Earthquakes Worldwide in Five Areas: 2014-02-08 to 2014-03-21

showing earthquakes of more than magnitude 4, I classified each earthquake in five areas by its location and made the following figures.

Area 1: Sunda Plate, Polynesia

Area 2: Central/South America

Area 3: North America, North Pacific

Area 4: West Eurasia, Central Asia

Area 5: Africa

For 3 weeks from 2014-02-08 to 2014-02-28, the number of earthquakes was 291.

By classifying in the five areas, 

the number of earthquakes was 107 in Area 1,  

the number of earthquakes was 66 in Area 2, 

the number of earthquakes was 53 in Area 3, 

the number of earthquakes was 52 in Area 4, and

the number of earthquakes was 13 in Area 5.

And four earthquakes of those were more than magnitude 6;

two in Area 2, 

one in Area 3, and 

one in Area 4.

For the following 3 weeks from 2014-03-01 to 2014-03-21, the number of earthquakes was 385. 

By classifying in the five areas, 

the number of earthquakes was 159 in Area 1,  

the number of earthquakes was 123 in Area 2, 

the number of earthquakes was 55 in Area 3, 

the number of earthquakes was 36 in Area 4, and

the number of earthquakes was 12 in Area 5.

And eleven earthquakes of those were more than magnitude 6.

four in Area 1,

six in Area 2, and

one in Area 4.
