Altering Earthquakes:

ZetaTalk Aug 7, 2010

As of late, I have observed that USGS and EMSC are a bit lax on their reports of earthquakes. Sometimes not seeing anything reported for hours from the last update, or seeing periods of 90-200 minutes with no earthquakes in between. My question is, are they leaving swarms of earthquakes out of their reports, or there are actually periods of no earthquakes?

SOZT:   Greater than 90% of the earthquake activity is being altered by the USGS at present, which is under orders to prevent any clue being given to the public about the Earth changes caused by the presence of Planet X. Over a decade ago, the approach was to de-sensitize the live seismographs periodically, so the displays do not turn black worldwide, and to ignore the twice-a-day patterns showing up on these seismographs. Then any quakes that could be dropped were dropped. This was obvious to some who were watching the database manipulation. Quakes in the list would suddenly disappear. This was particularly the case where a quake happened in a remote location, or out in the ocean. Dumbing down the magnitude quickly followed, but in order to ensure the public did not notice, the USGS took control of all websites reporting quake statistics. At times, this control breaks, and discrepancies are reported to the public. Some countries rebel. Quake swarms are another source of control, as they pepper the databases with many quakes and skew the statistics, and thus are pulled from the database. Else the question is raised, why so many?   EOZT

Will the USGS internet system be a reliable warning system for the European tsunami by registering on the net the New Madrid earthquake on the exact time it occurs?

SOZT:   It will not be a lack of information from the USGS that will be the point of confusion during the earthquakes leading up to the New Madrid adjustment, it will be knowing which quake is the big one vs the many minor quakes preceding it. The USGS downgrades almost all earthquakes, to prevent meaningful statistics from being generated from their databases. They also exclude quakes whenever they can, but this is unlikely to happen in the New Madrid area as it is in the center of a populated land mass. Thus you will have magnitude 6 quakes that will be called a 5.2, magnitude 7 quakes called a 6.1, and when a magnitude 8 or greater quake occurs, it will be called a 6.9.

We would advise that rather than watching the USGS quake statistics, that you watch the Earth changes. The adjustment that will incite the European tsunami will involve bridges on the Mississippi breaking, and being impassable. The land to the west of the Mississippi will drop so that the Mississippi will become 50 miles wide in the state of Mississippi. Watch for this. The New Madrid adjustment will be several large quakes of magnitude 8-9, though will be listed as a lesser magnitude. As the N American continent continues to unzip up to and along the Seaway, the quakes will be less than a magnitude 8 but very destructive to Cleveland and Toledo and Buffalo and the inland locks along the Seaway. Thus it is not what the USGS says that should be watched, but the condition of the bridges on the Mississippi, the impact on the cities along the Seaway, and whether the inland locks are reported as inoperable.   EOZT

Two Dead, 70 Injured in Southern Pakistan Earthquakes (May 9)

A series of small earthquakes hit southern Pakistan on Friday, killing at least two persons and injuring 70 others, officials said.

Three shallow quakes struck near the city of Nawabshah in Sindh in the space of an hour starting at 3:51am, sending frightened residents running into the streets praying for their lives. The most powerful tremor was measured at 5.0 magnitude, an official in the Meteorological Department told AFP. An emergency was declared at the city’s hospitals and district offices, with schools and colleges closed down, he said. Around 100 houses in Nawabshah were damaged.

Work was under way to assess the extent of the damage caused by the quakes, which were also felt in several nearby small towns including Sakrand, Daur, Daulat Pur and Bandhi. Asif Arain, a Nawabshah resident, said: “The shaking woke us and we ran out of home reciting verses from the Quran. “Then we felt another jolt, that was even more terrifying. I felt sick.” A local administration official, Irfan Kathio, told AFP that at least two persons had died and 70 others were injured, including women and children.

Taj Colony neighbourhood in Nawabshah was the worst affected, resident Ghulam Mustafa told AFP. The roofs of many of the houses there had crumbled, he said, with electricity supplies to the area disrupted.

The quake was followed by two aftershocks measuring 4.7 and 4.9 magnitude with epicentres northeast and northwest of Nawabshah, the meteorology official said. The US Geological Survey measured the three quakes at magnitudes 4.5, 4.3 and 4.6. The quakes all struck at a relatively shallow depth of around 15 kilometres.

6.0 Magnitude Thailand Quake Cracks Open Roads, Destroys Temples (May 5)

A Buddhist monk checks a statue of Buddha that was damaged by an earthquake at the Udomwaree temple in Chiang Rai, northern Thailand.

A strong earthquake shook northern Thailand and Myanmar on Monday evening, smashing windows, cracking walls and roads and damaging Buddhist temples.

"Since May 5, there were six large aftershocks with a magnitude between 5.0 to 5.9 and the last was May 6," said Burin Wechbunthung of the Meteorological Department, adding there were a dozen smaller tremors.

An 83-year-old woman died when a brick wall in her house collapsed after the quake struck and 25 other people were slightly injured, mostly from fallen ceilings or items in their houses.

The airport in Chiang Rai, a northern Thai city near the epicenter of the 6.3-magnitude temblor, evacuated people from its terminal, where display signs and pieces of the ceiling fell.

A well-known temple in the city, the all-white Wat Rongkhun, was closed because of safety concerns after the earthquake.

“The spire of the main building came off and the tiles on the roof fell off,” Chalermchai Kositpiphat, the artist who designed the temple, told Nation TV. “I still don’t know how we can sleep tonight. It was shaking the whole time and then aftershocks followed four to five times. It will bring more damages each time an aftershock happens, I’m afraid.

“The murals are also damaged because the pillars were shaken badly,” Chalermchai said. “I don’t know how many years it will take me to fix it. It was tumbling like the earth was going to explode.”

In Chiang Rai’s Phan district, one road was split by multiple cracks.

People ran down stairs in office buildings in Myanmar’s largest city, Yangon, and severe shaking also was felt in Chiang Mai, Thailand’s second-largest city.

M6 earthquake jolts Tokyo vicinity, injuring at least 16

A strong earthquake with an estimated magnitude of 6.0 jolted central Tokyo on Monday morning.

The quake, which struck around 5:18 a.m., measured lower 5 on the Japanese seismic intensity scale of 7 in the Otemachi business district in central Tokyo’s Chiyoda Ward, the Japan Meteorological Agency said. The magnitude was revised from 6.2 initially reported.

Tremors measuring at least one on the scale were felt widely in Japan from the Tohoku northeastern region to the Chugoku western region.

The quake was centered 162 km below the seafloor off the island of Izu Oshima, according to the agency. It caused no tsunami.

This was the strongest seismic intensity level measured in Chiyoda Ward since upper 5 was logged there from the 9.0-magnitude quake on March 11, 2011, off the northeastern Japan coast.

No major damage has been reported, but the Fire and Disaster Management Agency said that a total of 16 people were injured in the Tokyo area.

Yohei Hasegawa, director of the meteorological agency’s Earthquake and Tsunami Observation Division, said at a news conference that Monday’s temblor occurred in the Pacific plate and has little connection with an expected major quake directly beneath Tokyo or in the Sagami Trough south of Tokyo.

Aftershocks generally do not follow a quake of this depth, Hasegawa said, but he urged people to prepare for an aftershock of 3 or 4 on the Japanese scale just in case.

According to local authorities, a 66-year-old woman collapsed and suffered a broken bone in Kawasaki, Kanagawa Prefecture, south of Tokyo. Four were injured in Yokohama near Kawasaki, hit by such falling objects as a clock and a picture frame.

Eight were injured in Tokyo, one in Tokorozawa, Saitama Prefecture, north of Tokyo, and a total of two in Ichikawa and Kisarazu in Chiba Prefecture, east of Tokyo. Continue...
