Venus Looming

I took these pictures while in the mountains camping on the weekend of June 12th 2015.  It was before sundown and I noticed that an extremely bright light was in the west just above the tree line and I took these pictures of what I believe is Venus looming ever so close.  One will notice…

I think the following might be the picture you wanted to post from wiki?

If you look at the two lenses in the middle they're kinda like regular sunglasses; but not quite.

The middle part of all the lenses are either thicker/thinner than the edge of the lenses.

Whereas a sunglass has a consistent thickness over its entire glass.
