Towns flood again

PARTS of Nadi and Rakiraki were flooded again on Thursday night following another spell of heavy rain.

Rakiraki provincial administrator Sitiveni Tavaga said heavy downpour began at about 3pm Thursday, causing two-feet of water to collect along Vaileka Rd.

Mr Tavaga said by 6pm, the area along the town's main road was flooded again.

Despite this, Mr Tavaga said things are returning to normal at the town.

He said cleaning efforts in affected areas were in full swing while power and water supply had normalised.

Nadi Town special administrator Aisea Tuidraki confirmed there was some flooding at the bus stand.

Mr Tuidraki also said the council had to block the town's main drain to collect rain water for cleaning.
