Canadian Pacific Railway says at least 33 cars went off the tracks in a train derailment Thursday night in southwestern Saskatchewan.

The derailment happened near the community of Waldeck, east of Swift Current, just after 7:30 p.m.

CP spokesperson Salem Woodrow said there were no injuries or leaks, and no dangerous goods were on board.

While there was speculation that a plow wind was to blame, the cause of the derailment remains under investigation.
