Fault lines, when adjusting, do not just rip apart one day during a dramatic earthquake. They most often creep. Laying gas lines along or across a fault line is asking for an accident of this sort. Fault lines are also seldom so clearly delineated that one can go a mile in this or that direction and avoid their action. Where a slip-slide fault such as the San Andreas will often leave a clear line on the surface, this is only the surface action, not what occurs in the rock layers on either side which can fracture for a long way to either side during any movement. The gas company, or the age of the pipes, will be faulted but in truth the finger should be pointed in many directions. The public, who insist on living at such a scenic spot, is to blame. Officials, who zoned for housing are to blame. The public utility company, for allowing gas lines in the area, is to blame. But this will change nothing, while man continues to live on the San Andreas, even as it awakens. EOZT

The danger from radon gas will not be increased as a result of the pole shift. Radon gas is emitted by rock containing uranium, which is degrading. In normal circumstances, where air can circulate, it is disbursed rapidly as is any methane created by decay of organic material. The danger from these gasses comes from confinement - being trapped in a mine, a basement, or beneath the permafrost. The dangers are well known. For methane, it is explosions. An accumulation of methane gas can be identified by the smell of rotten eggs, or as some have described it, dirty socks or cabbage soup. For radon gas the danger is lung cancer, from the continual exposure to the radioactive air. Radon gas is odorless and cannot be detected except by specialized equipment not in the hands of the average person.

In that the pole shift, or the Earth changes preceding the pole shift, can fracture rock and release pockets of either gas, survivors should be cautious about huddling in bunkers. You are safer out in the open air, or in a trench you have dug that will allow the pole shift winds to pass over you, but nothing to fall on and crush you. The fact that both methane gas and radon gas can accumulate in the bunkers of the elite is one of the reasons we have stated that they have dug their own graves. EOZT

Anyone watching the news, for instance the news on the San Bruno explosion in a distribution line close to the San Andreas Fault line, knows that gas in any form is a danger. Oil and gas refineries explode when rigid piping cracks. Oil or gas wells explode when the ground around them moves. And the gas distribution lines running under cities are no exception. They likewise will explode. Gas lines, whether along the street or within a home, are rigid. In some cases automatic shutoff valves can limit the amount of gas available for an explosion by sensing a drop in pressure, but this is always after the fact. The explosion has already occurred. Utilizing gas on a planet prone to earthquakes was a mistake to begin with, but man never thinks of the consequences when striving for modern conveniences. We have advised turning off the gas at the street, though when the street explodes and your neighbor's homes are on fire you are not likely to escape the holocaust. A better alternative is to live in an area where gas is not available, as in your rural safe location where you will be doing a form of camping while gardening. A campfire at night, for cooking and washing and a bit of friendly light before bed. Nothing explosive. EOZT

SOZT Answer: It is no accident that the New Madrid fault lies under the Mississippi River near Memphis, as rivers form in lowlands created when land pulls apart, separating the rock fingers and weakening support for the land. Thus, the Ohio River bed also is an indication of where rock fingers will pull apart. Two adjustments in Kentucky, a day apart, are not an accident, but an indication of the speed at which the stretch zone is starting to adjust. Rail lines are frequently an early harbinger of such adjustments, as they run long distances, whereas structures within cities, such as tall buildings, take up relatively little space and have a small footprint. Our warning that imploding cities will be experienced, before the hour of the shift, are in this regard. Be warmed, it will not just be your rail lines and gas and water mains that will shatter and be pulled apart during the stretch. The foundations of your tall buildings will likewise be vulnerable.EOZT

7 firefighters hurt after fire spreads to parked cars, leads to massive explosion in the Bronx

THE BRONX, New York (WABC) -- Seven firefighters were injured, including some with serious burns, after a trash fire spread to several cars, leading to a massive explosion in the Bronx on Wednesday, according to officials.

The FDNY says firefighters responded to a call of reported car explosion around 7 p.m. at 955 Westchester Ave. in the Longwood section.

Officials say garbage and debris were on fire on the sidewalk. The flames spread to a couple of cars before the large explosion occurred.

People watched from their windows as the fire burned on the street below. Suddenly, a ball of fire was right outside their window.

"I'm like, how am I going to get out? That's what I thought," said eyewitness, Liza Almonte. "Like what now?"

Almonte works with children who have autism inside a building near Fox Street and Westchester Avenue when she saw garbage, debris and cars on fire, and firefighters rushing to put it out.

Their job took a dangerous turn as an explosion rocked the neighborhood.

"It's very worrying because at the time of the big explosion they - I don't know how close one of them was because the fire truck was already here when the big explosion happened," Almonte said.

Seven firefighters were injured, including five who suffered serious burns to the hands and face.

Three were admitted to Jacobi Medical Center.

Officials say the burns are considered serious, but not life threatening.

"Our firefighters are awake, alert and speaking, but they have some serious burns and we'll be obviously praying for them," said FDNY Chief of Department John Esposito.

All the firefighters are expected to make a full recovery.

Meanwhile, piles of garbage littered the street next to a vehicle that had been incinerated.

Engine 82 also endured some damage.

Officials are now investigating the cause of the fire.

YAZOO CITY, Miss. — An explosion at a hydrogen and nitrogen product manufacturer in Mississippi on Wednesday caused an ammonia leak and forced nearby residents to evacuate, officials said.

Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves said in a post on the social platform X that emergency officials from across the state were responding to the anhydrous ammonia leak at CF Industries’ plant north of Yazoo City.

No deaths or injuries have been reported, he said.

“Thank you to all of Mississippi’s first responders and emergency managers for quickly responding to the leak,” he said.

Photos and video posted online show a large plume of yellowish smoke rising above the facility, which includes an ammonia plant and four nitric acid plants, among other things.

The facility is able to store about 48,000 tons of ammonia, although the exact amount there when the explosion took place was not immediately clear.

CF Industries said in a statement that there are no injuries, and “all employees and contractors on site at the time of the incident have been safely accounted for.”

Andre Robinson, who lives about a half-mile (800 meters) from the facility, said he and his son were getting ready to make gumbo when he heard what sounded like a sonic boom or a tree crashing on his house.

“There was a boom and then the house shook,” he said.

When he looked outside, Robinson said he saw smoke rising from the facility and started to smell a strong scent of ammonia.

“We’re used to the ammonia smell, but not that bad,” he said, adding that his family has since evacuated to Jackson.

Part of U.S. Route 49E was temporarily closed, according to the Mississippi Department of Transportation.

The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality said in a post on X that “air monitoring operations are underway and will continue as long as necessary to ensure public safety.”

Anhydrous ammonia is used as a fertilizer to help provide nitrogen for corn and wheat plants, according to the Minnesota Department of Agriculture. If a person touches it when it is in gas or liquid form, they could be burned.

Yazoo City is a small community about 50 miles north of Jackson.

At least 23 killed in supermarket blast in Mexico’s Sonora state

Authorities say a faulty electric transformer may have caused the explosion, ruling out an ‘attack’ against civilians.

A blast at a supermarket in the northwestern Mexican state of Sonora has killed at least 23 people, including children, and wounded at least 11, according to local officials.

The blast happened on Saturday at the Waldo’s store in the city of Hermosillo.

The prosecutor’s office in Sonora said that “the working assumption is that the incident was accidental, and the investigation is looking into a transformer located inside the store”.

Local public security authorities earlier said they had ruled out an “attack” or “event related to a violent act” against civilians.

Sonora Governor Alfonso Durazo said in a video message that “a number of the victims” were minors and that survivors were being treated at hospitals in Hermosillo.

“I have ordered an extensive and transparent investigation to determine the causes of the incident and figure out those responsible,” Durazo said.

“Nobody will face this pain alone. From the very first moments, emergency, security and health services responded with great professionalism and commitment, controlling the situation and saving lives,” the governor said.

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum expressed her condolences on X “to the families and loved ones of those who died”.

“I have been in contact with the Sonora governor, Alfonso Durazo, to provide support where needed. I’ve instructed Interior Secretary Rosa Icela Rodriguez to send a support team in order to assist the families and the injured,” she said.

Images in local media showed the front of the supermarket charred by the fire, with the windows blown out.

The explosion came as Mexico celebrated the Day of the Dead over the weekend, when families honour deceased loved ones.

Basra, Iraq—At least 2 workers were killed in an oil pipeline fire in Iraq's Zubair oilfield on Sunday, oilfield officials said.

The blaze, which also seriously wounded 5 workers, erupted while a group of workers were conducting welding operations near the pipeline, the officials said.

Firefighters were working to extinguish the fire, which broke out on a section of the pipeline that transports crude oil from the Zubair field to nearby storage tanks.

The oil ministry said in a statement that the fire originated from a gas leak in an old pumping system at the Zubair oil storage depot, confirming that one employee of the Basra Oil Company (BOC) was killed and four others were wounded.

The fire has not impacted production operations, but it needs to be extinguished quickly to avoid a partial shutdown of some loading operations, one of the officials said.

Powerful blast at apartment building in Romania’s capital kills 3 and injures at least 13

The explosion affected the fifth and sixth floors of the eight-story building, according to the capital’s Inspectorate for Emergency Situations. More than a dozen emergency vehicles, including 11 fire engines and four mobile intensive care units, were dispatched to the scene of the blast on Calea Rahovei in Bucharest’s Sector 5.

While the cause of the fatal blast was not immediately clear, the area’s gas distributor, Distrigaz Sud Retele, said in a statement Friday that it had received reports of a gas smell a day earlier and deployed emergency teams who shut off the supply after discovering the presence of natural gas at the building.
