Spain Experiences its Worst Train Accident in 40 Years An increase in train derailments was one of the first symptoms of the approach of Planet X to become noticeable, being expressed even before Planet X entered the inner solar system in 2003. Planet X was described as affecting the Earth from afar, like tugging on the edge of a spider web where the effects are felt elsewhere on the web; in this way there has been an increase in earthquakes and unpredictable weather going back years, even before Planet X entered the solar system, due to the increased swirling of the Earth’s core. It is therefore logical that an increase in train derailments would accompany any increase in seismic activity – train tracks need to be straight and even the slightest shift to the side of a section of track would cause a train to derail. The area most affected by train derailments is the stretch zone. Stretch zone quakes are silent, and people are generally unaware anything is happening, although signs such as booms and trumpet sounds can occur. This zone stretches from Western Europe across the Eurasian Plate, and also includes the South-East United States, the St. Lawrence Seaway, the Red Sea and the African Rift. In other parts of the world, shifting ground is more associated with earthquakes that people are aware of, such as the Pacific which is compressing, so authorities inspect railway tracks after any seismic activity, reducing the likelihood of accidents. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Some Examples (click on pictures for link): |

CHICAGO (AP) — Normal service resumed on the South Shore Line hours after the derailment of a commuter train in downtown Chicago halted service between the city and South Bend.
The train, which originated in Dune Park, Indiana, derailed Tuesday near the final stop of Millennium Station in the Loop business district. The train was traveling at a slow speed when the derailment occurred. Authorities say two people suffered minor injuries.
Officials said 18 cars were trapped at Millennium Station by the derailment.
Police say it happened around 6 a.m. after the engine hit a switch that was in the wrong position. The train derailed and damaged about 100 feet of track. Several roads were closed for hours while crews worked to get the train back on the tracks.
It's the second time this has happened in that spot and we asked police how it could be avoided.
"I don't have the answer to that," St. Albans Police Chief Gary Taylor said. "Certainly we will pursue anything we need to pursue. Maybe it's just a conversation about how we can improve."
The crossings at Lower Weldon Street and Lake Street have since reopened but railroad crews are still working in the area.
The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating that crash.

Pinebluff, N.C. — No injuries were reported after eight freight train cars derailed in southern Moore County early Monday morning.
Around 5 a.m., officials responded to the incident between Addor Road and Pinebluff Lake Road. According to officials, the train cars remained upright after the derailment, spilling none of the ash the train was carrying.
The tracks in the area of the derailment were torn from the ground and bent by the force of the derailing cars. The road around the tracks was temporarily blocked after the derailment.
According to authorities, there is no immediate hazard to the community from the sealed cars and their cargo.
A specialized rail crane is on the way to the scene of the accident from Richmond, Virginia to assist in placing the cars back onto the tracks to begin cleanup of the scene.

SAN FRANCISCO, May 20 (Xinhua) -- Two cars of a transit train derailed near a station south of San Francisco Saturday afternoon, apparently without causing any injury to passengers.
The Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) train had nine cars at the time, according to a posting by the regional transit authority on its Twitter social media account, adding that "everybody has been safely off boarded."
It took place near the BART station in Daly City, the largest city in San Mateo County located immediately south of San Francisco.
A BART spokesman told local KCBS radio station an hour after the derailment that the cause of the incident was unknown and the driver would be checked on as part of investigation.
A major delay was expected across the public transportation metro system serving the San Francisco Bay Area in Northern California, including service in the direction of San Francisco International Airport, also known as SFO.
Vowing workers would be trying hard, the spokesman declined to speculate when the service would be back to normal.

Authorities are on the scene of a train derailment in Pell City. [St. Clair EMA updates]
The derailment happened about 6 p.m. in the 5000 block of Cogswell Avenue, which is the portion of Highway 78 that runs through the city, near the Citgo service station. Pell City Police Chief Paul Irwin said as many as 30 trains cars went off of the tracks, crashing into one another.
"It's a mess,'' Irwin said.
The Norfolk Southern train was carrying cargo, not passengers, and there were no injuries. Those cars that crashed were separated from the train, which continued on for at least another mile before railroad officials realized what happened.
Irwin said the cargo included lumber, and steel coils. Norfolk Southern's Hazmat team is on the scene. It wasn't immediately clear what is leaking.
That portion of Highway 78 is shut down. Irwin said they expect to remain on the scene for hours and the rail line could be closed for days. Other tracks are available.
Crews are working to reopen Highway 78.

VELLORE: About 50 express and superfast trains and nearly 60 electric multiple unit (EMU) services between Arakkonam and Chennai were disrupted on Monday, after Chennai- Erode Yercaud Express derailed near Arakkonam in the wee hours of the day.
The incident occurred around 12.05 am, when Yercaud Express (No 22649) was on the first line in Tiruvallur-Arakkonam section between Arakkonam and Puliyamangalam stations. Though the train was moving at a slow speed, the locomotive and three coaches — sleeper-cum-brake van and two unreserved coaches — derailed with a bang. Luckily, no one was injured.
Though railway officials rushed to the spot, the non-availability of high-capacity cranes in Arakkonam hindered their work. When the crane operators tried to lift the engine, the rope came off under its weight. Two workers were injured in the incident and were admitted in Arakkonam Railway Hospital.
Nevertheless, the officials managed to remove three coaches from the track. The rest 20 coaches were later pulled back to Thiruvalangadu, located 18 km from Arakkonam. From there, the train proceeded to Erode with a new engine at 4.50 am.
EMU services between Arakkonam and Tiruvallur were cancelled. Even those from Chennai to Arakkonam and Tiruttani were terminated. Bengaluru-bound Brindavan Express, scheduled to reach Katpadi at 9.55 am, arrived at 3.15 pm. Similarly, all trains from Chennai to Bengaluru, Coimbatore, Mangaluru and Thiruvananthapuram were delayed by over three hours.
