- "When the debris from the tail of Planet X first started arriving in ernest, in 2004, the establishment chose to call this space junk. When the public became alarmed at the amount of space junk falling to Earth they tried to enhance the story by claiming that two satellites had crashed into each other, but this just made a bad story worse. Since fireballs have not gone away, but continued apace and if anything gotten worse, a new term has been used - asteroids. This is debris in the tail of Planet X, which is increasingly turning toward the Earth, hosed out from the N Pole of Planet X. This is why the wobble has gotten more violent, why electromagnetic disruption of dams and airplanes has occurred, and why blackouts will become more frequent. Reports of a "bright light" and an "orange glow" were received by police across Scotland and the north of England around 9.40pm.
The Met Office tweeted: "Hi All, for anyone seeing something in the night sky, we believe it was a meteorite."
A spokesman for Strathclyde Police said the force had been "inundated" with calls about a bright object in the sky across the west of Scotland. A Durham Police spokeswoman said a number of calls came in around 9.45pm from concerned members of public who had seen a "bright light or a fire in the sky" and believed it may have been incidents involving an aircraft. "
It has been confirmed with air traffic control that there are no incidents of aircraftin difficult and nothing registered on radar," she said. "
The sightings are believed to be either an asteroid burning out or similar which has been restricted to the upper atmosphere only." Grampian Police said reports of people seeing a "flare or a bright object with a tail" were received from across the region. And Dumfries and Galloway Constabulary said numerous calls were made about a "large ball of fire in the sky" across Annandale and Eskdale.
One user wrote on the force's Facebook page: "It was awesome to see! Really big and bright!" Hundreds of people took to Twitter to report similar sightings across Scotland and the north of England. People described seeing a bright fireball moving across the sky with a large tail.
The Kielder Observatory also reported the sighting of a "huge fireball" travelling from north to south over Northumberland at 9.41pm. The Observatory posted on Twitter: "Of 30 years observing the sky #fireball best thing I have ever seen period."

Fireball Streaks Across Tri-State Skies
Hundreds of people in the tri-state area saw a fireball streak across the afternoon sky Wednesday afternoon, according to one scientific group.
The American Meteor Society, a nonprofit astronomy group, said that at least 150 people from northern Maryland to eastern New Hampshire reported seeing the fireball -- which the group describes as a meteor brighter in the sky than Venus, one of the brightest celestial bodies in a night sky -- at about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The group, which also aggregates reported sightings on a map, said that it appeared that the fireball traveled from northeast to southwest before ending its flight hundreds of miles southeast of the Long Island shore.
One New Jersey resident posted a dashcam video to YouTube showing the fireball crossing the sky in Monmouth County. The footage shows a bright light streak across the sky before disappearing.
According to the American Meteor Society, several thousand meteors capable of creating fireballs pass into the Earth's atmosphere every day. But the organization said the vast majority of those meteors pass over uninhabited regions or are masked by daylight.

Residents observing the full moon in China yesterday were stunned to see three meteorites exploding in the night sky.
The giant fireballs were said to flash across the sky over Shangri-La County in Yunnan Province, south-west China.
An eyewitness told MailOnline that two of the meteorites were small and one was large. Together, they lit up the sky for around five seconds.
Various clips on the Chinese social media, including one posted by Sina, show one meteorite turning into a great ball of fire as it quickly moved across the sky.
A worker at the Desti Youth Park Hostel in Shangri-La said he and many guests at the hostel saw the burning rocks last night at around 8pm.
The worker said they were sitting in the backyard of the hostel observing the full moon to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival, a traditional festival in China symbolised by the round, full moon.He said everyone was amazed when the rocks appeared in the sky.
The worker also said the meteorites landed in a small village around 40 kilometres (25 miles) outside of Shangri-La, as he heard.
Zhang Xingxiang, an expert from the Yunnan Observatories, Chinese Academy of Sciences, told China Central Television Station that the scene in the video looked like a bolide, which is a very bright meteor.
A local villager told the station that he heard a huge bang and felt the ground shaking. He said his pigs were so scared they ran out of the pigsty.
According to NASA, a fireball was observed yesterday at 12:07 GMT at 28 degrees north latitude and 99 degrees east longitude.
The time and location match with the reports provided by Chinese media and the eyewitness.
NASA reported that the fireball was observed at an altitude of 37 kilometres (23 miles) and it travelled at the great speed of 14.6 kilometres (nine miles) per second.

Fragmenting Fireball Over Netherlands (Sep 21)
AMS has received over 400 reports about a fireball seen over the Netherlands as well as neighbouring Belgium, France and Germany on Thursday around 19:00 UT.
From De Limburger, "Just after nine I saw a huge meteor above Heerlen," says Martijn Dassen. "A very fierce fireball that pulled a track behind. I did not hear any noise, but the sky lighted up. The fireball seemed to break in two before disappearing from my field of view behind the APG building."
The fragmenting meteor fireball was captured by the Leiden Observatory telescope.

Bright Fireball over Lancaster County, Pennsylvania (September 17, 2017)
The fireball was seen primarily from Maryland and Pennsylvania but was also seen from New York, Virginia, Delaware, New Jersey, Ohio and Massachusetts on September 17th, 2017 around 00:59am Eastern Time (04:59 Universal Time).
Eight witnesses near the Maryland/Pennsylvania/Delaware borders reported delayed boom sounds a few moments after the fall.
Charles Markarian caught the entire event on his dash cam from McAfee, New Jersey.

Green fireball spotted over Montgomery, captured by doorbell camera (September 19, 2017)
Igniting as it hurtled into the atmosphere about 54 miles above Highway 84 in Conecuh County [Alabama], the fireball flew well over the speed limit at approximately 83,000 mph.
It was spotted by three NASA cameras located in Georgia and North Carolina at approximately 3 a.m., but perhaps the best footage was captured by one Montgomery resident's doorbell camera.

Daytime Fireball Explodes over Mauritius and Reunion Island (Sep 14)
A very bright meteor fireball exploded over Mauritius and Reunion Island in the Indian Ocean on Thursday, September 14, 2017 around 18.00 pm local time.
A facebook report said, "I saw it was in Grand Bay. A meteor that enter Mauritius skies. A like a firework in full speed at about 6: 07 pm today." Some observers say the phenomenon was accompanied by a loud noise. After fragmenting the bolide left a smoky trail.
According to Thierry, a Reunion Island resident, "I saw a kind of ball passing in the sky, it lasted about 7 seconds, with a very straight trajectory ... It was multicolored in fact, it was a large ball of mauve color, blue , with a white, yellow streak." About four minutes after seeing this phenomenon, Thierry describes hearing an explosion before experiencing a tremor.

Bright fireball over Saint Petersburg, Russia (September 13, 2017)
A bright meteor streaked across the night sky over Saint Petersbug, Russia around 20:17 local time on September 11, 2017 and was observed and recorded by numerous witnesses.
The event lasted up to 7 seconds before the object disintegrated. According to preliminary data released by astronomers at the Pulkovo Astronomical Observatory near St. Petersburg the object was a bright meteor that completely burned in the atmosphere.

Unusually Bright Meteor Seen Over Iceland (September 13, 2017)
An unusually large and bright “shooting star” surprised many across Iceland last night.
The Stjörnufræðivefurinn Facebook page, which aims to promote interest in astronomy, has since provided more information about the meteor. It was spotted around 10:48 pm last night from the Reykjavík capital region, the West Fjords, North and South Iceland. According to the page, it likely entered the atmosphere at a speed of 20 km per second (12.4 miles per second), near the lower limit of velocity for meteors, and broke apart at a height of 20-30 km (12.4-18.6 miles). The page estimates the meteor was likely smaller than a tennis ball.
