Altering Earthquakes:

ZetaTalk Aug 7, 2010

As of late, I have observed that USGS and EMSC are a bit lax on their reports of earthquakes. Sometimes not seeing anything reported for hours from the last update, or seeing periods of 90-200 minutes with no earthquakes in between. My question is, are they leaving swarms of earthquakes out of their reports, or there are actually periods of no earthquakes?

SOZT:   Greater than 90% of the earthquake activity is being altered by the USGS at present, which is under orders to prevent any clue being given to the public about the Earth changes caused by the presence of Planet X. Over a decade ago, the approach was to de-sensitize the live seismographs periodically, so the displays do not turn black worldwide, and to ignore the twice-a-day patterns showing up on these seismographs. Then any quakes that could be dropped were dropped. This was obvious to some who were watching the database manipulation. Quakes in the list would suddenly disappear. This was particularly the case where a quake happened in a remote location, or out in the ocean. Dumbing down the magnitude quickly followed, but in order to ensure the public did not notice, the USGS took control of all websites reporting quake statistics. At times, this control breaks, and discrepancies are reported to the public. Some countries rebel. Quake swarms are another source of control, as they pepper the databases with many quakes and skew the statistics, and thus are pulled from the database. Else the question is raised, why so many?   EOZT

Will the USGS internet system be a reliable warning system for the European tsunami by registering on the net the New Madrid earthquake on the exact time it occurs?

SOZT:   It will not be a lack of information from the USGS that will be the point of confusion during the earthquakes leading up to the New Madrid adjustment, it will be knowing which quake is the big one vs the many minor quakes preceding it. The USGS downgrades almost all earthquakes, to prevent meaningful statistics from being generated from their databases. They also exclude quakes whenever they can, but this is unlikely to happen in the New Madrid area as it is in the center of a populated land mass. Thus you will have magnitude 6 quakes that will be called a 5.2, magnitude 7 quakes called a 6.1, and when a magnitude 8 or greater quake occurs, it will be called a 6.9.

We would advise that rather than watching the USGS quake statistics, that you watch the Earth changes. The adjustment that will incite the European tsunami will involve bridges on the Mississippi breaking, and being impassable. The land to the west of the Mississippi will drop so that the Mississippi will become 50 miles wide in the state of Mississippi. Watch for this. The New Madrid adjustment will be several large quakes of magnitude 8-9, though will be listed as a lesser magnitude. As the N American continent continues to unzip up to and along the Seaway, the quakes will be less than a magnitude 8 but very destructive to Cleveland and Toledo and Buffalo and the inland locks along the Seaway. Thus it is not what the USGS says that should be watched, but the condition of the bridges on the Mississippi, the impact on the cities along the Seaway, and whether the inland locks are reported as inoperable.   EOZT

Please collect earthquake-reports here. Significant Quakes or Magnitude 7+ can be posted separately.

The quake was felt as far as Marseilles and Cannes, but has frightened the inhabitants of Monte Carlo, Menton and Nice, closest to the epicenter who has verified the Alps skyscrapers of Monaco have amplified the effects of the earthquake: the 35,000 residents of the principality were afraid and in some cases took to the streets,

Strong earthquake rattles much of the Mediterranean: epicenter in Greece [MAPS]

Earthquake felt in the evening in the South of Italy and in particular in the areas of Ionic Sicily, Calabria and Puglia at exactly 22:08 a quake of magnitude 5.6 with its epicenter in southern Greece has been warned to great distances, because a deep hypocenter even 143km. Just the depth of the shock has avoided damage in the area closest to the epicenter, but resulted in a vast extent of the seismic resentment, practically extended to most of the Mediterranean from southern Italy to Turkey, or even to North Africa ( Libya and Egypt). The quake was felt in Istanbul and Malta. Many reports in Italy, from Sicily south / east but also from Puglia center / south and Calabria. Here are some maps:

Tsunami in USA on Thursday, 03 April, 2014 at 14:44 (02:44 PM) UTC.

The magnitude 8.2 earthquake that erupted Tuesday off northern Chile produced a tsunami whose energy caused tiny fluctuations early Wednesday on a tide gauge in La Jolla, says the Scripps Institution of Oceanography. Scripps seismologist Gabi Laske said that the tsunami added about two inches to the height of waves at the gauge at 5 a.m. Wednesday, just over 12 hours after the earthquake happened. "In La Jolla, the first "weird" wiggle arrived at about this time," Laske told U-T San Diego. "While we could debate whether San Diego had a tsunami, it was clearly measured at the Santa Monica tide gauge station. Arriving at about 5:30 a.m., the biggest wave came at 7:10 a.m. at 6.3 inches. While I wouldn't stick my head out for the San Diego/La Jolla data, the Santa Monica data are very clear. "The signal at the Santa Barbara station is very concerning. The first wave there also arrived at about 5:30 a.m., the first "big" wave (at 7 inches) at 6:45 a.m. But "big" waves were still recorded at 9:50 a.m. (at 7.5 inches). My guess is that waves bounced off the coast and then joined and added together later on. All these numbers are +/-, so peak-to-trough amplitude is twice that. "The tsunami arrived in Crescent City at about 7:00 a.m. PDT, though the biggest wave didn't come (at a little less than +/- 6.7 inches), until 8:40 a.m., with another group of waves reaching this height at 10:50 a.m. So, this is smaller than in Santa Barbara (which is interesting and disturbing

Powerful earthquake strikes off Chile, triggers tsunami

http://edition.cnn.com/2014/04/01/world/americas/chile-earthquake/i...
(CNN) -- An 8.2-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of northern Chile on Tuesday, generating a tsunami, authorities said.
The U.S. Geological Survey reported the quake, which hit at at 6:46 p.m. local time, was centered some 60 miles northwest of Iquique at a depth of 12.5 miles.
It had previously put the magnitude at 8.0 and the depth at 6.2 miles.
Chile's National Emergency Office tweeted Tuesday night that it was asking everyone to evacuate the South American nation's coast.
CNN Chile broadcast video of people in Antofagasta, a port city, walking through the streets as traffic piled up in some places. They appeared to be calm.
A tsunami warning was in effect for Chile, Peru and Ecuador.
A tsunami watch was issued for Colombia, Panama and Costa Rica, according to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center.
"Sea level readings indicate a tsunami was generated. It may have been destructive along coasts near the epicenter and could also be a threat to more distant coasts," the center said in its evaluation.
Tsunami waves of more than 6 feet generated by the earthquake had already washed ashore on the coast of Pisagua, Chile, according to Victor Sardino with the center.
The center said nearly 7-foot waves were reported in Iquique, Chile.
There were no immediate reports of injuries, although an 8.2-magnitude earthquake is capable of causing tremendous damage.
Chile is on the so-called "Ring of Fire," an arc of volcanoes and fault lines circling the Pacific Basic that is prone to frequent earthquakes and volcanic eruptions.
About 500 people were killed when a 8.8-magnitude earthquake struck Chile on February 27, 2010. That quake triggered a tsunami that toppled buildings, particularly in the Maule region along the coast.
According to researchers, the earthquake was violent enough to move the Chilean city of Concepcion at least 10 feet to the west and Santiago about 11 inches to the west-southwest.
The tsunami threat to Hawaii still was being evaluated Tuesday. The U.S. National Tsunami Warning Center was working to determine the level of danger for Alaska, Washington, Oregon and California, as well as Canada's British Columbia.
