Altering Earthquakes:

ZetaTalk Aug 7, 2010

As of late, I have observed that USGS and EMSC are a bit lax on their reports of earthquakes. Sometimes not seeing anything reported for hours from the last update, or seeing periods of 90-200 minutes with no earthquakes in between. My question is, are they leaving swarms of earthquakes out of their reports, or there are actually periods of no earthquakes?

SOZT:   Greater than 90% of the earthquake activity is being altered by the USGS at present, which is under orders to prevent any clue being given to the public about the Earth changes caused by the presence of Planet X. Over a decade ago, the approach was to de-sensitize the live seismographs periodically, so the displays do not turn black worldwide, and to ignore the twice-a-day patterns showing up on these seismographs. Then any quakes that could be dropped were dropped. This was obvious to some who were watching the database manipulation. Quakes in the list would suddenly disappear. This was particularly the case where a quake happened in a remote location, or out in the ocean. Dumbing down the magnitude quickly followed, but in order to ensure the public did not notice, the USGS took control of all websites reporting quake statistics. At times, this control breaks, and discrepancies are reported to the public. Some countries rebel. Quake swarms are another source of control, as they pepper the databases with many quakes and skew the statistics, and thus are pulled from the database. Else the question is raised, why so many?   EOZT

Will the USGS internet system be a reliable warning system for the European tsunami by registering on the net the New Madrid earthquake on the exact time it occurs?

SOZT:   It will not be a lack of information from the USGS that will be the point of confusion during the earthquakes leading up to the New Madrid adjustment, it will be knowing which quake is the big one vs the many minor quakes preceding it. The USGS downgrades almost all earthquakes, to prevent meaningful statistics from being generated from their databases. They also exclude quakes whenever they can, but this is unlikely to happen in the New Madrid area as it is in the center of a populated land mass. Thus you will have magnitude 6 quakes that will be called a 5.2, magnitude 7 quakes called a 6.1, and when a magnitude 8 or greater quake occurs, it will be called a 6.9.

We would advise that rather than watching the USGS quake statistics, that you watch the Earth changes. The adjustment that will incite the European tsunami will involve bridges on the Mississippi breaking, and being impassable. The land to the west of the Mississippi will drop so that the Mississippi will become 50 miles wide in the state of Mississippi. Watch for this. The New Madrid adjustment will be several large quakes of magnitude 8-9, though will be listed as a lesser magnitude. As the N American continent continues to unzip up to and along the Seaway, the quakes will be less than a magnitude 8 but very destructive to Cleveland and Toledo and Buffalo and the inland locks along the Seaway. Thus it is not what the USGS says that should be watched, but the condition of the bridges on the Mississippi, the impact on the cities along the Seaway, and whether the inland locks are reported as inoperable.   EOZT

Please collect earthquake-reports here. Significant Quakes or Magnitude 7+ can be posted separately.

Another explosive day at Erebus. The small earthquakes are the result of explosive eruptions. The eruption near the bottom of the chart is one of the largest seen in October. The large teleseism is the magnitude 7.3 quake off the coast of Honshu, Japan.

* Israel rattled by sixth minor quake in under a week [Global Post; 22 October, 2013]

Two minor earthquakes rattled northern Israel on Tuesday, bringing to six the number of such incidents in less than a week, a spokeswoman for the Israel Geophysical Institute said.

The most recent quake by the town of Meron in northern Israel had a 2.2 magnitude, which is very weak, she said, noting it was unrelated to a 3.3 tremor earlier on Tuesday that had its epicentre on the northern shores of the Sea of Galilee.

There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries from Tuesday's quakes.

The spokeswoman also said that since the morning's quake in the Sea of Galilee, the institute had detected four very minor aftershocks, all measuring less than 2.

On Sunday, two mild tremors were registered, one which hit just before midday (0900 GMT) and measured 3.6, while a second registering 3.5 was felt some four hours later.

Both epicentres were on or near the northern shores of Galilee.

In the early hours of Saturday morning, another quake measured 3.6. The first quake struck on Thursday evening and measured 3.5, officials said.

Experts have so far been unable to explain the sudden increase in quakes, but the development has prompted the Israeli government to begin a national drill for earthquake preparedness.

"Following four earthquakes in the past few days, the prime minister has ordered emergency drills in schools and instructions to be given to the public," Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said on Monday evening.

Eli Yishai, who heads the parliamentary committee charged with home front preparedness, announced a "special meeting" on Monday "in wake of the wave of earthquakes."

"We must be prepared for any scenario," said Yishai, a member of the Shas party.

The Sea of Galilee, the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea all lie close to the seismically-active Afro-Syrian rift.

The last notable quake, a 4.2 magnitude tremor, was registered in Israel and the Palestinian territories in August 2011.

In 1927, about 300 people were killed when a quake hit Jerusalem and nearby Jericho.

A similar quake in 1837 measuring 7.0 and with an epicentre in the Hula Valley, which today lies in northern Israel, devastated the town of Safed and killed some 4,000 people.

* Fifth quake in six days rattles north [Times of Israel; 22 October, 2013]

A small earthquake shook the Sea of Galilee area on Tuesday morning, the fifth such tremor in less than a week.

The quake, measuring 3.3 on the Richter scale, caused no reported damage or injuries.

On Sunday, two minor earthquakes, both measuring 3.6 in intensity, were reported in the north, which followed similar quakes on Saturday and Thursday. No injuries have been reported, although some buildings in Tiberias were lightly damaged by the tremors.

Last Sunday, a 6.4-magnitude quake, centered in the Mediterranean Sea near Crete, was felt in Athens, Egypt and Israel.

And in September, an early-morning 3.5-magnitude quake was felt in the northern Dead Sea area, including in Jerusalem.

In response to the string of temblors, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu convened a special cabinet meetin... to discuss the state’s earthquake preparedness, and, on Sunday, the Home Front Command and emergency services representatives held a meeting to discuss emergency procedures in the case of a more major earthquake.

However, seismologist Dov Lakovsky of the Geophysical Institute of Israel told The Times of Israel Sunday that there was no cause for alarm and that the quakes were just “a bit stronger than usual.” Such tremors, he said, “happen all the time.”

According to the GII’s statistics, seven earthquakes strong enough to be felt have rattled Israel in 2013.

Israel is situated along the Syrian-African rift, a tear in the earth’s crust running the length of the border separating Israel and Jordan, and is part of the Great Rift Valley, which extends from northern Syria to Mozambique.

Israel’s last major earthquake rattled the region in 1927 — a 6.2-magnitude tremor that killed 500 and injured another 700.

An earthquake in 1837 left as many as 5,000 people dead. According to a 2010 Haaretz report, major earthquakes strike Israel once every 80 years or so.

The country is currently in the midst of a major program of upgrading buildings to withstand earthquakes.

Gavriel Fiske and Ilan Ben Zion contributed to this report.

* Israel (ZetaTalk)

http://www.zetatalk.com/info/tinfo24t.htm

The eastern border of Israel, which lies directly on the Arabian Plate border, will be ripped open when the Arabian Plate rolls its top to the east, as we have predicted will occur at some point. The geography of the region shows that this trauma has occurred in the past, regularly, with the land on the plate border sunken and flooded into a series of lakes. At this time, Israel will be pulled to the southeast. Sinking and flooding can be expected, as well as earthquakes that will seem almost continuous as the pole shift approaches. When the 7 of 10 drops the African Plate, this area will likewise experience stretch zone trauma, pulled toward the southwest. Thus jerked about in first one direction and then another, Israel should expect to feel quite rattled. ZetaTalk ™ September 10, 2011
