The Calvary Octavio Cordero at risk of disappearing

El vicepresidente de Fedecamaras, capítulo insular, Gabriel Briceño rechazó los continuos cortes de luz que se han suscitado en la región, en tanto ocasionan pérdidas incalculables para el sector comercial y turístico de la Isla.
Briceño indicó: “no se explica que el Gobierno esté realizando estos racionamientos cuando supuestamente ya se había superado el déficit del sector eléctrico del país”.
Asimismo, destacó que las fallas eléctricas son producto de la ineficiencia y la poca inversión que se ha realizado durante los últimos 12 años.
“La red eléctrica del país tiene una necesidad de inversión de 20 mil millones de dólares.

Briceño agregó que una comisión de Fedecamaras le aconsejó al Gobierno Nacional que debían hacer una inversión de 4 mil millones de dólares anual por un periodo de 5 años para subsanar la crisis del sistema eléctrico nacional, “pero ellos no escucharon”.
Desmintió que los cortes de luz en la isla de Margarita obedecen al deterioro del cable submarino, ya que este genera solo 20% de la demanda en el estado.
“El cable submarino lleva mucho tiempo presentando fallas que estamos cansado de denunciar pero tampoco se ha hecho nada para solventarlo”, dijo.
Briceño exhorto al Ejecutivo Nacional para que tome en cuenta al sector privado del país a fin de buscar, de forma mancomunada con todos los sectores, los paliativos correspondientes que resuelvan de manera efectiva la crisis eléctrica.

Over the Simon Bolivar Avenue, from Santa Rosa to Guápulo (33 km) there are sections where the slopes are leaking water.
