@ FindMeifYoucan - Red is optimal, however, orange or yellow can also work.

I happen to know of someone who is indeed pointing a cam at the Sun, all day long, with a red filter in front of it. So far, cloudy days, but mayhap it will produce animation!

I must share this story. Just got back from depositing my tax RETURN checks at the bank, driving past the local spring where the public can bottle-up all they want. A man was standing there pointing a camera toward the Sun, holding a RED FILTER in front of the camera! I kid you not. The Sun glinted off that filter, so very red, I could hardly miss it.
