Fault lines, when adjusting, do not just rip apart one day during a dramatic earthquake. They most often creep. Laying gas lines along or across a fault line is asking for an accident of this sort. Fault lines are also seldom so clearly delineated that one can go a mile in this or that direction and avoid their action. Where a slip-slide fault such as the San Andreas will often leave a clear line on the surface, this is only the surface action, not what occurs in the rock layers on either side which can fracture for a long way to either side during any movement. The gas company, or the age of the pipes, will be faulted but in truth the finger should be pointed in many directions. The public, who insist on living at such a scenic spot, is to blame. Officials, who zoned for housing are to blame. The public utility company, for allowing gas lines in the area, is to blame. But this will change nothing, while man continues to live on the San Andreas, even as it awakens. EOZT

The danger from radon gas will not be increased as a result of the pole shift. Radon gas is emitted by rock containing uranium, which is degrading. In normal circumstances, where air can circulate, it is disbursed rapidly as is any methane created by decay of organic material. The danger from these gasses comes from confinement - being trapped in a mine, a basement, or beneath the permafrost. The dangers are well known. For methane, it is explosions. An accumulation of methane gas can be identified by the smell of rotten eggs, or as some have described it, dirty socks or cabbage soup. For radon gas the danger is lung cancer, from the continual exposure to the radioactive air. Radon gas is odorless and cannot be detected except by specialized equipment not in the hands of the average person.

In that the pole shift, or the Earth changes preceding the pole shift, can fracture rock and release pockets of either gas, survivors should be cautious about huddling in bunkers. You are safer out in the open air, or in a trench you have dug that will allow the pole shift winds to pass over you, but nothing to fall on and crush you. The fact that both methane gas and radon gas can accumulate in the bunkers of the elite is one of the reasons we have stated that they have dug their own graves. EOZT

Anyone watching the news, for instance the news on the San Bruno explosion in a distribution line close to the San Andreas Fault line, knows that gas in any form is a danger. Oil and gas refineries explode when rigid piping cracks. Oil or gas wells explode when the ground around them moves. And the gas distribution lines running under cities are no exception. They likewise will explode. Gas lines, whether along the street or within a home, are rigid. In some cases automatic shutoff valves can limit the amount of gas available for an explosion by sensing a drop in pressure, but this is always after the fact. The explosion has already occurred. Utilizing gas on a planet prone to earthquakes was a mistake to begin with, but man never thinks of the consequences when striving for modern conveniences. We have advised turning off the gas at the street, though when the street explodes and your neighbor's homes are on fire you are not likely to escape the holocaust. A better alternative is to live in an area where gas is not available, as in your rural safe location where you will be doing a form of camping while gardening. A campfire at night, for cooking and washing and a bit of friendly light before bed. Nothing explosive. EOZT

SOZT Answer: It is no accident that the New Madrid fault lies under the Mississippi River near Memphis, as rivers form in lowlands created when land pulls apart, separating the rock fingers and weakening support for the land. Thus, the Ohio Riverbed also is an indication of where rock fingers will pull apart. Two adjustments in Kentucky, a day apart, are not an accident, but an indication of the speed at which the stretch zone is starting to adjust. Rail lines are frequently an early harbinger of such adjustments, as they run long distances, whereas structures within cities, such as tall buildings, take up relatively little space and have a small footprint. Our warning that imploding cities will be experienced, before the hour of the shift, are in this regard. Be warmed, it will not just be your rail lines and gas and water mains that will shatter and be pulled apart during the stretch. The foundations of your tall buildings will likewise be vulnerable. Gas pipeline explosion injures 10 residents in Indonesia

A gas pipeline explosion triggered a fire and injured at least 10 residents in Indonesia. The blaze, caused by a pipeline leak, broke out near the main road in Indragiri Hilir Regency, Riau Province, on Friday. Footage shows the fire engulfing Batu Ampar Village in Kemuning District, turning the surroundings orange as locals watched in disbelief. Indragiri Hilir Police Chief, Senior Adjunct Commissioner Farouk Oktora, confirmed that several villagers were hurt in the blast. The police boss added: 'Six people suffered burn injuries, while four others sustained minor injuries after falling while trying to escape from the explosion site.' The flames also destroyed five trucks, five motorcycles, and three business buildings. Farouk said: 'We, along with joint officers, immediately sealed off the area, secured the location, and temporarily halted traffic on the Riau–Jambi route to prevent further casualties. The investigation is ongoing to determine the exact cause of the incident.' PT Trans Gas Indonesia, the state-owned company that owns the pipeline, confirmed it had shut down the gas flow and fully extinguished the fire by Saturday morning. The company said public safety is its top priority and promised to take full responsibility for all damages caused, including to residents' property. They added: 'We extend our apologies to the public and assure that the pipeline repair process will be carried out in accordance with safety standards, with an estimated completion time of up to five days.'

Blast at substation hits power supply across Sankhali villages

Last updated: May 16, 2026 2:19 am

Sankhali : A major explosion at the Navelim-Sankhali power substation in the early hours of Friday disrupted electricity supply across Sankhali and several surrounding villages till the afternoon.

According to officials, the blast destroyed the “bus bars” — the large conductors used to transmit power within the substation. The intense fire also damaged insulators, while transformer oil caught fire and was completely burnt, rendering the entire substation non-functional and plunging the area into darkness.

Personnel from the Bicholim Fire and Emergency Services rushed to the spot and managed to bring the fire under control.

Following the incident, the Electricity Department immediately launched large-scale repair operations to restore the disrupted power supply. Teams of engineers, electricity staff and workers were deployed at the substation and worked continuously to carry out the repair work.

Officials said their priority was to restore electricity supply to residential areas at the earliest. Restoration work is currently underway on a war footing.

SEARSMONT, Maine — The Maine Fire Marshals Office and multiple fire departments are responding to what Waldo Co Dispatch is calling a mass casualty incident following an explosion and massive fire.

Mass casualty incident does not mean that anyone is dead, it simply means there are believed to be more potential patients than the local department can handle.

A person who answered the phone at Robbins Lumber on Main Street in Searsmont at 11:25 a.m. on Friday confirmed to Maine's Total Coverage that there was a situation ongoing at their facility.

The Maine Fire Marshal's Office confirmed they had investigators headed to the lumber mill.

No other details were immediately available.

2 homes 'significantly damaged' in Matthews gas line explosion, officials say

Several fire departments are on the scene of a gas leak and fire on Pleasant Plains Road and Morningwood Drive.

 6:23 PM EDT May 13, 2026

MATTHEWS, N.C. — Emergency crews remain on the scene after a gas line explosion rocked a Matthews neighborhood earlier today near Pleasant Plains Road and Morningwood Drive. Matthews Fire say two homes were heavily damaged in the blast and fire.

What began as a gas line issue quickly escalated into a major emergency, with flames shooting into the air and burning for more than an hour. At one point, we're told nearly 100 firefighters were on scene working to contain the fire and protect surrounding homes.

Around 11:55 a.m., Matthews Fire & EMS and Charlotte Fire Department responded after a contractor drilling and setting poles is believed to have struck a natural gas line. Once crews arrived and assessed the situation, the gas leak ignited, prompting an immediate upgrade in response that included the Charlotte Fire Department HazMat team and additional agencies.

Piedmont Natural Gas crews also responded, working alongside emergency personnel to secure the area, shut off the gas flow, and clamp the damaged main line.

Matthews Fire Chief Rob Kinniburgh said two homes were significantly damaged during the incident. No injuries have been reported as of 2:15 p.m.  Kinniburgh said Piedmont Natural Gas crews were searching for a valve to turn off the gas in the area. Duke Energy customers are currently without power in the area due to the fire.

The strategy for managing the blaze was been to "watch and wait" while protecting surrounding structures, or "exposures," rather than trying to extinguish the fire directly. Chief Kinniburgh explained that if the fire were put out while gas was still leaking, it would create a risk of explosive gas migrating into the neighborhood.

While the fire caused significant damage to two nearby homes, no residents were inside at the time, and no civilian injuries have been reported. Approximately 100 firefighters from multiple departments, including Charlotte Fire and several Union County agencies, remain on the scene to manage the situation and rotate crews due to the heat.

Neighbors said the fire started suddenly. Firefighters arrived on the scene quickly.

“I was doing my studies and work when I heard this ‘whooshing’ sound,” Benjamin Hlastan said. “Then, about 20 minutes later, I came out with my son to see what was going on. We saw this huge flame and the fire department was already there.”

One resident described the damage after returning home.

“My mom’s room and my room are pretty much burned down from the outside, and everything is wet. The whole house from the outside is burned down, and we can’t really live in there. We can’t stay there tonight," Kiara Espinosa, affected resident, said.

Family members say they are now working to find temporary housing and are seeking assistance from the Red Cross. They are also searching for pets that went missing during the incident.

“I wanted to help my cousins during this difficult time. I know it’s really difficult for her. It’s really scary for everyone. I’m just glad she’s okay," Jesus Salazar, family member, said.

Officials confirm there were no reported injuries, though some firefighters were briefly affected by heat exposure and are expected to be okay.

“There was no one home at the two houses most affected by the fire. We did force entry into those homes, but no one was there. We’ve had some firefighters a little overcome by heat, but they’re fine," Chief Kinniburgh said.

The Charlotte Fire Department confirmed it is assisting with the response. Multiple CFD units were dispatched to help Matthews Fire crews.

Authorities say while the situation is now under control, all natural gas appliances in the area will need to be relit.

Crews are expected to remain in the area as cleanup and assessments continue.

11 hospitalized after possible boat explosion near Miami Beach

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said it responded to reports of a possible vessel explosion on Saturday afternoon near the Haulover Sandbar, a popular boating area known for parties.

A total of 11 people were hospitalized Saturday following a possible boat explosion near North Miami Beach.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue spokesperson Erika Benitez said crews responded just after 12:30 p.m. to reports of a possible vessel explosion near the popular boating area near the Haulover Beach marina.

More than 25 units responded, including boat fire crews, ocean rescue teams and partner agencies such as the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the U.S. Coast Guard, Benitez said.

“Upon arrival, our crews encountered multiple patients with various degrees of injury, including burns requiring medical attention,” Benitez said.

Officials upgraded the response to a Level 2 mass casualty incident due to the number of patients and the need for additional resources, she said.

The Haulover Sandbar, near Haulover Beach marina, is a shallow boating area known for lively parties in North Miami Beach.

Officials said the cause of the apparent explosion remains under investigation.

“As we are in the midst of voting season, we want to remind our community to always prioritize safety while out on the water,” Benitez said. “Make sure you do a safety check and ensure that your boat is in good working condition.”
