"The causes of landslides are not a mystery to mankind. Layers of rock and soil such that rain running along a clay or rock layer can create a slippery surface for the weight of the layers above it is a common cause. A rock jumble from previous mountain building, broken or fractured rock easily dislodged. We have stated that the earthquakes man experiences between the periodic passages of Planet X can be considered aftershocks from the last passage, and this is true of landslides also. Mountain building rumples the landscape, so the land is not flat but has steep ravines and hill sides. Older mountain ranges are recognized for their rounded or smoothed appearance, because of frequent landslides distributing the rubble.
"As we approach another passage, another Pole Shift, the pace of landslides has picked up. Why would this be? Plates under pressure will put pressure on regions that contain rumpled hillsides and deep ravines, as these give more readily than strictly flat land, thus act as a weak link. In addition, due to the wobble, the weather has gotten more extreme, with drought and deluge increasing in extremes. Dry ground, suddenly flooded with rainwater needing to seek its level as runoff, will create internal water slides between the rock and soil layers that constitute the rumpled hillsides. Is there an early warning system that mankind could use? The trembles that soil about to slide emits could be detected, yes. These are not earthquakes, and have their own frequency. "

Hawkins County landslide leaves community concerned
Posted: Feb 21, 2019 11:36 PM EST
HAWKINS COUNTY, Tenn. (WJHL) - A landslide in Hawkins County on State Route 70 left one person dead and one injured.
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol Steven Lawson, 62, died. He was in one of the two cars swept away by the landslide.
The landslide happened in the early hours of morning on Thursday.
Residents in the Hawkins County area express they were shocked when they first heard of it.
"I guess it was one of those thing that you see that in California, but you'd never expect that here in Hawkins County that you would wake up one day and just realize that they would have to be evacuated from their homes because of something like a landslide," said Avery Fields, a Hawkins county resident.
At least three families were asked to evacuate and emergency responders say they're still worried about what is yet to come.
"Right now all the mountain ranges we have we are concerned about," said Gary Murrell, Hawkins County EMA Director. "We actually thought this morning that the slide wasn't gonna be there. We thought it would be at the next curve but it was not there."
One resident, Millard Hartley, has lived in the Rogersville area for over twenty five years. He has farmland on the other side of the State Route 70 landslide and is concerned the rain might make things worse.
"We've lived over here since 1993 and I have not seen it this wet in a long time," Hartley said.
Hartley also says he knew Steven Lawson's family and is devastated by the tragedy.
"I didn't know Steve, said Hartley. "I knew his family. They are good family oriented people and I'm just sorry this happened."
According to the Tennessee Department of Transportation, the road will be closed long term.

Woman Presumed Dead In Landslide at Fort Funston
February 23, 2019
Two women and a dog were caught in a landslide on a cliff at Fort Funston Friday afternoon. One woman and the dog were immediately rescued, and the second woman, said to be in her twenties, remains missing.
Update: The missing woman remains unfound as of Sunday morning, and rescuers now fear that her remains could have washed out to sea along with piles of debris on the beach, during multiple high tides since Friday.
The rescue mission became a recovery mission at 6 p.m. Friday night, as CBS SF reports, after the woman was presumed to have spent over three hours underneath the dirt.
San Francisco Fire Department rescuers reportedly added a boat to the search effort Saturday because tidewaters overnight may have washed away the pile of sand the woman was buried in.
The two women were reportedly trying to climb up the sand cliff around 2:30 p.m. Friday when it collapsed, and the rescue operation began at 2:40 p.m.

Bluff Collapse Closes Main Road to San Diego County Fair
May 28 2019
A main road used by crowds of people to get to the San Diego County Fair will be closed for at least another week and a half as construction crews repair the damage done by a bluff collapse last month.
Northbound Jimmy Durante Boulevard has been blocked off to drivers since on April 20.
Repairs began earlier this month but the road is not expected to officially reopen until at least June 4 - after the first weekend of the San Diego County Fair.
The city of Del Mar declared a local emergency to expedite repairs and help recover expenses. On Tuesday, construction crews told NBC 7 the repairs were ahead of schedule.
However, the San Diego County Fair kicks off May 31 and an average of 60,000 people are expected to attend the fair each day. The fair is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Traffic will be rerouted on Camino del Mar to Via De La Valle. Drivers will see signs and people holding flags to help them navigate the detour.
The cost of repairs is estimated at $1 million.

Avalanche Strands Cyclists on Glacier Park’s Sun Road
It took eight hours for park staff to clear a path through a large avalanche to reach 13 cyclists on the far side
May 28, 2019
A rockslide and an avalanche near Triple Arches on the Going-to-the-Sun Road left 13 cyclists stranded for eight hours on Memorial Day.
Glacier National Park officials closed the Going-to-the-Sun Road above The Loop on May 27 after a separate rockslide came down on the road and prevented emergency vehicle travel. However, many cyclists were already above the rockslide when the closure was put into effect.
Later in the day, a large avalanche came down on the road at Triple Arches. The snow slide was caught on video by a number of visitors in the area.
No one was injured in either the rockslide or avalanche.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J4Cga9mcLI8
Two volunteer bike patrollers were in the area at the time of the slide and relayed a call for help to park dispatch and a team of more than a dozen park staff, including rangers and equipment operators, were mobilized. An avalanche forecaster with the U.S. Geological Survey was also called to the site.
After clearing the rockslide, and ensuring that the avalanche had stabilized, park staff began to clear a path through the avalanche to gain access to the stranded cyclists. The 13 cyclists were trapped on the other side of the slide for about eight hours. Park officials said they were cold, but otherwise in good spirits.
A number of visitors chose to cross the avalanche so that they could continue their ride to Logan Pass. Park officials said that behavior is strongly discouraged and could lead to significant injury. If you must cross an avalanche path as a last resort, use a spotter to watch for additional slide activity up the mountain and cross one at a time.
“If you see fresh snow on the side of the road or across the road, even if you are excited about your bike trip, turn around,” Chief Ranger Paul Austin said in a press release issued Tuesday. “Take responsibility for your safety and though disappointing, plan on heading out another day. Biking along the Going-to-the-Sun Road is not the same as an easy bike trip around town.”
Glacier reminds visitors that conditions change rapidly in the park. Always pack extra food, bring extra clothes, and learn about potential hazards that may exist in the area you plan to visit.
Late last week, plow crews on the west side of the Going-to-the-Sun Road reached the Continental Divide at Logan Pass. The east side crews are now working in the area of Siyeh Bend. Both crews will converge on the “Big Drift” in the coming days, a section of road just east of Logan Pass, that typically sees drifts of 40 to 80 feet deep.
Although plows are making quick work of snow in Glacier Park, it will still be at least a month before the Sun Road opens to vehicle traffic due to road construction. The park is conducting a number of pavement projects, including on the Sun Road, and the earliest the entire road will be open to vehicle traffic will be June 22.
As of May 28, the Sun Road was open to vehicle traffic between West Glacier and Avalanche on the west side and St. Mary to Jackson Glacier Overlook on the east side. Hiker and biker access is currently limited to The Loop on the west side as plow crews continue to work on the alpine sections of highway.

Mudslide threatens condos, forces some residents to evacuate in Harrison
HARRISON, Ohio — A mudslide forced residents to evacuate from their hilltop condos after heavy rains this weekend continued to erode part of the hillside behind them.
About 30 residents of the Legacy by Fisher Homes neighborhood near Heritage Square were forced out after 2:30 a.m. Sunday after the Harrison Fire Department evacuated the condos nearest to the mudslide.
"The neighbors next to us, it's at their patio," said Deanna Frey, a resident who was evacuated early Sunday morning. "So any more rain, it might go.
"They allowed us to come back to get our belongings, and now there's a condemned sign on our door," said Frey.
On Monday, remaining residents were told power was going to be shut off at noon, but it was still on at 12:30 p.m.
The condos are on top of a hill, and emergency units on scene said the ground they were built on is eroding. To make matters worse, utility lines were exposed.
Emergency units said they will stay on scene in case there is further erosion. They also have to wait for an engineer to assess the damage to the exposed utility lines.
Neighbors said there have been issues with mudslides since December, but heavy, continuous rains Saturday night caused it to get much worse.
"We have and continue to offer our expertise and service to aid the Condominium Association in their analysis of the situation and long-term solution," Fischer Homes said, in a written statement Sunday evening. "We remain concerned for those homeowners who were evacuated as a result of the heavy storms and subsequent erosion. Fischer Homes has built more than 24,000 homes over the past 39 years with our customers' best interests always at the forefront. We remain in contact with the Condominium Association to help guide them through the ultimate resolution."

VIDEO. Neuquén: impressive landslide in Villa La Angostura left the city isolated
ARGENTINA
JULY 23, 2019 - 18:46
The circulation on National Route 40 was closed due to the great fall of a hill on the side of the road. One person managed to capture the amazing event on video.
Villa La Angostura is going through one of the most critical moments in its history, since the lack of light and water now added isolation due to a landslide on km 2094 of Route 40, leaving the road to that locality impassable.
The impressive collapse of one of the hills next to the route was videotaped and viralized in moments. From this morning National Road works in place to remove the debris and enable the passage to the Seven Lakes Road, but they reported that the cut will be until further notice due to the magnitude of the event.

At least 34 people were killed and scores feared missing after a landslide triggered by monsoon rains struck a village in eastern Myanmar on Friday, AFP reported. “We found 34 dead, and the search for dead bodies is still ongoing,” said local administrator Myo Min Tun.
A deluge of mud descended on Thae Pyar Kone village in Mon state on Friday (Aug. 9) , and washed out 16 homes and a monastery. Search and rescue teams worked through the night to find survivors and recover bodies from the sludge.
Officials believe that more than 80 people could still be missing.
Torrential rainfall burst riverbanks across the country and coastal communities have been warned of higher tides. According to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, around 89,000 people have been displaced by floods in recent weeks, although many have since been able to return home.
Residents waded out through waist-deep waters in eastern Bago region after the Sittaung river overflowed, and led to collapse of their homes.

Norway mountain finally crumbles, no injuries or damage
September 6 2019
COPENHAGEN (AP) - The 50m-tall summit of southern Norway's Veslemannen mountain has crumbled and triggered a long-anticipated landslide that caused no injuries or damage.
Lars Harald Blikra of Norway's Water Resources and Energy Directorate told Norwegian broadcaster NRK "it's fantastic to know that the landslide is finally over", saying they had been waiting for it "for so many years".
Heavy rain caused late Thursday's (Sept 5) landslides in the Mannen mountain range. Rockslide risks there have been reported since 2014, leading the authorities to issue alerts for the area.
On Aug 30, it was again raised to its highest and, as a precaution, a nearby train line was closed and 11 people were evacuated for the 16th time.
The scale of the landslide was not immediately known.

Landslide shuts down Marcos Highway
September 27, 2019 12:20 AM
BAGUIO CITY — Marcos Highway, one of the main access roads leading up to Baguio City, was temporarily closed when a landslide hit a portion of the road in Barangay Poblacion, Tuba, Benguet, which also resulted to two injuries last 25 September.
According to the Tuba Municipal Police Station, victims Angelli Jen Federico Bagote, 17, and Dominador Molina Gallema, 34, sustained head injuries when the jeep they were riding hit a collapsed electric post that was felled by the rock slide.
Marcos Highway was closed to all types of vehicles as it was obstructed by the fallen soil boulders and the electric post, which personnel of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Cordillera together with the Benguet Electric Cooperative swept with clearing operations making the highway passable by Wednesday evening.
However, the rock slide caused the traffic leading to Baguio to slow down because of only one passable lane in Marcos Highway while Kennon Road remains closed to rehabilitation.
The DPWH recommended motorists going to and from Baguio to pass through either Naguilian Road or Quirino Highway, which are longer routes.

Massive landslide closes highway on West Coast, days after it reopened
13:46, Oct 19 2019
A massive landslide has closed a highway near Greymouth on the West Coast, days after it reopened.
The 2.5 metre landslide happened overnight on State Highway 7 (SH7), at Omoto, east of Greymouth.
A historically active slip between Greymouth and Stillwater at Omoto, which moved after weeks of wet weather in mid-August, moved another 30 centimetres early in October.
As a result, the section of SH7, the main road linking Reefton and Greymouth, was closed. It reopened to a single lane on Tuesday.
The highway was closed at 5pm on Friday and would be closed until at least Tuesday, New Zealand Transport Agency West Coast maintenance manager Moira Whinham said.
It would be re-assessed at 10am on Tuesday.
A short detour was in place across the Grey River, via Taylorville. The detour had turnoffs at Stillwater and Cobden bridges on the north side of the Grey River.
Continuous heavy rain and high river levels contributed to the slip. Rain on Friday and Saturday morning saw the slip accelerate and drop by more than 2 metres overnight.
Drivers were asked to take it slow, particularly through Taylorville.

Deadly flooding, landslides strike Brazil
At least 30 people have been killed following more than two days of torrential rains in the southeast of the country. The severe weather comes one year after a dam break killed nearly 300 people.
Two days of torrential downpours have unleashed heavy flooding and landslides in southeastern Brazil, killing at least 30 people, according to authorities.
Civil defense officials said another 17 individuals were listed as missing following the landslides and building collapses.
An additional 2,600 residents have been evacuated from their homes in the state of Minas Gerais, regions of which have been devastated by the heavy rains.
Rescue workers in Minas Gerais used a break in the rains to try to clean up some of the damage caused by rain-triggered landslides
Fatalities were reported in Belo Horizonte, the state's capital and largest city, where a new record was set for the greatest amount of rainfall in a 24-hour period. Additional deaths were reported in the state's interior areas.
The governor of Minas Gerais, Romeu Zema, will fly over the flooded area on Sunday to evaluate the damage.

More rain is expected in the area, as well as in other parts of Brazil, including Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paolo.
The deadly floods came the same weekend that Brazilians were commemorating the deaths of 270 people killed one year ago when a dam burst in the municipality of Brumadinho, also in Minas Gerais.

A cliff collapses on a road near the Dead Sea
February 4, 2020
The road was blocked and the cliff collapsed: Police blocked traffic on Route 31 from Zohar Junction to Houthor Junction at noon following a collapse of part of the cliff on the road. The road is blocked to traffic in both directions. Dramatic documentation looks like a mobile is blocking the road – and then part of the mountain collapses.

About two weeks ago, a similar case also happened. Even then, the road closure connecting Arad to the Dead Sea was closed due to the collapse of part of the mountain on the road at the end of the descent to the Dead Sea.

Turkey avalanche: At least 28 dead after second landslide hits rescue workers
An avalanche has slammed into a mountain road in eastern Turkey, wiping out a huge team of rescue workers sent to find two people missing in an earlier avalanche.
Officials said 23 rescue workers were killed while others were still buried under the snow.
Wednesday’s avalanche increased the overall death toll from the disaster to 28.
Some 300 emergency service workers were called to a road near the mountain-surrounded town of Bahcesehir in Van province, which borders Iran, after an avalanche struck late on Tuesday, killing five people.
Governor Mehmet Emin Bilmez said 25 emergency service members were rescued from under the snow and taken to hospital. This takes the death toll to 28 in total.
There was no further information on their conditions.
Five people were killed and two others were missing after the first avalanche buried a snow-clearing vehicle and a minibus. The vehicle's operator and seven passengers escaped alive.
The second avalanche struck on Wednesday as hundreds of emergency workers were searching for the two missing victims, private NTV television reported, adding that fog and heavy snow were hampering the rescue efforts.
State-run Anadolu Agency said the operator, Bahattin Karagulle, was trapped beneath the snow for some 25 minutes before he managed to break a window and escape.
The agency quoted him as saying that he walked towards a village before he was picked up by a vehicle and managed to seek help

TWO people have been trapped in the Basque Country because of a landslide.
No signs of life however have yet to be found from the two missing people.
The landslide cut the AP-8 motorway in both directions, which connects Bilbao with San Sebastian.
The incident occurred in Zaldibar, between the towns of Ermua and Eibar.
Emergency services originally started looking for the two people that were trapped as a result but have now had to temporarily suspend their search because of the presence of asbestos.
Josu Zubiaga, Deputy Minister of Security of the Basque Government, said: “They have detected a large amount of asbestos from the collapse deposit.”
He continued on to say that a decision will be made later on today about whether the search will be resumed and what actions need to be taken.
The landslide has caused a spill of more than half a million cubic meters of industrial waste, including asbestos, over the valley that flows into the highway.
This spill has managed to cover an area of 30 metres wide.

Mudslide closes only road to 120-person neighborhood near Monroe; could take a year to fix and reopen
Feb. 10, 2020 at 7:11 am
Seattle
Ken Hopkins said his Snohomish County community often deals with constant rain, heavy snow and ice — but in his 35 years of living in the area, he’s never seen something like this.
“This is kind of a big one,” he said Monday afternoon.
Hopkins lives in Skyview Estates, a 44-house development in Monroe that’s only access to the world comes from a private road. Last week’s deluge of rain created a river of mud that almost completely cut them off from it.
About 150 feet of 260th Avenue Southeast has been destroyed, said Samantha Idle, a Skyview Estates board member. It’s currently accessible only by all-terrain vehicle or on foot.
“We don’t really have a way out,” Hopkins said. “I’m hoping our neighbors are going to step up and say, ‘Let’s make it work.’”
He said that because part of the road is still there, he and his neighbors have been getting up and down the hill by carpooling on some of the residents’ ATVs. Snohomish County Fire District 5 also has an ATV equipped to transport patients in case of emergency, said department spokeswoman Heather Chadwick.
“But I think that novelty is going to wear off soon,” Hopkins said. “Reality is starting to set in.”
About 120 people live in the affected neighborhood, and some residents were escorted out of the area Sunday evening so they could get to school and work.
“This is serious,” Idle said. “We need help.”
Road repair could take anywhere from seven months to over a year, she said. The community is hoping they’ll qualify for some grants to cover the costs.
Meanwhile, King County officials also started making emergency plans in case of landslides in the area.
County officials announced Monday that because of land movement danger in Fall City, they’re asking residents to voluntarily evacuate.
The land movement is threatening 356th Drive near Highway 202, according to a King County Road Services tweet. The road provides sole access for about 75 homes, said Broch Bender, a King County Road Services spokesperson.
“It’s not ominous,” Bender said. “It’s just out of an abundance of caution. The road is open now.”
King County will have a soil expert on scene Tuesday to evaluate next steps, the agency tweeted. There is no estimate for when the land movement will stabilize.
Near Mount Rainier, several roads are closed because of landslides and washouts, according to the Associated Press. The National Park Service has been running an escort convoy each day over a Forest Service back road for residents dealing with the landslide, so they can get supplies.
Crystal Mountain Resort, which has been closed for days by slides on roads leading to the ski area, is planning to reopen Tuesday, pending approval from state transportation officials, the AP reported

At least 10 labourers killed as landslide hits marble excavation site in Buner, Pakistan
Daily Times (Pakistan)
Sun, 23 Feb 2020 19:23 UTC
At least 10 people were killed and five others injured when a landslide hit a marble excavation site in Salarzai area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Buner district on Saturday.
According to KP Relief Department, more than 30 labourers were working at the marble mine in Bampokha village when portions of it collapsed, burying the workers under marble slabs and mounds of earth. Around a dozen labourers are still feared to be trapped under the rubble while a rescue operation is underway to recover them.
Soon after the incident, both police and rescue officials, along with the local residents, rushed to the spot and started rescue and relief works. They pulled out 14 labourers trapped under the rubble. However, 10 of them could not survive the incident, with four others sustaining serious injuries.
The bodies and the injured were rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital Daggar, while some of the injured were also shifted to Swat Medical Complex and Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar. On-duty doctors confirmed that out of the five injured, four were in a critical condition while one received minor injuries.
A statement issued by the relief department said the deputy commissioner has contacted the director general mining to dispatch a technical team for the assessment of the area where people are feared to be trapped. "There is a risk of further sliding because it is the vulnerable area/portion of the mountain ... this could further escalate sliding risk while carrying out the rescue operation," the statement added.
According to the relief department, police personnel, volunteer organisations and local community members are helping with the rescue operation. The requisite machinery and ambulances are also available at the scene.
KP Chief Minister Mehmood Khan, taking notice of the incident, directed one of his aides, Riyaz Khan, to visit the site at the earliest. "We stand with the affected families in this hour of grief," he said in a statement, and directed the officials concerned to expedite the rescue efforts and use all resources available to ensure swift recovery of those still trapped in the rubble.
The Salarzai Bampokha region is rich in marble resources, which are transported to parts of KP in large quantities. According to locals, these marble mines fulfil about 70 per cent requirement of the rock across the country. The landowners, leaseholders and agents earn billions of rupees but the labourers are often exposed to threats during mining, locals say.

"There are communities that have lost homes and properties and the NDMO has been working with the Red Cross and other NGOs to access non-food items, such as shelter kits, garden, kitchen and hygiene kits to be delivered," Mr Yates said.
Meanwhile, the Solomon Islands Meteorological Service has cancelled a heavy rain warning for the country.
The warning, previously in place for all provinces and conveyed thruogh the National Emergency Operations Centre, was this morning lifted.

The closure is between the Roosevelt Lake bridge and the Roosevelt dam at milepost 242, about 2 miles west of Roosevelt Lake. Access to Apache Lake is cut off by this closure.
There were no injuries reported. There is no estimated reopening time; however, this is expected to be an extended closure while crews remove earth and rocks.
In addition, an unpaved section of SR 88 remains closed indefinitely between the Fish Hill Creek overlook at milepost 229 and the Apache Lake Marina turnoff near milepost 222 due to extensive damage that occurred last year from flooding out of the Woodbury Fire burn scar. Heavy rains caused several landslides compromising the historic roadway.

Mudslides knock out Ecuador crude pipelines
April 8 2020
Ecuador's two crude export pipelines were knocked out of service by mudslides.
The 450,000 b/d OCP heavy crude pipeline ruptured following the overflow of the Coca river, causing the suspension of operations yesterday at 6:30pm ET.
The 485km (301-mile) pipeline, controlled by foreign oil companies, runs from the Amazon oil district to the Pacific coast port of Balao in Esmeraldas.
In a separate incident at 8:15pm ET yesterday, a mudslide reduced pressure on state-owned PetroEcuador's 360,000 b/d Sote crude pipeline, prompting the company to suspend operations.
The 503km Sote pipeline also runs from the Amazon district to Esmeraldas.
The pipeline outages come amid a devastating local blow from the Covid-19 pandemic, particularly in the Pacific city of Guayaquil. The country has almost 4,000 declared cases and more than 200 deaths.

Twenty homes were forced to evacuate overnight after a cliff collapsed onto the beach below.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service arrived to a "significant cliff collapse" at Eastchurch on the Isle of Sheppey just before 10pm on Friday.
Residents of Surf Crescent said they heard “groaning” before a “great big lump” of the road disappeared from sight.
According to a local resident, the authorities were first warned in 2015 that action was needed to prevent further coastal erosion.
"This should have been dealt with a long time ago," Malcolm Newell said. "It's not right to have people's home, their livelihoods, falling into the sea."

Major Landslide Destroys 8 Homes In Northern Norway
Eight houses were swept into the sea by the powerful landslide in northern Norway ANDERS BJORDAL/NVE
A powerful landslide of more than 2,000 feet in width has taken eight houses into the sea in northern Norway. The instability continued for several hours and one person was evacuated from a nearby property, but there have been no reports of injuries.
Incredibly powerful landslide caught on camera
The landslide of more than 2,000 feet wide and 500 feet high occurred on the western side of Kråkneset in Alta municipality on Wednesday afternoon. The police were notified of the incident at 3.45pm and a rescue operation was immediately launched by air and sea.
A local managed to capture some of the event on camera. The video, featured in Altaposten, shows the sheer power of the land movement. One local described how he heard a bang in the loft of his cabin and assumed someone was in the building. “I ran for my life,” he said, once the situation became clear.
Rescue operation over
Although police were unable to enter the area by land due to ongoing instability, the rescue operation was called off at 7pm with everyone accounted for. Police are now verifying the information received to confirm that no-one is left in the area.
Many of the buildings are holiday homes, which would have likely been fully occupied during the public holiday just 48 hours beforehand.
On-duty commander Sten-Rune Nikolaisen from the Main Rescue Centre reported to NRK that the Sea King helicopter returned to base just before 7pm. “They have searched visually and using camera equipment. No discoveries have been made,” said Nikolaisen.
Land remains highly unstable
According to local media reports, several smaller landslides occurred in the hours following the main incident. The Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE) is monitoring the situation, in particular the risk of more landslides.
NVE district engineer Anders Bjordal warned that there is likely to be ongoing movement for a couple of days.
