Hi Steve, thanks for the photo. I started studying it assuming that it was a typical lens reflection, but later on, I had my doubts about my idea. It doesn't look like a reflection because reflections are quite similar in shape to the original light source. The small orb has flares around it which the sun doesn't have. In my opinion, it can be a candidate for PX or a moon swirl.

This was taken just a few days ago in orange county California with a cell camera. We saw this with our eyes before taking the pic so we know it is not glare reflecting of the lens.

But the camera got saturated !

Hello Hamitha, again. To make myself clear I am posting the snapshots of my video recording made on 17 May 2008 in Urgup, Nevsehir, Turkey. The recording was continuous and I selected some of them to show what I mean. And, during the recording I was checking the sun through a developed X-Ray film, but there was no second sun, unfortunately. I am going there next week and I'll make some recordings during sunrise and sunset, I hope this time I'll catch PX.

Hi Hamitha, I have been after PX since April 2008 but have never been able to spot it yet. I haven't given up the hope. I have a Sony video camera and when I play it back I can take snapshots. After studying them, I realized that clouds can play tricks to the naked eye and machines. Since the density of water molecules are much higher than that of thin air, those molecules may function as tiny lenses and may split the source of light, the sun. I am not a professional photographer, however, I studied many pictures and did some research on photography. My conclusion is that the clouds played a trick here, but I am not sure; I am ready to change my opinion if people who have more knowledge in the area than me comments the other way around. I hope you will catch a doubtless image of PX soon.

I saw 2nd sun on 23rd April in my place, Malaysia. Actually i was taking sun set pics
