Altering Earthquakes:

ZetaTalk Aug 7, 2010

As of late, I have observed that USGS and EMSC are a bit lax on their reports of earthquakes. Sometimes not seeing anything reported for hours from the last update, or seeing periods of 90-200 minutes with no earthquakes in between. My question is, are they leaving swarms of earthquakes out of their reports, or there are actually periods of no earthquakes?

SOZT:   Greater than 90% of the earthquake activity is being altered by the USGS at present, which is under orders to prevent any clue being given to the public about the Earth changes caused by the presence of Planet X. Over a decade ago, the approach was to de-sensitize the live seismographs periodically, so the displays do not turn black worldwide, and to ignore the twice-a-day patterns showing up on these seismographs. Then any quakes that could be dropped were dropped. This was obvious to some who were watching the database manipulation. Quakes in the list would suddenly disappear. This was particularly the case where a quake happened in a remote location, or out in the ocean. Dumbing down the magnitude quickly followed, but in order to ensure the public did not notice, the USGS took control of all websites reporting quake statistics. At times, this control breaks, and discrepancies are reported to the public. Some countries rebel. Quake swarms are another source of control, as they pepper the databases with many quakes and skew the statistics, and thus are pulled from the database. Else the question is raised, why so many?   EOZT

Will the USGS internet system be a reliable warning system for the European tsunami by registering on the net the New Madrid earthquake on the exact time it occurs?

SOZT:   It will not be a lack of information from the USGS that will be the point of confusion during the earthquakes leading up to the New Madrid adjustment, it will be knowing which quake is the big one vs the many minor quakes preceding it. The USGS downgrades almost all earthquakes, to prevent meaningful statistics from being generated from their databases. They also exclude quakes whenever they can, but this is unlikely to happen in the New Madrid area as it is in the center of a populated land mass. Thus you will have magnitude 6 quakes that will be called a 5.2, magnitude 7 quakes called a 6.1, and when a magnitude 8 or greater quake occurs, it will be called a 6.9.

We would advise that rather than watching the USGS quake statistics, that you watch the Earth changes. The adjustment that will incite the European tsunami will involve bridges on the Mississippi breaking, and being impassable. The land to the west of the Mississippi will drop so that the Mississippi will become 50 miles wide in the state of Mississippi. Watch for this. The New Madrid adjustment will be several large quakes of magnitude 8-9, though will be listed as a lesser magnitude. As the N American continent continues to unzip up to and along the Seaway, the quakes will be less than a magnitude 8 but very destructive to Cleveland and Toledo and Buffalo and the inland locks along the Seaway. Thus it is not what the USGS says that should be watched, but the condition of the bridges on the Mississippi, the impact on the cities along the Seaway, and whether the inland locks are reported as inoperable.   EOZT

Hawaii in path of tsunami after 7.7 earthquake strikes western Canada

(CNN) -- Sirens blaring across parts of Hawaii urged residents to seek higher ground as a tsunami, triggered by a sizable 7.7-magnitude earthquake in western Canada, headed toward them.

Waves between 3 and 7 feet are expected to lash the islands, beginning about 10:28 p.m. local time Saturday (3:28 a.m. Sunday ET), the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said.

"Basically this tsunami is pointed right at us," said Gerard Fryer, senior geophysicist at center.

The impact could last for hours.

"It's not just one wave, it's a succession of waves," Fryer said. "We are recommending coastal evacuation."

But he noted that the tsunami will not be as significant as the devastating quake and tsunami that killed thousands in Japan in March 2011.

The tsunami was spawned by an earthquake in western British Columbia, prompting a local tsunami warning and sending some residents toward higher ground.

"A (magnitude) 7.7 is a big, hefty earthquake -- not something you can ignore," Fryer said. "It definitely would have done some damage if it had been under a city."

Instead, the quake struck about 139 kilometers (86 miles) south of Masset, on British Columbia's Queen Charlotte Islands. No major damage was reported.

The Alaska Tsunami Warning Center issued a warning for western British Columbia from Vancouver to the southern panhandle of Alaska.

Canadians as far as Prince Rupert on mainland British Columbia felt the quake.

Tanya Simonds said she felt like her house was "sliding back and forth on mud," but didn't see any damage from the tremor.

Shawn Martin was at a movie theater when the quake struck.

"It just felt like the seats were moving. It felt like someone was kicking your seat," he said. Martin said more than hundred cars headed toward a popular intersection in the city known for its higher ground.

Fryer said he expects Hawaiians to also seek higher ground due to the expected "significant flooding."

"The rest of the Pacific does not have to worry, but Hawaii does," he said.

Tsunami warning issued for southern Alaska

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — A small tsunami prompted state and federal officials to warn people in southeast Alaska and down the Canadian coast to take precautions.

The warning was sparked by a strong earthquake Saturday night that shook off the west coast of Canada. The U.S. Geological Survey said the 7.7-magnitude earthquake hit in the Queen Charlotte Islands area, followed by a 5.8-magnitude aftershock several minutes later.

The National Weather Service issued a warning for coastal areas of southeast Alaska including the small community of Craig. The U.S. Coast Guard in Alaska said it's trying to warn everyone with a boat on the water to prepare for a potential tsunami.

The first wave was expected to Craig about 9:10 p.m. local time, but it wasn't expected to be large, about 1-foot.

"That's the predicted arrival time for the first wave, which typically is not the largest but nevertheless we don't expect the maximum wave height to be large," said Bill Knight at the West Coast and Alaska Tsunami Warning Center.

He said any forecast that includes waves of 1-foot to 3 1/2-feet qualifies for an advisory threat level, which does not mean a full-fledged evacuation.

"It does mean pulling back from harbors, marinas, getting off the beach," Knight said.

The state Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management activated its emergency operations center and notified officials in southeast Alaska communities.

"We are instructing residents to be alert for messages from their local emergency officials," spokesman Jeremy Zidek said in an email to The Associated Press.

Lt. Bernard Auth of the Juneau Command Center said the Coast Guard was also working with local authorities to alert people in coastal towns to take precautions.

Lucy Jones, a USGS seismologist, said the earthquake likely would not generate a large tsunami.

"This isn't that big of an earthquake on tsunami scales," she said. "The really big tsunamis are usually up in the high 8s and 9s."

She said the earthquake occurred along a "fairly long" fault - "a plate 200 kilometers long" in a subduction zone, where one plate slips underneath another. Such quakes lift the sea floor and tend to cause tsunamis, she said.

AP reporter Chris Weber in Los Angeles contributed to this report.

Goodnight Howard, agree about the same time as the earthquake, I'm checking if tsunami warning buoys are 10 active now.
