"The causes of landslides are not a mystery to mankind. Layers of rock and soil such that rain running along a clay or rock layer can create a slippery surface for the weight of the layers above it is a common cause. A rock jumble from previous mountain building, broken or fractured rock easily dislodged. We have stated that the earthquakes man experiences between the periodic passages of Planet X can be considered aftershocks from the last passage, and this is true of landslides also. Mountain building rumples the landscape, so the land is not flat but has steep ravines and hill sides. Older mountain ranges are recognized for their rounded or smoothed appearance, because of frequent landslides distributing the rubble.

"As we approach another passage, another Pole Shift, the pace of landslides has picked up. Why would this be? Plates under pressure will put pressure on regions that contain rumpled hillsides and deep ravines, as these give more readily than strictly flat land, thus act as a weak link. In addition, due to the wobble, the weather has gotten more extreme, with drought and deluge increasing in extremes. Dry ground, suddenly flooded with rainwater needing to seek its level as runoff, will create internal water slides between the rock and soil layers that constitute the rumpled hillsides. Is there an early warning system that mankind could use? The trembles that soil about to slide emits could be detected, yes. These are not earthquakes, and have their own frequency. "

Mexico: The landslides continue in Lomas del Rubí.

Apr 20, 2018

The neighbors of the houses that are still standing in the neighborhood of Lomas del Rubí saw their rest interrupted when they heard the opening and enlargement of a new crack in the Avenida Liberal Patria avenue on Thursday night.

For a little over two months, inhabitants of the Lomas del Rubí neighborhood witnessed how what began as a small fault in one of the streets spread until the landslide resulted in the collapse of 90 homes.

In spite of the landslides, it seemed that the disaster had stopped in the Liberal Patria Patria avenue, where the buildings remained standing and undamaged.

However, on Thursday night a crack appeared in the road, which spread and caused another house to collapse and three others to slide and are about to collapse.

Landslide destroys property of 500 families in Kerio.

Kerio Valley locals are appealing for aid after a landslide swept away crops and injured one person in Keiyo North.

A heavy downpour caused a massive movement of rock boulders from the Kerio hanging valley, destroying banana and mango plantations in Cheptarit on Tuesday.

Locals said the boulders destroyed water pipes, leaving Chekilet Secondary school and Cheptarit Primary school without water.

A resident Joseph Cheruiyot said at least 500 families lost property of unknown value during the incident.

Fatal Rockslide in Spain (Apr 16)

A major rockslide occurred at Castell de Mur, in Catalonia, Spain, killing two motorists.

The landslide came off of a steep scarp and swept across and buried a highway.

Unfortunately there was a car on the road at the time, and the two occupants were killed.

Estimates suggest that this rockslope failure had a mass of about 50,000 tonnes, and a volume of about 20,000 cubic metres.
