Building Collapse in Manchester, UK
October 17, 2025, a playground collapsed at Zijiang School in Shaoyang City, Hunan Province, fortunately no casualties were reported. The Zijiang School playground collapse emergency response headquarters announced on Saturday that they have begun an investigation to the cause.
The emergency response headquarters confirmed that the west wall and some playgrounds of the campus of the school collapsed, and the corners of the west side of the Boxue Building (teaching building) were damaged.

Bridge Collapse, Pohang, South Korea 7/27/26
A maritime footbridge in Pohang, North Gyeongsang Province, collapsed, and 17 fishermen were once isolated and rescued. Fortunately, there were no passengers passing on the bridge, so no casualties occurred.
According to the fire authorities on the 28th, the middle bridge and the upper plate section of the Boritdol Bridge in Janggil-ri, Guryongpo-eup, Nam-gu, Pohang City collapsed at around 1:15 p.m.
17 fishermen who visited the rock near the Boritdolgyo Observatory were isolated in the accident, but were rescued by dispatched fire authorities and private fishing boats.

Bridge Collapse, CIBOLA, Arizona
The Hart Mine Road Bridge, located near the Cibola Wildlife Refuge on the Arizona-California border, collapsed today following structural damage believed to have been caused by a recent fire. Portions of the bridge are in the water. No injuries have been reported.

PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania
Officials said fire crews were called to the corner of Bryn Mawr and Woodbine Ave around 11 p.m. Sat, July 25, 2026, after a home collapsed.
NBC10 was on the scene, and the remains of the structure could be seen scattered across the property.
Philadelphia Gas Works said they worked through the night to shut off the gas line to the home.
Neighbors told NBC10 they are struggling to understand what caused the collapse and they don't believe anybody was living in the home. One nearby resident said the incident has left her questioning the structural integrity of her own home.
L&I doesn’t have any existing permits, violations, or investigations tied to this home. On Sun morning, crews started tearing down the house using a bulldozer.
No injuries have been reported. Officials have not yet confirmed the cause of the collapse.

Porter FD crews responded to a structure collapse at a gas station on FM 1314 at Lazy Lane, shortly after 11 a.m. Wednesday.
Firefighters assisted 3 uninjured persons in evacuating the store.

ALBIA, Iowa — A vacant former brewery in Albia partially collapsed on Sunday, causing fire crews to expand street closures as they monitor the situation and investigate the cause.
First responders told KCCI the east wall of the 2-story building suddenly collapsed into Princeton Alley around 11 a.m.
The building, located on Benton Avenue in the town square, has been vacant for over a year.
The Chamber of Commerce has been working to find a new tenant for the property, and the FD noted that the building was not known to have significant structural issues.
Surrounding buildings have been evacuated as a precaution, and no injuries have been reported.
Officials have not yet determined what caused the collapse.

WAYNE CO., West Virginia - Partial Collapse of a Bridge
Traffic is being diverted off of I-64 due to a huge hole opening up on a bridge.
Kenova Police Chief Bob Sullivan says that the eastbound lanes of I-64 near the Kenova exit (exit 1) are closed to traffic.
Traffic is being diverted off the interstate at Kenova, rerouted to Route 60 and then drivers can get back onto the interstate at the West Huntington exit (exit 6).
Sullivan says they had to close the highway due to a partial collapse of a bridge.
