The Brief

DALLAS - After a tornado reportedly damaged part of North Texas Saturday night, a new tornado watch was issued for much of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex overnight into Sunday morning.

Damage seen in Springtown after tornadic storm hits

Significant damage has been seen in Springtown, Texas, after a storm that dropped an apparent tornado ripped through the town.

Fatality confirmed: 12:20 a.m.

Officials in the Runaway Bay area confirmed that one person has been confirmed dead after a suspected tornado hit the town. At least 20 families were displaced, they said, and numerous people were injured. 

Emergency crews from Wise County and the American Red Cross are assisting in recovery. 

A Reunification Center has been established at 513 Port O' Call Drive, Runaway Bay. Families seeing loved ones or assistance are encouraged to report there.

Drooping Land caused by the New Madrid Adjustment is the cause of unusual weather in the Midwest of the USA.

Per ZetaTalk: Rising and falling land masses create upper-level atmospheric disturbances, amplified by the Severe Earth Wobble.

April 23 - severe weather, including tornadoes, in April has been unusually active in the Midwest while almost absent in the Southeast, where it's usually busiest in spring.

Severe Displacement
The number of tornado reports in the U.S. so far in April — 185 — is pretty typical.

But it's where they've happened, and where they haven't, that's been a bit odd.

As the map below shows, this month's tornadoes have almost exclusively been a Midwest and Plains thing. They've clustered in areas with lower April probabilities based on history, according to NOAA's Storm Prediction Center. The map of April tornado reports looks more like a May or June map.
