Very Unusual Weather in San Francisco Today, the seasons are defiantly blending together.

 

For those of you who don’t know summer rain in San Francisco especially from this type of storm is practically unheard of. .DISCUSSION...WHAT TIME OF YEAR IS IT? A MID LATITUDE CYCLONE BROUGHT

LARGE RAINFALL TOTALS TO THE BAY AREA COUNTIES AND IT`S ALMOST THE

END OF JUNE. A HIGHLY UNUSUAL WEATHER EVENT IT WAS TODAY MUCH MORE

REMINISCENT OF A COOL SEASON STORMY WEATHER DAY. SAN FRANCISCO

REPORTED JUST OVER 3/4 INCH OF RAINFALL WITH A SPOTTER REPORT WITHIN

THE CITY AT 1 INCH OF RAIN. OAKLAND REPORTED JUST OVER 1 INCH OF RAIN

AND NAPA AND NAPA AIRPORT REPORTED JUST SHY OF 1 INCH OF RAIN AT

0.90 INCHES. OUR BAPSU (BAY AREA PUBLIC SERVICE UNIT) DILIGENTLY PUT

TOGETHER ALL THE RAINFALL TOTALS AND COMPARISONS AGAINST RECORDS...

PLEASE SEE PRODUCT PNSMTR (WMO HEADER NOUS46 KMTR). ADDITIONALLY

KENTFIELD...SANTA ROSA AND SAN RAFAEL ONLY MADE IT ONLY AS FAR AS THE

UPPER 50S TODAY. USUALLY INLAND VALLEY HEAT IS WELL UNDERWAY THIS

TIME OF YEAR. FOR INSTANCE A SHORT DRIVE FROM THE OCEAN OR BAY WATERS

TO THE NORTH BAY COUNTY VINEYARDS IS OFTEN ASSOCIATED WITH A

TRANSITION TO SUNNY HOT DRY WEATHER. SANTA ROSA`S HIGH WAS 22 DEGREES

BELOW NORMAL!
