Altering Earthquakes:
As of late, I have observed that USGS and EMSC are a bit lax on their reports of earthquakes. Sometimes not seeing anything reported for hours from the last update, or seeing periods of 90-200 minutes with no earthquakes in between. My question is, are they leaving swarms of earthquakes out of their reports, or there are actually periods of no earthquakes?
SOZT: Greater than 90% of the earthquake activity is being altered by the USGS at present, which is under orders to prevent any clue being given to the public about the Earth changes caused by the presence of Planet X. Over a decade ago, the approach was to de-sensitize the live seismographs periodically, so the displays do not turn black worldwide, and to ignore the twice-a-day patterns showing up on these seismographs. Then any quakes that could be dropped were dropped. This was obvious to some who were watching the database manipulation. Quakes in the list would suddenly disappear. This was particularly the case where a quake happened in a remote location, or out in the ocean. Dumbing down the magnitude quickly followed, but in order to ensure the public did not notice, the USGS took control of all websites reporting quake statistics. At times, this control breaks, and discrepancies are reported to the public. Some countries rebel. Quake swarms are another source of control, as they pepper the databases with many quakes and skew the statistics, and thus are pulled from the database. Else the question is raised, why so many? EOZT
Will the USGS internet system be a reliable warning system for the European tsunami by registering on the net the New Madrid earthquake on the exact time it occurs?
SOZT: It will not be a lack of information from the USGS that will be the point of confusion during the earthquakes leading up to the New Madrid adjustment, it will be knowing which quake is the big one vs the many minor quakes preceding it. The USGS downgrades almost all earthquakes, to prevent meaningful statistics from being generated from their databases. They also exclude quakes whenever they can, but this is unlikely to happen in the New Madrid area as it is in the center of a populated land mass. Thus you will have magnitude 6 quakes that will be called a 5.2, magnitude 7 quakes called a 6.1, and when a magnitude 8 or greater quake occurs, it will be called a 6.9.
We would advise that rather than watching the USGS quake statistics, that you watch the Earth changes. The adjustment that will incite the European tsunami will involve bridges on the Mississippi breaking, and being impassable. The land to the west of the Mississippi will drop so that the Mississippi will become 50 miles wide in the state of Mississippi. Watch for this. The New Madrid adjustment will be several large quakes of magnitude 8-9, though will be listed as a lesser magnitude. As the N American continent continues to unzip up to and along the Seaway, the quakes will be less than a magnitude 8 but very destructive to Cleveland and Toledo and Buffalo and the inland locks along the Seaway. Thus it is not what the USGS says that should be watched, but the condition of the bridges on the Mississippi, the impact on the cities along the Seaway, and whether the inland locks are reported as inoperable. EOZT
Please collect earthquake-reports here. Significant Quakes or Magnitude 7+ can be posted separately.

Strong Earthquake in Oklahoma Rumbles Though 9 States (Nov 19)
A 4.7 magnitude earthquake struck northern Oklahoma Thursday night.
Kansas and several other neighboring states also felt as many as four quakes this evening.
The earthquake in northern Oklahoma sent tremors through the Sooner State and was felt as far away as Tuscon, Arizona.
Oklahoma has had more 4.0+ quakes this month than ever before.
The earthquake did not cause significant damage, but it also frightened so many birds that, when they took to the skies en masse, they showed up on the National Weather Service's Doppler Radar.
Oklahoma City’s KOCO 5 News reports that the first and strongest earthquake was Oklahoma’s largest since 2011.

Late-night earthquake rattles Pakistani capital, Afghanistan (12/25/15)
ISLAMABAD (AP) — A strong earthquake shook parts of Pakistan and Afghanistan early Saturday, rattling buildings and forcing sleeping residents out of their homes.
More than 30 people were injured as houses or walls collapsed in the northwestern Pakistan city of Peshawar, said emergency rescue service spokesman Bilal Ahmed Faizi. A total of 41 people were taken to hospitals in the city, according to doctors and rescue officials.
Pakistani official Ghulam Rasool told The Associated Press that the magnitude-6.9 quake was centered in Tajikistan near the Afghan border, beginning after midnight and lasting for 59 seconds.
However, the U.S. Geological Survey reported that the quake measured at magnitude 6.2 and was centered in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan. Twitter users in the Afghan capital, Kabul, reported feeling the tremors.
Hamid Nawaz, the head of Pakistan's disaster management authority, said they were still assessing damage. He confirmed that some old homes and walls collapsed in Peshawar, but he refused to share further details.
Some people panicked and ran out of their homes in New Delhi and other parts of northern India. But there were no immediate reports of fatalities or major property damage, the Press Trust of India news agency reported.
The quake was also felt in the Kashmir region. In Pakistan's capital, Islamabad, some residents remained outside their homes despite the chilly winter weather, fearful of aftershocks.
Sahiba Khan, an 18-year-old student, said she was reading when the earthquake jolted her home. All of her family members emerged, reciting verses from the Quran.

Deadly earthquake rocks India's northeast region
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/india/12079772/At-le...
The death and injuries were caused by falling debris in and around Imphal, the capital of Manipur state, police said.
India's Meteorological Department said the epicentre of the quake was in Tamenglong region of Manipur state.
It struck before dawn on Monday at a depth of 17 kilometres (about 10 miles) in the India-Myanmar border.
The US Geological Survey said the quake hit at 4:35 am (2305 GMT Sunday) 29 kilometres (18 miles) west-northwest of Imphal.
The Press Trust of India (PTI) news agency said buildings had collapsed near the epicentre and the electricity supply had been cut in parts of Manipur, which borders Myanmar and has a long history of separatist unrest.
Nearly 60 victims were being treated for their injuries in hospitals in Bangladesh, where the earthquake triggered panic on the streets of major cities.
One 23-year-old Bangladeshi man died after suffering a stroke when he ran out of his house, while another two people - a farmer and a university official - died of heart attacks, police said.
One of the wounded was a university student who jumped from a fourth-floor balcony and was in a critical condition.
There were similar scenes in the northeast Indian city of Guwahati, the main commercial city of the mineral-rich state of Assam, where an AFP correspondent said residents were "in a state of shock" after being woken by the shaking.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted that he had spoken to local authorities in Assam about the impact of the quake.
The tremors were felt as far away as Kolkata some 600 kilometres distant in the Indian state of West Bengal, where buildings shook.
"Many people were seen coming out of their homes in panic," said local resident Rabin Dev.
India's seven northeastern states, joined to the rest of the country by a narrow sliver of land, are located in an area of frequent seismic activity.
In 1950, dozens of villages were swallowed in a string of disasters generated by a powerful earthquake whose epicentre was in Tibet but which caused the greatest destruction to India's Assam state.
More than 1,500 people died in the quake, which had a magnitude of 7.6, and its disastrous aftermath of landslides and floods.
There were no immediate reports of casualties on the Myanmar side of the border, a remote and sparsely populated area that suffered widespread damage this summer from landslides caused by torrential monsoon rains.
The USGS has raised its assessment alert for casualties and damage to orange, meaning there is a 33 percent chance of between 100 and 1,000 fatalities.

Pacific Northwest: Effects of Silent Quakes
SEATTLE - Since December 22, scientists in the U.S. and Canada have been tracking what some call a "silent earthquake" that's still going on about 12.5 miles below the Olympic Peninsula and Vancouver Island. But glasses don't rattle on the shelves, nobody feels a thing.
Also known as "slow slip" or "deep tremor" in scientific circles, over a period of weeks this fault movement can release almost as much energy as the 6.8 magnitude Nisqually earthquake that caused serious damage in western Washington in February of 2001. But Nisqually released its energy in just seconds.
Before the year 2,000, nobody knew these silent quakes even existed. Now they know they happen around the Pacific Ocean, and they happen regularly, about every 14 months. They are detected with sensitive seismic instruments and global positioning antennas. Scientists hoped learning more about them could provide a path to predicting large megathrust earthquakes that occur around the Pacific Rim, some that can reach magnitude 9 and could kill tens of thousands by bringing down buildings and triggering tsunamis.....

Over 50 Quakes Rock Italy's Molise (Jan 18)
While nobody was seriously hurt and there wasn't any severe damage to property, the earthquakes measured over the magnitude of 2.0 on the Richter scale.
But all the quakes had epicenters just a few kilometers from Campobasso, which frayed the nerves of residents in the area.
The largest of the tremors came on Saturday, when a 4.3 magnitude quake caused people to hurriedly evacuate their buildings and rush onto the street in spite of the freezing temperatures and snow.
Since then, there has been little respite for residents. Another quake of 3.6 was registered just after 11pm on Sunday night and was strongly felt by locals, especially those living on higher floors.
Following the quakes, president of Molise, Paolo Frattura, called an extraordinary meeting with local mayors in the region around Campobasso on Sunday.
Schools were closed in the region's capital and 60 surrounding towns on Monday so that the structural integrity of buildings could be checked. Lectures were also suspended at the University of Molise.

Houses Explode, Neighborhood Evacuated after Alaska Quake (Jan 24)
Four homes were destroyed and an entire neighbourhood had to be evacuated after a gas leak was reported, Kenai police Chief Gus Sandahl said Sunday morning.
A home neighbouring the one on fire exploded hours after the quake, Sandahl said. All firefighters and gas utility workers were accounted for, and there were no reports of injuries.
Crews were still trying to resolve the gas issue nearly eight hours after the earthquake.
A second home was destroyed in gas leak explosions and another two were fully engulfed in flames before firefighters determined it was safe enough from gas for them to enter the homes.
Barta, who has lived in Anchorage for about 10 years, says Alaskans on social media say the earthquake woke them up.
People were saying on social media that the earthquake "was the biggest I ever felt as long as I have lived here," Barta said.
The quake -- centered about 162 miles southwest of Anchorage -- left thousands of people without power overnight.
The quake also ripped a section of Kalifornsky Beach Road at Mile 1, making the road impassable. The road connects Kasilof and Soldotna.
"Everything was flying off the shelves," said Bob Candopolous of Seward. "It was tough to get to the front door to get out of the house."
USGS initially reported it as a magnitude-7.1, but downgraded shortly after to magnitude-6.8 before raising it back to 7.1.

EIGHT - A Chain Of Earthquakes Strike New Jersey! - Jan 28
https://www.superstation95.com/index.php/world/825
EIGHT earthquakes jolted New Jersey within about an hour today, the first striking about 1:10 PM EST. Folks as far north as Old Bridge, Monmouth County felt it, as did folks in Toms River, Manahawkin, Atlantic City down to Cape May.
A second jolt came about ten minutes later, around 1:20 PM EST, and was described by those who felt it as a "wave motion" from the ground. "Felt the earth move under my feet in Toms River," reported Taneil Sharkey at 1:38 p.m. today.
A THIRD jolt took place at about 2:04 PM EST, felt in the same region as the ones listed above. The third tremor was felt Brigantine, this one bigger, enough to bring neighbors outside.
The FOURTH quake struck at about 2:14 PM EST and was described as larger still! These quakes seem to be getting stronger as they occur, which could mean they are "foreshocks" to a very large quake. What's troubling is that these earthquakes are taking place in a section of New jersey that has NO SEISMIC FAULTS.
In Ocean County, the Police dispatch Center for Little Egg Harbor has been deluged with calls from citizens asking about a "sonic boom or something. In Mystic Island, Roman Isaryk says the shaking "lasted about 10 seconds," adding that there are reports from around the area.
Jim Farmer, a homeowner in Bayville, said his "whole house shook back and forth quickly" for about five seconds. Five minutes later, it happened again, and a third time just after 2 p.m..
"It was bizarre and alerting for sure," he said. "I'm used to feeling the explosions from military testing at the (Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst), but these were profoundly different as they carried on and were rattling everything for a period of time."
The US Geological Survey is NOT reporting any earthquakes (yet) but four clearly took place in central to southern New Jersey within the hour!
There has been speculation that the incidents were actually sonic booms from aircraft flying over the ocean, but that explanation does not fit the facts. Too many homes over too great a distance have been affected for it to be sonic booms. In addition, An Official at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst said that “the base was not conducting any sort of exercises that would have caused a sonic boom or other shaking."
On the map below, the Green line traces the places where the quakes have been felt -- a line about 144 road miles long!
UPDATE 3:38 PM EST -- Reports now coming in from Long Island, NY, and states in New England of similar shaking of homes, windows, doors.
New Jersey State Police Dispatchers have radioed Troopers that a "seismic blast took place over the ocean." What the hell is a seismic blast? Never heard of it! Oh, and where did they get this info? Perhaps someone just made it up?
Several folks in central New Jersey reported a brief power outage just before the shaking began, power off - then - on.
One person in Southern New Jersey marked the precise times these events took place, as follows:
13:24
13:32
14:03
14:18
14:23
14:27
14:32
14:36
The North American Aerospace Defense command (NORAD) says they are not tracking anything along the eastern coast which could account for a sonic boom.

More on the New Jersey 'sonic booms'.
Unexplained Shaking Felt in New York, New Jersey, New England (Jan 28)
Unexplained shaking was reported from southern New Jersey up into Connecticut Thursday afternoon, and many residents went to social media to share their experience.
Some said it felt like multiple earthquakes, while others thought they seemed more like sonic booms. The first posts referencing the shaking were seen just before 1:30 p.m. local time Thursday afternoon.
"Everybody's outside right now yelling to each other about what it was," Brigantine, New Jersey, photographer Lori Nichols told NJ.com. "Across the street, someone said their room was shaking."
According to the Earth Institute, there were at least three earthquake tremors in New Jersey, and they were gathering information from their seismometers.
There have been no reports of damage or injuries, but the Brigantine Police Department has asked citizens to stop calling 911 in order to keep the lines open for emergencies.
Here's what some people in the area had to say as they felt the ground shaking:
The U.S. Navy released a statement indicating aircraft from Naval Test Wing Atlantic conducting routine flight testing between 1:30 and 2:30 pm in the Atlantic Test Ranges may have caused sonic booms.
A geophysicist with the U.S. Geological Survey said there were nine total booms over the span of 90 minutes.

'Hundreds trapped' in collapsed buildings after 'enormous' 6.4 magnitude Taiwan earthquake
BUILDINGS have collapsed in Taiwan following a 6.4 magnitude earthquake that shook the island.
TWITTER
The building which is believed to have collapsed in TainanThe quake, initially reported as a magnitude 6.7, was struck 27 miles southeast of Tainan, a city of nearly two million people in the south of Taiwan.
Photos of a building moments before its collapse have surfaced on Twitter and 30 people have been rescued from a seven-storey building.
The quake was described as "enormous" and a "big one" on social networking sites.
Taiwan city's fire department is on its way to the collapsed building and the city government has formed an emergency response team, Liu Shih-chung, an official with the Tainan City Government.
Hundreds of residents are believed to be inside one of the collapsed buildings.
Emergency services are at the scene clearing rubble and debris in order to get inside the building.
No fatalities have been reported.
It is believed two buildings collapsed in the quake, which struck at 3.57am local time (7.57pm GMT), rupturing gas and water pipes.
The US Geological Survey (USGS) said the quake was very shallow, at depth of 6.2 miles, which would have amplified its effects.
People in Taiwan reported on Twitter feeling the earthquake, with many saying it felt strong.
Taiwan's China Post newspaper said: "Collapsed buildings reported in Tainan, with rescue workers arriving on scene. The city government there has set up a level one emergency response centre. Onlookers are urged not to block access to emergency crews moving into the area."
No other details were immediately available but many people in Taiwan said the tremor was strong.
Pao-feng Wu, a Tainan resident, said: "I hugged the wall and put my face to the wall."
Local sources reported the earthquake caused buildings to sway and doors and windows to crack.
Taiwan's Central Weather Bureau also measured a second quake of 4.3 magnitude centered in Tainan.
It's believed a third quake measuring 4.5 also hit southern Taiwan.
The first quake was felt as a lengthy, rolling shake in the capital, Taipei, on the other side of the island.
According to the USGS, a magnitude 6.4 earthquake can cause severe damage.

Magnitude 5.7 quake jolts South Island, felt in Auckland - STUFF
http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/76705301/magnitude-57-quake-jolts-s...
9 FEBRUARY 2016. A 5.7 earthquake has rattled the upper South Island. The earthquake was centred near Molesworth Airport, inland from Kaikoura and 45km southeast of St Arnaud, in the Nelson Lakes District, at 1.38pm.
The quake was recorded at a depth of 65km. More than 600 people, from Christchurch to Auckland, have reported feeling the quake.
There was a "ghost quake", magnitude 4.1 earthquake in Wairoa that has now been deleted. Regarding Aftershocks. We typically don't feel a large number of aftershocks from this type of earthquake. This is because the earthquake was fairly deep and quite remote.

Usually Peaceful Eastern Canada Town Grapples with Earthquake Swarms (Feb 11)
A swarm of small earthquakes is again rattling residents in the southwestern New Brunswick village of McAdam.
Officially, nine earthquakes hit the area on Monday night alone, coming on the heels of more than 23 temblors recorded since Feb. 1.
Mayor Frank Carroll estimates there were 20 to 30 small quakes on Monday night, with many of them not picked up by monitoring equipment located about 95 kilometres away in St. George. One of them registered 3.3 in magnitude.
McAdam Mayor Frank Carroll called Monday a 'horrific day' for residents of the New Brunswick village.
No injuries have been reported and damage has been minor.
"Some people kind of describe it as a bomb going off," said Carroll.
"The community was really on edge on Monday," he said. "It was a horrific day in the world of earthquakes for us."

The village is giving all residents an "earthquake safety action plan," advising them on what to do if the quakes worsen.
Lindsay Wilson says a quake rattled her windows hard enough to break one of them.
"We've had some damage to our house. We've actually had a window get cracked on Sunday night," Wilson said.
A seismologist with Natural Resources Canada says it isn't known whether the small quakes are a precursor to a larger one.
"Magnitude 3.3 was quite a bit bigger than they had before," said John Adams. "But the pattern of activity is unpredictable."

Natural Resources Canada is sending additional seismology equipment to McAdam to enhance monitoring. It is expected to arrive by noon Thursday if road conditions allow.
Adams advises that if residents feel a quake lasting more than few seconds they should seek cover.
"Because we don't know what's going to happen, whether it will get bigger."
Their sudden frequency in McAdam has prompted seismologists to install equipment in hopes of solving the mystery.

(CNN)A 5.8-magnitude earthquake struck New Zealand with such force, it caused part of a cliff to collapse.
About 150,000 to 200,000 people felt strong or very strong shaking, CNN meteorologist Derek Van Dam said.
The quake was centered about 17 kilometers (10 miles) east of Christchurch, which suffered a catastrophic temblor in 2011 that killed at least 185 people.
Almost exactly five years later, the quake Sunday caused a cliff to crumble near Taylor's Mistake bay.
Parts of the cliff retreated 5 meters (16 feet), geotechnical engineer Jan Kupec Linz told CNN affiliate TVNZ.
Some narrowly escaped the collapse.
"I'd taken five of my rookies to do some cliff work and some cliff jumping," Craig Jamison, a member of the Taylor's Mistake Surf Life Saving Club, told the affiliate.
"When I look up I see three of them standing in the cave, and then a whole sheet of rock fell down over them."
But they were lucky; no one was seriously injured.
Elsewhere near Christchurch, the quake hurled items off store shelves. Heavy sport-utility vehicles shook like gelatin.

4.8-magnitude earthquake rattles Sierra Nevada towns
BIG PINE, California — An earthquake rattled the eastern range of California’s Sierra Nevada on Tuesday afternoon, shaking remote communities but there were no immediate reports of damage or injuries, authorities said.
The US Geological Survey reported that the magnitude 4.8 quake struck just after 3 p.m. near Big Pine, a community along scenic US Route 395. The temblor was followed by three aftershocks.
Cody Lawson, a dispatcher at the nearby Bishop Police Department, said he felt the quake that shook for about six seconds. He said no one had immediately called to report an emergency in the town of about 2,500 residents.
“I thought someone hit our building because there was a loud boom and everything shook for about four to six seconds,” Lawson said. “It hit hard right off the bat.”
Lawson said some people in the dispatch center got under their desks. He went to a door frame and waited for the shaking to stop.
Minutes after he got back to his desk and he answered a call from a reporter, he felt an aftershock.
“It was not as strong,” he said. “We’re rolling.”
Residents across the mountain range in Fresno in the San Joaquin Valley also reported feeling the quake.
