Shut out of my AOL account

This morning as I went about signing into my aol account, I was prevented. I was told my account had been compromised and I needed to answer questions that I nearly couldn't remember. Instead of seeing a security question, I was asked what is the answer to your security question. Needless to say, I have had an aol account for more than 15 years and I didn't even remember the security question at the time so I proceeded to find another way to reestablish my account, then I was asked what the phone # was of the original account, daytime and evening and I couldn't remember what that # was from 15 years ago. Then I was asked what the last 4 digits were of the credit card # I had used when setting up the account and it just got worse and worse.

I went back to the original way of getting in and tried my hand at giving an answer to a question I couldn't remember and I just guessed.........bingo, I'm here.

I can only imagine what Egyptians are going through.

I am now wondering how many of you went through this this morning. I am a strong voice on facebook as someone who posts nearly everything from poleshift.ning and appropriate pieces from zetatalk as I find this a wonderful tool. I have friends all over the world and am always getting the message out.

Am I being tagged and was this a way to disturb me into quietude? I don't know but I'm not shaken, just more pissed off. The last thing I had been doing before going to bed last night was looking on ebay for a lightweight crossbow and a tazer shotgun (able to taze from 100' instead of close contact), which I found is only for police. Hmm, makes me think that our movements are queries are being monitored.

Anyone else going through this?

I feel in my gut that this is a warning.

I went to my e mail account the other day and found it has been "blocked" for security reason , I too am an avid lurker on this site and many other like it.....I just thought I was being paranoid and silly but this post makes me realise I m not....buy a FM/LW radio that uses batteries......"just in case" !!

I've spent the last 2 days being shut out again of my aol, having to re-log into several times before getting on and then to be faced with more than 50 returned mail messages with attachments that I dare not open. I normally have at least 80 emails every morning but after having to delete dozens and dozens of returned mail links, I had about 14 emails. I'm exhausted emotionally and I think that was the point.

Are any of you having extreme tech problems?

I posted my computer and other technical problems on a new more specific blog titled "Computer Problems on the Rise"? but it was deleted by the mods. It wasn't directly pertinent to the Earth Changes. I understand their reasoning but I wish I could know how many more people are going through this headache of a problem. My daughter who is a hotmail person is today having the same problem with messages coming back to her saying undeliverable but they were messages she never sent to begin with and actually had things like How are you? or Trying to reach you.....to specific people that she knows.....when she never sent such a message. This is all happening on my laptop as this is the computer she also uses every night to check her emails. We have another pc in the house that my little girl uses but she only talks to friends on fb and or is on an artist site, drawing. I know her computer is very fast as I use it sometimes when I need to do something speedily but I haven't asked her if she's having a problem. Lizzy, I know exactly what's happening to you with waiting forever to load a site and then being disconnected because it took too long. There must be hundreds of people on this site going through this also. Just wish I knew.

Read this great advice again.....perhaps time to log on at internet cafe for certain things not using own PC. I don't think this is paranoia....its practicality. There will be a crack down at some point...best avoid it and keep on line as long as possible.

I agree. I now just got a blunt email from someone I'm not sure I even know because it was just a first name saying for me to stop using their email and sharing it. I'm left to scratch my head wondering what on earth is happening. I'm in a very rural area with not a single internet cafe around for at least 40 miles, no library as it's been shut down and the next 1 is 20 miles. You might not be hearing from me for a while if this persists. :)

Same here, Starr. I live remotely. There is a Rural Transaction Centre with computers but it is anything but private. My next is 1.5 hours drive away, but I will use it if needs be. I have had problems with service at home (satellite) in recent times, so I am looking at the options. Love to you, I don't mind Newsletter type communications if easier.
