Albino wild guinea pig discovered in Lima, Peru (Discovered August 2018)

The albino wild guinea pig was discovered in August 2018 in a marshland wildlife refuge within the city of Lima. In December 2019 the discovery was reported in the Peruvian Journal of Biology by researchers who say the albino wild guinea pig is the first ever recorded anywhere in South America, Central America, the Caribbean islands or the southern part of Mexico.

Rare Albino Deer Spotted In Pittsburgh Area

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A rare and beautiful albino deer was spotted in Allegheny County.

KDKA Viewer Dennis Beech shared photos and a video of an albino deer in his Ohio Township yard.

The deer could be seen hanging out near the birdfeeder.

Experts say the odds of an albino deer being born are about one in 20,000, while others say the odds are closer to 30,000.

Other albino deer sightings have happened in the Pittsburgh area before, including a baby albino deer spotted in McCandless Township in September.

Albino hummingbird spotted in Chardon, Ohio (September 4, 2019)

An albino ruby throated hummingbird was spotted several times over the past week in the backyard of a home in Chardon, Ohio. Hummingbirds are attracted to the yard by a variety of plants and a hummingbird feeder. A short video of the albino hummingbird in flight was recorded by the homeowner Andrea Gutka and photos were taken by her friend Jim Smallwood.

Albino bat discovered in Waverly, Iowa (July 19, 2019)

A young albino bat was discovered hanging on the metal screen of the front door of a resident's house in Waverly, Iowa. The bat was taken in by Black Hawk Wildlife Rehabilitation Project who are treating it for being underweight and dehydrated. The Project hopes to stabilize the health of the albino bat and release it to the wild.

Albino porcupine spotted in Kennebunkport, Maine (July 16, 2019)

A juvenile albino porcupine has been discovered living on the grounds of the Seashore Trolley Museum located in Kennebunkport, Maine. The museum held a vote to name the albino porcupine and it is now called Marshmallow.

(From August 2018) Two albino crows discovered in British Columbia, Canada

In August 2018, an albino crow in Gibsons, British, Columbia was saved from drowning and the attack of other crows, or perhaps ravens, who were driving him into the ocean. The albino crow, who was just a few months old, was not injured seriously and recovered quickly under the care of Gibsons Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre. He now lives permanently at the center and goes by the name Beano.
A couple weeks after Beano's rescue and just four or five blocks away, a second albino crow was found when he fell to the ground from a tree where he had been attacked by other birds. The second albino crow had severe head wounds however and died while in the care of the Gibsons wildlife center.
