Russia 02.17.2026 — In the past week, in Russia, 9 people died from

falling snow and ice from roofs of houses, and at least 15 others were injured.

"We warned at the start of ZetaTalk, in 1995, that unpredictable weather extremes, switching about from drought to deluge, would occur and increase on a lineal basis up until the pole shift. Where this occurred steadily, it has only recently become undeniable. ZetaTalk, and only ZetaTalk, warned of these weather changes, at that early date. Our early warnings spoke to the issue of global heating from the core outward, hardly Global Warming, a surface or atmospheric issue, but caused by consternation in the core. Affected by the approach of Planet X, which was by then starting to zoom rapidly toward the inner solar system for its periodic passage, the core was churning, melting the permafrost and glaciers and riling up volcanoes. When the passage did not occur as expected in 2003 because Planet X had stalled in the inner solar system, we explained the increasing weather irregularities in the context of the global wobble that had ensued - weather wobbles where the Earth is suddenly forced under air masses, churning them. This evolved by 2005 into a looping jet stream, loops breaking away and turning like a tornado to affect the air masses underneath. Meanwhile, on Planet Earth, droughts had become more intractable and deluges positively frightening, temperature swings bringing snow in summer in the tropics and searing heat in Arctic regions, with the violence of storms increasing in number and ferocity."

Crews respond to several wildfires in the Texas Panhandle

High fire danger continues through at least Wednesday night
By Max Crawford and Cassidy Towns
Updated: 14 hours ago

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - Several wildfires have sparked in the Texas and Oklahoma Panhandles, with most at near 0% containment as of late Tuesday.

A strong low pressure system centered in the northern Great Plains has brought a due west wind over drought-stressed northern Texas, allowing wildfires to absolutely blossom Tuesday afternoon. A Red Flag Warning for critical fire danger continues through Wednesday night, with strong wind expected to continue through at least that time frame.

Ongoing coverage from our sister station in Amarillo can be found here.

If fire continues throughout the week, we may see some minor impacts of wildfire smoke as a northwest wind returns this weekend. Overall, any air quality hits are likely to be LOW, if at all. We will keep you updated as we move throughout the week.

Wildfires and strong winds prompt statewide response in Kansas

    • Feb 17, 2026 Updated 12 hrs aAshland, Kansas Fire

WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) — Wildfires and strong winds continue to threaten parts of Kansas, prompting a statewide response.

The Kansas Division of Emergency Management has activated the State Emergency Operations Center, working with the State Fire Marshal, Kansas Forest Service, Highway Patrol, Department of Transportation, and the National Weather Service. Task forces from Johnson, Sedgwick, Dickinson, Shawnee counties, and the Kansas National Guard have been deployed to support local responders.

Portions of I-70 in northwest Kansas and U.S. 50 in southwest Kansas are temporarily closed due to low visibility from smoke and dust, which have caused multiple crashes. Similar conditions have also affected Colorado and Oklahoma. Drivers are urged to delay travel, avoid driving in dust or smoke, and stay clear of active fire areas.

The Kansas Forest Service is providing expertise to local fire departments, helping prioritize limited resources, while the Kansas National Guard, local fire departments, and the American Red Cross are assisting with fire suppression, evacuations, and mass care for affected communities.

Officials warn that strong winds and wildfire threats are expected to continue into Wednesday and advise residents to stay alert for updates from emergency personnel. For the latest road conditions, visit kandrive.gov or call 511 in Kansas.

Colombia 2.12.26 — Severe floods in Córdoba have developed into a full-blown humanitarian crisis.

Record rainfall caused rivers to overflow their banks, flooding cities and agricultural areas.

Tens of thousands of people had to leave their homes, and at least 14 people lost their lives.

Animals were killed, and residential buildings and roads were severely damaged.

While relief efforts are ongoing, a state of emergency has now been declared.

At Least 31 Dead, 36 Injured After ‘Monstrous’ Tropical Cyclone Hits Island

"It looks like a catastrophic landscape," said one resident

NEED TO KNOW

  • Officials say 31 people have died due to Cyclone Gezani, which made landfall in Madagascar on Feb. 10
  • Another 36 people have been injured in the storm, while four people remain missing
  • This is the second cyclone to impact Madagascar in the last two weeks

More than 30 people have died as Cyclone Gezani tears across Madagascar, officials said.

The storm made landfall late on Tuesday, Feb. 10, with wind speeds of more than 121 mph as it impacted the island, which is home to more than 31 million people, according to the Associated Press and Al Jazeera.

A total of 31 deaths have been recorded, including 29 in Toamasina, the country’s second-largest city, and two in Ambatondrazaka, according to a statement shared by the National Office for Risk and Disaster Management (BNGRC) at 4:30 p.m. local time on Wednesday, Feb. 11.

Another 36 people were injured in the storm, and four people are now missing, the BNGRC said. More than 6,800 people have been displaced too.

Gezani has already caused a significant amount of damage, with one resident describing the devastation to Al Jazeera as “monstrous.”

Another resident, identified only as Michel, told the AP that there is much “devastation” on the island due to the storm.

“Roofs have been blown away, walls have collapsed, power poles are down, trees have been uprooted,” Michel explained. “It looks like a catastrophic landscape.”

A third resident, Harimanga Ranaivo, told Reuters, "I have never experienced winds this violent ... The doors and windows are made of metal, but they are being violently shaken."

Power has been shut off in Toamasina since Tuesday, according to the AP.

Authorities have warned that “widespread flooding, flash floods, and landslides are highly likely” as the storm pushes to the west on Wednesday, according to Al Jazeera.

Gezani is forecast to move into the channel between Madagascar and Africa’s east coast on Thursday, Feb. 12, and could even re-strengthen into a tropical cyclone before possibly hitting Madagascar’s southwest coast next week, the AP reported.

This is the second cyclone to impact Madagascar in the last two weeks, according to the AP and Al Jazeera.

The United Nations humanitarian office said the last storm, Tropical Cyclone Fytia, killed 14 people and left more than 31,000 people displaced, according to Reuters.
