21401, 250 NM Southeast of Iturup Island now in tsunami event mode.
Iturup is the northernmost island in the southern Kuril/Chishima islands.
In 1963, the area experienced a M8.5 eq, in 2006 a M8.3 and in 2007 a M8.1.
Per Wikipedia, "The Kuril Islands form part of the island arc formed above the subduction zone, where the Pacific Plate is being subducted beneath the Eurasian Plate. This convergent boundary has been the site of many large megathrust earthquakes."

March 20, 2012 — A major earthquake has hit Oaxaca, Mexico.
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) has reported a 7.6-magnitude earthquake in Oaxaca, Mexico, about 200 km east of Acapulco.
The quake was originally thought to be a 7.9 but has since been downgraded. It struck the area at 18:02 GMT.
