Altering Earthquakes:

ZetaTalk Aug 7, 2010

As of late, I have observed that USGS and EMSC are a bit lax on their reports of earthquakes. Sometimes not seeing anything reported for hours from the last update, or seeing periods of 90-200 minutes with no earthquakes in between. My question is, are they leaving swarms of earthquakes out of their reports, or there are actually periods of no earthquakes?

SOZT:   Greater than 90% of the earthquake activity is being altered by the USGS at present, which is under orders to prevent any clue being given to the public about the Earth changes caused by the presence of Planet X. Over a decade ago, the approach was to de-sensitize the live seismographs periodically, so the displays do not turn black worldwide, and to ignore the twice-a-day patterns showing up on these seismographs. Then any quakes that could be dropped were dropped. This was obvious to some who were watching the database manipulation. Quakes in the list would suddenly disappear. This was particularly the case where a quake happened in a remote location, or out in the ocean. Dumbing down the magnitude quickly followed, but in order to ensure the public did not notice, the USGS took control of all websites reporting quake statistics. At times, this control breaks, and discrepancies are reported to the public. Some countries rebel. Quake swarms are another source of control, as they pepper the databases with many quakes and skew the statistics, and thus are pulled from the database. Else the question is raised, why so many?   EOZT

Will the USGS internet system be a reliable warning system for the European tsunami by registering on the net the New Madrid earthquake on the exact time it occurs?

SOZT:   It will not be a lack of information from the USGS that will be the point of confusion during the earthquakes leading up to the New Madrid adjustment, it will be knowing which quake is the big one vs the many minor quakes preceding it. The USGS downgrades almost all earthquakes, to prevent meaningful statistics from being generated from their databases. They also exclude quakes whenever they can, but this is unlikely to happen in the New Madrid area as it is in the center of a populated land mass. Thus you will have magnitude 6 quakes that will be called a 5.2, magnitude 7 quakes called a 6.1, and when a magnitude 8 or greater quake occurs, it will be called a 6.9.

We would advise that rather than watching the USGS quake statistics, that you watch the Earth changes. The adjustment that will incite the European tsunami will involve bridges on the Mississippi breaking, and being impassable. The land to the west of the Mississippi will drop so that the Mississippi will become 50 miles wide in the state of Mississippi. Watch for this. The New Madrid adjustment will be several large quakes of magnitude 8-9, though will be listed as a lesser magnitude. As the N American continent continues to unzip up to and along the Seaway, the quakes will be less than a magnitude 8 but very destructive to Cleveland and Toledo and Buffalo and the inland locks along the Seaway. Thus it is not what the USGS says that should be watched, but the condition of the bridges on the Mississippi, the impact on the cities along the Seaway, and whether the inland locks are reported as inoperable.   EOZT

UPDATE on jorge namour's post

Thirty people have been killed after a 6.3 magnitude earthquake struck near Bushehr in Iran. Around 800 people have been injured, according to the Iranian Students' News Agency. The area is home to the Bushehr nuclear power plant.

The quake has been given "orange alert level" by the US Geological Survey (USGS). An orange alert means that significant casualties are likely and the disaster is potentially widespread.

The depth of the quake was 10 km (6.2miles). It was followed by 21 aftershocks within three hours. Twelve of those measured above 4 on the Richter scale.

State TV: Three dead after quake hits Iran, near nuclear site

CNN) -- At least three people were killed Tuesday afternoon in a powerful earthquake that struck southern Iran, in the vicinity of a key nuclear facility, Iranian state TV announced.

A 6.3-magnitude earthquake was centered about 91 kilometers southeast of Bushehr, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

Iran's Fars news agency said the quake measured at 6.1 magnitude.

Bushehr is home to a nuclear plant. State-run Press TV reported that the network has spoken to officials at the plant and that there were no problems there. Press TV warned that officials were indicating the number of casualties is expected to rise.

The quake was at a depth of 10 kilometers, according to the USGS.

At least two strong aftershocks struck the same area in the past half hour later Tuesday, the USGS said.

The CNN bureau in Dubai said that the quake was felt in the United Arab Emirates, across the Persian Gulf from Iran, and that some buildings in Abu Dhabi were evacuated.

The quake was also felt in Qatar and Bahrain, according to a CNN journalist in Abu Dhabi, who said some businesses have sent their employees home for the day.

The damage that earthquakes with magnitudes of 6.0 to 6.9 can produce varies widely. Quakes on the lower to middle parts of that range could leave negligible to slight damage in buildings of good design, and considerable to great damage -- such as broken or fallen walls -- in poorly designed structures, according to the USGS.

A seismic swarm in northern IcelandAPRIL5 ,2013
an earthquake swarm is under way northern Iceland. It awoke Grímsey residents from their sleep early Tuesday morning (April 2nd) and shows no signs of stopping. It is located on the Tjörnes Fracture Zone between Grimsey and the mainland. More than 800 earthquakes have been recorded. 522 earthquakes were between M 2 and M 3, 86 greater than M 3. The largest earthquake was M 5.3. The transform fault has historically been the site of underwater eruptions. The most recent eruption was in 1868.

The Civil Protection Agency indicates that earthquake cycles can potentially last for a long time, even weeks, and that it is advisable to expect the quakes to continue, even if the cycle appears to have ended. Residents in the area have been instructed on how to prepare themselves in the case of a larger earthquake hitting. People are advised not to put valuables on a high shelf or hang heavy objects above their beds.

Southern Mexico rattled by 5.4 quake

MEXICO CITY -- Parts of southern and central Mexico have been rattled by a 5.4-magnitude earthquake, but there were no immediate reports of damages or injuries.

The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake was centered in the southern state of Guerrero, about 50 miles (81 kilometers) northwest of the resort of Acapulco.

The quake was felt slightly in Mexico City late Thursday.

Every day at around 9:00 AM MDT I check the IRIS page to watch what earthquake activity has been taking place in the past 24 hours. The "new" normal, since about October 2012, has been 18-25 EQ's by that time of the day (these are mag 4+). The past TWO days I have done the same thing, and the IRIS has been eerily quiet - only ONE EQ yesterday (4/3/13) and ONE so far today (4/4/13)... both in the same location, near Japan.

Has anyone else been noticing this? Before about October 2012, for a good year, there would be 10-12 EQ's on the page, then in October it started increasing to around 20. To have 2 days in a row of ONE EQ on the map is highly irregular. It will be interesting to see what happens in the next few days... maybe tension will build up from this, maybe not...
