Past week:

Valle de Chalco sinks by their homes
When housing began, the first noticeable impact was seven inches of subsidence, then the weight of buildings and drying, there is now an annual drop of forty feet.
In Valle de Chalco live 500 000 inhabitants who built their homes in salty soil even though he was unfit to withstand high-impact buildings. Today support continuous flooding in some areas and cracks have formed before the collapse that is recorded from 40 inches a year, experts report that the area was formerly a lake should not be populated, making it susceptible to evacuate.
The researcher Chapingo (UACh), Aurelio Reyes Ramirez, who works in the Department of Irrigation and area responsible for Geohydrology (specialty that studies related to surface water, groundwater and its effect relationship), argues the subsidence that occur in the municipality and the urban infrastructure damage are caused by the massive extraction of groundwater, a phenomenon known as subsidence. Gramalote seems to be on the forefront of the changes in South America.  Search for that word on youtube and sort the results by upload date.  As the months have gone by; that town is slowly getting disintegrated by the earth as evidenced by the progress seen in the videos.

It would be neat of someone could camp out in that town and be there when the movement/changes occur.  Is it earthquakes or ground movement in the middle of the night?  There is a large distinct building with a bell tower and in the videos; the building gets more and more destroyed over time.  Also the changes to the roads are very noticeable.
