Altering Earthquakes:
As of late, I have observed that USGS and EMSC are a bit lax on their reports of earthquakes. Sometimes not seeing anything reported for hours from the last update, or seeing periods of 90-200 minutes with no earthquakes in between. My question is, are they leaving swarms of earthquakes out of their reports, or there are actually periods of no earthquakes?
SOZT: Greater than 90% of the earthquake activity is being altered by the USGS at present, which is under orders to prevent any clue being given to the public about the Earth changes caused by the presence of Planet X. Over a decade ago, the approach was to de-sensitize the live seismographs periodically, so the displays do not turn black worldwide, and to ignore the twice-a-day patterns showing up on these seismographs. Then any quakes that could be dropped were dropped. This was obvious to some who were watching the database manipulation. Quakes in the list would suddenly disappear. This was particularly the case where a quake happened in a remote location, or out in the ocean. Dumbing down the magnitude quickly followed, but in order to ensure the public did not notice, the USGS took control of all websites reporting quake statistics. At times, this control breaks, and discrepancies are reported to the public. Some countries rebel. Quake swarms are another source of control, as they pepper the databases with many quakes and skew the statistics, and thus are pulled from the database. Else the question is raised, why so many? Will the USGS internet system be a reliable warning system for the European tsunami by registering on the net the New Madrid earthquake on the exact time it occurs?
SOZT: It will not be a lack of information from the USGS that will be the point of confusion during the earthquakes leading up to the New Madrid adjustment, it will be knowing which quake is the big one vs the many minor quakes preceding it. The USGS downgrades almost all earthquakes, to prevent meaningful statistics from being generated from their databases. They also exclude quakes whenever they can, but this is unlikely to happen in the New Madrid area as it is in the center of a populated land mass. Thus you will have magnitude 6 quakes that will be called a 5.2, magnitude 7 quakes called a 6.1, and when a magnitude 8 or greater quake occurs, it will be called a 6.9.
We would advise that rather than watching the USGS quake statistics, that you watch the Earth changes. The adjustment that will incite the European tsunami will involve bridges on the Mississippi breaking, and being impassable. The land to the west of the Mississippi will drop so that the Mississippi will become 50 miles wide in the state of Mississippi. Watch for this. The New Madrid adjustment will be several large quakes of magnitude 8-9, though will be listed as a lesser magnitude. As the N American continent continues to unzip up to and along the Seaway, the quakes will be less than a magnitude 8 but very destructive to Cleveland and Toledo and Buffalo and the inland locks along the Seaway. Thus it is not what the USGS says that should be watched, but the condition of the bridges on the Mississippi, the impact on the cities along the Seaway, and whether the inland locks are reported as inoperable. Despite active telemetry status for the vast majority of GSN and ANSS seismic stations around the globe, their heliplots are unavailable, while China's are visible but suspended as of August 22.
UPDATE: LISS heliplots were briefly restored between 20:20 UTC August 18 and 05:25 UTC August 19.

Wellington shaken by severe earthquake
Office workers around Wellington central city have spilled out onto the streets after the strong shake.A severe earthquake has shaken the Wellington region this afternoon.
After its initial report, GNS reported on its website that the quake that struck at 2.31pm was 6.2, and only 8km deep, 10km southeast of Seddon, near the coast in Marlborough.
GNS seismologist Bill Fry said it was not immediately clear what the exact magnitude of the shake was as data continued to come in, but it was likely to be "in the upper 6s''.
He said it was a "very strong, shallow shake'' which was widely felt.
The strongest shaking was recorded in Wellington.
It was probably a bit to the south of the quakes of two weeks ago.
"Anecdotally, I was sitting in my office chair in the same spot and I thought this had longer duration than the shakes of two weeks ago.
"Scientifically, if it gets above the magnitude of the largest one two weeks ago then this becomes the main shocks and those become foreshocks.''
By that, he meant that this could be "the main event'' and the previous shakes could have been leading up to this.
The large quake has been followed by a series of aftershocks.
A further significant aftershock struck about 3.10pm, about 45 minutes after the initial shake and fire engines were still racing through the streets of the CBD to call outs.
DAMAGE REPORTS
A house had almost totally collapsed just south of Lake Grassmere in Marlborough.
There were no injuries.
It was earlier reported the house was in Nelson.
There was also reports of a a rockfall on State Highway 1, just north of Ward.
Police said large boulders had come down on parts of SH1.
KiwiRail said upper South Island freight movement was also likely to have been put on hold.
Phone connections into the capital are disrupted, but a spokeswoman was hoping for text updates within the next hour on any damage to rail infrastructure such as tunnels, bridges, overhead power lines and - in the case of the inter-island ferries - wharves at Picton and Wellington.
NZ Bus later said Wellington buses were running again.
ANZ said its Wellington contact centres were evacuated.
Wellington had also lost cellphone coverage.
Ambulance central communications said they had yet to receive any calls related to the earthquake.
TranzMetro said it had immediately stopped all train services in the capital. Wellington's railway station had been evacuated.
Wellington Airport's runway has been inspected and is back open, although travelers are advised to check with their airline or airport website for flight status.
No tsunami threat has been issued.
A fire communications spokesman said so far there had been no reports of damage in Wellington, just alarm activations around the city. There is also one person stuck in a lift.
There were reports power was cut in the suburb of Karori.
Police are advising motorists to take care on State Highway One south of Blenheim following this afternoon's earthquakes near Seddon.
Large boulders have come down in several places along the highway and motorists are advised not to travel unless absolutely necessary and to expect delays.
Wellington police shift inspector Bruce Mackay said there had not yet been any reports of damage other than some broken glass. "We haven't actually had a lot, there's been some broken glass, but nothing major.''
He said trains had been suspended and the airport runway was initially closed as a precaution.
But he said there would be likely to be some congestion in the city centre as workers looked to head home, and those who have been evacuated from buildings tried to leave, while trains were still suspended.
"A lot of people are going to be leaving town but the trains aren't working so that's going to be causing some problems.''
He said the big quake and several aftershocks had been felt at the police communications centre. "It bounced at first and then did a big sideways shake. We're sitting here feeling a bit car sick.''
Malborough District Council communications co-ordinator Julianna Dilrew said Telecom land lines and cell phone networks were initially disrupted, but the council was starting to receive calls again.
"It certainly felt as big as the one a few weeks ago.''
"We're all a bit shaken.''
She said council staff were "jumping into action'' and heading out to Seddon.
Fire chief in Seddon, Marlborough, Kevin Hebberd said fallen power lines had caused a grassfire, and the town's fuel supply had been ripped out of the ground.
"At the moment we've dealt with a fire, dealt with power lines down and we've shut off the fuel because the tank's been torn out of the ground.''
The Fire Service was doing a street-by-street check on everyone it could.
There had been no reports of injury so far, he said.
The first quake lasted for two or three minutes, and aftershocks were still rattling the station every few minutes.
"It's the strongest one we've had and it's still continuing.''
Nelson City Council spokeswoman Ali Hamblin said there were no reports of damage in the Nelson/Tasman region so far from Civil Defence.
"It wasn't massive - we got under our desks but it wasn't like the world was going to end.''
The Ministry of Business Innovation and Enterprise said its buildings would be closed.
Telecom advises that no significant damage appears to have been sustained to its networks in the Lower North Island or Upper South Island as a result of this afternoon's Cook Strait earthquakes.
"For a period of time after the major earthquake hit just after 2.30pm, our networks experienced severe congestion as a result of many people trying to make calls to loved ones,'' said communications manager Holly Wilkinson.
"While this initial congestion is abating we continue to encourage customers to use text messaging rather than making phone calls unless absolutely necessary, to ensure lines are freed up for emergency calls.''
111 services are still operating, although traffic that normally is routed through the Wellington call centre has been diverted to Christchurch under Telecom's business continuity procedures.
Telecom has also decided to close all its key buildings in the Wellington area as a precaution pending engineering checks likely to occur over the weekend. Staff are being allowed to return home to their families and loved ones.
