Just as I was beginning to think that this buoy would never re-activate, we get the Aceh & North Indian Sea quakes yesterday, and voilà, here she goes in concert with all of 12 other buoys covering the Indo-Australian Plate movements..

By a long shot, yes... from the emsc - map, you can see that the quake actually sits next to the junction where the African Plate meets the Antarctic Plate AND where the Pacific Plate meets the Antarctic Plate...:  Kojima´s done this great illustration which shows the roll of Africa, as it DROPS (thus bumping down into the Antarctic Plate) ...
