"The causes of landslides are not a mystery to mankind. Layers of rock and soil such that rain running along a clay or rock layer can create a slippery surface for the weight of the layers above it is a common cause. A rock jumble from previous mountain building, broken or fractured rock easily dislodged. We have stated that the earthquakes man experiences between the periodic passages of Planet X can be considered aftershocks from the last passage, and this is true of landslides also. Mountain building rumples the landscape, so the land is not flat but has steep ravines and hill sides. Older mountain ranges are recognized for their rounded or smoothed appearance, because of frequent landslides distributing the rubble.

"As we approach another passage, another Pole Shift, the pace of landslides has picked up. Why would this be? Plates under pressure will put pressure on regions that contain rumpled hillsides and deep ravines, as these give more readily than strictly flat land, thus act as a weak link. In addition, due to the wobble, the weather has gotten more extreme, with drought and deluge increasing in extremes. Dry ground, suddenly flooded with rainwater needing to seek its level as runoff, will create internal water slides between the rock and soil layers that constitute the rumpled hillsides. Is there an early warning system that mankind could use? The trembles that soil about to slide emits could be detected, yes. These are not earthquakes, and have their own frequency. "

Philippines: Preventive evacuation done in remote village in Iloilo.

Aug 7, 2018

ILOILO CITY — Six families in the upland and far-flung village of Igcatambor, Miag-ao, Iloilo temporarily moved to an evacuation center over fears of possible landslides in the area.

In an interview Tuesday, Ronan John Austria, head of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), said that Mayor Macario Napulan ordered the “forced evacuation of these families on Sunday as a preemptive measure.”

“There are some areas in the barangay (village) that have cracks on the soil. While there has been no landslide yet, the order of the mayor is for the safety of the residents,” he said.

Austria said some of these families, composed of more or less 30 individual residents, evacuated to the Igcatambor Elementary School while others decided to stay with their relatives in nearby villages.

He said they continue to monitor the area, along with other villages in their town. “The upland villages of our town are prone to landslide when there is rain, be it not really heavy but sustained or continuous rain,” he said.

Austria said personnel of the Mines and Geosciences Bureau 6 (Western Visayas) are expected to visit Igcatambor within the day to check the area where the ground cracks were found.

“They will clarify things out. They will check the situation and the possibility of landslide,” he added.
Austria said they will lay down their plans for the area based on the recommendation of MGB-6.

Tailand: Households near Phu Tap Berk evacuated over landslide fears.

Aug 7, 2018

The Governor of Petchabun province has ordered the evacuation of three households after finding a crack in the road leading to Phu Tap Berk that indicates the possibility of a landslide; meanwhile Chaiyaphum has ordered a crack in a concrete dyke in Subsaithong be repaired immediately.

A check of Highway 2331 leading up to Phu Tap Berk has revealed a one to two meter stretch of eroded roadway and a crack 10-70 centimeters wide stretching for 25-150 meters along the road. The crack descends through three layers of soil and would signal danger if it were to reach the fourth layer. Due to forecasts of more rain in the region, Governor of Petchabun Suebsak Iamcharoen has ordered that three households in the path of a possible landslide be evacuated and for evacuation rehearsals for another 25 households be undertaken. The roadway has been completely closed but some local residents are reportedly still using it, while an alternative route is being negotiated.
