Altering Earthquakes:

ZetaTalk Aug 7, 2010

As of late, I have observed that USGS and EMSC are a bit lax on their reports of earthquakes. Sometimes not seeing anything reported for hours from the last update, or seeing periods of 90-200 minutes with no earthquakes in between. My question is, are they leaving swarms of earthquakes out of their reports, or there are actually periods of no earthquakes?

SOZT:   Greater than 90% of the earthquake activity is being altered by the USGS at present, which is under orders to prevent any clue being given to the public about the Earth changes caused by the presence of Planet X. Over a decade ago, the approach was to de-sensitize the live seismographs periodically, so the displays do not turn black worldwide, and to ignore the twice-a-day patterns showing up on these seismographs. Then any quakes that could be dropped were dropped. This was obvious to some who were watching the database manipulation. Quakes in the list would suddenly disappear. This was particularly the case where a quake happened in a remote location, or out in the ocean. Dumbing down the magnitude quickly followed, but in order to ensure the public did not notice, the USGS took control of all websites reporting quake statistics. At times, this control breaks, and discrepancies are reported to the public. Some countries rebel. Quake swarms are another source of control, as they pepper the databases with many quakes and skew the statistics, and thus are pulled from the database. Else the question is raised, why so many?   EOZT

Will the USGS internet system be a reliable warning system for the European tsunami by registering on the net the New Madrid earthquake on the exact time it occurs?

SOZT:   It will not be a lack of information from the USGS that will be the point of confusion during the earthquakes leading up to the New Madrid adjustment, it will be knowing which quake is the big one vs the many minor quakes preceding it. The USGS downgrades almost all earthquakes, to prevent meaningful statistics from being generated from their databases. They also exclude quakes whenever they can, but this is unlikely to happen in the New Madrid area as it is in the center of a populated land mass. Thus you will have magnitude 6 quakes that will be called a 5.2, magnitude 7 quakes called a 6.1, and when a magnitude 8 or greater quake occurs, it will be called a 6.9.

We would advise that rather than watching the USGS quake statistics, that you watch the Earth changes. The adjustment that will incite the European tsunami will involve bridges on the Mississippi breaking, and being impassable. The land to the west of the Mississippi will drop so that the Mississippi will become 50 miles wide in the state of Mississippi. Watch for this. The New Madrid adjustment will be several large quakes of magnitude 8-9, though will be listed as a lesser magnitude. As the N American continent continues to unzip up to and along the Seaway, the quakes will be less than a magnitude 8 but very destructive to Cleveland and Toledo and Buffalo and the inland locks along the Seaway. Thus it is not what the USGS says that should be watched, but the condition of the bridges on the Mississippi, the impact on the cities along the Seaway, and whether the inland locks are reported as inoperable.   EOZT

Major quake in southwestern Peru

A major 7.0-magnitude earthquake rocked Peru Sunday, US experts said.

The quake hit at 2321 GMT 42 kilometers (26 miles) east-northeast of Tambo at a depth of 58.9 kilometers, the US Geological Survey said.

Located 471 kilometers southeast of the capital Lima, it hit at 23:21 GMT. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center cautioned that earthquakes of this size "sometimes generate local tsunamis that can be destructive along coasts located within 100 kilometers of the earthquake epicenter."

The Napa CA 6.0 M Quake shows shaking from the San Francisco Bay to Bakersfield along the San Andreas Fault and westward to Reno.  Aftershocks loom in the area over the next weeks.  The Zetas: "The August Magnetic Trimester is approaching, and it will be a doozy."

Injuries, Fires After 6.0 Quake Rocks Napa, State of Emergency Declared

http://www.nbcbayarea.com/news/local/60-Preliminary-Magnitude-Earth...

Gov. Jerry Brown declared a state of emergency after a 6.0-magnitude quake jolted the Bay Area early Sunday morning, igniting fires, damaging buildings, injuring dozens, knocking out power to tens of thousands and sending residents running out of their homes in the darkness..

The quake struck near southwest of Napa at 3:20 a.m. causing houses to shake in the center of San Francisco and knocking out power to more than 50,000 houses, according to the U.S. Geological Services. The USGS briefly upgraded the magnitude to 6.1 before downgrading it. The earthquake is the largest earthquake to shake the Bay Area since the 6.9 magnitude Loma Prieta quake in 1989, the USGS said.

"There's collapses, fires," said Napa Fire Capt. Doug Bridewell, standing in front of large pieces of masonry that broke loose from a turn of the century office building where a fire had just been extinguished. "That's the worst shaking I've ever been in."

Dazed residents too fearful of aftershocks to go back to bed wandered at dawn through Napa's historic downtown, where the quake had shorn a 10-foot chunk of bricks and concrete from the corner of an old county courthouse. Bolder-sized pieces of rubble littered the lawn and street in front of the building and the hole left behind allowed a view of the offices inside.

Napa Fire Department Operations Chief John Callahan said that the city has exhausted its own resources extinguishing six fires, transporting injured residents, searching homes for anyone who might be trapped and answering calls about gas leaks, water main breaks and downed power lines.

Two of the fires happened at mobile home parks, including one where four homes were destroyed and two others damaged, Callanan said.

There were at least 50 aftershocks, including four that were larger than 2.0 magnitude in Napa, ranging in size from 2.5 to 3.6 magnitude, according to the Geological Survey. USGS said between 30 and 70 small aftershocks could hit the area during the next week.

Dozens injured, 3 critically, after strong earthquake in California

(CNN) -- A 6.0-magnitude earthquake struck Northern California early Sunday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

It was the strongest earthquake to hit the Bay Area since 1989, when a quake struck during the World Series.

Sunday's earthquake struck 4 miles northwest of American Canyon, 6 miles southwest of Napa, and 9 miles southeast of Sonoma, according to the USGS.

The USGS estimated, based on their locations, that 15,000 people experienced severe shaking, 106,000 people felt very strong shaking, 176,000 felt strong shaking, and 738,000 felt moderate shaking.

"I've got a lot of broken wine, being here in Napa," said Emily Massimi, who was woken up by the quake. "We tend to collect wine, so I have wine all over my kitchen, and glass, and pictures off the wall and books off of bookshelves," she told CNN.

At Silver Oak Winery, owner David Silver spent the morning cleaning up hundreds of broken wine bottles that fell off the shelves.

"Those bottles were very unique," he said. They were part of his private collection and worth hundreds of dollars. "It's a tragedy, but it's nothing we can't overcome." Silver said he plans to open the winery today.

Specialist remark

For the past days several events have been measured at the Bárðarbunga caldera, at 2-6 km depth. The largest one occurred this evening at 23:50 UTC, of magnitude 4.7. These events probably occur due to pressure changes when magma from a magma chamber beneath the caldera is intruding eastwards into the dyke beneath Dyngjujökull.

Bárðarbunga caldera possibly lowering
Posted on August 21, 2014 by Jón Frímann

There are now clues that Bárðarbunga volcano caldera is getting lower. While there are no signs of imminent collapse such event might happen since this process has started. This explains the earthquake the activity in the caldera, that has been taking place for the past 48 hours.

Quote, " What this means in terms of an eruption I do not know, what I do know is that this type of event if it happens are never small and the following eruption might be huge. This is also going to change the landscape in Vatnajökull glacier forever (that is common thing in Iceland during an eruption cycles)."

There has also formed a 25 km long dyke trench in the crust that goes north-east at the moment. There are clues that it might be getting wider at this moment. It appears to have stopped going north-east for the time being.

An intrusion, 25 km long, has formed beneath Dyngjujökull, at a depth of 5-10 km

Activity in Bárðarbunga - ICELAND

August 17, 2014

Earthquake activity continues in Bárðarbunga volcano with no signs of stopping. Since midnight the total earthquake count for Iceland has now reached 578 (at 18:14 UTC) this number gets outdated quickly due the continuous earthquake activity in Bárðarbunga volcano. The total amount of earthquakes recorded yesterday was around 480 for the whole day, so it seems that earthquake activity has increased today from what it was yesterday.

The Icelandic Coast Guard surveillance plane has been called home from abroad in light of a possible eruption in Bárðarbunga volcano in the northwestern corner of Vatnajökull glacier, Southeast Iceland, ruv.is reports.

The plane, which is equipped with radar, cameras and other equipment ideal for the monitoring of eruptions

Code Orange Issued for Possible Eruption

http://icelandreview.com/news/2014/08/18/code-orange-issued-possibl...

A Code Orange has been issued in light of increased likelihood of an eruption in Bárðarbunga volcano located in the northwestern corner of Vatnajökull glacier, Southeast Iceland, after continued earthquakes in the area this morning, mbl.is reports.

The Icelandic Met Office, which oversees not only the weather but also earthquakes and possible volcanic eruptions in Iceland, increased the danger level from yellow to orange, which indicates that the volcano shows heightened or escalating unrest with increased potential of eruption. The next and highest level code is red, which is issued when an eruption begins.

Kristín Jónsdóttir at the Iceland Met Office told RÚV that magma was on the move under the glacier, trying to break up in two different locations.

Bárðarbunga is Iceland’s second highest mountain at 2,000 meters (6,562 feet).

Indications of an imminent eruption in Bárðarbunga will likely appear several hours beforehand if an eruption begins, according to geophysicist Magnús Tumi Guðmundsson.

Magnitude 3,3 earthquake in Kverkfjöll volcano- ICELAND

Posted on August 18, 2014

A minor earthquake swarm took place in Kverkfjöll volcano today (17-August-2014). This earthquake swarm might have been triggered by the earthquake activity in Bárðarbunga volcano that is next to it, that is however not confirmed and can be considered a speculation. Since connections between volcanoes is difficult to prove. The earthquake had the magnitude of 3,3 and depth of 9,5 km. This earthquake was felt by summer tourists in the area of Kverkfjöll volcano.
