Altering Earthquakes:

ZetaTalk Aug 7, 2010

As of late, I have observed that USGS and EMSC are a bit lax on their reports of earthquakes. Sometimes not seeing anything reported for hours from the last update, or seeing periods of 90-200 minutes with no earthquakes in between. My question is, are they leaving swarms of earthquakes out of their reports, or there are actually periods of no earthquakes?

SOZT:   Greater than 90% of the earthquake activity is being altered by the USGS at present, which is under orders to prevent any clue being given to the public about the Earth changes caused by the presence of Planet X. Over a decade ago, the approach was to de-sensitize the live seismographs periodically, so the displays do not turn black worldwide, and to ignore the twice-a-day patterns showing up on these seismographs. Then any quakes that could be dropped were dropped. This was obvious to some who were watching the database manipulation. Quakes in the list would suddenly disappear. This was particularly the case where a quake happened in a remote location, or out in the ocean. Dumbing down the magnitude quickly followed, but in order to ensure the public did not notice, the USGS took control of all websites reporting quake statistics. At times, this control breaks, and discrepancies are reported to the public. Some countries rebel. Quake swarms are another source of control, as they pepper the databases with many quakes and skew the statistics, and thus are pulled from the database. Else the question is raised, why so many?   EOZT

Will the USGS internet system be a reliable warning system for the European tsunami by registering on the net the New Madrid earthquake on the exact time it occurs?

SOZT:   It will not be a lack of information from the USGS that will be the point of confusion during the earthquakes leading up to the New Madrid adjustment, it will be knowing which quake is the big one vs the many minor quakes preceding it. The USGS downgrades almost all earthquakes, to prevent meaningful statistics from being generated from their databases. They also exclude quakes whenever they can, but this is unlikely to happen in the New Madrid area as it is in the center of a populated land mass. Thus you will have magnitude 6 quakes that will be called a 5.2, magnitude 7 quakes called a 6.1, and when a magnitude 8 or greater quake occurs, it will be called a 6.9.

We would advise that rather than watching the USGS quake statistics, that you watch the Earth changes. The adjustment that will incite the European tsunami will involve bridges on the Mississippi breaking, and being impassable. The land to the west of the Mississippi will drop so that the Mississippi will become 50 miles wide in the state of Mississippi. Watch for this. The New Madrid adjustment will be several large quakes of magnitude 8-9, though will be listed as a lesser magnitude. As the N American continent continues to unzip up to and along the Seaway, the quakes will be less than a magnitude 8 but very destructive to Cleveland and Toledo and Buffalo and the inland locks along the Seaway. Thus it is not what the USGS says that should be watched, but the condition of the bridges on the Mississippi, the impact on the cities along the Seaway, and whether the inland locks are reported as inoperable.   EOZT

Please collect earthquake-reports here. Significant Quakes or Magnitude 7+ can be posted separately.

Over 1,200 Earthquakes in Reykjanes, Eruption “a Possibility

Over 1,200 earthquakes have been recorded at Fagradalsfjall on the Reykjanes peninsula since 10 PM yesterday. Scientists from the Icelandic Meteorological Office and the University of Iceland will meet with the Department of Civil Protection and Emergency Management to discuss the situation at 9 AM. A natural hazards expert with the Icelandic MET Office told RÚV this morning that if the activity continued there was “a possibility that an eruption could occur within a few days.”

    Increasing uplift since April
As reported yesterday, increasing uplift (land rise) – a sign that magma is collecting below the surface – has been measured on the Reykjanes peninsula since the beginning of April. The peninsula has been the site of Iceland’s two most recent eruptions, in 2021 and 2022.

As of early yesterday, there seemed to be no indication that an eruption was imminent. Since 10 PM yesterday, however, over 1,200 earthquakes have been recorded at
Fagradalsfjall on the Reykjanes peninsula. Eight earthquakes have been measured above 3 in magnitude. The largest earthquake is believed to have been at a magnitude between magnitude 3.6 and 3.7.

As reported by Vísir, it is believed that the earthquakes originated with a magma intrusion at a depth of about 5 kilometres. “This is definitely a lot of activity, and we take it seriously,

As reported by various outlets this morning, the earthquakes have been felt on the Reykjanes Peninsula, in the capital area, and the town of Akranes. Vísir notes that continued seismic activity is to be expected in the coming days.

    https://www.facebook.com/groups/1459098557703754/?multi_permalinks=...¬if_id=1688552998888682¬if_t=group_activity&ref=notif

Thor Thordarson has said that the current seismic activity on Reykjanes Peninsula now indicates that a volcanic eruption is imminent. The seismic activity is rather shallow, or at a depth of 3-6 kilometers, and it is clear that the earthquakes are related to magmatic movements. Therefore, it can be assumed that the magma has come quite close to the surface.
The IMO has changed the Aviation Alert status for Fagradalsfjall to Orange (Volcano is exhibiting heightened unrest with increased likelihood of eruption.)

Earthquake in Neuquén: the warning that shook midnight
In the first minutes of this Monday, a strong earthquake was felt in the province. A message on local phones warned of the situation.

The most striking thing was the earthquake alert message that reached most of the phones, which surprised the neighbors after midnight.

Chilean media indicated that the movement had been "strong and for several seconds" so people had left the buildings due to protocol.

What is the cell phone notification about?
From the Civil Defense of the Province they indicated to LMN that "it is a Google program that is not official"

Horror as at least 296 people in Morocco are killed with hundreds more injured after a powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 6.8 hits the country

Morocco's biggest earthquake in over 120 years struck south of Marrakech on Friday night, killing almost 300 people and leaving over 150 injured.

Marrakech's hospitals saw a 'massive influx' of injured people, AFP reported.

The earthquake measuring 6.8 on the Richter scale struck Morocco's Atlas Mountains, causing tremors as far away as Portugal.

Morocco's Interior Ministry said that at least 296 people had died in the provinces near the quake, with another 153 injured. The epicenter was 40 miles south of Marrakech.

At least 296 people have died in Morocco near the quake with another 153 injured

Though earthquakes are relatively rare in North Africa, a magnitude 5.8 tremor struck near Agadir and caused thousands of deaths in 1960.

'Earthquakes of this size in the region are uncommon, but not unexpected,' said the USGS.

'Since 1900, there have been no earthquakes M6 (magnitude 6) and larger within 500 km of this earthquake, and only 9 M5 (magnitude 5) and larger earthquakes.'

The USGS predicted that 'significant damage is likely and the disaster is potentially widespread', noting that many people in the area reside in structures that are 'highly vulnerable to earthquake shaking'.

The epicenter of Friday's tremor was high in the Atlas Mountains roughly 70 kilometers (43.5 miles) south of Marrakech. It was also near Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa and Oukaimeden, a popular Moroccan ski resort.

The USGS said the epicenter was 18 kilometers (11 miles) below the Earth's surface, while Morocco's seismic agency put it at 8 kilometers (5 miles) down.

The quake was felt as far away as Portugal and Algeria, according to the Portuguese Institute for Sea and Atmosphere and Algeria's Civil Defense agency, which oversees emergency response.
