Maracaibo .- A failure in the domestic gas service affects many communities in Maracaibo and San Francisco from Saturday afternoon until past noon on Sunday.

President of the Autonomous Service for the Supply of Gas in Maracaibo (Sagas), Nora Barboza reported that the decline is due to the explosion of a section of pipeline Trans "Antonio Ricaurte."

He said through a statement issued by Corpoelec, we reported that about 4:50 am on Saturday July 16 the incident that caused the interruption of gas supply from Colombia and affection generation unitspower plants in Zulia state.

The gas outage damaged the functioning of the units 13 and 14 of the plant with 108 MW Ramón Laguna Termozulia II and the General Rafael Urdaneta Thermoelectric Complex with 220 MW.

Given this situation, immediately activated a contingency plan with the company PDVSA Gas, which runs jobs to cover progressively the supply of gas required by generating units that are affected to restore the flow of fuel from the Venezuelan Colombian pipeline.

Barboza said that the service could be restored in the evening today, after the conclusion of the work and hope to increase the pressure.

The area north of the capital of Zulia is one that has reported the complete interruption of gas service. Still, in areas of San Francisco and elsewhere has reduced the pressure. Through social networks, Maracaibo users complain of the failure and one of the claims they do is not to use electric stoves because they increase the consumption of light.

The fact triggered reactions, especially the regular visitors to the Centre who fear similar situation because there are many buildings in disrepair and that threaten to collapse.
House Pastrana, Calle Las Damas, the balconies of the building Ismael Porto, in the corner of the Coliseum to the Future and several private buildings of the Street lamps, are some of the buildings of the Centre in bad shape.
"The problem is not just the balconies of these buildings and their high degree of deterioration is also inside the buildings and this ends affecting those of us down, "complains Manolo Hernandez, owner of Warehouse Fuller, located under one of the affected buildings in Calle del Candilejo.
Hernandez that" last year all of us under these apartments we were severely affected for the winter, as water pierced to reach our premises. "
" We had to perform work on roofs to reduce the damages that could easily trigger up to fire, because the leaks could intervene in the electrical systems of homes, "adds Hernández.
However, the problem is not new, as in 2007 Hernandez filed a complaint with the Personality, as the owner of the property abandoned does not appear.
Those affected say the deterioration of these properties represents a high risk for everyone.

A restored 230 buildings
Meanwhile, Irina Junieles, director of the Heritage and Culture of Cartagena (IPCC) reports that when buildings are closed, they matter for the owners restored.
"There are 230 property in disrepair in Historical Center, this figure was dropped after making a inventiraio house to house for 6 months, this ended in March. "
" During April we send notice of warning to each of the owners who must repair their homes, not to do could be fined up to 80 minimum wages. "
Likewise, the IPCC offered the support of architects of the Heritage Division of the IPCC, for free advice on repairs.
" The next step is the processing of the punitive process against those who do notagree to abide by, this year we reached 20 minutes of commitment to owners, this procedure continues with an edict that will be published in coming days, "said Junieles.
There are people who do not have the funds to repair homes, especially in Gethsemane for these people looking for grants with the Ministry of Housing, we are in analysis and discussion.

The incident
Around 9 am on Thursday collapsed part of the balcony on the second floor of Building Clock Tower.
Even though the sound produced by the structure to fall was strong and the shock for many was great, a few minutes every thought that had passed.
However, at 3 pm again collapse another part of the balcony, and who were around ensuring that the shock was great.
