Japan: A new island appears in the Ogasawara Islands - November 2013
Active volcanoes (Sep 28, 2012)
"Of course all volcanoes will explode, as this is going to be a very severe pole shift. What about the months and years preceding the pole shift? It is no secret that Mammoth Lake and the caldera of Yellowstone are warming up, and the populace has been prepared for these occurrences by the movie Volcano where there, in the middle of LA, lava is bubbling up. In fact, there is a fault line running from the approximate San Diego/LA area, up into the Sierras, and this is liable to rupture rather violently during one of the quakes that precedes the pole shift by some months. Volcanic eruptions from that area in the Sierras can be expected. Will Mount St. Helen erupt? All volcanoes that have been active within the memory of man will begin spewing and burping and oozing, and many that were not expected to become active will reactive. " ZetaTalk - Feb 15, 2000

Cleveland volcano
2013-02-06 12:34:31 - Daily Update
Elevated surface temperatures were detected in satellite images of Cleveland over the last 24 hours. The aviation color code and volcano alert level were changed to ORANGE/WATCH earlier today based on evidence that a new dome has formed in the summit crater of Cleveland. The dome is about 100 m in diameter and presumably formed starting January 24, 2013 when elevated surface temperatures were observed in satellite images.
The development of a lava dome in the summit crater indicates that sudden explosions of blocks and ash are possible with little or no warning. Ash clouds, if produced, could exceed 20,000 feet above sea level. If a large ash-producing event occurs, nearby seismic, infrasound, or volcanic lightning networks should alert AVO staff quickly. However, for some events, a delay of several hours is possible. There is no real-time seismic monitoring network on Mount Cleveland and AVO is unable to track activity in real time.

So far, scientists are unable to model the potential consequences of an awakening super volcano.
Latest studies show that the Phlegraen Fields have actually been swelling above sea level at a rate of 3 cm per month. Micro quakes and large amounts of gases accumulated in soil indicate that the volcano may be preparing to erupt, says Vladimir Kiryanov, Assistant Professor of Geology at the St. Petersburg University.
Worldwide Volcanic Activity Summary (Jan 26)
Currently erupting: 23
Eruption warning issued: 35
Restless: 58

The volcano has now entered a full-scale eruption. Lava flows descending on the flanks and glow at the summit were observed. A tall steam and ash plume rises 1.5 km above the volcano and drifts west. Additionally explosions have been reported which were heard in the sector of Reventador.
Seismic activity is strong and characterized by strong tremor and explosion signals.
Interestingly, but probably nothing than coincidence, Reventador and Tungurahua which is now calm, two of Ecuador's currently most active volcanoes, seem to alternate each other with phase of strong activity.
Volcanic activity at White Island is the most "vigorous" in years and could mean a large explosive eruption is imminent, GNS Science says.
The volcano, off the Bay of Plenty coast, is the country's most active and showed heightened signs of unrest last year.
But it is the increased hydrothermal activity in the last three weeks which is of "significant concern", GNS vulcanologist Brad Scott says.
"I don't think I've seen anything this strong since the late 90s and 2000s."

Underwater volcano in Black Sea damaged 160km of fiber-optic cable

Powerful Eruptions Continue on Stromboli (Jan 14)
Increased eruptions from Stromboli sparked fear among inhabitants but geophysicists said the situation was under control.
Strong explosive eruptions from the main NE vent continue to occur at intervals of 30 minutes approximately.
Another collapse of parts of the northern crater rim occurred today around 14:30 local time. Lava continued to issue from the NE cone and forms a lava flow with currently 3 branches, one of which reaches about 400 m elevation. Glowing rockfalls reach the sea.
During the afternoon, small pyroclastic flows generated by material sliding down the Sciara could be seen.
The volcano is active but on Monday there was a particularly powerful eruption and sustained lava flows following four days of heightened activity.
Stromboli is part of the seven-island Eolian Archipelago just off Sicily in southern Italy.

Russian Volcano Creates Unprecedented Lake of Lava (Jan 12) The Plosky Tolbachik volcano is emitting jets of hot lava up to 200 metres high and creating a lava lake.
Gennady Karpov, a volcano expert at Russia's Academy of Sciences in the Far East, said Friday: "There were no lava lakes at Kamchatka volcanos before now. We have never seen this before."
Its last eruption had occurred in November after the volcano was dormant for almost 40 years.
Russian officials said the current eruptions are not likely to end any time soon.
