What happens to rock layers under a diagonal pull, or being pulled apart? As can be seen during recent years, this has resulted in derailing trains, sinkholes suddenly appearing, gas and water main breaks, torn roadways and separating bridges. Despite the effect on man, crawling about on the surface of what they assume to be terra firma, these changes are superficial. When the pulling starts, weak points break and thereafter the plumbing and roadways hold, giving the impression that the pulling has stopped, but this is misleading. The North American continent is giving evidence that its rock layers are separating from each other, and sliding sideways in a diagonal, thus exposing portions of these layers to vent into the air above. If rock is being stressed, then where are the earthquake predictors giving evidence of this, the frantic animals, the static on the radio, the earthquake swarms? Rock in the stretch zone, pulling apart rather than compressing, does not emit the particles flows that animals and radios sense, nor register on instruments are tension and release quakes.

United Kingdom: A sinkhole has opened up in Barming.

The void was discovered earlier today and has caused deep cracks in the road and a driveway to crack up. Part of a fence has also subsided into the hole.
It was found at the edge of a field off Broomshaw Road and it is understood authorities have closed off the end of the road and houses lost water for a time.

NIXA, Mo. -- The Nixa School District says it has requested an expert look at a sinkhole that opened up near the track at the junior high school.
The sinkhole is about ten feet long. The school district roped off the area north and outside of the track. School leaders say they will measure the sinkhole to determine the next step.

Pat and Tony couldn't believe their eyes when they came across the huge sinkhole.
Two Limerick men were left astounded when they stumbled across a terrifying 25ft sinkhole on the outskirts of Limerick city.
Wildlife photographer Pat Murphy, who is a member of Limerick Birdwatch and Birdwatch Ireland, was taking a walk with pal Tony Ryan on Thursday evening when Tony spotted the sinkhole.
He told The Irish Mirror: "While out walking on Cleeves bank yesterday in Coonagh just on the outskirts of Limerick city we came upon this sinkhole.

Eight people have died and three remain missing in southern China after a massive sinkhole yesterday swallowed a major road in the middle of a city.
The eight-lane road caved in after a water leak occurred on the construction site of a subway station in Foshan, a city of seven million people, authorities said Thursday.
Nine people were rescued from the sinkhole, which is said to be as big as two basketball courts. The condition of the survivors are reportedly stable.

The sudden leak flooded the underground site and caused a 30-metre-long (100-foot-long) stretch of the road to collapse at around 8:40pm local time, the city government said in a statement today on Weibo, the Chinese equivalent to Twitter.
The statement said an initial leak was detected by the construction workers at around 7pm, but the workers failed to control the situation.
It was unclear whether the dead and missing were all construction workers.
Rescue works is underway for the three missing. The authorities are investigating the details of the accident.

A sinkhole 5 meters in diameter and 2 meters deep, filled with brackish water, emerged on Lido beach in Nice, along the famous Promenade des Anglais, local media report. Locals were stunned by its perfect roundness. Some wondered what may have caused the phenomenon.
“It's either a volcano or a geyser,” one Nice resident told 20minutes outlet. Others suggested the crater was from “a meteorite.”
