We'll be seeing an uptick in unusual home and business gas explosions and I'm trying to locate specific ZT on the matter.  Below is a refresher for the many gas related news articles.

Fault lines, when adjusting, do not just rip apart one day during a dramatic earthquake. They most often creep. Laying gas lines along or across a fault line is asking for an accident of this sort. Fault lines are also seldom so clearly delineated that one can go a mile in this or that direction and avoid their action. Where a slip-slide fault such as the San Andreas will often leave a clear line on the surface, this is only the surface action, not what occurs in the rock layers on either side which can fracture for a long way to either side during any movement. The gas company, or the age of the pipes, will be faulted but in truth the finger should be pointed in many directions. The public, who insist on living at such a scenic spot, is to blame. Officials, who zoned for housing are to blame. The public utility company, for allowing gas lines in the area, is to blame. But this will change nothing, while man continues to live on the San Andreas, even as it awakens. EOZT

The danger from radon gas will not be increased as a result of the pole shift. Radon gas is emitted by rock containing uranium, which is degrading. In normal circumstances, where air can circulate, it is disbursed rapidly as is any methane created by decay of organic material. The danger from these gasses comes from confinement - being trapped in a mine, a basement, or beneath the permafrost. The dangers are well known. For methane, it is explosions. An accumulation of methane gas can be identified by the smell of rotten eggs, or as some have described it, dirty socks or cabbage soup. For radon gas the danger is lung cancer, from the continual exposure to the radioactive air. Radon gas is odorless, and cannot be detected except by specialized equipment not in the hands of the average person.

In that the pole shift, or the Earth changes preceding the pole shift, can fracture rock and release pockets of either gas, survivors should be cautious about huddling in bunkers. You are safer out in the open air, or in a trench you have dug that will allow the pole shift winds to pass over you, but nothing to fall on and crush you. The fact that both methane gas and radon gas can accumulate in the bunkers of the elite is one of the reasons we have stated that they have dug their own graves. EOZT

Anyone watching the news, for instance the news on the San Bruno explosion in a distribution line close to the San Andreas Fault line, knows that gas in any form is a danger. Oil and gas refineries explode when rigid piping cracks. Oil or gas wells explode when the ground around them moves. And the gas distribution lines running under cities are no exception. They likewise will explode. Gas lines, whether along the street or within a home, are rigid. In some cases automatic shutoff valves can limit the amount of gas available for an explosion by sensing a drop in pressure, but this is always after the fact. The explosion has already occurred. Utilizing gas on a planet prone to earthquakes was a mistake to begin with, but man never thinks of the consequences when striving for modern conveniences. We have advised turning off the gas at the street, though when the street explodes and your neighbor's homes are on fire you are not likely to escape the holocaust. A better alternative is to live in an area where gas is not available, as in your rural safe location where you will be doing a form of camping while gardening. A campfire at night, for cooking and washing and a bit of friendly light before bed. Nothing explosive. EOZT

SOZT Answer: It is no accident that the New Madrid fault lies under the Mississippi River near Memphis, as rivers form in lowlands created when land pulls apart, separating the rock fingers and weakening support for the land. Thus, the Ohio River bed also is an indication of where rock fingers will pull apart. Two adjustments in Kentucky, a day apart, are not an accident, but an indication of the speed at which the stretch zone is starting to adjust. Rail lines are frequently an early harbinger of such adjustments, as they run long distances, whereas structures within cities, such as tall buildings, take up relatively little space and have a small footprint. Our warning that imploding cities will be experienced, before the hour of the shift, are in this regard. Be warmed, it will not just be your rail lines and gas and water mains that will shatter and be pulled apart during the stretch. The foundations of your tall buildings will likewise be vulnerable.EOZT

(CNN) -- A gas main explosion in Philadelphia Tuesday evening killed one utilities worker and injured five other people, a fire department official said.

Philadelphia Gas Works employees were responding to a gas main break in the city's Tacony neighborhood when the explosion occurred, fire department spokesman Jim Smith said.

"They were trying to control it and found a source of ignition," according to Smith, who said four PGW employees and a firefighter were among the injured. He said some of the gas workers' injuries were serious.

A fire and a suspected gas leak triggered a powerful explosion inside a bakery in downtown Paris. At least four people, including two firefighters, have lost their lives and over two dozen were injured.

The explosion that took place on Rue de Trevise in central Paris  killed at least four people, among them two firefighters, France’s Interior Minister Christophe Castaner has said. Previous reports mentioned and over 30 wounded, including 15 people who suffered serious injuries.

Meanwhile, the Paris prosecutor’s office said it has launched an inquiry into the blast. “At this point, we can say that it obviously has an accidental origin but we must remain cautious,” the prosecutor said, as cited by French media.

Earlier in the day, Paris fire department spokesman Eric Moulin said the blast saw at least 36 people wounded, including 12 that suffered critical injuries. He told reporters that five people were in life-threatening condition, including two firefighters. A fire broke out inside the bakery after the blast that caused chaos on the adjacent streets.

Sadiqabad: Gas pipeline catches fire after explosion

SADIQABAD: A fire erupted in a gas pipeline after it exploded in the early hours of Wednesday, near Bhong area of Sadiqabad district of Punjab.

District Police Officer (DPO) told local news channel that no loss of life occurred in the incident. The officials of the Sui gas company has disconnected connection of the supply to prevent any further damage.

A heavy contingent of Rangers and police had also arrived at the scene. Local authorities asked the residents of nearby localities to evacuate the area as precautionary measure to avoid any untoward incident as intensity of flames was high.

Four fire brigade vehicles and water douser were called in to extinguish the fire.

In a deadly incident couple of years ago, a Sui gas employee was killed in gas pipeline explosion at Shahdadpur-Hala, Sanghar.

13 people were injured in a gas explosion accident in a residential building in Dalian, Liaoning Province

On January 8, the Propaganda Department of the Dalian Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China was informed that at about 19:10 on the 8th, a gas explosion occurred in a residential building along the 8th Road in Xigang District, Dalian City, Liaoning Province, which injured nine people. At present, all the injured people have been sent to hospital for treatment, and there is no life danger. The open fire on the spot has been extinguished. The picture shows the scene of gas explosion in residential buildings.

According to the report, the police received an alarm that a gas leak occurred on the 4th floor of Building 13, Rongxin Lane, Bayi Road, Xigang District, Dalian. Subsequently, the police of Dalian Bayi Police Station, the local patrol police and the staff of the gas company rushed to the scene. During the process of checking the gas leak point, a gas explosion occurred, resulting in nine injuries.

At present, all the wounded have been sent to hospital for treatment, and the situation on the spot is stable and controllable.

Cyprus rescues five crew after explosion on oil tanker

Cyprus police rescued five injured crew from the water following an explosion on a Maltese-flagged oil tanker off the island’s south coast on Saturday, authorities said.

Two Indian crew were taken to the capital Nicosia for treatment for burns of between 30 and 70 percent, the head of the Cyprus Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC), Andreas Charalambides, told reporters.

The other three, all Greek citizens, had symptoms of hypothermia and were briefly hospitalised in the island’s main port of Limassol before being discharged, he said.

The remaining crew managed to put out the fire but the Athlos tanker was listing some 200 metres off the fishing village of Zygi, the JRCC said.

The ship was carrying around 100 tonnes of fuel for its own use but the rescue centre scrambled boats to contain any oil spill. There was no other dangerous cargo on board.

The Athlos had been headed from the island to Greece with a crew of 17 — one Georgian, seven Greeks and nine Indians.

At least 2 killed in residential building collapse after gas blast in Magnitogorsk, Russia (VIDEO)  31 Dec, 2018 

Injuries are being reported following an alleged gas explosion inside a multi-unit residential building in the Russian city of Magnitogorsk.

One section of the building has completely collapsed from the explosion, which struck around 4:00am local time, videos from the scene show.

Czech coal mine methane gas explosion kills 13

At least 13 miners have been killed and 10 more injured in a methane explosion at a Czech coal mine, officials say.

Most of the victims were Polish miners provided by an agency, the state-run OKD mining company said.

Thursday's blast happened 800m (2,600ft) below ground at the CSM hard-coal mine, near the eastern town of Karvina, close to the Polish border.

Managing director Boleslav Kowalczyk said a search operation was being hampered by fire.

"Unfortunately, we have reached a point where it was impossible to move forward, because there was a fire raging and zero visibility," he said.

OKD spokesman Ivo Celechovsky told AFP news agency that 11 of the miners were Polish and the two others Czech.

Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis is to visit the mine on Friday with his Polish counterpart, Mateusz Morawiecki.

"The blast at the CSM mine is a huge tragedy," Mr Babis tweeted.

A minute's silence for the victims is being held in parliament on Friday, he added.

42 people injured in Japan restaurant explosion

More than 40 people were injured in an explosion Sunday night at a Japanese restaurant in northern Japan, authorities said. The explosion occurred in Sapporo, the capital city of Japan's northern main island of Hokkaido, and caused nearby apartment buildings and houses to shake.

Police said 42 people were injured, most of them mildly, though one was in serious condition. They were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.

The cause of the explosion, which occurred at a two-story restaurant in Sapporo's Toyohira district, is under investigation, police said, adding that they had no further details.

TV footage from Japanese public broadcaster NHK showed the restaurant in flames, with debris scattered on the ground. The footage later showed gray smoke billowing from the restaurant as dozens of firefighters poured water onto the building, which was charred and nearly collapsing

Windows on an apartment building next door were broken, and cars parked outside were partially covered with debris that had fallen on them.

A witness told NHK he smelled gas after the sound of an explosion. The broadcaster said the district office was to set up a shelter for neighbors of the restaurant to stay overnight so they could escape the smoke.

Four injured, one critically, in fire at MarkWest processing plant in Washington County

Four people were injured and one was in critical condition Thursday night after a fire at a Washington County gas processing plant Thursday night.

The explosion involved a condensate tank at the MarkWest Energy facility at 800 Western Ave., in Houston, Pa. It was reported at 6:03 p.m. and the fire brought under control within an hour, according to county emergency officials. 

Work was being performed by a contractor, Energy Transportation LLC of Bridgeport, W.Va., according to the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration which opened an investigation into the incident on Friday.

All of the injured workers suffered burns. Two were flown to UPMC Mercy, including one person who was in critical condition Friday morning, officials said. The other two injured were flown to West Penn Hospital.

Nine fire departments and three EMS crews responded, as did the county’s hazmat unit. No homes were evacuated.

Initial reports suggested a large tank filled with ethylene glycol but Ryan Frazee, emergency planner with the Washington County Department of Public Safety said on Friday afternoon that the fire started at a 300 barrel condensate tank. It was located in a parking are and was staged there for routine maintenance operations, he said.

“Although the processing plant was not involved in the incident, it was shut down as a precaution and at this time there are no off-site impacts,” a MarkWest statement read. “Agency notifications have been made and an investigation into the cause of this event is underway. Our prayers are with our injured colleagues and their families.”

Mr. Frazee said investigators at the state police fire marshal are still trying to determine the ignition source of the fire and whether an explosion occurred at the same time, as was initially reported.

OSHA’s investigation can take up to six months.

The Houston facility, which receives natural gas from shale gas wells in the Marcellus Shale region, separates the wet molecules, such as ethane and butane, from the dry ones, like methane.

First permitted in 2008, the plant has expanded substantially since then and has been the subject of multiple environmental violations during that time, many of them concerning improper flaring.

Flares at the plant are used to burn off gasses and liquids when there is a malfunction at the facility — acting as relief valves to prevent explosions. For the public, and often for regulators, a flare is often the only sign that something has gone wrong.

Upsets at such facilities, including natural gas processing plants and other chemical plants, are not uncommon and can range from a small, easy fix to a wholesale plant shutdown.

In comments submitted to the Department of Environmental Protection, the Environmental Integrity Project, an advocacy group, showed that the Houston plant utilized its flares — in other words, something went wrong — on 23 different days between April 2013 and Nov. 24.

A review of DEP records detailing when the facility flared during that time shows that upsets were caused by faulty valves leaking gas; vessels becoming over-pressurized during start-up operations; a pipeline suddenly halting deliveries to the plant; high winds damaging a transformer that supplies its electricity; and a lightning strike.

Last month, the DEP fined MarkWest $7 million for air emission violations including continuously leaking safety valves and other problems.

The Houston gas processing plant was MarkWest’s first in the region. About 603 million cubic feet of gas flow through the plant daily, according to a recent company presentation.

MarkWest was acquired by a MPLX, a subsidiary of Ohio-based Marathon Petroleum Corp. in Dec. 2015.

MPLX listed Range Resources Corp., EQT Corp., and CNX Resources Corp. as some of the oil and gas companies that send their gas to be processed at the Houston plant.

Whole block condemned after Minnesota house explosion, 11 displaced

ST. PAUL, Minn. --

An entire block in St. Paul, Minnesota, was condemned following a house explosion Friday.

The incident sent debris flying through the area. Officials told WCCO that a man in his 60s was found inside the remains of the house.

Officials said the man's feet were sticking out of the rubble and he was conscious and speaking when he was rescued. His current condition is unknown.

A neighbor was taken to an area hospital and is expected to recover.

"I just woke up, my girlfriend just got out of bed, she went to go make food, and the next thing you know the whole house started shaking, her brother was still sleeping it actually woke him up out of bed and we were all like, 'what was that?"'," said witness Austin Hulsing.

Officials said the blast may have been caused by a natural gas line, but an investigation is underway.

"We could smell like a little bit of gas, and a little bit of wood burning and stuff like that but it didn't seem like it was continuous," said neighbor James Porter. "It was just like, 'boom' and it happened and then it was over with."

Fire crews are working to determine the extent of the damage. 11 people were displaced when the surrounding block was condemned. Some nearby businesses are also closed until they can be inspected.
