Spain Experiences its Worst Train Accident in 40 Years

An increase in train derailments was one of the first symptoms of the approach of Planet X to become noticeable, being expressed even before Planet X entered the inner solar system in 2003.

Planet X was described as affecting the Earth from afar, like tugging on the edge of a spider web where the effects are felt elsewhere on the web; in this way there has been an increase in earthquakes and unpredictable weather going back years, even before Planet X entered the solar system, due to the increased swirling of the Earth’s core.

It is therefore logical that an increase in train derailments would accompany any increase in seismic activity – train tracks need to be straight and even the slightest shift to the side of a section of track would cause a train to derail.

The area most affected by train derailments is the stretch zone.  Stretch zone quakes are silent, and people are generally unaware anything is happening, although signs such as booms and trumpet sounds can occur.

This zone stretches from Western Europe across the Eurasian Plate, and also includes the South-East United States, the St. Lawrence Seaway, the Red Sea and the African Rift.

In other parts of the world, shifting ground is more associated with earthquakes that people are aware of, such as the Pacific which is compressing, so authorities inspect railway tracks after any seismic activity, reducing the likelihood of accidents.

HUNTINGTON, Mo. — An estimated 33 cars of a Norfolk Southern train, many of them carrying new automobiles, derailed Monday afternoon in northern Ralls County, Mo. No injuries or hazardous material spills were reported.

KHQA-TV reports the Missouri State Highway Patrol and other first responders were notified of the derailment about 12:15 p.m. The accident blocked State Route DD, which will remain closed for an unknown period.

Norfork Southern has advised customers that with the single-track main line blocked by the derailment, intermodal trains will reroute through St. Louis, creating the possibility of 12- to 18-hour delays in transit between Kansas City and the Northeast.

The derailment occurred about 15 miles west-southwest of Hannibal, Mo., and about 100 miles northwest of St. Louis.

SIBLEY, Iowa (KTIV/AP) May 16, 2021 - Authorities say the derailment was the result of a bridge collapse.

They say the fire was caused by diesel fuel. All waterways in the area have been blocked. Images of the derailment posted online show dozens of train cars piled up along the tracks with flames and a large plume of smoke.  Union Pacific said 47 cars derailed.

Taiwan: Dozens killed as train crashes and derails in tunnel

Published48 minutes ago

At least 48 people have been killed and dozens more injured after a train carrying nearly 500 crashed and then derailed in a tunnel in Taiwan.

The eight-carriage train reportedly hit a construction vehicle that had slipped onto the tracks at the tunnel's mouth.

Rescuers combed badly damaged carriages inside the tunnel to find survivors, some of whom smashed windows to flee.

The train, from the capital Taipei to Taitung, was carrying people travelling for a long-weekend annual holiday.

Many people may have been standing because the train was so full.

The 408 train is one of the fastest deployed on a network that is generally considered safe. It can reach speeds of 130km/h (80mph).

Friday's crash is Taiwan's worst rail disaster in decades. President Tsai Ing-wen has sent her condolences to the families of the victims and ordered an investigation.

The latest reports from the National Fire Agency say 490 people were on the train, with 48 dead and some 66 injured.

'Sudden violent jolt'

The crash took place at about 09:00 local time (01:00 GMT).

Some people at the back of the train were able to walk away unscathed, while 100 were rescued from the first four carriages. Many of the dead, injured and trapped were in four crumpled carriages inside the tunnel.

"It felt like there was a sudden violent jolt and I found myself falling to the floor," one female survivor told Taiwan's UDN. "We broke the window to climb to the roof of the train to get out."

Another rescued woman said: "My whole body fell to the floor. I hit my head and it started bleeding."

A 50-year-old survivor told Apple Daily she saw many people trapped under their seats and when she walked out of her carriage she saw bodies everywhere.

Local media reports say the train driver is among the dead.

Images show a large, yellow flatbed truck lying at the side of the tracks. A construction project has been under way near the north end of the tunnel.

It is not known how the vehicle slipped down the embankment.

Survivors on stretchers

Other pictures showed people walking along the tracks with their belongings as they were evacuated from less badly affected carriages.

Other survivors were being carried away on stretchers with their necks in braces.

Taiwan Premier Su Tseng-chang visited the crash site on Friday afternoon.

UK Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab said on Twitter: "I offer my sincere condolences to all those affected by this morning's rail accident in Taiwan."

Train derails over Cincinnati bridge, leaks fuel; Part of Gest Street closed

Quinlan Bentley
Cincinnati Enquirer
Updated, 11:58 a.m.: No one was injured after seven train cars derailed on a bridge over Gest Street in Queensgate Sunday morning, according to officials with CSX Railroad.

There were no crew members in the train's cab during the incident, Bryan Tucker, railroad spokesperson, told The Enquirer, adding that the train was being operated remotely.

Tucker said the incident is currently under investigation.

Crews are continuing to work on the wreckage and Gest Street is expected to reopen late Sunday night, he said.

Previous reporting: Seven train cars derailed on a bridge near the Cincinnati Museum Center on Sunday morning, according to a release from the Cincinnati Fire Department.

Firefighters responded to a report of a butane leak and found the train had derailed on the CSX Railroad Bridge over Gest Street, officials said.

Approximately 1,000 gallons of diesel had leaked from the train and onto the street below but the firefighters were able to contain the spill, officials said.

There was no hazardous material released from any of the train cars but the Metropolitan Sewer District has activated the Millcreek Dam to prevent diesel fuel from getting into the Ohio River, according to firefighters and the Metropolitan Sewer District.

Several powerlines are also down as a result of the incident. Workers with Duke Energy, CSX Railroad, MSD and the Cincinnati Fire Department responded to the scene.

Officials said the cleanup would take "an extended period of time" and Gest Street is now closed between Dalton Avenue and Evans Street. Seven cars derailed on top of the CSX Railroad bridge overtop on Gest Street in Queensgate Sunday morning. Duke Energy has also responded to the scene.

Train derailment Wednesday morning near Vado causes road closures

LAS CRUCES - A train derailed early Wednesday morning in Vado, crossing state road 189. The crash occurred at 5:30 a.m. when 12 empty rail cars and two locomotives derailed on a BNSF train.

"Lane closures (are) in effect on New Mexico 28 and on New Mexico 478," said Ami Evans, public information officer for the New Mexico Department of Transportation

As of 11 a.m. Wednesday, NM 189 was closed at milepost 2. NM 28 and NM 478 had been reopened. NM 189 is expected to remain closed until noon Dec. 3, according to NMDOT officials.

Law enforcement remains on the scene. New Mexico State Police are assisting at the crash site.

Motorists are asked to reduce speed, obey posted signs, watch for emergency personnel and use extreme caution. Please expect delays and, if possible, seek an alternate route.

"The train's engineer and conductor were taken to a local hospital to be treated for minor injuries," said Amy Casas, spokesperson for BNSF.

By 3 p.m. Wednesday, both had been treated and released from the hospital.

Evans said the cleanup will take a while.

"It was a pretty good little pile-up of train — the engine and a couple of cars," Evans said.

Casas said the incident is still under investigation, but that cleanup is expected to be completed at the derailment site by Thursday morning.

This is a developing story and will be updated once more information becomes available.

Train cars derail from tracks causing traffic snarl south of Fresno

The incident forced the California Highway Patrol to close a short but heavily traveled section of Central Avenue for hours.
Dec 3 2020
FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Authorities are investigating after a train derailed south of Fresno on Thursday morning.
Fourteen train cars on an 85-car train came off the BNSF Railway tracks that cross Central Avenue between Maple and Cedar Avenues, west of Highway 99, at about 5 am.
One of the derailed cars was carrying railroad wheels.
The other 13 were empty.
The cars remained upright and off the tracks. No one was injured.
Officials say the train was coming from Richmond, California and headed to Barstow, California.
Authorities say they have a workaround route, so train traffic will continue.
Lots of heavy equipment was brought in to help crews clean up the derailment.
The incident forced the California Highway Patrol to close a short but heavily traveled section of Central Avenue for hours.
A portion of Malaga Avenue, where Louis Raco lives, was also closed to traffic.
"Ordinarily we don't have too many problems here so this was surprising to me," Raco said.
Raco says she was up at 5 a.m. when the cars derailed, but didn't hear anything.
Eventually she looked outside and saw the intersection was blocked by a train.
"I kept looking out there as it got daylight, I could see this car with blinking lights and I thought something's not right," she said.
Last week, a train derailed on a Union Pacific Line near Goshen, spilling a few gallons of hydrochloric acid.
BNSF officials say no hazardous materials were compromised in Thursday's derailment.
Officials haven't said how much damage was done to the cars or tracks, but they can confirm there were no injuries.
"Just good that no one got hurt," Raco said. "That's the main thing."
The cause of the derailment is still under investigation.

Rail cars jump tracks, spill coal

November 25 2020

GREEN TOWNSHIP — The tiny village of Wandin was rattled Wednesday morning by the derailment of a northbound train loaded with coal and the collapse of a trestle over Wandin Road.

A spokesman at the Nicholasville, Ky., headquarters of RJ Corman Railroad Company, the owner of the rail line, said the cause of the accident was under investigation and the bridge was not thought to be responsible.

“Based on early indications, we do not believe at this time that the bridge failed,” said Todd Bivins. “But after that … I cannot say whether it was a track cause, or an equipment cause. That’s under investigation.”

Four cars of 64 in the train jumped the track: 36 had safely crossed and 24 others sat on the rails on the approach to the trestle along Starford Road, according to Assistant Chief James Hopkins III of the Commodore Volunteer Fire Department.

Tons of coal spilled into the woods on both sides of Wandin Road but appeared to pose no environmental danger or threaten any waterways.

No one was injured.

Townspeople congregated near the collapsed bridge with cell phones and cameras, mingled among the first responders and railroad workers, and clambered through heavy brush to cross the tracks and get a gander at both sides of the ruined bridge.

“We were told someone had just driven through a moment earlier,” Hopkins said.

The train had been loaded with coal mined near Clymer and was bound for an interchange point near Clearfield, where Norfolk Southern Railroad would have taken the hopper cars to another destination, Bivins told the Gazette.

State police troopers investigated at the scene the mishap and worked with Commodore firefighters to detour traffic away from the fallen trestle. The bridge crossed Wandin Road less than 100 yards south of Starford Road.

“Certainly it’s a holiday, but we’re going to work to get this thing all cleaned up as soon as we can, today and tomorrow,” Bivins said. Wandin Road would be reopened “as soon as possible.”

No injuries reported after 21 Philadelphia-bound freight cars derail in Baltimore City

NOV 24, 2020 AT 6:28 PM

A 21-car freight train derailment near Sisson and West 24th streets in North Baltimore was cleared from the tracks about 5 a.m. Tuesday, and train service resumed within the hour, according to CSX Transportation, the railroad company.

The derailment happened as the 109-car train was passing through Baltimore about 6:30 p.m. Monday on its way to Philadelphia from Avon, Indiana, a company official said.

No hazardous materials were involved, and there were no injuries to the train crew or the public, according to Cindy Schild, director of media relations and public affairs for the Jacksonville, Florida-based railroad.

The derailed cars were either empty or carrying pulpwood or sand, said Schild, who added that CSX is working closely with and appreciates the quick response by Baltimore fire and police departments as well as the Maryland Department of Transportation.

“The safety of the community and everyone on site is our top priority as we develop a recovery plan,” Schild said.

Another CSX freight train derailed nearby in 2019. It was traveling north on elevated tracks near the North Avenue bridge when several cars derailed, plunging onto Falls Road. No one was injured, but one person’s vehicle was nearly struck by a toppled light pole.

At times Monday night, small groups of bystanders peered over the railings on the Sisson Street bridge to the tilted train cars below. From there, the train cars stretched out of sight into the darkness.

Ten cars of wheat train derail in northwestern Minnesota

Nov 16, 2020 11:15 AM

VIKING, MINN. – Work crews spent nearly two days making repairs and clearing a grove of trees along the railroad tracks of the Northern Plains Railway west of Viking, in northwestern Minnesota, after 10 hopper cars carrying grain derailed and block the rail line.

Repairs were completed and the tracks were reopened Saturday. Crews had to build a road to the area that had to be cleared where the cars are stacked so equipment could be brought in to remove the grain. That work is still underway.

There’s no word on what caused the derailment.

ATLANTA — Authorities are investigating what preceded a train derailment Sunday night that sent one person to the hospital.

It happened in the 2900 block of Parrott Avenue NW, near the Riverside neighborhood, according to Atlanta Police. That's near the Chattahoochee River, just inside Interstate 285.

Police said they initially got a call of a traffic accident in the area, but the call was later changed to that of a rescue.

While the details of that rescue are unclear, Atlanta Police confirmed that one person was taken to the hospital. They were reportedly stable.

The train, operated by Norfolk Southern, derailed at around 8 p.m., according to the company. The company said members of its team are still gathering information from the field as to what happened exactly to cause the train to derail.

Neither the contents of the train nor its destination were available at this time.
