October 17, 2025, a playground collapsed at Zijiang School in Shaoyang City, Hunan Province, fortunately no casualties were reported. The Zijiang School playground collapse emergency response headquarters announced on Saturday that they have begun an investigation to the cause.

The emergency response headquarters confirmed that the west wall and some playgrounds of the campus of the school collapsed, and the corners of the west side of the Boxue Building (teaching building) were damaged.

Châteauguay, QC - Canada — A bridge on Montreal’s South Shore was completely shut down for a few hours on Wednesday after part of it collapsed.

Eric Allard, the mayor of Châteauguay, Que., where the bridge is located, said no one was injured.

The Sauvagine Bridge crosses the Châteauguay River.

Early Wednesday evening, the Ministry of Transport, which is responsible for the bridge, said the westbound lane will remain closed indefinitely.

Meanwhile, the city has opened one lane in each direction in the eastbound lane after officials deemed it was safe for traffic.

Transport Quebec said inspectors are on site to assess the structure and that emergency repairs will begin Wednesday night.

GARLAND, Texas — In Garland, the roof of a warehouse in the 2900 block of W. Kingsley Road near Shiloh Road collapsed under the weight of heavy rain just before 5 p.m. Wednesday. A Garland FD spokesman said no one was hurt.

FLORESVILLE, Texas — The metal framework for the future Wilson County Expo Arena, under construction on S.H. 97 next to the Wilson County Expo and Community Center in Floresville, has collapsed.

Shortly after the collapse just before 3 p.m. March 4, Wilson County Judge Hank Whitman arrived at the site to assess the situation.

Work on the structure had been underway with the metal framework largely in place earlier in the day.

According to witnesses at the scene, there were no injuries reported.

Work was suspended at the site.

YONKERS, New York, 03.04.26 — Earlier today around 11:35 AM, crews responded to reports of a wall collapse at the corner of Landscape Ave and Caryl Ave in SW Yonkers.

A large section of wall (approx. 40’ x 10’) fell onto a parked vehicle. The driver was inside at the time but was able to safely exit the vehicle before units arrived.

First responders provided immediate medical care and secured the area while searching for additional victims and assessing structural stability.

The individual was transported with non-life-threatening injuries. Yonkers FD and Yonkers PD remain on scene as the investigation continues, along with the Yonkers Building Dept.

Johannesburg South, South Africa — The first-floor concrete slab in a 2-storey building at Amethyst Business Park collapsed earlier today.

According to preliminary reports, the concrete slab dividing the structure into 2 storeys caved in and collapsed, leading to significant structural failure.

One person has been rushed to the hospital, and the 2 individuals remain trapped, with rescue teams working urgently to extricate them.

4 people are reported to have tragically died at the scene. 5 individuals are currently missing, and search and rescue operations are actively underway.

The cause of the collapse remains undetermined.

Commercial building collapses after large fire in Thomasville

Explosion reported before Chim-Tech building collapse, fire officials say

THOMASVILLE, N.C. —

A commercial building in Thomasville partially collapsed after a large fire late Saturday night, according to Thomasville Fire & Rescue.

Crews were dispatched at 11:38 p.m. to the 100 block of Payne Road to a building occupied by Chim-Tech, a company that manufactures fireplace mantels and accessories. Officials said the 911 caller reported hearing an explosion.

When firefighters arrived, officials said a significant portion of the building had already collapsed. Crews began defensive operations and took steps to keep the fire from spreading to nearby buildings.

Thomasville Fire & Rescue was assisted by Hasty Fire & Rescue, Pilot Fire Department, Triangle Fire Department, Fair Grove Fire & Rescue, Thomasville Police, Davidson County EMS, the Davidson County Fire Marshal’s Office and Duke Energy.

No injuries were reported. The extent of the damage has not been released, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Kozhikode, India

4 people were killed & 2 others suffered serious injuries after a concrete slab of a Kozhikode Corporation-owned building collapsed at Valiyangadi in Kozhikode town on Monday.

The incident happened around 12 noon.

According to eyewitnesses, the driver of a truck, a helper and 3 labourers were standing near the building when a heavy chunk of concrete sunshade came crashing down, trapping them underneath.

The fire and rescue personnel sliced through the concrete blocks to retrieve 4 men who were trapped under the rubble.

2-wheelers parked at the site were also crushed under the impact.

DANIA BEACH, Florida — A place of worship in Dania Beach suffered extensive damage after the roof partially caved in.  7Skyforce hovered over the scene above the New Life Christian Center church near 102 NW Seventh Ave, on Friday afternoon.

According to Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue officials, the building was unoccupied when most of the roof collapsed.

The collapse left a massive hole in the structure, with piles of debris and rubble inside.

Betty Miller told 7News she heard a loud boom when it happened.

“‘Boom.’ I just heard the boom, and I came out the door; it was caved in,” said Miller.

As of Friday night, it remains unclear what caused the roof to partially collapse, and officials continue to investigate.

BURTON, Michigan — An additional collapse caused more damage at Bendle Middle School on Mon evening about 6 weeks after part of the roof caved in.

Officials blamed excessive weight from rain and snow for the roof collapsing into the wrestling room on Jan 6.

Classes resumed at the middle school in late Jan, but the area where the collapse occurred remained closed.

Bendle Superintendent Trisha Cherveny said the building shifted more on Mon and part of the exterior wall collapsed in the area where the roof caved in. She said the collapse did not affect parts of the building where students are attending classes.

Structural engineers and the Michigan Fire Marshal's Office have inspected the building multiple times since the Jan 6 incident. They ruled the building safe for students before it reopened.
