There has been much made of an earthquake in the recent past long the New Madrid fault line, as this was unexpected, being in a quiescent area, and thus raised all manner of questions regarding the possibility of massive earthquakes in areas presumed to be safe. Simply put, there are no earthquake free areas, and during the coming pole shift, all parts of the globe will be subject to them, without exception. Thus, individuals living in areas which have never experienced an earthquake should not presume safety but should take the same steps in preparing for the pole shift that those living atop highly active fault lines take - stay out of old or masonry buildings, and anticipate earthquakes as severe as any that mankind has ever experienced and noted.

Our description on the pole shift itself describes not a single jolt when the crust stops moving but a series of jolts. Most severe earthquakes are like this, in fact, if one examines their pattern. There are small quakes ahead of time, swarms, and jiggling that unsettles people as they sense something is pending. Then when the rock fingers that are preventing the fault line from sliding or subducting suddenly break, a large jolt. This often, within minutes, results in more jolts as the pressure that was at one point now moves to be pressure at the next point where rock fingers are holding the slippage. Aftershocks result, as yet more rock fingers break, until a point arrives where there is so much resistance to slippage that the quake and its after effects is considered complete.

For the New Madrid, which will include the European tsunami in its effects, there will be one large jolt with a subsequent and almost immediate tearing of the Atlantic. We have stated that the European tsunami will be the largest, but smaller ones will follow in time. Likewise for the New Madrid adjustment, which involve a tearing of the entire N American continent from the seaway down to Mexico. This adjustment will not occur until minor rock fingers have been steadily broken in a number of places. The areas to be affected have already been experiencing quake swarms, buckling roadways, sinkholes, breaking dams, and unsettling jigging which is unexplained by the authorities. When the primary blockage gives, there will be a huge jolt, with little warning. Aftershocks will continue until the time of the pole shift itself.

Road closure in AKRON, Ohio — According to the Ohio DOT, the following ramps will be closed from Thursday afternoon through Saturday morning, Dec. 20, for pavement repairs:

• The ramp from I-76 east to I-77 south
• The ramp from I-76 west to I-77 south

Prior to the closure, ODOT reported I-77 SB was reduced to 2 lanes at Wilbeth Road as crews suspected an issue with an underground water line.

90 earthquakes hit California in 30 days as USGS warns 72% chance of a ‘big one’

San Ramon sits atop the Calaveras Fault, one of California's most active seismic zones. Since early November 2025, at least 90 small earthquakes have rattled the East Bay, with the strongest, a magnitude 3.1, striking on December 16. While these tremors caused no significant damage, they've thrust seismic risk into the headlines and into the wallets of California's 10 million Bay Area residents.

The U.S. Geological Survey's 2014 Working Group on California Earthquake Probabilities, updated in 2016, forecasts a 72% chance that a magnitude 6.7 or greater earthquake, known as "the Big One," will strike somewhere in the Bay Area between now and 2043. This seismic activity, while unsettling, does not increase this probability. The forecast is based on decades of geological data, not recent activity.

Earthquakes stir fear in America's Heartland as deadly fault zone awakens | Daily Mail Online

A giant seismic zone in the heart of the US has seen dozens of tiny earthquakes break out in the last month, renewing fears of a catastrophic natural disaster soon.

Since mid-November, the US Geological Survey (USGS) has detected at least 38 low-level seismic events along the boundaries of the New Madrid Seismic Zone (NMSZ) in Arkansas, Kentucky, Missouri, and Tennessee.

The NMSZ is a large area in the middle of the US where hundreds of minor earthquakes have been recorded each year, with these light tremors being considered harmless and normal for the region.

None of the new quakes registered greater than 2.6 in magnitude, meaning it's unlikely residents felt them, but the fresh activity came almost exactly on the date and in the same location as the last major seismic event to erupt within the NMSZ.

The latest tiny tremor, a magnitude 1.8 quake, was recorded on December 15, just one day before the 214th anniversary of the devastating 1811-1812 earthquake swarm.

Between December 1811 and February 1812, a group of three powerful quakes over 7.0 in magnitude caused damage in cities such as Cincinnati and St Louis and was felt in states as far away as Connecticut and Louisiana.

Scientists have found that large quakes like these could happen in the NMSZ every 200 to 800 years, meaning the region is now well within the range for the next major disaster in the Midwest.

While the latest swarm this month falls within the range of normal seismic activity along the NMSZ, researchers still don't know the exact reason giant earthquakes even form here or when the next one will strike.
