TULSA, Oklahoma — BREAKING: Major water main break at 21st & Lewis

Total News spotted what appeared to be a significant water leak at around 6:30 AM. It’s causing 21st street to sink and buckle. It appears that nearby businesses are seeing minor flooding due to the runoff coming in through the doors.

Greece, N.Y. — Crews are expected to spend much of Tuesday repairing a water main break on Straub Road.

The break left behind a large sinkhole in the area.

Straub Road was closed between Fox Meadow and Long Pond roads.

The Monroe County Water Authority said water service has been restored, but the cleanup effort continues.

No further information has been released.

MONTGOMERY CO., Maryland

DC Water crews are working to contain a massive sewage spill caused by Monday night’s collapse of a large pipe in the C&O Canal National Historical Park near Clara Barton Parkway in Montgomery Co, the water utility said Tuesday evening in a press statement.

The collapse of the pipe measuring 72” in diameter has not impacted the local drinking supply, the water utility and county officials said Tuesday. The cause of the collapsed pipe is still being investigated.

Wastewater from the collapsed pipe has reached the Potomac River downstream from the canal, but the utility noted that its customers will not be affected by the overflow.

According to the release, the overflow is downstream from the Washington Aqueduct’s intake equipment at Great Falls.

CLEARLAKE, California

The city of Clearlake has declared a local emergency in response to a massive ongoing sewage spill that began on Sunday due to a failure in the county-managed wastewater system.

The incident on Robin Lane, which began on Sunday morning, has impacted dozens of homes in and around the city of Clearlake, spilling raw sewage that has flooded the area south of Pond Road, north of Rumsey Road, east of Pamela Lane and west of Robin Lane, and spreading into drainage ditches, waterways, Burns Valley Creek and Clear Lake, officials reported.

Clearlake City Manager Alan Flora told Lake County News that multiple repairs were supposedly completed on Monday, but when he was on-site of the spill’s source in the afternoon, it was still leaking.

The city reported that an estimated 58 properties within the spill’s footprint have been directly impacted.

Gwalior, India

A pipeline burst cracked open the ground in Madhya Pradesh’s Gwalior, flooding the entire colony, on Sat night.

The incident took place in the Urban Green City area, where a major water pipeline burst with a loud blast.

The matter came to fore through CCTV footage of the incident, showing the ground in front of a house suddenly splitting apart and water spreading rapidly across the area. 

Due to the strong water pressure, cracks developed in nearly a dozen houses. 

Platforms outside several homes collapsed, household items kept outside were damaged and many houses were partially submerged.
