The crack opened in the top of Virgilio Barco neighborhood, home to no fewer than 40 families, most children no longer so small and harmless as a year ago. Now its width reaches seven meters in diameter at its birth and has a length of 70 meters, zigzagging down the mountain, slipping through between the backyards and fracturing everything in its path as if it were a curse from another world .
When The Review visited the mountain on Friday threatened nesting of the affected houses turned out the same people who lived there a year ago and that by order of the municipal administration should be elsewhere.
The risk with that now lives in that area, at first glance seems not to frighten those who still reside there. However, Nelly Torres, who lives with her seven children in a house full of cracks in floors and walls, full skirt of the hill, confessed that he is there for "physical need".
He admitted that last year the Mayor paid five months' rent in another neighborhood, but also claimed that the aid was suspended. "So I was obliged to return to my old house here in Virgilio Barco".
Five other families say the same thing happened and why reoccupied buildings erected on the hill where the fault line.
Luis Ferney Suarez, a young man who lives with four other people in a house 10 meters away where Nelly lives with their children, said he is afraid to live in through the cracks. "You know that at any time will open the earth, but where else I go if I have nothing."
