We are seeing so many remarkable pre-announcement pieces showing up, this is a place to post and discuss them. This one for example, is making discoveries sound 'ho hum' which a few months/years ago were heralded as amazing breakthroughs. Today for example:
http://news.yahoo.com/nearly-every-star-hosts-least-one-alien-planet-120845221.html
When a month or so ago they were making a BIG deal about finding one planet in the sweet zone which could possibly support life, son they they say 25% of them could support life! Including mention of red dwarfs, etc. The Zeta predicted evidence continues to build up!

American Doomsday: White House Warns of Climate Catastrophes
By Matthew DeLuca Scorching temperatures, flooded cities, and changes in the growing season are just some of the hard realities of a changing climate that are beginning to hit Americans directly, says a new White House report.“Climate change, once considered an issue for a distant future, has moved firmly into the present,” the White House report released on Tuesday says.
The third National Climate Assessment, the result of four years of research by hundreds of leading scientists and experts, draws a dire picture of a future in which human activity has contributed directly to massive changes in weather. A 1,300-page draft version of the National Climate Assessment was issued last year.
“Corn producers in Iowa, oyster growers in Washington State, and maple syrup producers in Vermont are all observing climate-related changes that are outside of experience," they wrote in the report.
The changes could help fuel wildfires across the Southwest, lead to lengthened growing season in the Midwest, and cause heat waves and coastal flooding in the Northeast, according to the report. Glaciers will shrink in Alaska even as drought leads to “increased competition for scarce water resources for people and ecosystems,” the report warns.
“This National Climate Assessment concludes that the evidence of human-induced climate change continues to strengthen and that impacts are increasing across the country,” the report states.
Researchers underscored the high temperatures experienced in recent years by Americans, including 2012, which was the hottest year the continental United States has yet had on record, according to the report. The report projects that temperatures will rise a further 2 to 4 degrees Fahrenheit in coming decades.
And in scenarios reminiscent of Hurricane Sandy, heavy rain storms stand to slam America's transportation networks, flooding tunnels, washing across rail lines and overwhelming drainage systems for streets and tunnels.
“Americans are noticing changes all around them,” the researchers wrote in the report. “Summers are longer and hotter, and extended periods of unusual heat last longer than any living American has ever experienced. Winters are generally shorter and warmer.”
The report drew a direct connection between human activities and the uptick in global temperatures over the past five decades, leading to erratic weather experienced across the country. Extreme weather events that have changed over that period include heatwaves that have swept the West while similar bursts of cold weather have become less frequent.
“Natural drivers of climate cannot explain the recent observed warming,” the report states. “Over the last five decades, natural factors (solar forcing and volcanoes) alone would actually have led to a slight cooling.”
The report comes after a series of other high-profile warnings on the pace and effects of climate change. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change is releasing a series of global assessments. The American Association for the Advancement of Science, the National Academy of Sciences and the Royal Society have all issued their own reports or begun educational campaigns.
The White House’s report presents “actionable science” on how to deal with climate change and its effects, John Podesta, a counselor to President Obama, told NBC News’ Chuck Todd on Tuesday. The peer-reviewed report is the most comprehensive yet produced on the effects of climate change in the U.S., Podesta said.
Some climate experts who spoke to NBC News in advance of the report’s release highlighted the need for quick action to mitigate the effects of climate change.
“While President Obama has taken some important steps to address climate change at home, his administration is undermining that progress by ignoring the huge amounts of carbon pollution that would accompany the fossil fuel industry’s plan to export coal, liquefied natural gas and oil abroad,” said Gabe Wisniewski, Greenpeace USA's climate and energy campaign director, in an email. “Climate change is a global crisis which will only be made worse by extracting and exporting fossil fuels, whether it’s fracked gas from Appalachia, coal strip-mined from Montana, or oil drilled from the Arctic.”

The ancient Egyptians called it Ra. The ancient Greeks called it Helios. The ancient Mayans called itKinich Ahau. The ancient Germans called it Sól. Our longest-standing and most deeply held myths have so often revolved around the sun in large part because we humans have revolved around the sun. That distant sphere of glowing gas has been, to us fragile creatures, warmth and light and life itself. It has, we now know, been the center of everything we've known. No wonder we've assumed it was divine. Which makesnews just coming out of the University of Texas at Austin—soon to be reported inThe Astrophysical Journal—particularly monumental. Our familiar star, it turnsout, is not unique. Our sun has a sibling—a sister-star that almost certainly originated from the same cloud of gas and dust as our own shining orb. That sibling? A star with the deceptivelydull name of HD 162826. Said star is 15percent more massive than our sun, and located 110 light-years away from us (in the constellation Hercules, whichis, appropriately, un-dully named). We can't see the sun's sister unaided, but even a set of low-power binoculars revealsHD 162826 to human eyes. It's situated near (well, relatively near) the bright star of Vega.McDonald ObservatoryThe discovery was made by team of researchers led by the UT astronomer Ivan Ramirez, with help from several groups around the world. Using a combination of chemical analysis (high-resolution spectroscopy) and information about the stars' orbits (their "dynamics"), the team created a list of solar-sibling candidates that included 30 stars. Using information provided by telescopes at both the McDonald Observatory in Texas and the Las Campanas Observatory in Chile, they narrowed the field. In the end, there was one that matched our sun.It was "lucky coincidence," Ramirez says, thatHD 162826 emerged as our sun's sibling. As it turns out, HD 162826has, for the past 15 years, been a subject of study by the McDonald Observatory Planet Search team. Studies conducted by that team, together with calculations provided by the University of New South Wales, mean that we already know a little bit about the our sibling-sun's solar system. It doesn't seem to have any"hot Jupiters," for example (massive planets that orbit close to the star itself). It also doesn't seem to have an analog to Jupiter itself. It may, though, have other, terrestrial planets. And "there is a chance," Ramirez says—"small, but not zero"—that those planets could harbor life.In their earliest days within their birth cluster,he explains, collisions could have knocked chunks off of planets, and these fragments could have travelled between solar systems, and perhaps even may have been responsible for bringing primitive life to Earth. Or, fragments from Earth could have transported life to planets orbiting solar siblings."So it could be argued," Ramirez continued, "that solar siblings are key candidates in the search for extraterrestrial life."And if so: There are lots of candidates.HD 162826 may be the first solar sibling we know of, but it is, Ramirez thinks, not alone in that. That long-ago cloud of gas and dust kept busy."The idea is that the Sun was born in a cluster with a thousand or a hundred thousand stars," Ramirez says. And that cluster, which formed more than 4.5 billion years ago, has long ago broken up, with member stars situating themselves into their own orbits around the galactic center—which in turn scattered them across the Milky Way as it exists today. "A few, like HD 162826, are still nearby," Ramirez says. "Others are much farther afield."

Researchers Suggest A Violent Event Flipped The Moon
While we tend to think of the moon as a static world - there are signs that the Moon used to be an active planet - with signs of volcanoes and indications of a magnetic field frozen in rocks.Impact craters that flooded with molten rock are also indications of active periods on the Moon.A new study now suggests that the residual magnetic fields hint towards a violent event which flipped the Moon on its side, writes website Ars Technica. The study was published in the journal Nature Geoscience.
Evidence suggests that the Moon was formed when a Mars-sized body collided with the early Earth - leaving both in a molten state. The Moon would have then been left with a sufficiently molten core giving it the ability to have generated a magnetic field for hundreds of millions of years.According to Ars Technica, remnants of the magnetic field would have remained trapped in rocks.A team of Japanese researchers has now analyzed magnetic data from two lunar orbiters, the Lunar Prospector and Kaguya, writes Ars Technica. Both orbited the Moon at low altitudes, under 25 miles (under 40km), and tracked the Moon's magnetic fields. After eliminating areas displaying complexmagnetic anomalies, the team focused on data from 57 different sites on the Moon. They used the readings to calculate the orientation of the Moon's magnetic field atvarious points in its history. While many of the data points clustered atthe current pole, a second set clustered somewhere between 45 and 60 degrees away from the pole.Earth also experiences some degree of ‘polar wander' - but the pole has made a gradual track as Earth's angular momentum shifted. The scientists found that the moon shifted on its axis suddenly - as there are no indications of gradual track between the two locations. As the authors note, "A change in the apparent pole position corresponds to a reorientation of the lunar surface with respect to the rotation axis," writes Ars Technica. The authors suggest a number of events could have been the cause, including significant meteor impacts, internal instabilities, and the gravitational disturbances caused by migrations of the Solar System's gas giants, writes Ars Technica. This isn't the first indication that the Moon may have shifted its orientation.Earlier research has also examined the distribution of craters on the Moon's surface - which would ordinarily be biasedtoward a greater number of craters on theMoon's far side.Instead, it has led some researchers to suggest that the near and far side of the Moon shifted positions sometime in the distance past. While researchers believe the event occurred - methods to track the shift have not been precise enough to indicate when the event took place.

Countdown to ‘Chaos’: Diplomat Predicts How Many Days We Have Left Before Climate Disaster
In two languages, French Foreign Minister Lauren Fabius started the countdown Tuesday to climate change disaster, speaking in Washington before a meeting with American counterpart Secretary of State John Kerry.
“We have 500 days to avoid the climate chaos,” Fabius said in French.
Speaking then in English, Fabius touched on Iran, Syria, and Ukraine, but then quickly returned to climate change.
“And very important issues, issue of climate change, climate chaos,” the foreign minister said. “And we have – as I said, we have 500 days to avoid climate chaos.

We're About To Learn A Lot More About Area 51
The exhibit features an alleged "authentic alien artifact" -- small pieces of material that came from a reported 1986 UFO crash in Russia.
Also on display are unique UFO photographs from the personal collection of Robert Bigelow, founder of Bigelow Aerospace, that is creating the next generation of spacecraft.
Palmer personally selected Bigelow's UFO images to include in the Area 51 exhibit.
"What's remarkable about them is that they were original negatives -- not prints -- they were negatives that we made prints from, so we know they were not doctored, they're all pre-Photoshop. These are photographic images of UFOs from around the world, going back to the 1940s up through the 70s. In some of the images, you can see that they may be confused with some naturally occurring phenomena, but there are others that are clearly not."

Have aliens already visited Earth? Nasa book suggests that ancient rock art could have been created by extraterrestrials
Each month a new planet is discovered that bears similarities to our own - and it is becoming increasingly apparent Earth is not unique.
So it stands to reason that of the billions of Earth-like planets in our galaxy alone, there might be another that hosts life.
It’s a thought that is gaining more credence all the time, and now Nasa has released a fascinating book detailing how, or if, we might communicate with some of these worlds.
Scroll down to read the PDF of the book
A new book made for Nasa called Archaeology, Anthropology and Interstellar Communication details the methods through which we might communicate with aliens. Although this artist's illustration is a bit fanciful, the authors suggest that Earth may already have been visited
Some of the most interesting chapters tackle the issue of alien communication in the past, present and future.
In one section, for example, William Edmondson from the University of Birmingham considers the possibility that rock art on Earth is of extraterrestrial origin.
‘We can say little, if anything, about what these patterns signify, why they were cut into rocks, or who created them,’ he writes.
‘For all intents and purposes, they might have been made by aliens.’
The book is titled Archaeology, Anthropology and Interstellar Communication.
THE HISTORY OF SETI
In 1959, Cornell physicists Gieuseppi Cocconi and Philip Morrison published an article discussing the potential to use microwave radio to communicate between stars.
A year later in 1960, astronomer Frank Drake conducted the first hunt for alien life with an 85-foot (25 metres) antenna in West Virgina, but after two months concedes defeat.
In the 1960s, Soviet Union performs extensive searches for ET, again with no success.
In the 1970s Nasa began to take an interest in Seti, with the chances of success seemingly growing as technology advanced.
In 1988, Nasa began sweeping surveys of the night sky for signals, but Congress terminated funding a few years later.
The independent Seti Institute, established in 1984, took over the job.
In 1992 the first planet outside the solar system is confirmed, an almost certainly uninhabitable world orbiting a pulsar.
In 2009 Nasa’s Kepler telescope launches and, over the next few years, finds hundreds of planets.
And just last month, the first planet of a similar size to Earth and at the correct distance from its parent star to host water, called Kepler 186-f, was found.
It is the most likely place that has been found that could host life as we know it.
It was edited for Nasa by Douglas Vakoch, Director of Interstellar Message Composition at the Seti Institute.
With the help of other experts he tackles a number of topics including the prospect of life on other planets and the means through which we might send or receive a message.
Vakoch begins the 330-page book by postulating how difficult it might be to make first contact.
‘If a radio signal is detected in a modern Seti experiment, we could well know that another intelligence exists, but not know what they are saying,’ he writes in the book’s introduction.
He goes on to add: ‘Even if we detect a civilisation circling one of our nearest stellar neighbours, its signals will have traversed trillions of miles, reaching Earth after travelling for years.’
But, all hope is not lost – throughout the book Vakoch and his colleagues tackle these very problems, and provide solutions that may prove invaluable in the future.
‘To move beyond the mere detection of such intelligence, and to have any realistic chance of comprehending it, we can gain much from the lessons learned by researchers facing similar challenges on Earth,’ he continues.
‘Like archaeologists who reconstruct temporally distant civilisations from fragmentary evidence, Seti researchers will be expected to reconstruct distant civilisations separated from us by vast expanses of space as well as time.
‘As we attempt to decode and interpret extraterrestrial messages, we will be required to comprehend the mindset of a species that is radically Other.’

Australia and Canada form climate alliance: Seek to avoid carbon ta...
Stephen Harper and Australia's Tony Abbott won't let climate policies kill jobs
Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbot, right, in Ottawa to meet with Prime Minister Stephen Harper, said climate change is not the 'most important problem the world faces.'
The political leaders of Canada and Australia declared on Monday they won’t take any action to battle climate change that harms their national economies and threatens jobs.
Prime Minister Stephen Harper and his Australian counterpart, Tony Abbott, made the statements following a meeting on Parliament Hill.
Abbott, whose Liberal party came to power last fall on a conservative platform, publicly praised Harper for being an “exemplar” of “centre-right leadership” in the world.
Abbott’s government has come under criticism for its plan to cancel Australia’s carbon tax, while Harper has been criticized for failing to introduce regulations to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in Canada’s oil and gas sector.
Later this week, Abbott meets with U.S. President Barack Obama, who has vowed to make global warming a political priority and whose administration is proposing a 30-per-cent reduction of carbon dioxide emissions from power plants by 2030.
At a Monday news conference, Harper and Abbott both said they welcomed Obama’s plan. Abbott said he plans to take similar action, and Harper boasted that Canada is already ahead of the U.S. in imposing controls on the “electricity sector.”
But both leaders stressed that they won’t be pushed into taking steps on climate change they deem unwise.
“It’s not that we don’t seek to deal with climate change,” said Harper. “But we seek to deal with it in a way that will protect and enhance our ability to create jobs and growth. Not destroy jobs and growth in our countries.”
Harper said that no country is going to undertake actions on climate change — “no matter what they say” — that will “deliberately destroy jobs and growth in their country.
“We are just a little more frank about that.”
Abbott said climate change is a “significant problem” but he said it is not the “most important problem the world faces.
“We should do what we reasonably can to limit emissions and avoid climate change, man-made climate change,” said Abbott.
“But we shouldn’t clobber the economy. That’s why I’ve always been against a carbon tax or emissions trading scheme — because it harms our economy without necessarily helping the environment.”
Abbott’s two-day trip to Ottawa was his first since becoming prime minister and it quickly became evident he is on the same political page as Harper.
They are both conservative politicians who espouse the need to balance the budget, cut taxes, and focus on international trade.
Just as Harper once turned to former Australian prime John Howard for political guidance, Abbott is now turning to his Canadian counterpart as a model.
He recalled how he met Harper in late 2005, just before the federal election that brought Harper to power.
“You were an opposition leader not expected to win an election. But you certainly impressed me that day. And you’ve impressed not only Canadians but a generally admiring world in the months and years since that time.”
“I’m happy to call you an exemplar of centre-right leadership — much for us to learn, much for me to learn from the work you’ve done.”
Harper paid tribute to Abbott for the work he has done as chair of the G20, which will hold a meeting in November in Australia.
“You’ve used this international platform to encourage our counterparts in the major economies and beyond to boost economic growth, to lower taxes when possible and to eliminate harmful ones, most notably the job-killing carbon tax,” said Harper.

All the terms we have seen on zetatalk for years that were forbidden in any major media outlet for decades are now flooding openly all over the place in media. I've heard nearly all of them in one tv show or another at this point with 90% related to the poleshift predictions given by the Zetas decades ago touched upon at some point. Not all in one show or episode, but close to all of the pieces to the puzzle have been revealed in separate media tv show pieces. Of course plausible deniability is used along with being alluded to as merely "possibilities" etc... But the media is getting it out there at an ever quickening pace if a person wants to see them all and take the time to catch them on tv. I can also see the positioning of establishment talking heads being made. Certainly is interesting and presents people with new opportunities to discuss these things with more people if desired.

Chile releases official study on UFO photos
The government office investigating UFOs in Chile has released an analysis of two high quality photos showing what appear be genuine unidentified flying objects above a remote copper mine. The office, known as the CEFAA (Committee for the Studies of Anomalous Aerial Phenomena), is located within the Ministerial Department of Civil Aeronautics (DGAC), the equivalent of our FAA, under the jurisdiction of the Chilean Air Force. It is responsible for the analysis of selected reports of unexplained aerial phenomena in Chilean airspace, most of them from pilots and aviation personnel.
The photos were taken at the Collahuasi copper mine, more than 14,000 feet above sea level in the Andean plateau in the far north of Chile. An extremely remote location with low oxygen levels and unusually clear skies, the area is desolate and inhospitable. The Collahuasi mine produces copper concentrate, copper cathodes and molybdenum concentrate from three open-pit mineral deposits. (Click here for a map).
Four technicians - professionals specializing in electricity, electronics, and fluid control - were working there in April, 2013. They witnessed a disc-shaped object which approached slowly and was present for more than an hour, moving around in different positions and hovering at about 2000 feet. One technician took pictures with his Kenox Samsung S860 camera. The strange object made no sound, and eventually moved away towards the East.
The witnesses decided not to tell anybody because of the negative associations they had with UFO sightings, and therefore had every intention of always keeping the sighting private. But some months later, the photographer casually showed the pictures to the chief engineer at the mine, who asked for copies. The engineer sent the images to the CEFAA in February, and provided the agency with information reported to him by the witnesses. He too has requested anonymity.
Chile's meteorological office at the DGAC confirmed that there was an absolute clear sky at that time, and that there was no possibility of lenticular clouds. All other meteorological phenomena have been ruled out by Chilean officials as a possible explanation.
CEFAA officials told me they determined that there were no drones operating near the mine. "People in that zone know about drones," said Jose Lay, international affairs director for the CEFAA. "Fishing companies use drones and they make a lot of noise. This was definitely not a drone." DGAC officials also ruled out any experimental aircraft, planes, weather balloons, or anything else that could explain the incident.
With all conventional explanations eliminated, the CEFAA staff determined that the photos were worthy of analysis. The results of this study, conducted by a leading CEFAA analyst at the DGAC Meteorological Office, was released on July 3rd and is posted on the CEFAA website.
The report states that the witnesses described the phenomenon as "a flattened disc, of brilliant color, with a diameter of 5 to 10 meters [16 to 32 feet]. It performed ascending, descending and horizontal movements in short lengths, about 600 meters above the ground." The witnesses had the impression that the object was under intelligent control.
The first image, enlarged and filtered, shows a solid object reflecting the sunlight, the report states. It adds that the object could be emitting it's own energy as well, due to the high temperature shown in the image (the black area).
The second photo shows the object in a different position in the sky. (The CEFAA does not know the time sequence between the two images.)
The text on this diagram of the enlarged second image indicates lines where very soft rays were reflected from an "extremely luminous half sphere." The analyst concludes that the object "emitted its own energy that does not coincide with the natural sunlight which is also reflected off the object." At noon, the brightness underneath could not have been caused by the sun, which was reflected off the top.
The study concludes that "It is an object or phenomenon of great interest, and it can be qualified as a UFO."
Despite the strength of this analysis, the CEFAA staff recognize the limitations of the Collahuasi case. "The witnesses were not willing to cooperate," Jose Lay told me. "We tried to contact them, and we got no reply. So we treated the material just as we have treated several others of the same or similar nature: we file them for future reference or comparison purposes. That's all we can do in this case."
Retired General Ricardo Bermudez, director of the CEFAA, says "We recognize that this is the determination of only one CEFFA analyst among several. So we still must be cautious." He has called a meeting of the CEFFA scientific committee, composed of high level specialists from laboratories and universities, for next week. Although they are not expert visual photo-video analysts, the opinion of this distinguished group, which supports the work of the CEFAA and assists with investigations when needed, could shed further light on the case.
The South American media has shown great interest in these images. In the US, retired Navy physicist Bruce Maccabee, a well known photo analyst, has this to say: "In the second image there appears to be a very bright hemispherical shape, convex downward... possibly a UFO enveloped in a cloud of vapor." He notes that additional data is needed to determine more, but that it is clear that the object moved "a considerable distance" between the two photos.
"This is clearly not a normal thing seen in the sky (bird, plane, cloud, etc.)," added Dr. Maccabee in an email. "That makes it either the real thing - UFO - or a hoax, and it doesn't appear to be a hoax, although the inability to question witnesses does reduce the credibility. Certainly this case is worthy of further study."
It is indeed unfortunate that the four witnesses have not been willing to speak to the authorities, who could guarantee them anonymity. But even so, these images are important because they were studied by a government agency with access to the pertinent information needed for a proper analysis. That in itself is unusual. I commend the CEFAA for taking on cases such as this. The experts there conducted a serious investigation, and then released the information to the public, with no reservations about acknowledging the possible existence of a UFO, since that is warranted.

10,000yo Indian cave paintings of ‘aliens, spaceship’ puzzle archaeologists
Published time: July 16, 2014 11:05
Prehistoric paintings in a cave in India may indicate that alien travelers visited the site eons ago, an archeologist says. The paintings depict what appear as humanoids with featureless faces and a tripod object that could be a vehicle.
The peculiar find was discovered in a cave system under the Charama region in Kanker district in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh. Preliminary dating says the pictures are at least 10,000 years old, reports the Times of India.
Archaeologist JR Bhagat believes that the paintings can serve as evidence of the paleocontact hypothesis, which says that in prehistoric times Earth was visited by members of an advanced alien civilization.

Presidential Proclamation -- National Preparedness Month, 2014
NATIONAL PREPAREDNESS MONTH, 2014
- - - - - - -
BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
A PROCLAMATION
In times of emergency, our Nation pulls together --neighbors support each other, communities react with compassion, and afterward, our country emerges stronger and more resilient. But before emergencies occur, we must make sure we are ready to respond, and it is every American's responsibility to be prepared. There are simple but important steps we can all take to ensure we know what to do and have what we need in the event of a crisis. National Preparedness Month is an opportunity to talk with our families, friends, and colleagues about the risks in our communities and to practice our responses in all the places we regularly visit.
Emergencies -- from hurricanes and wildfires to cyber and terrorist attacks -- can strike anywhere at any time. Americans should be familiar with local threats and hazards and take steps to reduce their devastating impacts. Families should assemble a disaster supplies kit well in advance and have a plan to reconnect after a tragedy. To make sure you are ready in the event of a crisis and to learn more about the types of disasters common in your area, visit www.Ready.gov or www.Listo.gov.
In regions affected by disaster, my Administration invested billions of dollars during the immediate aftermath to support a rapid response. We bolstered coordination with our local, State, tribal, and territorial partners to cut through red tape and kept our commitment to rebuild stronger and fully recover together. We are harnessing our Nation's innovative spirit to develop new tools and technologies that will empower survivors and better inform Americans before, during, and after an emergency. My Administration also launched America's PrepareAthon! to assist with increasing local readiness. Through this initiative, communities across our country will participate in the second national day of action on September 30, providing Americans of all ages with resources and opportunities to increase their preparedness.
Our Nation also faces longer wildfire seasons, more severe droughts, heavier rainfall, and more frequent flooding in a changing climate. That is why, as part of my Climate Action Plan, we are committed to building smarter, more resilient infrastructure that can withstand more frequent and more devastating natural disasters and to supporting our communities as they prepare for these impacts.
When and where emergencies occur are beyond our control -- but how we prepare and how we respond are up to us. This month, we honor the heroes who put the needs and lives of others before their own and rush to help in times of tragedy: our emergency responders and other extraordinary Americans who are prepared to act in critical moments. Let us resolve to be ready for any crisis and work to inspire a new generation of Americans, vested with the knowledge and experience to protect themselves, their families, and their communities in the face of any challenge.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, BARACK OBAMA, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim September 2014 as National Preparedness Month. I encourage all Americans to recognize the importance of preparedness and work together to enhance our national security, resilience, and readiness.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this twenty-ninth day of August, in the year of our Lord two thousand fourteen, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and thirty-ninth.

Imagine a world where it’s never night time; when one sun moves below the horizon another takes its place, providing endless light.
This might sound like a sci-fi scenario, but research now suggests that this could be far more common than thought.
In fact, up to 50 per cent of stars hosting planets may actually be in binary systems, providing their worlds with odd characteristics not seen in our solar system.

Spain prepares for an autumn of discontent by buying €1bn of riot gear
http://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/sep/08/spain-one-bn-on-riot-g...
The Spanish government is readying itself for an autumn of discontent, spending nearly €1bn on riot gear for police units as disparate protestgroups prepare a string of demonstrations.
Since June, the interior ministry has tendered four contracts to purchase riot equipment ranging from shields to stab vests. The ministry also finalised its purchase of a new truck-mounted water cannon, an anti-riot measure used during Spain's dictatorship and the transition to democracy but little seen in recent years. Despite attempts by opposition Socialist politician Antonio Trevín to paint the purchase as "a return to times that we would rather forget", the ministry said in its tender that the water cannon was necessary, "given the current social dynamic".

So I came accross this article on CBC today and I thought that it would 'fit' in this blog. It has to do with the fact that science has PROVEN that ORAL HISTORY passed down by a certain group (Inuit) for hundreds of years has been correct. One of the lost Franklin expedition ships has been found, and lo and behold...it was exactly in the same area the natives had told scientists since they started looking!
http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/north/franklin-find-proves-inuit-oral...
"For us Inuit it means that oral history is very strong in knowledge, not only for searching for Franklin's ships but also for environment and other issues," Kamookak said.
This is evidence in support of the fact that science needs to take the history of ancient cultures seriously (whether written or oral) and apply it. As the elder Kamookak said "Environmental issues etc..." need to be looked at more carefully with an open mind!
Just think of the inundation of oral and written history proving Planet X exists (and the subsequent prior shifts) when the announcement happens.

Expect the Unexpected: More 9.0 Megaquakes Are Coming, Study Says
Interesting that more and more now, the media is hinting at things to come without much explanation other than their own theories based on past quakes- in this case the message is "expect the unexpected" big quakes are coming inevitably and likely sooner and more frequent than we thought.
Vidale said the bottom line from the latest research is that "we know less than we claim about how big different earthquakes can be in different parts of the world."
That means the traditional way of designing structures to be earthquake-proof may have to change. In the wake of 2011's Japan earthquake and the Fukushima nuclear disaster, experts and regulators are already coming around to the concept of "expecting the unexpected."

CONTINUING THE MILITARIZATION OF PUBLIC BODIES IN THE US - NOW SCHOOL DISTRICTS ARE BEING GIVEN MILITARY SUPPLIES
San Diego Unified School District aquires a a Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected vehicle, more commonly known as an MRAP, or the US military's answer to the improvised explosive devices (IEDs) so favored by insurgents in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Now, you might be asking, are the officers of the San Diego Unified School District Police (sidebar: is it normal nowadays for school districts to have police departments?) regularly subject to ambushes and/or IEDs? It seems unlikely.
Instead, the district says the vehicle will be used for search and rescue, according to KPBS, the local public broadcaster.
"Our idea is: How can we get in and pull out a classroom at a time of kids if the...? If there's a fire [or] if there's an earthquake, can we rip down a wall? Stuff like that," Captain Joe Florentino told KBPS
"It's not police militarizing schools," he told KBPS. "There will be medical supplies in the vehicle. There will be teddy bears in the vehicle. There will be trauma kits in the vehicle in the event any student is injured, and our officers are trained to give first aid and CPR."

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/09/17/school-military-supplies_n...
Pinellas County School District in Pinellas County, Florida, is one of over 20 districts around the country with a police force or public safety department in possession of former military supplies, thanks to the Department of Defense's Excess Property Program, or 1033 program. Since 1997, the initiative has provided excess military equipment to state agencies like local and public university police forces, but it has come under renewed scrutiny in the weeks following the Ferguson demonstrations.
The 1033 program provides supplies ranging from extreme weapons, like grenade launchers, to everyday materials, like laptops. State agencies must apply in order to receive extra materials from the military, and all the equipment is on indefinite loan. In Pinellas County School District, the district's police department received almost two dozen M16 rifles.
"Our hope is that our officers never have a need to use this equipment," Melanie Marquez Parra, the district's public information officer, told The Huffington Post. "These are items we acquired so they could have equipment for worst-case scenario situations."

However, Rep Alan Grayson had introduced an amendment in June to prevent local police forces from getting free military equipment, through this weapons program.
The house voted it down 355 to 62.
The program was meant for the DOD to transfer excess or used equipment to local police forces. However, the american civil liberties union says in 36 % of the cases, the equipment is new.

Governor Sam Brownback declares October “Zombie preparedness month” as he unveils plans to protect the city from the living dead
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/northamerica/usa/11121755...
Sam Brownback, the state’s Republican governor, has decided that October is to be “zombie preparedness month”.
He will sign a formal declaration on Friday to encourage Kansans to prepare for all disasters including an invasion of the undead.
Kansans are told to ready themselves for the zombie invasion in much the same way as typhoons, floods and other natural disasters.
Requirements include three days food and a home emergency kit.
"You want to make sure you have all the food and water you need," Devan Tucking, the state's Deputy Emergency Operations manager told the Telegraph.
"You need to work on your zombie alerts. Of course if you look like a zombie you may be able to escape from them.
"Good cardio fitness is useful if you want to run away and have good running shows. Ladies should get rid of their high heels.
"If you hear a strange sound, don't go their on your own, use a buddie system. If you do run away, don't look back and get some good maps and make sure you know your area.
"You may want to avoid cemeteries.
“If you are prepared for a zombie apocalypse, you are prepared for anything.”
Preparing for a zombie invasion appears to be one of the few things uniting Democrats and Republicans with President Barack Obama’s administration drawing up its own strategy in a 31-page document to deal with the threat.
“It is our way of telling people that even if the severe weather season is over, the winter is coming up,” a spokesman for Governor Brownback said.
To drum up interest in the zombie threat, the state is even holding a “fun lurch” over the weekend with a “disaster on the go” pack being handed out to the first 300 people – alive or undead – who show up.

CITING TERRORISM AS A REASON, CHINA ARMS ITS POLICE FORCE WITH LITTLE OR NO TRAINING
http://www.washingtonpost.com/world/asia_pacific/after-china-gives-...
LUOKAN VILLAGE, China — Invoking the threat of terrorism, Chinese police for the first time in years have started carrying guns and, with little training, using them.
The fatal effects have rippled across the country, reaching even this tiny mountain village.
China’s removal of a ban on police guns came in response to a gruesome attack on a train station several hundred miles from here, but it has given the police almost blanket authority to shoot whenever they see fit.
More than a decade into America’s war on terror, China is launching its own. And experts worry that the flood of newly armed police — combined with poor training and the government’s take-no-prisoners attitude — could become as fearful a problem as the terrorism it is intended to combat.
In the latest police-related violence, at least 40 people died Sunday in China’s restive Xinjiang region, according to state-run news media, which attributed the incident to terrorists and identified the deceased as “rioters” shot by police or killed in explosions.
By contrast, the sleepy village of Luokan is about as remote and unlikely a place for terrorism as can be found. Yet when police fatally shot a man recently in the middle of a busy market here, they declared him a terrorist as well and abruptly closed the case.
“But everyone knows this is a lie,” said one villager in a hushed midnight interview inside his home.
“There are no terrorists here,” said another beside him. “The only ones we’re afraid of are the police.”
While police shootings are often viewed with suspicion worldwide — most notably in the death last month of an unarmed black teenager in Ferguson, Mo. — there are few countries where local authorities have as much power as they do in China to suppress all evidence afterward.
No one knows how many people die here from gun violence each year, much less from police shootings, because of government secrecy.
Among the killings publicly reported in the past five months, since the policy change: A man with a history of mental illness shot by police in Sichuan province. An allegedly drunk officer in Luoping county who quarreled with one man and then killed another who was trying to intervene, according to reports quickly taken down by censors.
And at a gun-safety demonstration in front of kindergartners in Henan province, an officer fired a loaded gun, thinking it was empty, and sent a child and several parents to the hospital.
At a recent training session in Shandong province, one detective said, several officers — not aware of the recoil force that comes with shooting — gripped their guns improperly and broke their thumbs.
Some police officers have been issued licenses without visiting the firing range, because their departments are fudging paperwork, according to officers who spoke on the condition of anonymity.
“Most of us haven’t shot a gun in years,” said the detective. “A lot of cops are afraid to even hold one.”

Steep Sell-Off Spreads Fear to Wall Street
http://dealbook.nytimes.com/2014/10/15/stocks-tumble-on-global-grow...
Waves of nervous selling buffeted the stock market in the United States on Wednesday, after a steep sell-off in Europe. At one point, the Dow Jones industrial average had plunged 460 points, or 2.8 percent, though it later swung higher to close down 1.1 percent, or 173.45 points. The Standard & Poor’s 500-stock index fell 0.8 percent, or 15.21 points. Since their peak a month ago, American stocks have lost over $2 trillion in value, losses that may ripple through the wider economy.

European stocks rose in early trading on Friday, halting the week's sharp drop after Wall Street pared losses as macro data soothed fears about the U.S. economic outlook.
At 0703 GMT, the FTSEurofirst 300 index of top European

But gains looked fragile, and a warning from Rolls-Royce that it would not return to growth next year fuelled worries over corporate profits and sent shares of the Britishengineering group down 7 percent.
The month-long sell-off in European stocks has prompted U.S.-based investors to slash their exposure to Europe

A Lipper poll of 109 U.S.-domiciled funds invested in European stocks, which include exchange-traded funds' (ETFs) holdings, shows net outflows of $1.3 billion in the seven days to Oct 15, the biggest weekly redemptions since Lipper started to monitor the data in 1992.

http://m.phys.org/news/2014-10-global-surge-great-earthquakes-.html
The last ten years have been a remarkable time for great earthquakes. Since December 2004 there have been no less than 18 quakes of Mw8.0 or greater – a rate of more than twice that seen from 1900 to mid-2004. Hundreds of thousands of lives have been lost and massive damage has resulted from these great earthquakes. But as devastating as such events can be, these recent great quakes have come with a silver lining: They coincide with unprecedented advances in technological and scientific capacity for learning from them.
"We previously had very limited information about how ruptures grow into great earthquakes and interact with regions around them," said seismologist Thorne Lay of the University of California at Santa Cruz. "So we are using the recorded data for these recent events to guide our understanding of future earthquakes. We've gained a new level of appreciation for how one earthquake can influence events in other zones."
High on the list of areas ripe for a great quake is Cascadia, the Pacific Northwest, where the risk for great quakes had long been under appreciated. Evidence began surfacing about 20 years ago that there had been a great quake in the region in the year 1700. Since then the view of the great quake risk in Cascadia has shifted dramatically.
"We don't know many details about what happened in 1700," said Lay. There were no instruments back then to observe and record it. And so the best way to try and understand the danger and what could happen in Cascadia is to study the recent events elsewhere.
Over the last decade Lay and his colleagues have been able to gather fine details about these giant earthquakes using data from an expanded global networks of seismometers, GPS stations, tsunami gauges, and new satellite imaging capabilities such as GRACE, InSAR, and LandSAT interferometry. Among the broader conclusions they have come to is that great quakes are very complicated and idiosyncratic. Lay will be presenting some of those idiosyncrasies at the meeting of the Geological Society of America in Vancouver on Oct. 21.
"What we've seen is that we can have multiple faults activated," said Lay. "We've seen it off Sumatra and off Japan. Once earthquakes get going they can activate faulting in areas that were thought not physically feasible."
The great Sumatra-Andaman earthquake of Dec. 26, 2004, for instance, unzipped a 1,300 kilometer long segment of the subduction zone and unleashed one of history's most destructive, deadly tsunamis. Much of the rupture was along a region with very limited plate convergence. In Japan, the Kuril Islands, and the Solomon Islands, great mega-thrust ruptures have ruptured portions of the subduction zones that were thought too warm or weak to experience earthquakes.
"These earthquakes ruptured right through areas that had been considered to have low risk," said Lay. "We thought that would not happen. But it did, so we have to adjust our understanding."
Perhaps the best recent analogy to Cascadia is off the coast of Iquique, Chile, said Lay. There had been a great quake in 1877, and a conspicuous gap in quakes ever since. Like the 1700 Cascadia earthquake, there is little data for the 1877 event, which killed more than 2,500 people. In both subduction zones, the converging plates are thought to be accumulating strain which could be released in a very large and violent rupture. On April 1 of this year, some of that strain was released offshore of Iquique. There was a Mw8.1 rupture in the northern portion of the seismic gap. But it involved slip over less than 20 percent of the region that seismologists believe to have accumulated strain since 1877.
"We have no idea why only a portion of the 1877 zone ruptured," said Lay. "But clearly, 80 percent of that zone is still unruptured. We don't have a good basis for assessment of how the rest will fail. It's the same for Cascadia. We don't know if it always goes all at once or sometimes in sequences of smaller events, with alternatin

Could a tsunami strike Britain?
Twenty countries around the Mediterranean, the Black Sea and the Atlantic Ocean, including the UK, are being tested for tsunami readiness. But how likely is it that disaster will strike?
In general, when we think of the devastation wreaked by tsunamis, we think of it being a long way away. Around the Indian Ocean, or the Pacific, where there are huge geological faults and therefore frequent earthquakes, the most common cause of tsunamis.
Anyone who has visited countries around the coasts of those oceans will have seen the warning systems and safety drills in place, ordering people to get to high ground if a tsunami warning is declared.
But there are few such systems in place in Europe, so Unesco (the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Org...to determine how ready for a similar threat people are on countries around the Atlantic, the Black Sea and the Mediterranean.
Croatia, Cyprus, Egypt, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Lebanon, Malta, Monaco, Morocco, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, and the United Kingdom are involved in the test over the next three days, and another 19 countries will be examined in the future.
How likely is it that Britain will be hit by a tsunami?
The short answer is "not very". Most tsunamis are caused either by earthquakes in the ocean, or by huge undersea landslides, which themselves are usually caused by earthquake activity. (They can also be caused by meteor impacts - the Chicxulub impact that killed the dinosaurs is believed to have .... But if we are hit by a 10-mile-wide meteor again, we will probably have bigger problems.) We are lucky enough to live in a very seismically stable part of the world, and while tsunamis can travel long distances through seawater, most of our coastline is protected - either by the European continent, or Ireland.
While to Britain's north there is the seismically active region around Iceland, it is unlikely that there will be a truly major earthquake there, because it is not a "subduction zone", a place where two tectonic plates meet and one is driven underneath the other into the Earth's mantle.
Most major earthquakes, including the ones that caused the 2004 Boxing Day tsunami, the one that devastated Japan in 2011, and the Chilean earthquake of 2010, happen on subduction zones.
There is a possibility that a subduction zone is developing off the..., spreading there from the Mediterranean. However, since geological processes are usually measured in tens or hundreds of thousands of years, that is unlikely to be an urgent problem - and even when it happens, Britain will still be protected by the Iberian pensinsula.
(UPDATE: having said that, someone called @mushymelbowhead on Twitter has pointed me to this article which suggests that a tsunami may have killed 2,000 pe....)
How likely is it that other European countries will be hit by a tsunami?
Rather more likely. Portugal has already been hit by two very major earthquakes in (relatively) recent history, despite not lying on a subduction fault - it was these anomalous quakes in 1755 and 1969 that led researchers to consider the "developing subduction zone" hypothesis mentioned above. (The 1755 earthquake triggered a huge tsunami; it is estimated that 100,000 people died in Lisbon.) But the Mediterranean in general is steadily shrinking, as the African tectonic plate is subucted beneath the Eurasian plate; this is, of course, a subduction zone, and seismically active. In 1908, somewhere between 60,000 and 120,000 people died in Messina and Reggio, southern Italy, after a major (magnitude 7.1) earthquake shook the seabed on the narrow strait between the mainland and Sicily; thousands of the deaths were caused by 36-foot waves crashing into the coast around the epicentre. It is possible that the tsunami was caused by an undersea landslide triggered by the quake.
Other countries around the Mediterranean, including Turkey, have suffered devastating earthquakes. And in the Black Sea, in 1901, a magnitude 7.2 earthquake caused 15.... Major earthquakes are rare everywhere, but there are enough seismically active zones in Europe to make a tsunami early-warning system worthwhile.
What about "megatsunamis" caused by landslides?
We've really only talked about earthquake tsunamis so far, with the (possible) exception of the Messina-Reggio quake of 1908. But there has been a great deal of talk about the possibility of a megatsunami - one hundreds or thousands of feet tall - caused by a huge landslide; specifically, a landslide on the island of La Palma in the Canaries.
The hypothesis is that a huge shelf of rock, nearly the size of the Isle of Wight, could c..., perhaps triggered by an earthquake or volcano. The rock would hit the water faster than the water could get out of the way, goes the story, and would cause a wave 3,000 feet tall which would still be 150 feet tall by the time it hit the US Atlantic coast; the death toll would be enormous, perhaps millions.
It is dramatic and frightening, but almost certainly false; seismologists and geologists are near-universally agreed that it couldn't happen. The risk of landslide-triggered tsunamis is real in small bodies of water - in 1963, one major landslide fell into a lake behind a dam in Italy, causing a huge wave that overtopped the dam and roared down the val....
But there are no recorded episodes of this happening on an oceanic scale. And the La Palma rock is unlikely to collapse in one vast lump - research published in the journal Geochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems found that previous Canary Island landslides have happened in stages, not all at once. As this blog on the American Geophysical Union puts it, "this scare should be consigned to the garbage can once and for all".

Lockheed Martin scientist on deathbed says aliens are real (VIDEO
http://rt.com/news/200903-aliens-lockheed-martin-pictures/
Aliens, some as old as 200 years, are real and have visited Earth, a former Lockheed Martin senior scientist has claimed. In his final moments, he provided “photo evidence” while sharing his personal experiences of UFOs and extraterrestrials.
The controversial 33-minute video was made shortly before Boyd Bushman died on August 7, 2014. However, the footage has only recently emerged and is starting to garner widespread attention.
“I do have a top secret clearance,” he affirms at the beginning of the video. He goes on to state that incidents such as Roswell in 1947 – when a military Air Force surveillance balloon crashed – happened at the hands of aliens.
Bushman shared details about aliens, UFOs, and anti-gravity technology – which he says is being developed by US, Russian, and Chinese scientists at Area 51 (the US military facility).
In the video, Bushman is seen holding up second-hand “photo evidence” of aliens while describing them to viewers.
“They were approximately four and a half to five feet tall,” the former top aerospace scientist said. “They have three back bones. They’re actually cartilage,” he added, stating that they had fewer ribs than human beings. These aliens have fingers and toes like human beings.
He went on to state that their eyes and noses are different from humans, and that they are telepathic mind readers.
"They're able to use their own voice by telepathy to talk to you," he said. “You walk in the room with one of them, and all of a sudden you find yourself giving the answer to your question in your own voice.”
According to Bushman, there are two different groups of aliens.
“It’s like a cattle ranch,” he stated, adding that some can be up to 230 years old.“One group is wranglers, and the others are rustlers - the stealers of cattle.”
“Wranglers” are “much more friendly and have a better relationship with us.”
Bushman seemed to have known the details of where and how those aliens live.
He claimed the creatures are inhabitants of a planet called Quintumnia. It is located 68 light-years away from Earth, yet it takes them only 45 minutes to travel to our planet. At home, they commute through telepathy, Bushman insisted.
The deceased scientist went on to say that he actually saw their homes because he gave the aliens a camera to take pictures with. It is, however, hard to say what those pictures contain because the images turned out blurry.
In another revelation, Bushman said there is a special flight path from space to Area 51, a mysterious base in central Nevada where it is believed that aliens and their spacecrafts were stored.
He added that there are Americans working on UFOs from outer space 24 hours a day, reported the Metro.
“With respect to the alien craft, we have American citizens who are working on UFOs 24 hours a day,” he stated.
However, the alien seen in Bushman's photographs is actually available to buy at Walmart, according to an investigation by Quebec station TVQC.

is sincere and telling the truth as he knows it. However, his contacts with aliens and their technology was limited to a single race, which was Service-to-Self. His description of the aliens being divided into two camps – the wranglers and the wrestlers – seems to be a division into Service-to-Other and Service-to-Self, as he describes the wranglers as more friendly, but as is known among humans who are highly Service-to-Self, the ability to posture and act kind and caring can disguise the true nature of the orientation. Thus, much of what Boyd was told was a lie.
Their mode of interstellar travel, the length of time it took to travel, the supposed photos they took of their home planets, and how their anti-gravity

and energy producing technology worked were all fraudulently convened to Boyd. As is known, the Service-to-Self lie freely. The Council of Worlds allowed these Service-to-Self aliens to provide technology to man, but not the secrets of how it worked nor the ability to operate this technology. But the photos provided to Boyd of alien bodies are genuine, and were provided with the plan that he would have a role during disclosure, the deathbed revelation that has occurred.
Boyd also bought into the lies that his employers provided. Mankind was not able to reverse engineer alien technology. This lie has been promulgated in order to make man appear powerful in comparison to aliens. Arrogant members of MJ12 have, in the past, spread the rumor that they have alien technology,

yet no proof of this has ever emerged. Space ships given to MJ12 by Service-to-Self aliens were stored at Area 51, with attempts by humans to fly them resulting only in wobbling about or crashed ships.

Nor did these dead alien bodies arrive because a human in an airplane was allowed by the aliens to shoot down one of their ships! How absurd is this story?
In that Boyd so willingly repeated the false stories that his MJ12 employers wanted the public to believe, he was considered an ideal vehicle for these false stories. His credentials check out. He holds patents and has worked for the Military Industrial Complex. Even aged and at death’s door, he is obviously not senile. His story has the ring of truth. As told by Boyd, it is the truth as he knows it. This last video is an attempt to counter the release of the Skinny Bob video,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hx3ond0SzPQ
a video of another MJ12 guest who was of the Service-to-Other orientation and alive when filmed. What should the public believe? Stories told by Boyd Bushman, or their own eyes?
