Recent active ground motion in the Russian Far East seemingly reflects the N American plate bowing in process

To obtain evidence of bowing of the N American plate in progress, I checked the REV ground motion of stations in the Russian Far East from 2014/01/01 or 2013/08/13 to 2014/10/11.

There are six stations available of the ground motion in REV there; BILL, MA2, PET, TIXI, YAK and YSS.

BILL is on the N American plate, MA2, PET and YSS are on the Okhotsk plate, a tongue of the great N American Plate, and TIXI and YAK are on the Eurasian plate.

(1) IU.BILL; Bilibino, Russia; 68.07 N, 166.45 E

(2) IU.MA2; Magadan, Russia; 59.58 N, 150.77 E

(3) IU.PET; Petropavlovsk, Russia; 53.02 N, 158.65 E

(4) IU.YSS; Yuzhno Sakhalinsk, Russia; 46.96 N, 142.76 E

(6) IU.YAK; Yakutsk, Russia; 62.03 N, 129.68 E

(1) IU.BILL; Bilibino, Russia; 68.07 N, 166.45 E

[Checked Period: 2014/01/01-10/11]

1) From January, 2014 to October 11, the base line of the ground motion at BILL always undulated. (Fig. 1)

2) Through a period, big undulation appeared frequently. The day when big undulation appeared as follows. (Fig. 2)

- April: 14, 24, 26.

- May: 05, 13, 14, 18, 19, 23, 24, 25.

- June: 03, 04, 05, 08, 09, 16, 26.

- July: 07, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 20, 31.

- August: 02, 05.

- September: 23, 30.

- October: 05.

3) Big jiggle appeared on February 02, May 28 and July 18. (Fig. 3)

4) Shuddering appeared recently on September 30 and October 11. (Fig. 4)

(2) IU.MA2; Magadan, Russia; 59.58 N, 150.77 E

[Checked Period: 2014/01/01-10/11]

1) From January to October 11, 2014, the form of the ground motion at MA2 hardly changed basically, though it sometimes appeared that a line of the ground motion shakes like a wave up and down. (Fig. 5)

2) Big jiggle appeared on March 13 and August 11. (Fig. 6)

3) Jiggle appeared three times on September 29. (Fig, 7)

4) Big jolt appeared on October 1. (Fig. 8)

(3) IU.PET; Petropavlovsk, Russia; 53.02 N, 158.65 E

[Checked Period: 2014/01/01-10/11]

1) From January to October 11, 2014, the form of the ground motion at PET hardly changed basically. (Fig. 9)

2) Jiggle appeared on August 5, 12, 14, 20 and 27th. (Fig. 10)

3) A certain characteristic motion, a large wave like a very complex serration continuing rhythmically for a few hours, was recorded on August 13, and another characteristic motion, a band of jolts consecutive for approximately 30 minutes was recorded on August 14. (Fig. 11)

(4) IU.YSS; Yuzhno Sakhalinsk, Russia; 46.96 N, 142.76 E

[Checked Period: 2014/01/01-10/11]

1) From January to October 11, 2014, the form of the ground motion at PET hardly changed basically. (Fig. 12)

2) Jiggle appeared on June 5, a group of jiggles from 01:00 to 04:00 on 06/05, and a jiggle at 23:00. (Fig. 13)

3) Jiggle appeared on August 5 and 6th, a group of jiggles from 22:00 on 08/05 to 03:00 on 08/06.  (Fig. 14)

(5) IU.TIXI; Tiksi, Russia; 71.63 N, 128.87 E

[Checked Period: 2014/01/01-10/11]

1) The general form of ground motion was the same, but, undulation sometimes appeared through the period. Undulation appeared frequently after the middle of May in particular. (Fig. 15)

2) Big jiggle appeared seven times during the period, on January 26, February 21, March 27, April 29, June 1 and 25, and August 9. (Fig. 16)

3) Jiggle appeared before 09:00 on September 18. Jiggle appeared three times between 12:00 and 14:00 on September 19. Jiggle appeared past 00:00 on October 3, followed with continuous tremble motion for 16 hours. Jiggle appeared on October 4. (Fig. 17)

(6) IU.YAK; Yakutsk, Russia; 62.03 N, 129.68 E

[Checked Period: 2013/08/13-2014/10/11]

1) The line of the ground motion always shook like a wave up and down until September 24, 2014 since August, 2013, but after the big ground adjustment on September 24 and 25th, 2014, the shaking pattern disappeared. (Fig. 18)

2) Jiggle appeared on June 5. (Fig. 19)

3) Bigger undulation appeared from 10:00 to 16:00 on August 20. (Fig. 20)

4) Big ground adjustment occurred on September 24, and Jiggle, a group of jiggles, appeared from 05:00 to 07:00 on September 25. (Fig.21)

In conclusion, I can say that the ground motion in this area becomes active after July, 2014 in particular, and recent active ground motion in the Russian Far East seemingly reflects the N American plate bowing in process.

ZetaTalk: N American Rip [written Feb 10, 2006]

…

The giant plates of N America and Eurasia are locked against each other, unable to rotate against each other due to their shape. Slip-slide along the West Coast, measured as a creep by geologists, is due only to slight adjustments along that edge of the plate, primarily due to adjustments within the small plates to the west of the N American plate, which move to accommodate pressure. The N American plate does not move, pre se, but other dramas occur. We explained, months before it expressed enough to show up on IRIS charts, the Earth torque caused as the N Pole continuing to rotate to the East while the S Pole was held back by Planet X, tending to open the globe like a jar of pickles. This creates a diagonal stress on the N American continent where New England is pulled to the east while Mexico is pulled to the West, so the New Madrid is put under slip-slide stress where one half, east of the Mississippi, will move toward the NE while the other, west of the Mississippi, moves toward the SW. The virtual hook of land in the N American continent near the Kamchatka peninsula is solid rock and will not snap off to become a separate land plate, nor would this ease the deadlock along the N American and Eurasian plates even it if did. These massive plates cannot move.
The stress on the N American plate will resolve by ripping. Ripping the St. Lawrence Seaway open. Pulling the SE down into the crumbling Caribbean and into the widening Atlantic, as neither of these sinking fronts will be able to support the edge of the weighty N American plate. There is pressure along the West Coast, of course, and as the N American plate confronts the compressing Pacific, this will only result in the predictable volcanic increases and West Coast earthquakes. But the primary drama preceding the pole shift will be the ripping action that a plate unable to move must endure. The notable area of catastrophe during this is the eastern half of the continental US. From Houston to Chicago to New England, the diagonal pull will tear the underpinning of cities and create a catastrophe for the US that will make the New Orleans disaster appear trivial. A widening Seaway also does not affect just those land masses bordering the Seaway, as buckling occurs inland and afar. What does man assume caused the Black Hills to be so rumpled, with the appearance of a recent bucking and heaving? This is the center of a land plate! The tearing of the Seaway does not end at Duluth, MN, it travels underground to S Dakota!
