"Stretch zones primarily experience sinking ground, as the support in the rock strata is stretched thin. Thus, buildings implode and gas and water mains break."  ZetaTalk

What happens to rock layers under a diagonal pull, or being pulled apart? As can be seen during recent years, this has resulted in derailing trains, sinkholes suddenly appearing, gas and water main breaks, torn roadways and separating bridges. Despite the effect on man, crawling about on the surface of what they assume to be terra firma, these changes are superficial. When the pulling starts, weak points break and thereafter the plumbing and roadways hold, giving the impression that the pulling has stopped, but this is misleading. The North American continent is giving evidence that its rock layers are separating from each other, and sliding sideways in a diagonal, thus exposing portions of these layers to vent into the air above. If rock is being stressed, then where are the earthquake predictors giving evidence of this, the frantic animals, the static on the radio, the earthquake swarms? Rock in the stretch zone, pulling apart rather than compressing, does not emit the particles flows that animals and radios sense, nor register on instruments are tension and release quakes.

"We have repeatedly stated that the Earth changes will not diminish, but will increase going into the pole shift.

This is not a lineal matter, as the closer Planet X comes to Earth, an inevitable path, the more the torque effect and the polar wobble where the N Pole of Earth is pushed away violently on a daily basis, occur. The wobble will become more pronounced, more violent. The plates are tugged back West of the Atlantic, pulled forward East of the Atlantic, during the daily rotation of the Earth. The North American continent is allowed to roll East during rotation while the S Pole is pulled West, creating the diagonal pull likely to trigger the New Madrid fault line into an adjustment, and soon. The N Pole is pushed away and allowed to bounce back, daily, as the Earth rotates, a wobble that puts stress on all fault lines when the plates are suddenly in motion, and suddenly stopped!

"As there is no other explanation for the effect on the stretch zone, lacking any earthquakes to blame, and as these stretch zone accidents will continue to emerge, and with ferocity, this is a certain clue to those on the fence, that the influence of Planet X is the cause. Or is it Global Warming?"

ZetaTalk Chat Q&A for April 13, 2013

"Sinkholes almost invariably form in areas subject to karst limestone cavern formation. Underground water flows eat away the limestone leaving vast caverns and caves, which often give scant indication above ground that a cavern lies below. Karst limestone rock formations have been mapped and are known, however, but since one never knows just where a cavern might have formed, this provides little help in predicting just where a sinkhole might form. Sinkholes open up when the rock is fractured due to stress from being in the stretch zone, from the bending of a plate, or due to torsion."

Fears of gas leak after massive sinkhole opens above gas main, leaving lorry marooned in Essex road

http://www.standard.co.uk/news/uk/fears-of-gas-leak-after-massive-s...

A lorry was this afternoon stuck straddling a giant sinkhole over a gas main after the road surface "opened up" underneath it.

A hazard zone was set up for 200m surrounding the hole and two gas pipes were exposed on either side of the road.

There was a "smell of gas" in the area, a spokesman for Essex Fire Brigade said.

Hogg Lane in Grays will be shut overnight, chiefs have said. The HGV - pictured in local reports as a Vacu-Lug lorry with an L plate on the back - will be left "exactly where it is" until surveyors come and inspect the road.

Sinkhole Reported at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport

Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport says a sinkhole was discovered near one of the runways in a safety area. Runway 18L is closed until repairs are complete. (Published Tuesday, May 26, 2015)

Runway 18L is back open at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport after a sinkhole was discovered nearby Tuesday morning, airport officials said.

The sinkhole developed in a grassy area about 250 feet between a taxiway and runway 18L after a section of a storm drain became dislodged from the main storm drain line, creating erosion of the soil around the drain, D/FW Airport Spokesman David Magaña said.

The opening was approximately 25-feet by 25-feet, however the exact depth was unknown.

Airfield inspectors found the sinkhole in what's called the safety area, according to Magaña.

Engineers determined the integrity of the runway remains intact, and the runway was not affected by the soil erosion, Magaña said.

The runway was back open by about 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Closure of the runway, one of the four longest at the airport, was having minimal impact on the airport, as the remaining six runways were operational.

Construction crews will begin making repairs on the storm drain Wednesday, but Magaña said the runway would not need to be closed during the repair work.

D/FW Airport reports it's the third busiest airport in the world for air traffic operations and sees approximately 174,000 passengers per day making it ninth in the world for passenger traffic.

Giant Sinkholes Continue to Grow and Multiply in Russian City (May 22)

The latest mysterious sinkhole that has appeared in a Urals city has grown in size four-fold in just three months, officials have said.

First spotted on February 17 during routine observations around crater-hit Berezniki, in Perm Krai, it was found to be just five metres in diameter. The fifth hole to have been found in the town in a decade, it was later measured at 7.5metres.

'At the moment the size of the hole is estimated at about 22 metres,' said Andrey Rodionov. 'It has extended due to the sliding of its walls but it is unlikely to have become any deeper, and is still nine metres deep.'

With a population of about 155,000 people, Berezniki is the second largest city in the Perm region.

There are now five holes around the city, with fears this will only grow. Residents living close to the craters have been moved away from the danger zone, but the threat remains.

The original sinkhole, locally called The Grandfather was initially 80metres long and 40metres wide, but has swelled to a much bigger size.

The building of a school, near the fifth hole, has been abandoned and the school moved to another location.

London City Airport delays: 'Hole' in the runway wreaks havoc to morning flights

http://www.standard.co.uk/news/transport/city-airport-delays-hole-i...

Flights were halted at London City Airport this morning by a "hole" which opened up in the runway.

Bosses confirmed departures and arrivals were being held while engineers carried out emergency repairs.

A spokesman for City Airport this morning could not confirm when flights would return to normal. There were scenes of queues at the busy airport with display screens showing a series of delayed and cancelled flights.

"Some minor but routine maintenance needed to be looked at [overnight] and the side effect of that is that the runway is closed," a spokesman said this morning.

Some passengers reported being held on board their planes for up to two hours as the work was carried out.

Seismic activity caused sink hole, water leak in Hollister, city says

HOLLISTER, Calif. —A water main leak in Hollister flowed under one man's house and caused a sink hole that swallowed part of his car.

"Saturday afternoon I went in the backyard and I (saw) water coming out of my basement door," homeowner Edward Perreira said.

Perreira said he has lived at his home on South Street for more than 40 years and he never dreamed he'd see this.

"I've seen sink holes in Florida and other places, but not here. And I have to be the lucky one," he said.

A small river of water flowed for three days under Perreira's home, causing it to lose its foundation. His car was parked in a concrete driveway when its rear tire was swallowed by a 4-foot wide sink hole.

City crews dug into the street Wednesday, found the origin of the problem and shut off the leak.

"This particular location the pipe crossed the fault, so yes wherever pipes cross the fault, this could happen," said Hollister Management Services Director Mike Chambless.

Chambless called it the Hollister geologic-creep phenomenon. A fault line running through the city and as the plates slowly shift, the pipe just snaps. Chambless said not many pipes run across the fault line, but the sewer line does.

"We're going to inspect the sewer lines to make sure that there's no problems there," Chambless said.

Chambliss said a second leak sprung up Wednesday night nearby along the same pipeline. That leak was quickly plugged up.

City engineers determined that the leaks and sinkhole were being caused by seismic activity in the Earth's crust. The pipe runs directly above the San Andreas Fault.

The San Andreas Fault is a strike-slip fault where the North American and Pacific tectonic plates sometimes touch and create earthquakes.

City representatives said they will foot the water bill, which they estimate being thousands of dollars.

As for Perreira's driveway, Chambless said it's too early to say. The road in front of his house will be closed as crews work tomorrow and next week to repave the street.

Depression Collapses Into Large Sinkhole at Cimarron, Saratoga

http://www.kiiitv.com/story/29046975/depression-collapses-into-larg...

CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
It was not too long ago when the City of Corpus Christi blocked off a depression in the road on Cimarron near Saratoga for fear of it becoming a sinkhole. Because of Tuesday mornings heavy rains, that's exactly what happened.

Burnaby sinkhole on Albert Street grows larger overnight

Metro Vancouver officials say the cause is under control and homes are not threatened

A large sinkhole that opened up in Burnaby, B.C., near the 4800 block of Albert Street on Monday has grown larger overnight according to worried residents.

Albert Street was closed between Gamma and Delta Avenues after the sinkhole was discovered, but on Tuesday morning residents said more of the road had collapsed overnight.

On Monday evening officials estimated the sinkhole was five metres long, two metres wide and more than a metre deep.

But Metro Vancouver spokesperson Marilyn Towill said while the road continues to settle, there is no more water coming down and the problem is not getting worse.

"There was quite a bit of gravel that washed out from underneath the asphalt road surface last night when the water was running down. Once that gravel is gone, then the asphalt will settle over time," she said.

"From what we have found so far, it is contained to the utility structure, and we have no concerns it going to threaten people's homes," she said.

The investigation into the exact cause is still underway, but it looks like the sinkhole was caused by the water utilities in the neighbourhood.

"The water came from a chamber up the hill. Looks like it undermined the road, ran along where some previous utility pipes had been running along the road, and has basically washed out the road base, and that's why we see some settlement," said Towill.

Crews will excavate the hole and rebuild the gravel base to repair the road, she said.

Sunset residents frustrated by recurring sinkhole

http://www.sfgate.com/bayarea/article/Sunset-residents-frustrated-b...

When Mike Wong noticed a depression in the street in front of his Sunset District home, he did what concerned citizens are supposed to do: He called 311 and reported the problem.
A city crew showed up bright and early the next morning and patched the 2-foot-wide chasm, and Wong thought everything was fine.
By 3 p.m., however, the asphalt patch had sunk 6 inches — and by nightfall the thing had completely opened up, forcing the fire department to come out to cordon off the area.
This was far from the first accordion act of open-patch-open for the sinkhole on the 900 block of Quintara Street between 18th and 19th avenues.

The city has repaired the same sinkhole five times since August and three times in April alone, said Rachel Gordon, a Department of Public Works spokeswoman.
Wong, a 45-year-old product developer who has lived on the block for 17 years, was happy the city responded so quickly, but the amount of time and energy that has gone into fixing what he sees as a simple hole is less than encouraging.
“I know it’s hard to get things done in this system and they are trying to get big things done,” he said. “But I’m afraid to know what’s bigger than a gaping hole in the street.”
It turns out the underlying problem lies under the street, as the city faces the daunting task of replacing its aging infrastructure.
