Today, the 18th Paroxysm at the volcano Etna on Sicily began. Previously, there was at 06:00 CET in UR depth of 10 km an earthquake of magnitude 4.2 on Sicily. The earthquake occurred north of Sicily in the Mediterranean.

Scientists have detected a significant enrichment of helium and carbon dioxide dissolved in seawaterReuters Scientists have detected a significant enrichment of helium and carbon dioxide dissolved in sea water south of La Restinga, near the area where there is more volcanic gases bubbling, where helium becomes 4,000 to 35,000 times higher than the concentrations considered normal seawater.
These enrichments are stressed about 100 meters deep in vertical geochemical profiles closer to the bubble located south of the Restinga as a result of the depth of the submarine eruptive mouth, the magnitude of volcanic-download-magmatic hydrothermal and ocean current predominant, according to a statement of the Cabildo of Tenerife.

El Hierro volcano - Underwater volcano spews gas
An underwater volcano near El Hierro in the Canary Islands has begun erupting near the shore, reports Reuters.
The eruptions may be spectacular, but officials have also noticed that the volcano is spewing toxic gases into the air around the island. After a worker studying the volcano became ill, several of the island's beaches were closed. In the video, a local explains that the volcano is also making the island's cats act strangely and eat dead fish.
The volcano, which is just over 200 feet from the surface, began erupting a week ago. The Daily Mail reports the eruption began with a 4.3-magnitude earthquake. According to the International Business Times, the volcano is shooting magma 65 feet into the air.....

Poisonous gas spewing from an undersea volcano has prompted evacuations on the Spanish tourist haven of the Canary Islands.
Witnesses reported explosions from the volcano blasting 25 metres above sea level during a month of unusual volcanic activity.
The southernmost town in the Canaries, La Restinga, has experienced small earthquakes over the past four months, prompting evacuations.
People have also reported seeing dead fish floating on the water, which scientists believe were killed by the toxic gas.

A new earthquake on the Canary Island of El Hierro at 8,36pm on Friday evening, resulted in evacuating 11 homes in the Las Puntas area, and once again closing the Los Roquillos road tunnel. Some rockfalls were caused by the tremor, which was located off the coast of Frontera at a depth of 22 kms. It’s the biggest quake of more than 11,000 tremors to have hit the island since July. As a precaution, the Canary Island Government, closed the road tunnel overnight. It’s the main road between Frontera and Valverde, and was reopened on Saturday morning. Experts say the volcanic fissure is moving slowly towards the island, now at a distance of 1,800m, although they insist this was expected and the situation remains safe. Even so it is reported that half the population of La Restinga have now left their homes.

Surrounded by smoke, the volcano -- located in the eastern Virunga National Park -- was still erupting but posed no threat to locals or the mountain gorillas living in the park, said Congo's Centre for Research and Natural Sciences.
The Virunga National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage site and, aside from being home to some of the region's world-famous (and critically endangered) Mountain Gorillas, at least 20,000 hippopotamuses live in the area.
According to NASA, which imaged the volcano using its Terra satellite, Nyamuragira last erupted in January of 2010. Even though lava flowed more than 21 miles during the eruption, the flow stayed within the park. The ash from the volcano, however, contaminated drinking water in area springs.
In 2002, the nearby Nyiragongo volcano destroyed a large portion of Goma, a city in the eastern part of the country. Despite being classified as a “minor” (menor, in Spanish) eruption, Chile’s Puyehue Cordon-Caulle Volcano continues to pump out large amounts of ash. This natural-color satellite image shows the pale plume blowing to the northeast of the active vent. According to SERNAGEOMIN, the Chilean National Service of Geology and Mining, ash rose to a height of 5 kilometers (3 miles), and blew as far as 300 km (190 miles) from the volcano. Wide-area satellite images show the full length of the plume, and ash covering the Argentinian plains to the east of Puyehue Cordón-Caulle.
