"Stretch zones primarily experience sinking ground, as the support in the rock strata is stretched thin. Thus, buildings implode and gas and water mains break."  ZetaTalk

What happens to rock layers under a diagonal pull, or being pulled apart? As can be seen during recent years, this has resulted in derailing trains, sinkholes suddenly appearing, gas and water main breaks, torn roadways and separating bridges. Despite the effect on man, crawling about on the surface of what they assume to be terra firma, these changes are superficial. When the pulling starts, weak points break and thereafter the plumbing and roadways hold, giving the impression that the pulling has stopped, but this is misleading. The North American continent is giving evidence that its rock layers are separating from each other, and sliding sideways in a diagonal, thus exposing portions of these layers to vent into the air above. If rock is being stressed, then where are the earthquake predictors giving evidence of this, the frantic animals, the static on the radio, the earthquake swarms? Rock in the stretch zone, pulling apart rather than compressing, does not emit the particles flows that animals and radios sense, nor register on instruments are tension and release quakes.

"We have repeatedly stated that the Earth changes will not diminish, but will increase going into the pole shift.

This is not a lineal matter, as the closer Planet X comes to Earth, an inevitable path, the more the torque effect and the polar wobble where the N Pole of Earth is pushed away violently on a daily basis, occur. The wobble will become more pronounced, more violent. The plates are tugged back West of the Atlantic, pulled forward East of the Atlantic, during the daily rotation of the Earth. The North American continent is allowed to roll East during rotation while the S Pole is pulled West, creating the diagonal pull likely to trigger the New Madrid fault line into an adjustment, and soon. The N Pole is pushed away and allowed to bounce back, daily, as the Earth rotates, a wobble that puts stress on all fault lines when the plates are suddenly in motion, and suddenly stopped!

"As there is no other explanation for the effect on the stretch zone, lacking any earthquakes to blame, and as these stretch zone accidents will continue to emerge, and with ferocity, this is a certain clue to those on the fence, that the influence of Planet X is the cause. Or is it Global Warming?"

ZetaTalk Chat Q&A for April 13, 2013

"Sinkholes almost invariably form in areas subject to karst limestone cavern formation. Underground water flows eat away the limestone leaving vast caverns and caves, which often give scant indication above ground that a cavern lies below. Karst limestone rock formations have been mapped and are known, however, but since one never knows just where a cavern might have formed, this provides little help in predicting just where a sinkhole might form. Sinkholes open up when the rock is fractured due to stress from being in the stretch zone, from the bending of a plate, or due to torsion."

Second Sinkhole Opens Up In East Boston

http://boston.cbslocal.com/2015/08/11/east-boston-sinkhole-water-ma...

BOSTON (CBS) — A second sinkhole popped up in East Boston overnight, causing more trouble for residents Tuesday morning.
The sinkholes were spurred a 10-inch water main break on Cottage Street on Monday evening, which flooded some homes and cars.
Photos taken by Boston firefighters showed a car that had to be pulled out of the initial sinkhole.
There was still lots of repair work to be done on Tuesday, and water and gas service was shut off for some Cottage Street residents.

Big sinkhole in Colo. Springs getting bigger

http://www.9news.com/story/news/local/2015/08/11/colorado-springs-s...

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - City officials say a large sinkhole in northwest Colorado Springs is getting bigger.

Aaron Egbert, a civil engineer with the city, tells The Gazette the sinkhole opened on North Chestnut Street after heavy rain Monday and was last measured at 25 feet deep, 15 feet wide and 25 feet long. He added that the area is extremely unstable, and it's unclear when repairs will be completed.

Additional rainfall is anticipated over the next few days.

The road is closed to vehicles, and pedestrians and cyclists are being asked to stay out of the area.

School Bus With Special Needs Students Gets Trapped In Sinkhole In The Bronx

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — A school bus transporting special needs children got stuck in a sinkhole in the Bronx late Thursday afternoon.

As CBS2’s Jessica Schneider reported, the bus was traveling down the street down Creston Avenue toward East Burnside Avenue, in the Tremont section of the Bronx around 3 p.m.

The bus was taking special needs students to camp, officials said.

The bus went over what was then a small pothole, and ended up plummeting into what became an enormous sinkhole.

The ground opened underneath the bus to something that was about 10 feet long and 6 feet wide.

Several special needs students were on board when the incident happened. They all got off the bus safely and none were injured.

But the students’ parents rushed out to the scene and were startled by what they saw. Many were concerned.

“Very, very scary. The bus driver told me she almost fainted,” parent Wale Woade said.

The scene unfolded without warning. Department of Environmental Protection officials said nothing had been reported as wrong with the stretch of Creston Avenue where the accident happened.

City crews finally pulled the bus out of the sinkhole early Thursday evening. Traffic on Creston Avenue was still blocked off near the scene.

Crews were tearing up the street on Thursday night, and checking the water main directly below to see if any leak may have triggered the road collapse.

“There is a water main under there and part of our excavation is to determine what is going on under there. Whether or not there’s a leak, so that’s why we’re excavating to figure out the source of the problem,” said Eric Landau, associate commissioner the DEP.

The school bus operator was examined by paramedics and was reportedly doing fine late Thursday, CBS2’s Schneider reported.

Giant Sinkhole Engulfs New York City Intersection (Aug 4)

A massive sinkhole has swallowed up an intersection in Brooklyn, New York, snarling up traffic and causing water and gas outages to nearby buildings.

Dramatic images show the gaping hole in the corner of 64th Street and 5th Avenue, located just a short block away from the I-278, also known as the Gowanus Expressway, in Brooklyn’s Sunset Park neighborhood.

The crater appeared shortly after 7:00am on Tuesday. There were no injuries.

“There were cars on it just minutes before,” Frank Bowman, whose rooftop surveillance camera captured the cave-in, told WCBS radio. “There was no warning, this thing just happened quick.”

Fire department and utility crews are at the site, securing the area and attempting to reconnect the severed utility lines, local media report. Police have blocked 5th Avenue, the area’s busiest road. The crater, measuring 20 feet (six meters) deep and 20 feet across, has become a neighborhood attraction.

“I’ve never seen anything like this,” one man told WCBS reporters. “This is really crazy.”

The Dead Sea is shrinking! Roads, caravans and power lines are swallowed up by giant sinkholes that are appearing as waters vanish from Israeli shores

  • Giant sinkholes forming at a dramatic rate on the Israeli shoreline are swallowing roads, caravans and power lines
  • Hundreds of sinkholes, some the size of a basketball court, are rapidly forming because the Dead Sea is shrinking
  • Waters are vanishing at rate of more than one metre a year and the problem is set to get worse without global action
  • Happening because its natural water sources have been diverted for farming and drinking water, and due to mining

Roads, caravans and power lines are being swallowed up by giant sinkholes appearing at a rapid rate because the Dead Sea is shrinking from Israeli shores in a man-made phenomenon.

Hundreds of sinkholes, some the size of a basketball court and some two storeys deep, are wreaking havoc by devouring land where the shoreline once stood.

Waters are vanishing at a rate of more than one metre a year and the problem is set to get worse without action on an international scale.

Crane to remove drill rig from Citrus sinkhole

http://www.baynews9.com/content/news/baynews9/news/article.html/con...

PINE RIDGE --
Drilling a well outside a Citrus County home wasn’t supposed to form huge sinkhole swallowing the drilling rig, but that’s exactly what happened Thursday.

“Things were going pretty good then the ground just gave away,” said neighbor Judd Garvin.

Judd Garvin who lives near the home saw it happen right before his eyes yesterday. On Friday, he and a group of neighbors get to watch a 250-ton crane pull the now bent drill rig out of the 30-feet-deep hole.

But crews say it won’t be an easy hook.

“The nature of the lift is rather challenging -- the drill rig itself is around 56,000 pounds,” said VP of Citrus Well Drilling Inc., Todd Townsend.

Crews fear the crane will also sink due to the weight which is why crews are laying blocks on the ground as padding underneath it.

Citrus Well Drilling says a hole of that size is a rare occurrence.

“We’ve been drilling for 40 years, this is the second one we’ve experienced with this size and magnitude,” said Townsend.

Crews plan to be on scene for several more hours working on making sure they pull the rig out safely.

BACKHOE GETS STUCK OVER LARGE SINKHOLE IN ROSELAND

http://abc7chicago.com/news/backhoe-stuck-in-large-sinkhole-in-fern...

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A backhoe got stuck over a large sinkhole in the Roseland neighborhood on Chicago's Far South Side.

The Chicago Water Dept. said they were called to the area Wednesday afternoon for a sewer cave-in. The backhoe was attempting to temporarily cover a hole in 103rd St. with a metal plate when more of the street gave way.

The driver was able to exit the backhoe safely. Residents said they noticed the road had a problem weeks ago.

"I noticed a little dip in the street right here," says Cunard Buchanon. "At first it was a small dip, then throughout the first week it was spreading it a bit, getting a little bit wider like a bowl. Today, I'm driving my cousin to day camp, we drove over it, I'm like, this is gonna open up today."

On Wednesday night, a crane gently lifted the backhoe off the hole and revealed the problem - a broken sewer main. Water department officials said the sewer main is made out of brick and was built in 1898.

"We're targeting all of the old infrastructure, the old sewer mains, the old water mains and we're replacing them," said Dep. Cmsr. Dwayne Hightower, Dept. of Water Management.

Papua New Guinea sinkhole destroys 16 houses, injures two

A sinkhole in Papua New Guinea's east has destroyed 16 houses and injured two people, local media says.

The Post-Courier reported the sinkhole appeared in the swampy Ambunti area of East Sepik Province and caused panic among locals.

Photos on social media showed huge cracks in the soil, as well as collapsed houses.

The newspaper quoted a witness who said the sinkhole formed about midday on Saturday, near the Sepik River.

The ABC has been unable to reach emergency officials.

Pike County man dies after driving into sinkhole

Posted: Jul 19, 2015 4:55 PM EDT

PIKE COUNTY, Ill. (WGEM) -

A Pike County man died early Sunday morning after his vehicle drove directly into a sinkhole following a road collapse.

Pike County Sheriff Paul Petty says they responded to a single vehicle crash on County Highway 2, 1.5 miles east of New Salem.  Petty says emergency personnel found an Illinois Rural Electric Cooperative work truck, which had responded due to power outages during a storm.

Petty says it was believed the roadway had collapsed above a culvert running directly under the road. Heavy rains weakened the structured.  He says the vehicle drove directly into the road collapse. The roadway, which is twenty-two feet wide, collapsed and sunk directly below, which created a hole over twenty feet long and the entire width of the roadway.

The driver of the vehicle, Robert W. Moss, 52, of Pittsfield, was pronounced dead at the scene and later taken to Niebur Funeral Home.

REA released a statement, saying in the dark rain, Moss likely never saw what was coming.

Petty believes the crash happened sometime between 5am and 6am Sunday morning.  He says the road is closed and will likely be closed for several weeks for repair.
