Altering Earthquakes:

ZetaTalk Aug 7, 2010

As of late, I have observed that USGS and EMSC are a bit lax on their reports of earthquakes. Sometimes not seeing anything reported for hours from the last update, or seeing periods of 90-200 minutes with no earthquakes in between. My question is, are they leaving swarms of earthquakes out of their reports, or there are actually periods of no earthquakes?

SOZT:   Greater than 90% of the earthquake activity is being altered by the USGS at present, which is under orders to prevent any clue being given to the public about the Earth changes caused by the presence of Planet X. Over a decade ago, the approach was to de-sensitize the live seismographs periodically, so the displays do not turn black worldwide, and to ignore the twice-a-day patterns showing up on these seismographs. Then any quakes that could be dropped were dropped. This was obvious to some who were watching the database manipulation. Quakes in the list would suddenly disappear. This was particularly the case where a quake happened in a remote location, or out in the ocean. Dumbing down the magnitude quickly followed, but in order to ensure the public did not notice, the USGS took control of all websites reporting quake statistics. At times, this control breaks, and discrepancies are reported to the public. Some countries rebel. Quake swarms are another source of control, as they pepper the databases with many quakes and skew the statistics, and thus are pulled from the database. Else the question is raised, why so many?   EOZT

Will the USGS internet system be a reliable warning system for the European tsunami by registering on the net the New Madrid earthquake on the exact time it occurs?

SOZT:   It will not be a lack of information from the USGS that will be the point of confusion during the earthquakes leading up to the New Madrid adjustment, it will be knowing which quake is the big one vs the many minor quakes preceding it. The USGS downgrades almost all earthquakes, to prevent meaningful statistics from being generated from their databases. They also exclude quakes whenever they can, but this is unlikely to happen in the New Madrid area as it is in the center of a populated land mass. Thus you will have magnitude 6 quakes that will be called a 5.2, magnitude 7 quakes called a 6.1, and when a magnitude 8 or greater quake occurs, it will be called a 6.9.

We would advise that rather than watching the USGS quake statistics, that you watch the Earth changes. The adjustment that will incite the European tsunami will involve bridges on the Mississippi breaking, and being impassable. The land to the west of the Mississippi will drop so that the Mississippi will become 50 miles wide in the state of Mississippi. Watch for this. The New Madrid adjustment will be several large quakes of magnitude 8-9, though will be listed as a lesser magnitude. As the N American continent continues to unzip up to and along the Seaway, the quakes will be less than a magnitude 8 but very destructive to Cleveland and Toledo and Buffalo and the inland locks along the Seaway. Thus it is not what the USGS says that should be watched, but the condition of the bridges on the Mississippi, the impact on the cities along the Seaway, and whether the inland locks are reported as inoperable.   EOZT

Yet another shake near Tasmania today. That makes 5.
The three near King Island are
1 at Magnitude: 3.4
2 at Magnitude: 3.2

The other 2 just north of Tasmania are
Magnitude 2.3.

The ones with the red rings around them on this image are felt shakes.

Most significant earthquake in decades shakes Virginia border with W. Virginia

http://www.journalnow.com/news/nation_world/most-signficant-earthqu...

ROANOKE, Va. — Parts of the New River Valley were shaken by an earthquake Wednesday (Sept 13) that started shortly after 1:30 p.m.

People from seven states, including North Carolina, reported feeling the quake, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The North Carolina reports came from Mount Airy, Walnut Cove and West Jefferson.

A Virginia Tech seismograph showed the epicenter just over the state line in West Virginia with a magnitude between 3.7 and 4.0. That's a big enough earthquake to make it the largest in the area since 1968, said Martin Chapman, the director of the Virginia Tech Seismological Observatory.

The earthquake was felt by people across the New River Valley. Near its epicenter, the quake was loud and shook the earth dramatically, witnesses said.

"It was like an explosion went off," said Roger Jones, town manager of Rich Creek, a Giles County town northwest of Pearisburg. The area is about an hour west of Roanoke and about 150 miles north of Greensboro.

Jones said there was a loud noise alongside the shake followed by a second loud noise and shake that was felt by workers inside Town Hall.

More than 200 calls came into the Giles County Sheriff’s Office dispatch in the half hour after the quake, according to the department. Giles County Administrator Chris McKlarney said county workers immediately went to check on school buildings and other county properties and no damage to public property has been found yet.

The last measurable earthquake in the area was in May. That one was a 2.8 magnitude quake with an epicenter near Narrows, it was 10 times smaller than Wednesday's.

An 8.0-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Mexico Thursday evening, causing people in the capital city to flee from buildings.

While the strong quake hit near the coast of Chiapas, Mexico, the National Weather Service tsunami alerts tweeted that a tsunami was not expected to hit the coastal areas.

Swarms of small mag Quakes hit the entire midwest region:

EARTHQUAKE SWARM CONTINUES TO SHAKE SOUTHEAST IDAHO: There have now been 116 earthquakes since Saturday night

http://idahostatejournal.com/news/local/earthquake-swarm-won-t-stop...

The strongest earthquake to hit the region in years as well as 115 smaller quakes occurred Saturday night to Tuesday night in Southeast Idaho, startling tens of thousands of residents.

Authorities said it does not appear that the quakes have caused any injuries to people or damage to structures (ADVICE ON WHAT TO DO IF AN EARTHQUAKE HITS YOUR TOWN IS AT THE END OF THIS ARTICLE).

The quakes have been felt in the Caribou County area, where all 116 occurred, as well as in cities in northern Utah and throughout Southeast Idaho. It's unknown when the earthquake swarm will end. Earthquake swarms have been known to continue for weeks or even months.

In recent decades Southeast Idaho has seen infrequent instances in which one to three weak earthquakes occur near the Western Wyoming border. Local authorities say they cannot ever remember any earthquake swarm in Southeast Idaho that comes even close to the current series of temblors shaking the region.

There were 20 quakes on Tuesday, 28 on Monday, 34 throughout the day on Sunday and 34 on Saturday night. All 116 of the quakes were reported by University of Utah Seismograph Stations.

Bannock County Sheriff Lorin Nielsen said he's been a law enforcement officer in Southeast Idaho for over 40 years and during that time there's never previously been so many earthquakes occurring in such a short time frame. He said at the most there have been up to three earthquakes that have occurred in short succession along the East Idaho-Western Wyoming border. The dozens of earthquakes that have occurred since Saturday night in Southeast Idaho are unprecedented, the sheriff said.

"I've never seen anything like this," Nielsen said. "My wife asked if we should leave the house."

The earthquakes occurred starting shortly before 6 p.m. Saturday. The second quake to strike was at 5:56 p.m. Saturday and it was the most powerful thus far. The quake was about 10 miles east of Soda Springs and registered at magnitude 5.3 — strong enough to possibly damage buildings. It's been years since Southeast Idaho has experienced a quake of over magnitude 5.0.

The earthquakes have occurred at various distances east, southeast and northeast of Soda Springs, Caribou County's largest city. The farthest away were about 20 miles southeast and northeast of Soda Springs and the closest was about 1 mile east of the city.

The quakes have been felt as far away as Salt Lake City, Logan and Ogden in northern Utah and Malad, Basalt, Arimo, Pocatello, Chubbuck, American Falls, Fort Hall, Aberdeen, Blackfoot and Springfield in Southeast Idaho.
