"Stretch zones primarily experience sinking ground, as the support in the rock strata is stretched thin. Thus, buildings implode and gas and water mains break." ZetaTalk
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What happens to rock layers under a diagonal pull, or being pulled apart? As can be seen during recent years, this has resulted in derailing trains, sinkholes suddenly appearing, gas and water main breaks, torn roadways and separating bridges. Despite the effect on man, crawling about on the surface of what they assume to be terra firma, these changes are superficial. When the pulling starts, weak points break and thereafter the plumbing and roadways hold, giving the impression that the pulling has stopped, but this is misleading. The North American continent is giving evidence that its rock layers are separating from each other, and sliding sideways in a diagonal, thus exposing portions of these layers to vent into the air above. If rock is being stressed, then where are the earthquake predictors giving evidence of this, the frantic animals, the static on the radio, the earthquake swarms? Rock in the stretch zone, pulling apart rather than compressing, does not emit the particles flows that animals and radios sense, nor register on instruments are tension and release quakes.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"We have repeatedly stated that the Earth changes will not diminish, but will increase going into the pole shift.
This is not a lineal matter, as the closer Planet X comes to Earth, an inevitable path, the more the torque effect and the polar wobble where the N Pole of Earth is pushed away violently on a daily basis, occur. The wobble will become more pronounced, more violent. The plates are tugged back West of the Atlantic, pulled forward East of the Atlantic, during the daily rotation of the Earth. The North American continent is allowed to roll East during rotation while the S Pole is pulled West, creating the diagonal pull likely to trigger the New Madrid fault line into an adjustment, and soon. The N Pole is pushed away and allowed to bounce back, daily, as the Earth rotates, a wobble that puts stress on all fault lines when the plates are suddenly in motion, and suddenly stopped!
"As there is no other explanation for the effect on the stretch zone, lacking any earthquakes to blame, and as these stretch zone accidents will continue to emerge, and with ferocity, this is a certain clue to those on the fence, that the influence of Planet X is the cause. Or is it Global Warming?"

"Sinkholes almost invariably form in areas subject to karst limestone cavern formation. Underground water flows eat away the limestone leaving vast caverns and caves, which often give scant indication above ground that a cavern lies below. Karst limestone rock formations have been mapped and are known, however, but since one never knows just where a cavern might have formed, this provides little help in predicting just where a sinkhole might form. Sinkholes open up when the rock is fractured due to stress from being in the stretch zone, from the bending of a plate, or due to torsion."

Giant sinkhole forms in central Anatolia’s Konya, thirteenth in 2 years
http://national.bgnnews.com/giant-sinkhole-forms-in-central-anatoli...
Posted Oct 7,2015 A 10-meter wide, 7-meter deep sinkhole has formed on farmland in the district of Karapınar, in Turkey’s central Anatolian province of Konya. This is at least the thirteenth sinkhole to form in two years, and the tenth since the spring.
The sinkhole formed in Karapınar’s Kirkitoğlu region, about 7 kilometers (4 miles) from the town center and about 500 meters from the nearest residence.
Farmer Atilla Köken said the sinkhole probably formed a few days ago. “Several sinkholes have already formed in the area before. This one is 10 meters across and 7 meters deep. Even if we’re anxious about them there is nothing to do; we’ve grown accustomed to living here.
The Kirkitoğlu region of Karapınar has several old sinkholes, some reaching even 70 meters (230 feet) in depth. The increase in rainfall during the spring accelerates their formation, with locals claiming that nine sinkholes had formed this past spring alone.
Selçuk University Geological Engineering professor Fetullah Arık said that over 200 sinkholes have been identified in the area so far.

Sevierville sinkholes threatening sewer lines
9:53 p.m. EDT October 7, 2015
(WBIR-SEVIERVILLE) A series of sinkholes in Sevierville are growing, despite efforts to seal them off.
The city is asking the U.S. Geological Survey to help figure out what's causing the giant hole, and several smaller ones, that are threatening sewer lines.
The sinkholes are near the bridge where Collier Drive crosses Middle Creek.
The city says they believe the bridge is sound, but the sinkholes likely threaten sewer lines.
Sevierville will set aside about $52,000 to have the USGS analyze the ground water and underground water in an attempt to figure out what's causing the sinkholes.

Teen nearly drowns when sidewalk collapses, woman says
ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. —
A woman said her special-needs son nearly drowned Monday morning when the ground opened up beneath the sidewalk as he walked to his Orange County school bus.
Lecear Garcia said her 17-year-old son, who is nearly 6 feet tall, went underwater when he fell into the hole.
"My son just dropped. He fell in a hole and went all the way completely down," Garcia said.
She said that when she pulled her son from the water, he was soaked.
"I know he swallowed water because he was underneath," she said.
Garcia said there was no indication that there was a problem with the ground
,as she walked with her son to the bus.The management at the complex where Garcia lives sent an email warning residents of a water main break just after midnight Monday, Garcia said. But she said there were no warnings of possible hazards on the grounds of the complex.
"No sign, no warning, no nothing to let us know, us tenants, that there was a sinkhole right there," she said.
After the incident with Garcia's son, complex managers sent an email warning residents of the hole.
"I almost lost my son," Garcia said. "I thank God he is alive. That's the most important thing. It could have been anybody's child. It could have been anybody this morning."

Sinkhole swallows car amid Sicily downpour
Published: 22 Oct 2015 http://www.thelocal.it/20151022/sinkhole-swallows-car-in-catania-am...
A parked car was swallowed up by a sinkhole that suddenly opened up on a road in Sicily after heavy rain on Wednesday evening.
The car plunged five metres through the eight-metre wide hole on a road in Valverde, in the province of Catania.
The female driver made a miraculous escape having just parked the vehicle before the hole opened up, Corriere reported.
It was then hauled out by firefighters with a crane. The scene was captured on the video below.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CtuvECkkPcs
Heavy rain has swept across Sicily over the past couple of days, with the Catania area faring the worst.
The downpours are expected to continue on Thursday, while torrential rain is also forecast in the Puglia and Calabria regions of southern Italy.
The sinkhole is just the latest embarrassment for the island’s public works authorities. In early January a €13 million viaduct, which lies on a stretch of highway between Palermo and Agrigento, collapsed within days of opening.
Sinkholes are also a common problem elsewhere in the country, especially when torrential rain hits. In February over 300 people had to be evacuated from their homes on a street in Naples after heavy rain and a burst water pipe caused the road to cave in.

Sinkhole in Benguet spurs fears 500 more houses may collapse
http://www.mb.com.ph/sinkhole-in-benguet-spurs-fears-500-more-house...
A stroke of luck allowed families living in the area of Sitio Kamangga-an to survive, but dozens of families had to be evacuated immediately.
Itogon Mayor Victorio Palangdan blamed the sinkhole on the old diversion tunnel allegedly built and operated by the BMC.
Yesterday, Barangay Chairman Noel Bilibli appealed for assistance from BMC as 70 displaced residents remained at the Virac Elementary School, where they were temporarily evacuated.
Bilibli said dozens of families will have to be permanently relocated from Sitio Kamangga-an as they feared the threat of more sinkholes during heavy rains which may cause the collapse of the mining tunnels.
The Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) is already investigating the occurrence.

A 15-foot-wide sinkhole shut down an offramp from eastbound Interstate 4 to eastbound Maitland Boulevard for hours Monday, according to Orange County Fire Rescue.
The hole, about 4 feet deep, opened around 4 p.m.
The Florida Department of Transportation, which dubbed the situation a "pavement failure, said it was unclear whether the ramp would be open by morning.
Motorists can use the eastbound I-4 exit ramp (90B) to westbound State Road 414 (Maitland Boulevard). This ramp has access to eastbound or westbound S.R. 414.
Traffic cameras appeared to show a car stuck in the hole. The car was towed away, and crews worked to fix the hole.
Orange County Fire Rescue received several calls at the time, saying the hole was "rapidly expanding," spokeswoman Kat Kennedy said.
The hole opened near an I-4 Ultimate construction site, according to FDOT. Crews were doing "horizontal drilling" under the ramp at the time, FDOT said.
The exact cause is unknown.
The area is known for sinkholes. Back in 2009, the state spent $9 million when it pumped 7 million gallons of grout into a sinkhole next to the interchange.
When I-4 was originally constructed, the builders went around it, but that was no longer an option when the interchange was expanded. It's not clear whether the original sinkhole has anything to do with the one that opened Monday.

"I keep everything in the house and now I don't know if I can get them back. I wish I could," said Chow, who raised her four sons inside her beloved home. Chow raced outside with only the clothes on her back Wednesday night after the sinkhole stretched into her front yard and nearly swallowed the place she's called home for the past 41 years. "My husband tried to open the front door and he couldn't open it,"
Chow said. Terry Maenza, a spokesperson for Pennsylvania American Water, said the company started receiving complaints of low or no water pressure about 8 p.m. Neighbors realized there was a problem, and then they saw the street opening up. "The lamp post out front went down a couple inches and you could see a crack in the house," said Meg Gallagher, who lives across the street from where the cave-in happened. "Then you just saw more of the street going down."

The sinkhole is reportedly 27 feet deep and 22 feet wide, roughly 1.5 miles from the sinkhole that swallowed a Seffner man in 2013 .
The original call came from 11918 Clay Pitt Road.
Emergency crews have cleared the scene, and Code Enforcement has taken over.
Code Enforcement said they did not find any evidence the depression will expand, nor did they find any depressions near it.
Authorities said they do not believe the depression is any threat to anyone else; they will develop a plan to monitor the depression.
According to officials, the depression is on private property and will be the responsibility of the homeowners to contact their insurance company to fill it.

Newburgh street on verge of sinkhole collapse

The city engineering department, in consultation with the state Department of Transportation, has closed the street between its intersections with Colden/Fourth Street and Washington Street.
City Michael Ciaravino said a sinkhole 11 feet beneath the street measures about six feet wide by 15 to 17 feet long.
“The sewers in that area are made of brick; they are from the . From what we’ve seen in the camera work, it appears to have been collapsing for quite a long time,” Ciaravino said. “There is a of infrastructure that has completely deteriorated in that area so with each storm that has happened for however long this has been happening, there has been a continuing scouring out of the dirt that supports the sewers in that area.”
Once the full extent of the damage has been determined, Ciaravino said, he would hope city crews would be able to perform most of the work in-house. He is shooting for the project to be completed in as few as seven days.
Detour signs will divert to Washington and Colden Street. Local traffic to the pizza shop will be available.

Giant sinkhole swallows whole the garden of pensioner, 93, as building work opens up 100ft hole
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3301915/Giant-sinkhole-swal...
Stunned Kathleen Angel watched on in horror as she came within inches of falling down the giant sinkhole as it 'devoured' her garden. Her hydrangeas were left intact, though.
The huge death trap appeared after builders allegedly burst a water pipe during work to construct two new homes nearby.
Kathleen, a widow, said: 'It was a great shock. I heard something and looked up and there it was - a very deep, big hole in the middle of my garden. It is very concerning, very much so.'
The incident occurred on Polwithen Drive in Carbis Bay, near St Ives, Cornwall, behind a large building site.
Several homes were also reportedly flooded during the incident and other residents had their water supply cut off while repairs were carried out.
Next-door neighbour Jim Ashford, 92, said: 'Kathleen has not been coping well, when she heard about it I thought it was going to finish her off.
'She lives on her own, I know her son in law comes to visit her, but she is a very reclusive person.'
His son Nick added: 'The building work is a living nightmare - it's been going on for two months and we were given no warning beforehand about what would happen.
'The effects of it all are terrible, and it all culminated on Saturday, just as the rugby was on, when suddenly a 100ft hole appeared in the garden next door.

Mysterious giant sinkhole swallows at least 15 vehicles in Mississippi
The sinkhole appeared in the parking lot of the new IHOP restaurant on Frontage Road in the city of Meridian. The customers at the restaurant told local WTOK-TV that they heard several booms that were quickly followed by the electricity loss.
At first the frightened customers thought that it was an earthquake, but when they went outside they saw their cars down in a 15-meter-wide, nearly 180-meter-long hole.
"We received a call earlier this evening of a sinkhole opening up at the new IHOP restaurant," Meridian Fire Department Chief Battalion Wayne Cook said. "Upon arrival, we found multiple vehicles in the ditch. At this time, we are trying to stabilize this and keep everyone away."
It is not clear what exactly caused the incident, but the city has seen at least 3 inches (7 cm) of rain this weekend and about 10 inches (25 cm) in the recent two weeks.
"As far as the investigation side of it, that's going to be everybody who is involved with this," Cook added.

A 20ft sinkhole has opened up in a residential street in Newcastle.
Police cordoned off Craster Square, Coxlodge, Gosforth, after the crater appeared, revealing old mine workings.
These shocking pictures and footage shows the gaping chasm which has opened up in front of a row of four garages.
The hole stretches the width of the road, from the edge of one drive to another.
One picture, sent in by Curtis Gabriel, shows a car stranded on a drive after the sinkhole opened up in front of it.
Aerial shots reveal the depth of the crater, which appears to go down at least 20ft.
Resident Daniel Stewart, 24, had a light-hearted approach to the sinkhole appearing in his street.
He said: “I was at work - you never expect to hear about something like this in your own street.
“I was hoping it might bring my rent down!”
Another resident, Leah O’Malley, 20, said: “When I came out of my flat this morning, the ground was fine but there was a lady here who was worried about the state of the ground.
“I went back inside and came back out later to find that the huge hole had appeared. I was absolutely shocked.
“A fire engine and police officers turned up and this lady was shaking. She said she was worried about falling into the sinkhole and it was a shock to find the ground collapsed.
“We are all wondering why this has happened.”
The scene is situated around three miles north of Newcastle city centre in the quiet leafy suburb of Gosforth.

Sinkholes in Nayanoripalle, Govt. evacuates villagers
November 22, 2015
Kadapa District Collector K.V. Ramana and Geological Survey of India officials of Hyderabad visited Nayanoripalle village on Sunday and inspected the multiple sinkholes.
The revenue and police officials of Kadapa exhorted the villagers of Nayanoripalle in Chintakommadinne mandal in Kadapa District to vacate the village and move over to safer places and large sinkholes formed in the village could endanger lives.
Kadapa District Collector K.V. Ramana and Geological Survey of India officials of Hyderabad visited Nayanoripalle village on Sunday and inspected the multiple sinkholes. Earlier, officials of the mining and groundwater departments conducted a survey on the Collector’s directions and detected limestone deposits at a depth of 30 feet.
Heavy rains since a week resulted in dissolving of the limestone and soil sunk to depths of 30 feet, the officials deduced. The villagers were panic-stricken with the formation of sinkholes of a diameter of 25 metres at several places in Nayanoripalle.
Nearly a dozen large sink holes were formed near Sri Bugga Malleswara Swamy temple and a mini-water tank atop a 15-foot high cement concrete pedestal sunk into the ground. A sinkhole was formed in front of the mandal parishad school in Nayanoripalle and the school compound wall, a surface-level water tank and a couple of trees fell into it. The sinkhole formation was coupled with defeaning sounds spreading panic among the villagers.
As sinkholes were forming with deafening sounds, the officials called upon the residents to vacate the village, as continuing to live there could endanger lives. Already over a dozen families left the village to take shelter in the houses of their relatives elsewhere. The revenue and police officials are proposing to evacuate the villagers who are continuing in Nayanoripalle.

People warned to stay away from 'football pitch' sized sinkhole in Australia
The sinkhole is believed to be about 100 metres wide
Swimmers have been warned to stay away from a beach after a sinkhole the size of a football pitch opened up.
Officials said the sinkhole swallowed part of Jumpinpin Beach on North Stradbroke Island off of Queensland state in Australia, according to local media.
The sinkhole is believed to be about 100 metres wide.
Surf Life Saving Queensland wrote on Twitter: "North Straddie sinkhole does not = good swimming hole! Stay well back from edge & remember to #swimbetweentheflags".
Another message added: "North Straddie now believed to be affected by significant coastal erosion from strong tidal changes, after consultation with land managers".
The area is reported to be a popular fishing spot, but is only accessible by 4x4.
Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service said some of the sand was beginning to return with the tide, the Brisbane Times reported.
"It's an area where the sand is constantly shifting," QPWS southeast regional director Mick Cubis said.
"Queensland's coastal sand masses are dynamic environments and change all the time due to wind, tides and waves."

'Flow slide' causes beach collapse on island in Australia
26 Nov 2015
Authorities warned people to avoid a beach on North Stradbroke Island in Queensland after erosion caused a sinkhole-like “flow slide”, leaving a hole about 330 feet long and 330 feet wide
A section of a beach the size of a football field has suddenly broken off due to a “flow slide” at a popular tourist island in Australia, prompting warnings to avoid the area.
The collapse of part of the beach on North Stradbroke Island in the state of Queensland is believed to have been caused by a slide triggered by erosion due to strong tides. The event left a hole about 330 feet long and 330 feet wide.
"It is going to make it a very massive hazard," Michael Bates, a local lifeguard, told ABC News.
"It is not a safe area for swimming area at all, due to it being so unstable, unpredictable and varying depth and the strong water movement.”
The beach is popular with fishermen but was empty when the collapse occurred.

Sinkhole, at least 90 feet deep, closes Lake Park in Lutz
http://www.tbo.com/northwest-tampa/lake-park-in-lutz-closes-after-s...
LUTZ — A narrow but deep sinkhole has forced Hillsborough County officials to close one of its largest parks.
The sinkhole already had forced the cancellation of the 36th annual Lutz Art & Crafts Festival, which originally was scheduled for Saturday in the park.
Lake Park, one of the county’s largest parks, is on land owned by the city of St. Petersburg, which has used it as a well field. The wells have not been pumping recently, officials said, and likely are not the cause of the sinkhole. The park is just west of Dale Mabry Highway and south of Van Dyke Road in Lutz and draws an estimated 300,000 visitors a year, county officials said.
Limestone deposits lie just beneath the park’s surface, said Forest Turbiville, the county’s director of conservation and environmental lands management.
“Limestone is highly porous,’’ Turbiville said. “We think that a piece of limestone just broke and fell.”
The cause of that may lie in the summer rains that saturated the soil across West Central Florida in July and August. Sections of the park had flooded and have been closed since August after the region sustained a couple months of record and near-record daily rainfall.
The section of the park where the 6-foot-wide sinkhole was discovered had been closed for three to four weeks while geoscientists with sinkhole consultants Ardaman & Associates assessed what appeared to be a depression off the dirt road that circles around the south end of the park.
The consultants told the county the “throat” of the sinkhole extended down 90 to 110 feet.
Whether the subterranean cavern is wider is unknown, Turbiville said.

Massive Sinkhole Threatens to Swallow Homes in Florida Neighborhood
A massive 60-by-50-foot sinkhole 15-feet deep opened up overnight in Ocala, Florida, and is threatening to swallow homes in the town's Oak Run neighborhood, according to the Marion County office.
Homeowners who live near the sinkhole were evacuated Tuesday night, and all other residents in the immediate area "were advised to be prepared to evacuate," Marion County Public Information Officer Elaine McClain told ABC News today.
An roadway was damaged and closed off, but no one was hurt, she added.
Investigators have found a "12-inch water main break," but since "no one was present in the area when the sinkhole opened up, it's not possible to say if the sinkhole activity or the water main break occurred first," McClain explained.
"Under normal circumstances, when a sinkhole opens, the water pipe will break, since it loses the support of the soil underneath it and it can't handle the burden of the soil on top of it," she added.
A Marion County building inspector has been called to the scene to determine the safety of homes by the sinkhole, McClain said.
Other county authorities responded to the scene Tuesday night, including the county's fire rescue, sheriff's office, utilities department, risk management department and building department, according to McClain.

and Oregon again:
Sinkholes, slides endanger entire neighborhood in Tillamook
http://www.oregonlive.com/pacific-northwest-news/index.ssf/2015/12/...
It began Monday as a few little cracks on Burton Hill Road, just outside Tillamook. By Wednesday the cracks had collapsed into a quarter-mile series of sinkholes and creeping mud that put three homes at risk, pushed a barn off its foundation and left homeowners fearful of what will move next.
As the rains continue, they say only one thing is clear:
No one is coming to the rescue.
Morgan Kottre, 27, said she and her neighbors – some of them relatives – have been told by county, state and federal officials that they don't qualify for assistance because Burton Hill Road and the lower Hillside Drive are private roads on private land. Same story from at least one insurance company. Kottre said a representative told one family the devastation qualifies as an "act of god," which the insurer doesn't cover.
"In theory, we could try to fight it," she said, "but right now we're just trying to fight the land."

Oregon: Sinkhole appears in Harbor parking lot
http://www.currypilot.com/News/Local-News/Sinkhole-appears-in-Harbo...
No people were injured nor vehicles damaged when the hole opened up this morning, according to property owner David Allen. The hole doesn’t pose a threat to any lanes on the highway, yet.
“At first it just looked like a deep puddle of water and then it collapsed,” Allen said. “I’m glad nobody was parked there.”
The Oregon Department of Transportation sent a crew to inspect the hole, and they determined it was caused by a failing culvert buried 30 feet below the surface. The 48-inches wide pipe runs east to west under Highway 101, starting in the shopping center on the east side of the highway.
“The pipe was built sometime in the 1970s,” said ODOT spokesman Jared Castle. “We know it’s going to get larger, but there’s nothing we can do until it stops raining.”
He added, “We’re going through the old records to learn more about the pipe and how best to deal with it.”
Meanwhile, ODOT officials are monitoring the situation hourly and will take action to protect the public if the sinkhole spreads into the highway lanes, he said.
Caution cones have been placed around the hole, which destroyed about two parking spaces at the far end of the parking lot. The Fireside Grill is not threatened by the sinkhole and is still open for business, Allen said.

Repairs underway after ground caves in near Phillips Lane
Posted: Dec 28, 2015 4:31 PM EST Updated: Dec 28, 2015 4:34 PM ESTLOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Drivers near the Kentucky Fair and Expo Center are dodging a hole after part of the ground caved in.
One lane of Phillips Lane is closed near the main gate.
Officials with the Metropolitan Sewer District say the ground collapsed near several sewer lines, however those lines are intact and operating normally.
Repairs are underway to fill in the space, but there's no word on when the lane of traffic will re-open.
Officials say occasionally the ground can shift and the soil will collapse, however the cave-in is not considered a sinkhole.

UK: Giant 20ft deep sinkhole swallows man after opening up in middle of quiet street
http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/giant-20ft-deep-sinkhole-swall...
Firefighters were called to the hole in Nantyffyllon, Maesteg, early this morning after reports a man had fallen in.
A spokesman for South Wales Fire and Rescue Service said the man had been “recovered prior to our arrival”, was assessed by fire crews and did not need to be taken to hospital .
Fire crews closed the road after the two-metres-square hole appeared.
A spokesperson for South Wales Fire and Rescue added: “We were called at 7.49am to reports a pavement had collapsed.
“There’s a two-metres-square hole in the pavement extending to a large underground chamber.”
Highways officers from Bridgend council, gas and electricity engineers, Welsh Water and the police all remain at the scene of the hole, which a council spokesman said could open out into an old mine shaft or something related to a former mine.
He added that the hole had opened up outside the old miners’ institute, which is now a block of flats.
“Quite a small number of residents from those flats have been evacuated and will be staying with friends and family.
“If anyone has not got anywhere to stay, the council will be able to help them,” he said.
The spokesman added that the residential street, which is not a main road, will remain closed to traffic “for the foreseeable future”, although all other residents will have access to their homes.

Road collapses beneath overloaded truck in China
Jan. 20, 2016 at 2:48 PM
ZHANGZHOU, China, Jan. 20 (UPI) -- An overloaded truck on a road in China's Fujian Province caused the road underneath it to give way into a sinkhole that swallowed the back half of the vehicle.
Video of the scene in Zhangzhou Jan. 12 shows the truck move a short distance on the road before the street beneath its rear-end collapses.
The truck is partially swallowed into the newly-created sinkhole, which was blamed on the vehicle carrying too much weight for the street to handle.
Officials suggested muddy conditions under the road may have also contributed to the 13-foot-deep hole forming under the truck.

Crews working to repair sinkhole on Powell County road
Road crews are working to repair a sinkhole that opened up along Church Street in Stanton.
POWELL COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Road crews are working to repair part of a road that collapsed over the weekend.
Stanton mayor Dale Allen says the hole opened Saturday night when the ground beneath part of Church Street gave way.
According to repair crews, the collapse happened when a man was driving a backhoe onto a neighboring farm. The rear of the backhoe started to go into the sinkhole, but the driver used the rear arm to push himself out. He was able to drive away.
Road crews had to excavate all that dirt and then replace a sewage line. Now, they're filling the hole with gravel. They'll put permanent pavement down once it warms up.
Mayor Allen says that other than this sinkhole they haven't had any major issues as a result of this storm.
"We've had our fair share of water. Sixth wettest December according to your newscast. The problems show up and we fix 'em," said Mayor Allen.

Massive sinkhole closes part of Highway 101 in southern Oregon - Jan 28
HARBOR, Ore. -- A portion of Highway 101 in southern Oregon is closed due to a massive sinkhole.
The hole, at least 50 feet deep, has swallowed nearly the entire road in Harbor, Oregon, located about 100 miles north of Eureka, California, according to Q13 Fox. Though they haven't declared an official cause for the sinkhole, Department of Transportation officials said the road will be closed through at least the first week of February, the report added.
The sinkhole formed on the opposite side of the road from where another hole appeared in mid-December, according to the Curry Coastal Pilot. That sinkhole measured 30 feet wide and 25 feet deep in the parking lot of Fireside Grill, the report added.
Castle told NBC News the two holes have likely combined into one big hole. "It's a monster."

Woman standing in her garden watches farm worker and father-of-eight get swallowed up by a massive sinkhole
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3437728/Woman-standing-gard...
A 60-year-old Arizona farm worker was swallowed up by a massive sinkhole that opened up near a field as a woman gardening in her yard looked on in horror.
The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office has identified the victim as Guadalupe Gomez Nila, a married father-of-eight from the Phoenix suburb of Queen Creek.
The 15-foot-wide sinkhole formed between 1pm and 1.30pm on Friday as the man was working in field on the outskirts of Phoenix.
Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Detective Doug Matteson said a neighbor, identified by a local TV station as Mary Jane Mack, was working in her garden nearby and saw the moment the earth gave way beneath Nila's feet and he disappeared from sight.
The law enforcement official said the freak accident occurred as Nila was walking to the back of the truck and taking off his work belt.
‘It's kind of like getting stuck by lightning,’ Matteson said.
At first, the woman thought the worker simply fell, but when she could not find him, she called the sheriff's office for help.
'He went down fast, his hands were up in the air, and he went down fast,' Mack told the station ABC15. 'I waited to see if he would get back up. He didn't.'
Firefighters rushed to the scene but could not save the 60-year-old man.

As a result, residents have been told to stay away from their £130,000 properties until work is carried out to assess and fix the damage.
Although the reason behind the hole is currently unknown, locals have speculated that a former mineshaft may have collapsed following heavy rains.
The cul-de-sac had been closed off since yesterday morning and was being inspected by workers today.

Huge sinkhole swallows car and trees in Italian square
Published: 21 Mar 2016 12:19 GMT+01:00
A Renault Twingo and two small trees have disappeared into a huge sinkhole in the central square of Afragola, a town near Naples.
Nobody was hurt in the incident, which happened in the early hours of Monday morning.
The opening of the chasm, which was seven metres long, seven metres wide and seven metres deep, damaged underground pipes and cut off the water supply to some local residents.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=odksqLaK7KM
The gigantic hole is thought to have been caused by either an underground drain or tunnel caving in.
Several tunnels are known to run under the square and once connected the crypt of the nearby church of San Giorgio to the town's castle.
In February last year, a sinkhole caused by a burst water pipe saw 300 people evacuated from their homes in Naples, while in October a female driver watched her car disappear into a sinkhole in Catania.

Large sinkhole forces Tarpon Shores Mobile Home park to evacuate in Tarpon Springs
No injuries reported at this time
TARPON SPRINGS, Fla. - A 80-foot wide sinkhole forced the evacuation Wednesday of several homes in a Tarpon Springs neighborhood.
Residents in the Tarpon Shores Mobile Home Park at 89 Rachel Drive are being told to seek shelter at a nearby community center, according to authorities. About seven homes have been evacuated.
The local emergency management agencies and Red Cross are helping the displaced residents until they can return home.
The sinkhole engulfed a fence, utility pole and portion of a nearby road Wednesday as it grew. It is also estimated to be roughly 35 feet deep.
City contractors were repairing a previous road collapse when the hole opened Wednesday morning. The hole affected a 30-inch sewer line, a 6-inch sewer line and 4-inch water line. Water has been turned off at the Olympic Plaza near Mango Street and U.S. 19.
Pinellas County crews expect to make a temporary fix to the sewer line Saturday. The sinkhole will have to be stabilized before a permanent fix can be made.
