On Thursday July 14th, 2011 at 2:35am local time, an earthquake occurred North West of Trinidad (North of the Paria Peninsula). The event was located at 11.19°N and 61.92°W with a depth of 64km. The magnitude was 4.1. There were felt reports from Port of Spain, Tunapuna and Cascade Trinidad. No damage or injuries were reported. Please note that these results are preliminary and may vary slightly when additional data is processed.

Maracaibo .- A failure in the domestic gas service affects many communities in Maracaibo and San Francisco from Saturday afternoon until past noon on Sunday.

President of the Autonomous Service for the Supply of Gas in Maracaibo (Sagas), Nora Barboza reported that the decline is due to the explosion of a section of pipeline Trans "Antonio Ricaurte."

He said through a statement issued by Corpoelec, we reported that about 4:50 am on Saturday July 16 the incident that caused the interruption of gas supply from Colombia and affection generation unitspower plants in Zulia state.

The gas outage damaged the functioning of the units 13 and 14 of the plant with 108 MW Ramón Laguna Termozulia II and the General Rafael Urdaneta Thermoelectric Complex with 220 MW.

Given this situation, immediately activated a contingency plan with the company PDVSA Gas, which runs jobs to cover progressively the supply of gas required by generating units that are affected to restore the flow of fuel from the Venezuelan Colombian pipeline.

Barboza said that the service could be restored in the evening today, after the conclusion of the work and hope to increase the pressure.

This Thursday morning, a piece fell from a balcony of the Clock Tower Building, in the emblematic passage known as Portal de los Dulces, in the Historic Center of Cartagena de Indias.
Fortunately no injuries, but much amazement among residents and passers-by the Center for this unique event in the Plaza de Los Coches. The balcony was part of the second floor of the edificiación.
