The Signs in the Sky caused by the tail of Nibiru can be confusing as they take many forms. We have for years had Second Sun sightings at Dawn and Dusk when Sunlight glints off the vast Dust Cloud of Nibiru – the angle just right to bounce the Sunlight to Earth. We have for years also had Neon Clouds, which are Petrol in the Sky burning when it encounters Oxygen in the Atmosphere. When Petrol has not yet lit, it can create a rainbow sheen on clouds or appear as a black mass if dense and large.
The temporary local Moon Eclipse occurred due to an unlit Petrol Mass was such an instance. This Eclipse was not universal but only seen locally, thus the mass was close to Earth. Red Dust will give burning Petrol a red color, but a mix of Red and Blue can produce a green color. Sky Glow occurs when Petrol burns on the upper atmosphere, producing a glow from horizon to horizon. Now that Nibiru is centering in front of the Sun, sunlight shines through the Vast Dust Cloud, illuminating the Nibiru Complex.

Residents throughout Florida turned to social media to show photos and videos of a large fireball in the sky early on Wednesday morning. From Deerfield Beach to Vero Beach, Scripps Station WPTV in West Palm Beach received calls and emails from people puzzled by the strange object. Grace Theodore said she was leaving a Walmart in Deerfield Beach around 2:19 am when she recorded a video of what she called a "double meteor". Leslie Findley was in Boynton Beach when she saw an "elongated orange stream flowing from the west coast of Florida to the east coast."

At least nine fireballs of unknown origin crossed almost simultaneously the sky of the city of São José do Ribamar, in Maranhão, BRAZIL. Apparently, this is a rare phenomenon, never before registered.
The meteor swarm was registered on June 26, 2019 by amateur astronomer Edgar Merizio, administrator of the EMM2 / MA monitoring station, associated with the BRAMON network, Brazilian Meteorological Monitoring Network. According to Marcelo Zurita, director of the organization, such meteoroids come from a same meteoroid that may have ruptured before penetrating the atmosphere, possibly a few hours or maybe days before its encounter with the atmosphere.

Meteorite the size of a football and weighing 33 lbs smashes into a paddy field after entering Earth’s atmosphere at 25,000mph
A suspected meteorite the size of a football plunged into a rice field in eastern India, startling farmers, authorities said on Thursday.
Onlookers said the light brown 'fireball' sent them fleeing from the field when it fell at their rural village on Wednesday afternoon, sending up smoke.
Shirsat Kapil Ashok, the magistrate for Madhubani district in Bihar state, said: 'The farmers were working in the paddy field when this heavy rock fell from the sky with a very loud noise.'
Villagers and farmers (pictured) gather around the crater formed when a suspected meteorite crashed into a rice paddy in Madhubani district in India's Bihar state
The villagers (left) returned after the smoke subsided and pulled the rock out from its four-feet-deep crater. 'We saw it has very strong magnetic properties, some shine and weighs around 15 kilograms,' Ashok added. The find is being analysed by scientists (right) as a possible meteorite
The villagers returned after the smoke subsided and pulled the rock out from its four-feet-deep crater.
'We saw it has very strong magnetic properties, some shine and weighs around 15 kilograms,' Ashok added.
The find is being analysed by scientists as a possible meteorite.
Meteors are particles of dust and rock that usually burn up as they pass through Earth's atmosphere, with those that survive the fall known as meteorites.
These rocks, unlike others that might be found on the ground, often have a dark, scalloped appearance and will seem denser than others in the area.
They also tend to be magnetic.
In 2016 authorities in southern India's Tamil Nadu state said a meteorite killed a bus driver and injured three others.
While Indian scientists backed the claim of the regional authorities, the US space agency NASA later said did not believe the object was a meteorite.
In February 2013 a meteorite plunged over Russia's Ural Mountains, creating a shockwave that injured around 1,200 people and damaged thousands of homes.
Smaller impacts, where the meteorite is only a few meters across are thought to be relatively common - happening about once every 25 years.
The largest crater made by a meteorite or comet was discovered in the Australian Outback four years ago.
It has a 250-mile diameter and is believed to have occurred more than 300million years ago.
Other craters include the 100-mile wide Vredefort Dome in South Africa, created over 2,000million years ago, as well as the 93-mile wide Chicxulub buried beneath Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula - arguably the world's most famous.
It was created by an asteroid 66million years ago - and is believed to have been responsible for wiping out the dinosaurs.

Mysterious “fireball in the sky” spotted over Quad Cities
DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) – Janice Blanche-Fisher was sitting outside her east Davenport home Thursday around 9:30 p.m. when she saw a bright orange “fireball in the sky” appear in the west.
“The object was too fast for a plane,” Blanche-Fisher said.
“It looked like a sideways orange ice cream cone.”
Blanche-Fisher estimates the object lingered 2 to 3 minutes, long enough for her to call her astronomy enthusiast husband, Jim Fisher, outdoors to see it.
“Jim couldn't identify it even with binoculars,” Blanche-Fisher said.
“This was something neither of us has ever seen before.”
A Federal Aviation Administration Great Lakes Region spokesperson tells KWQC area air traffic controllers reported nothing unusual Thursday evening, but he questioned whether Blanche-Fisher perhaps saw part of the Perseid meteor shower occurring from mid-July to late August.
“It was too big and slow for one of the Perseid meteors,” Blanche-Fisher said, adding that Perseid meteors in her experience appear to move much faster and remain visible for a matter of seconds instead of minutes.
Blanche-Fisher said the object traveled from the west toward the east-southeast before fading away at the horizon, at which point she contacted KWQC to share the above cell phone photo she snapped of the spectacle.
“I was just so excited, and I wanted to report it ASAP.”
While the identity of the object is unknown, some KWQC TV6 viewers speculate it was a surveillance balloon launched by the Pentagon.

BIG BANGMystery ‘explosion’ heard over New York may have been ‘fireball falling from space’, meteor experts reveal
A FIREBALL is thought to have exploded over New York earlier this week as people reported hearing a loud boom and their houses shaking.
When it first happened people had no idea what was going on but now the American Meteor Society (AMS) may have the answer.
The AMS has said that witness reports of a "boom" and a bright streak of light in the sky was likely to have been a large fireball entering the Earth's atmosphere on Monday night.
One witness told The American Meteor Society: "It was so loud, my house shook, I felt it in my chest and had me stand still for a moment in panic.
"I got ready to load my children up with our emergency bags because I thought the power plant 12 miles away from me blew up."
The society received lots of reports about the incident.
Mike Hankey, operations manager of the non-profit meteor astronomy organisation, told CNN: "What they were seeing was the light produced by the object colliding with the atmosphere."
A fireball is a bright and large meteor that soars from a vacuum in space at 1000s of miles an hour.
It can explode when it collides with the Earth’s atmosphere creating light streaks and a sonic boom sound.
Witnessing fireballs is a rare event and they can be difficult to confirm as they happen so quickly.
Nasa actually has 17 cameras devoted to capturing images of fireballs over the US but the cameras are turned off in daylight to protect them from the Sun so they were not able to capture the recent event.
Most accounts from the New York event state that the light streak and noise lasted from between 1.5 to 3.5 seconds.
So far there have been no reports of any damage caused by the fireball.

Meteor rumbles across sky in Far North Queensland - AUSTRALIA OCTOBER 2 2019

https://mobile.abc.net.au/news/2019-10-02/daytime-fireball-meteor-s...
PHOTO A "sky cam" in Mareeba captured the fireball at 1:30pm yesterday.
Hundreds of residents in Far North Queensland have described how the ground shook after what is believed to be a meteor streaked across the sky in broad daylight.
It happened about 1:40pm yesterday and was seen and heard across an area spanning hundreds of kilometres away from Cairns.
Witnesses described seeing a "very bright flash of light," a "shooting star" and hearing an "explosion" and "sonic boom".
Astronomer David Reneke said it was most likely a "daytime fireball" — a type of meteor.
"Seeing one in the daytime is a special event, that's for sure," Mr Reneke said.
"They are slow-moving meteors that burn and melt and are generally associated with a lot of noise because they explode overhead.
"To actually witness one of these, you have to be in the right place at the right time — it's a very special event for anyone who has ever seen one because you'll never, ever forget it."
Cairns northern beaches resident Chris Slapp said she thought there "was an earthquake".
"The table was vibrating and I could feel it … through the ground," Ms Slapp said.
Another witness, Stephen How Kee, wrote on social media that it "looked like a shooting star" and when it stopped, it "left a cloud of smoke".
Mossman resident Alan Carle said he and a group of tourists also witnessed the phenomenon.
"There was a very bright trail of light that went through and it just exploded," Mr Carle said.
"Of course you couldn't hear anything because it was so far away, but a couple of minutes later we were standing there talking about it and we just hear this thunder, but there's not a cloud in the sky, so there's certainly no thunder around."
Geoscience Australia said it was looking into the incident.

Dozens report seeing large fireball over Ohio skies on Saturday
If you saw a fireball streak across the sky on Saturday evening you’re not alone.10TV received several reports from people in central Ohio who saw a bright meteor with a long trail across the sky.
The American Meteor Society says it received more than 130 reports about the fireball, seen over Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
It was likely a product of the South Taurid meteor shower.
The shower is caused by leftover debris from Comet Encke. It’s not very active, you’re lucky to see five to seven meteors an hour at its peak, but it is known to produce fireballs.
Those are very bright meteors and they’ve been known to leave long streaks across the sky with this shower.
The shower itself peaks later this week - Wednesday night into Thursday morning - but has a large window of activity. It’s typically active from September 10th to November 20th.
This year’s peak coincides with a waxing gibbous moon which will wash out all but the brightest meteors. However, because it’s active for so long we’ll still have a shot at seeing fireballs through the month and into next month.

WATCH: People left awestruck after 'massive fireball' lights up Irish skies
IRISH STARGAZERS were treated to an incredible sight on Friday night as a massive fireball lit up the skies across the country.
Reports from areas up and down the country told of a 'fireball' shooting across the sky between 7.30pm and 9pm on Friday, October 4th.
Primarily spotted in Limerick, Kildare, and Galway, it was also seen elsewhere in Ireland as well as Wales and Scotland in the UK, and some quick thinkers were able to grab videos of the space object flying overhead with a fiery orange tail trailing behind it.
The below video captured the 'massive' fireball as it travelled over the Claddagh area of Galway city.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9OP7CtU80z0
Early reports suggested that the fireball was a meteor flying close to the Earth, but The Limerick Astronomy Club revealed that the impressive sight was the result of a Chinese navigation satellite which was launched into orbit in 2016 along with some debris.
The fireball is actually some of that debris re-entering the atmosphere.
In 2011, another massive fireball which was seen across Ireland launched a hunt for fragments of a meteor, which was suspected to have landed somewhere in the North-West of the country-- but nothing was ever found.
In 1999 however, fragments of another fallen meteor were found in a countryside lane in County Carlow and sold for a price 50 times greater than gold.

Skygazers should keep an eye out for the Southern Taurids Wednesday night through Thursday morning.
At its peak, the shower usually produces 10 meteors per hour. Don't let that discourage you -- the Southern Taurids are known for launching bright fireballs that can cast shadows on the ground.
The Draconids, which peaked Tuesday night through early Wednesday morning, is a minor shower, normally consists of just 10 meteors per hour. Yet it is known to produce random outbursts of hundreds of meteors per hour.
Most of the continental United States should expect clear skies Wednesday, with the exception of the coastal Northeast and northern Plains.
If you missed these two showers, no worries! The Orionid meteor shower peaks later this month on the night of October 21 into October 22 and usually brings around 20 meteors per hour.

Fireball in Missouri seen hundreds of miles away in NWA
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA) — A fireball streaking across the night sky near Kansas City, Missouri spotted hundreds of miles away in Northwest Arkansas.
Residents of Northwest Arkansas self-reported seeing a fireball in the northern evening sky Thursday evening.
According to AMSMETEORS.org, 20 reports about a fireball seen over Arkansas, Illinois, Missouri, and Oklahoma on Thursday, October 17th, 2019 around 8:21 p.m. CT.
Steve Arnold of Eureka Springs is a professional meteorite hunter who hosted ‘Meteorite Men‘ a TV series for 3 seasons on Science and Discovery channel. Arnold has been fireball chasing for 27 years. He travels, often on very short notice, to chase fireballs all over the country.
“Right now it looks like the meteor may have landed in the Kansas City area if anything survived,” Arnold said. “It is not uncommon for the larger ones, for them to be seen 300, 400 miles away.”
Arnold said he was not sure about the size of the meteor.
“Meteors come in from any direction,” Arnold said. “They come from the asteroid belt, they can be a piece of the moon or Mars that has been blasted off. They can be comets, they can also be space junk.”
The meteor that entered the Earth’s atmosphere Thursday was the 5,019 fireball that has been cataloged by the American Meteor Society from people self-reporting on its website this year.
“The oxygen burning in the atmosphere around the rock. Or if it breaks up into multiple rocks. It is really hard to tell [the size] – once we get a little more data on how big it was – there are some calculations that can be done by the amount of kiloton of energy that was displaced when it came in,” Arnold said. “Right now is’s the initial stage. People saw it.”
This is the 4th fireball reported being seen in the Northwest Arkansas area in the last year according to Arnold.
Arnold said he is going to keep an eye on the local Kansas City area to see if anything survived from the fireball.

'Fireball' seen in Timmins sky creates buzz
TIMMINS – People across northeastern Ontario are still talking about seeing a fireball falling through the sky during the evening hours on October 29.
It happened around 6:30 p.m. and social media lit like the fireball people reported seeing streaking across the horizon.
Rachel Hamelin says she saw the spectacle on her way home from work, and says she was awestruck.
"We've always watched the meteor showers in August at the cottage, so you can see all of the white streaks just all over the sky… but this was completely different because it was red and bright. It was a massive fireball. To see something like that, you see videos of it, but to actually see it with your own eyes… videos don't do it justice," says Hamlin.
Some speculated that it was a piece of a satellite, or even aliens, but an astronomy professor says it’s a common phenomenon, albeit rare to see in person.
He says the object was likely a meteor at the tail-end of a meteor shower.
"Definitely the characteristics of a very large, perhaps baseball-sized rock… flying through the earth's atmosphere and disintegrating through atmospheric friction. It's really a beautiful site," said Paul Delaney, York University.
Delaney says most meteors are destroyed by friction in the atmosphere, and those that survive can look like a rock from your garden.
He says they can give scientists much need information about our universe.
"These meteorites are a piece of our past… they're time capsule from the formation of our solar system. Being able to find them and give them to museums and other research organizations is really a valuable undertaking," he explained.
Delaney says those who saw the ball of light were pretty lucky, saying he's only seen the phenomenon maybe three times in his 40 year career.
He says if you do see one, reporting it to a meteor association can help scientists find out where it might have landed.

Fireballs Observed by Midwest Folks
Three different meteor showers are currently active, and according to reports from local residents, recent sightings have occurred in nearby Bentonville, Arkansas, and Branson, Missouri.
Two separate reports from Branson note fireball sightings occurred on Saturday, Oct. 26, around 10 p.m. and 10:10 p.m., respectively. The meteor was described as “a bright flash of whiteness, with a short light blue streak – a very large falling star.”
At present, three unique sets of meteor showers are active, namely the Southern Taurids, the Orionids, and Northern Taurids, are in viewing display.
The Leonids, which are actually known for producing meteor storms become active Nov. 6th, and will offer viewing opportunities through Nov. 30th.
Unfortunately, the peak display period for the Orionids has passed, as Oct. 21-22 was given this year as the best time for viewing their activity. According to the American Meter Society, the Orionids are a medium strength shower.
The Northern Taurids are cited as active until December 10; they are projected to peak during the night time hours of Nov. 11-12.
The Southern Taurids are currently active through Nov. 20, and according to the American Meteor Society, in past years, when the Northern Taurids and Southern Taurids are active simultaneously, an increase in fireball activity can be recorded, especially during early November.
Meteors are caused by debris entering the Earth’s atmosphere at a high rate of speed, and showers are best viewed after midnight. And, the darker the night sky, the easier it is to observe fireballs moving across the night sky. If moonlight is prevalent, fireballs are more difficult to see.

Seeing fireballs in the sky? Taurid Meteor Shower expected to peak in November
LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — See any fireballs streaking across the night sky lately? Don’t be alarmed. It’s probably just the Taurid Meteor Shower, which is expected to peak around Nov. 5 to Nov. 12.
This comes about a month after the Draconids and South Taurid showers were expected to peak.
Caused by debris from comets racing by and the combined volume of the North and South Taurids, the Taurid Meteor Shower is known to produce some amazing fireballs (aka just really bright meteors), according to EarthSky, the favorite site for sky watchers everywhere.
To catch some fireballs, you should be looking to the sky starting Saturday night, Nov. 2. The best chance to catch a meteor will be after midnight on Nov. 5 through Nov. 12 with Nov. 6 being one of the predicted peak nights
The American Meteor Society explains that Taurid fireballs are notable for how slowly they travel compared to other showers. Also, they can be colorful often featuring orange.
Those hoping to catch some fireballs will have to go looking for a viewing spot away from any lights that could obscure the night sky.
Also, don’t worry about finding the right spot in the heavens to see the shower. These fireballs will be streaking all over.

Ghoulish green fireball spotted flying over Ireland (VIDEO)
Ghoulish green fireball spotted flying over Ireland (VIDEO) Residents across Ireland and beyond were mystified Monday night as a curious green fireball lit up the night sky.
Astounded amateur astronomers across the Irish counties of Clare, Cork, Fermanagh, and Mayo caught a glimpse of the enigmatic event over the Emerald Isle at roughly 7pm local time.
Sean Linehan managed to film the curious cosmic caper on his car’s dashcam in Cork, in the south of Ireland, which showed a glowing green orb streaking across the sky.
Another fireball was spotted at about 10.50pm on Monday night according to Astronomy Ireland, who assured the public that they don’t make fireworks that big just yet. “Sounds like a meteor or a fireball,” the group said.
Shooting stars are typically the size of a grain of sand and burn for roughly one second, while pea-sized fireballs can last several seconds and burn brighter than the light of a full moon.
“I was delighted that I caught a glimpse of it – I might keep the camera on the sky in future!” said 35-year-old Paddy Maher, from Laois.

'Unicorn meteor storm' to be triggered by mysterious comet Thursday night
By Brian Lada, AccuWeather meteorologist and staff writer Updated nov. 19, 2019 11:41 AM
This is not your typical meteor shower. On Thursday night, stargazers may get to see several meteors per second during a rare event known as a meteor storm.
There is a chance that the upcoming alpha Monocerotid meteor shower could turn into an all-out meteor storm on the night of Nov. 21, according to Esko Lyytinen and Peter Jenniskens, two meteor scientists who have been studying the meteor shower.
It is not a guarantee that such an event will unfold, but Lyytinen and Jenniskens say that there is a “good chance” that this will bring the first alpha Monocerotids meteor storm since 1995, when it produced rates of around 400 meteors per hour.
What time to look for the flurry of meteors
Knowing when to look for the potential meteor storm is extremely important.
“Unlike most meteor outbursts which last for several hours, strong activity from the alpha Monocertids is over within an hour and easily missed,” the American Meteor Society (AMS) explained on its website.
The outburst is forecast to reach its climax around 11:50 p.m. EST on Nov. 21, according to the AMS.
Onlookers should start looking for shooting stars around 11 p.m. EST and continue looking through midnight for the best chance to see the potential meteor storm. If you are not outside during this window, you may miss the celestial light show entirely.
“These meteors are never spaced evenly but appear in bunches so 2-3 meteors may be seen seconds apart and then an entire minute could go by without any activity,” the AMS said.
What exactly is a ‘meteor storm’
We have all heard of meteor showers, sparked when the Earth passes through a field of debris left behind by an asteroid or comet.
Outburst of unknown origins
The alpha Monocertids is a mysterious meteor shower as scientists are unsure about when it started, or what exactly is causing it.
“This outburst is caused by the dust released by a long-period comet, but the comet itself is still unknown.“
Despite these uncertainties, one thing is known for sure: the meteors radiate from Monoceros, a faint constellation that is Greek for unicorn and located just to the left of the well-known constellation Orion.
Contrary to popular belief, shooting stars will be visible in much of the night sky, not just the area near the unicorn constellation, as long as clouds do not obscure the sky.

What Do They Know? US And Russia Both Developing Plans To Deal With Incoming Asteroids 12-27-2019
When the Russians take decisive action, it is usually for a reason. As you will see below, the Russians have suddenly decided that now is the time to create an organization that will be tasked with detecting, tracking and potentially destroying incoming asteroids. Are they doing this now because they have finally decided that this is a good idea, or has something gotten their attention? Of course they are not likely to publicly admit if they have come to the conclusion that a gigantic space rock is heading directly toward us. Just like the U.S. government, the Russian government is very interested in maintaining social order, and so they would probably delay telling the public about a potential asteroid impact for as long as possible.

“Fireball” lights up Saskatchewan sky Saturday night
Tim Yaworski, member of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada (RASC) who saw the flash, told paNOW that it was a “fireball.”
“It was a very bright meteor known as a fireball,” he said.
“In the case of the [meteor] this weekend, it was just large enough that it took quite a long time to burn up and created a much brighter display than normal.”
James Edgar is a past president of the RASC.
Now living in Melville, Edgar wasn’t able to actually see the bright light in the sky Saturday. However, he has some of his own suspicions on what it could have been.
“Could be as simple as a small asteroid, or a meteor. Or, it could be a spent rocket body from a launch. Could have been years ago, it’s been orbiting the Earth,” he told 650 CKOM.
Edgar said when these events happen, report your sightings to the American Meteor Society.
During this event, there were 12 reports on the website. Based on the findings, the possible meteor was seen in Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Alberta and North Dakota.

Meteor streaks over Puerto Rico, unsettling some amid quakes

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico — A meteor streaked low across the sky in Puerto Rico on Friday, setting social media abuzz as the spectacle amazed some people and unsettled others on an island still being hit daily by small earthquakes.
The bright burning ball was caught by security cameras and people randomly taking pictures and video of other things.
Rafael Rivera, a pharmacist, said he saw and heard the fireball as he passed over a toll bridge in northern Puerto Rico, briefly worrying it was a malfunctioning plane.
“It was a loud noise,” he said. “I see this ball of fire, very fast and very big, and I said, ‘Wow, that can’t be a plane because it’s going too fast.'”
The meteor was visible across Puerto Rico in broad daylight, said Eddie Irizarry, a Puerto Rico astronomy professor and vice president of the Caribbean Astronomy Society. He said he got reports from all corners of the island.
Meanwhile, officials at Puerto Rico’s main international airport said they captured the event on camera but flight operations were not interrupted.
The event scared many in the U.S. territory that is experiencing strong daily aftershocks following a 6.4 magnitude quake Jan. 7 CONTINUE...

Puerto Ricans baffled by strange lights appearing overhead in dawn skies (VIDEO, PHOTOS) 21 Jan, 2020
Residents of Puerto Rico were stunned to witness a bizarre phenomenon in the skies just off the island, as an unusual array of lights inexplicably appeared in the distance for some time before completely disappearing.
At approximately 6:30am local time Tuesday, eyewitnesses began seeing strange light formations in the sky, many of whom took out their camera phones to document what they were seeing.
While some were quick to call it “the end of days,” thankfully the Caribbean Astronomical Society (SAC) was on hand to allay the public’s fears of doomsday, an alien invasion or indeed some Elon Musk-related celestial light displays.
Eddie Irizarry, Vice President of SAC, explained that the phenomenon was merely the fuselage of a CZ-3B Chinese rocket re-entering the atmosphere after some three years, having delivered a TJS-2 satellite into orbit.

Fireball meteor reported over Cyprus
January 22, 2020 at 7:58am
The Cyprus Astronomy Organisation took to social media last night to report that a bright fireball meteor had been observed after 10 pm in the sky over Cyprus.
It also urged the public to report their own sightings and to complete if possible an attached report.
Sightings were reported from across the island
Fireballs are meteors that appear brighter than normal, the International Meteor Organisation explains on its website.
A great majority of the material orbiting in outer space are tiny sub-millimeter sized bits of stone, ice, or metal, or a combination of these materials. These are known as micrometeoroids or simply space dust. These tiny fragments cannot produce enough light to be seen when encountering the atmosphere and yet they contribute many tons of material to the Earth’s weight each year. As the size of these objects approach a millimeter, they begin to produce enough light to be seen upon entry to the upper atmosphere as ordinary meteors.
Due to the velocity at which they strike the Earth’s atmosphere, fragments larger than 1 millimeter have the capability to produce a bright flash as they streak through the heavens above. These bright meteors are what we call fireballs and they often strike fear and awe for those who witness them.
Fireballs actually occur every day all over the Earth. To the individual though, they are a rare spectacle that is witnessed very few times per lifetime. It must be remembered that fireballs also occur during the day or on a cloudy night. They also occur over the ocean or over uninhabited portions of land. Even if a fireball occurs over your location, you need to be outside facing the right direction or you will still miss it. Therefore the International Meteor Organisation takes keen interest in these sightings in the hope that its origin can be determined and that perhaps meteorites can be recovered, it added.
Only true fireballs have the ability to survive all the way down to the Earth’s surface. The easiest method to determine whether a meteor was a fireball or not, is to estimate its brightness. If the object you witnessed is brighter than any object in the sky except for the sun and the moon, then it is a fireball. Another important factor is the duration of a fireball. While larger than most all other meteors entering the atmosphere, they still are traveling at tremendous velocities. Like ordinary meteors, they will suffer disintegration and will slow down to the point where they no longer produce light. This usually takes only a few seconds. Rarely a very large fireball will last 5-10 seconds before it is extinguished. If your object lasts in excess of 10 seconds it is most likely a satellite or some sort of aircraft and not a fireball.
The brightness is difficult to estimate but most fireballs are usually in the range of magnitude -5 to -10. Magnitude -5 is equivalent to the planet Venus at its brightest. At this magnitude a fireball can cast a very faint shadow under the darkest conditions. As fireballs increase in brightest (from -5 to -10) the shadows become pronounced and easier to see. At magnitude -9, the light from a fireball is equivalent to the light produced by a half-illuminated moon. At magnitude -13, the light from a fireball is equivalent to the light produced by a full moon. Fireballs brighter than the full moon are exceedingly rare.

Watch dramatic moment fireball crashes to earth
UPDATED: 10:31 22 January 2020
A couple were left stunned as they watched a fireball crashing to earth in East Anglia
It was spotted across Norfolk and Suffolk on Sunday, January 19 with sightings in Haddiscoe, Norwich, Blakeney, East Rudham and Wells.
Matthew and Claire Ling were travelling near Ipswich when they spotted it at 5.12pm.
Mr Ling, from Woodbridge, said: "It was totally coincidental. We saw this intense white light to the right of us.
"The trajectory was unlike a plane or a drone. It was coming over Tattingtone, towards the river. It was quite impressive and fascinating to watch. When we got home my wife said it must have been a meteor or a fireball."
It was reported to the UK Meteor Network Twitter site, and Dan Self, chairman of Breckland Astronomical Society, said: "Fireballs can hit the atmosphere at up to 70km a second. This fireball could probably have been seen all over England."

‘Looked like a roman candle:’ people witness fireball in Sask. sky
January 20, 2020 10:03 am
The Land of the Living Skies lived up to its name early Monday.
A number of people said they witnessed a bright light with a tail shoot across the sky around 7:10 a.m.
“All of a sudden you see this big blueish-green streak come across due north. It was coming through the fog and clouds. It was really quite bright,” said Chad Parenteau, who captured the mystery light on his dash cam near Wakaw.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W71Ip9G2zXc&feature=emb_logo
Shea Olson, who was driving northeast of Saskatoon near Aberdeen, also witnessed the phenomenon, which many believe was a meteor.
“Almost looked like a roman candle, but was a lot higher. A big green ball just came shooting across the sky,” he said, adding it lasted only a few seconds before it was gone.
Daryl Janzen, a departmental assistant in the physics department at the University of Saskatchewan, confirmed the sighting as a meteor.
“Looks like it’s a fireball, which is a bright meteor,” he said after viewing footage of the bright flash.
“It’s probably an asteroid hitting our atmosphere. This is probably just a larger one that burns brighter.”
Janzen could only speculate where the object landed, or if it landed anywhere at all.
The fireball could be a comet that completely burned up in the atmosphere. An asteroid has a better chance of remaining intact, according to Janzen.
“Even bright fireballs don’t all make it to the ground,” Janzen said.
Sightings were also reported as far away as Kyle and North Battleford.

Unidentified Fiery Object!
23 January 2020
On 18 January 2020 at 16:44 UTC (17:44 local time), two fireball cameras in ESA’s FRIPON camera network spotted a stream of light in the skies above northwestern Germany. The trajectory of the ball of fire suggests a small meteorite could have landed in the vicinity of Oldenburg
The fireball streams across top-left of the image, taken by a FRIPON camera at the University of Oldenburg
Fireballs are caused as small asteroids strike Earth’s atmosphere, entirely or almost entirely burning up due to friction,The object that impacted Earth on this occasion is estimated to have been just 10-40 cm in diameter, before it entered the atmosphere. The observed fireball flew in a south to north direction, west of the German city of Cloppenburg and heading towards the nearby city of Friesoythe.
It is possible that one, or even several small pieces survived the journey through our protective atmosphere and reached the ground as meteorites. Such meteorites however will be just a few grams in mass and difficult to find. and appearing in the sky brighter than the planet Venus.

Meteor Explodes Depicting A Bright Burning Fireball Over Derby Sky
Meteor Explodes Depicting A Bright Burning Fireball
A clueless occupant of Derby has coincidentally caught a fantastic film of a fireball detonating in the sky. Gary Rogers, 52, was stunned to get a book from his savvy doorbell cautioning him to suspicious movement outside his home. Be that as it may, he wasn’t being burgled or visited by some dodgy character of the night. His doorbell had seen a meteor searing over the sky before detonating in a tremendous, brilliant fireball.
Mr. Rogers stated: ‘I was sleeping and was going to rest when my telephone pinged. I could barely handle it. ‘I thought it was a firecracker from the start. However, I tuned in to the sound, and you couldn’t hear any commotion.
‘I’ve seen falling stars previously; however, never a meteor. I thought it’s unquestionably not a firecracker, and it was unreasonably splendid for that. ‘The entire skyline was lit up, and there was no stable. ‘I saw the path first; then it detonated into the sky. I realized later it was a meteor. ‘There was an immense half-circle streak. It was delightful to see. ‘I demonstrated it to my child Euan, and he was truly energized.
‘I was anticipating that it should be a fox or hedgehog-like normal. My companions have been stating it resembles something out of War of the Worlds.’ It is unordinary for a fireball to be gotten on camera. Loot Dawes, the administrator of Sherwood Observatory, stated: ‘Mr. Rogers was fortunate to get such a decent brilliant one.
‘However, you’d be astonished what number of these do come into the climate whenever of year.’ Meteors hit Earth regularly and, for the most part, detonate innocuously in the sky. In any case, now and again, they endure their excursion into the air and tumble to Earth as shooting stars – conceivably causing enormous harm.

A man was left stunned as he caught the moment a fireball flew over the north Norfolk coast
A 29-year-old man from Sustead, who did not want to be named, filmed the chunk of space rock over Norfolk between Alby and Hanworth.
The footage was taken at 10.30pm on Monday, February 3 when the man, who preferred to remain anonymous, was driving home after meeting his friends.
The man said: "I haven't seen anything like this before. I have seen the odd shooting star but this illuminated the whole sky.
"I did think it could be a firework to begin with but quickly discounted that as it was just too large and bright."
Mark Thompson, astronomer and TV presenter, said: "It is quite tricky to ascertain exactly what the object is in footage like this. My initial assessment is that this is an object classed as a fireball.
"These are related very closely to meteors and meteorites and all are rocks travelling through space that happen to collide with Earth.
"As they fall through the Earth's atmosphere, the presence of the gas causes the plummeting rock to give off the characteristic glow that we perceive as shooting stars although they are not related to stars.
"A meteor is a space rock that gets destroyed high up in the atmosphere: a meteorite is the same but survives the fiery plunge to land on Earth, and a fireball is just a bigger and brighter version.
"I see footage like this maybe a couple of times a year but there are many more that do not get caught on camera.
"You have to be looking in the right direction at the right time."

SPACE INVADER - Brilliant CCTV footage captured fireball meteor as it shot across the Bradford sky
This is the moment a meteor exploded spectacularly in Bradford's night sky and was captured on a doorbell security camera.
Carl Seed, 49, expected to spot a curious cat when his security camera alerted him to “suspicious movement” - but it was a meteor lighting up the sky.
The stunning footage shows rooftops in the Apperley Bridge area illuminated by the passing fireball meteor as it shot across the sky at 11.30pm last Monday.
The electrician was about to jet off to work early Tuesday morning when he checked the footage and was shocked to see an exploding meteor speeding across the sky.
Carl, from Bradford, said he was amazed by how close the meteor appeared to be - although it is likely it exploded 60km up in space.

The dad-of-two said: “I was quite surprised because I didn’t hear anything the night before, but I wanted to know what it was.
“I didn’t plan it as I had no idea there even was a meteor the night it happened - but my CCTV camera will notify me when there’s any suspicious movement.
“Nothing generally happens, it’s mostly just cats - but you never expect something like a meteorite.
“It was unexpected and I spent all day at work just trying to figure out what it was.
“It was this massive bright flash and it just lit everything up - it’s not the sort of thing you see every day.
“It looked like it exploded so close to ground, but I heard it was actually thousands of miles in the air - just crazy.
“I’m chuffed I got the video because it’s quite cool and unusual.”
There was a flurry of meteor sightings submitted from all over the UK and Europe at the same time.
