ZetaTalk Q&A for February 25, 2012:

My question is regarding the YouTube strange sounds video posted by Gerard yesterday: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FUdZGm476yA On the Strange Sounds blog I posted a response as follows: Not trying to discredit anyone on the Montana video/audio. I believe what is recorded. But I'd really be interested in Zeta feedback on it because it reminds me of what happened in Close Encounters of the Third Kind - the musical sounds that the spacecraft emitted. The sound produced in Missoula is what is called in music a major seventh chord. In the key of C it would be C-E-G-B; in this case with an extra underlying G as the first note. I have a hard time believing that anything in nature could create this without help - possibly ET help. The notes are played separately up the scale/chord and then down the scale/chord. Could the Zetas please comment on what the source might be?

SOZT

Missoula lies in a valley between mountain ranges that are riddled with rivers draining the steep mountain sides. If Kiev has multi-tonal trumpets because the reservoir is vibrating, and Belarus has horns because the river there is vibrating, then why should Missoula be exempt? The regions where the vibrating Earth plays music are where water is being vibrated. Elsewhere, it sounds like a roar, like Godzilla rising from the sea and roaming the land. Noise is sound where every frequency is heard. Music is controlled such that harmonics, or coinciding or duplicating frequencies are heard.

That several distinct tones were heard in Missoula, each in turn, only means that the body of water producing them increased its frequency from tone to tone. In Kiev, chords were heard, as more than one arm of the reservoir was set to vibrating. The thrumming or fan beating sound that preceded the Missoula tones was the rock layers being pulled apart, as the N American continent is being pulled into a bow, as we have often explained. As the jerking apart and rebound of the underlying rock layers picked up the pace, the pitchof the music the nearby river produced climbed. Simple as that.

ZetaTalk from the Jan, 21 2012 Q&A:

Strange sounds are heard all over the world! Can the Zetas comment? http://www.godlikeproductions.com/forum1/message1756314/pg1 [and from another] My question pertains to the noises, similar to the ones heard in Kiev, happening over the past week all over the world. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZ2ZcmMxehk&feature=channel_video_title Here is a video compilation of some of the places experiencing these noises, some of the videos have been accused of being a hoax, and the essence of my question for the Zetas is; what is going on? I've managed to locate some videos from Australia, posted recently, that seem to verify what others have posted from other users located in different parts of Australia, one of the videos located here. It would appear we are seeing the "Kiev Effect" taking place worldwide now, and only recently on this scale; there is obviously more to this than meets the eye, would the Zetas care to comment?

SOZT

Where initially only a hum, and only in certain notorious parts of the world, rock under stress has become noisy. Known as the Taos hum, the sound of a diesel engine running somewhere underground was an early entry. Then the Seattle drums entered the arena, rhythmic booming which was ascribed to flapping manhole covers. Booms from snapping and heaving rock were reported in the New Madrid region and humming along the St. Lawrence Seaway increased.

But in 2011, it became clear that where we predicted that the Earth would moan during the 5.9 days of rotation stoppage, it was not going to be silent between then and now. The trumpets of Kiev and the horns of Belarus went viral on the Internet, followed quickly by a roar over Tampa Bay that sounded like Godzilla emerging from the sea. Now, in early 2012, this has spread to the drums of Costa Rica and the howl of Alberta and the Borneo snore.

Where is this leading? At least half the Earth, at any given point in time, will be having some sort of tension in its rock. Clapping and grinding fault lines, vibrating bodies of water, trembling rock strata resisting being pulled apart, and snapping rock under compression or being bent. All will be noisy, and the most likely reaction among those who hear it will be to conclude that the End Times have arrived. However known in various cultures around the world, allhave some reference to the coming times. The establishment will be unable to explain away these sounds, and once again the Internet will be sought and will lead inevitably to our explanations.

Is it the mysterious sound of the so-called coming Apocalypse? Some think that the mysterious sound heard in Costa Rica at around 12:30am this morning is exactly that.

Ronny Quintero, a seismologist said the event should be studied at the exact time and location of the anomalies to determine with certainty that there was no earthquake. He added that depending on the location of those who claim they heard the rumble or ”The Hum” it is easy to dismiss the possibility of tectonic movements.

This news has rattled the social web whereas Costa Ricans and the world over are scrambling to figure out what this mysterious sound could have been. Authorities have yet to comment on the subject although OVSICORI, the Costa Rica Volcanologist and Seismologist Organization is saying there is no Earth movements recorded at the time of the strange sound.

Here is a YouTube video showing how it sounded.

It is important to note that this is not the wind nor was it filmed anywhere near the ocean. The sound was heard throughout the entire country from Heredia to Perez Zeledon.

There is a subset of the Caribbean Plate called the Panama Plate, though this subset moves as one with the Caribbean Plate. Nevertheless, there is a fault line running through Costa Rica, and during the incessant pressure of the slow moving S American roll fault lines can pull apart and bang back together again, like clapping. As the recent cold spells in India reveal, the N Pole of Earth is pushed violently away when the Sun is over New Zealand and the magnetic N Pole of Earth (currently over Siberia) comes up over the horizon. This equates to midnight in Costa Rica, which is when the drums were heard. Residents there should get used to these midnight drums, which will be with them for some time.

Over 100 strange unexplained booms heard in California town

“It’s frightening. We never know when it’s going to happen or where it’s coming from.”

SINCE February 15th, 2016, residents of Alhambra, California, like Susan Saunders have been reporting mysterious loud booms to police, government officials, seismic experts and anyone else who will listen. Since February 15th, 2016, no one has been able to explain them.

“No one has seen the cause of the booms, smelled it or found remnants of fireworks, and the calls we get don’t have enough specificity for us to find the source.”

Alhambra City Manager Mark Yokoyama says his police department has received 114 calls about the strange explosions since February and he, his staff and the entire police force are baffled. Christopher Paulson, Alhambra director of administrative services, has plotted the reports on a city map and, although no clear central location has emerged, the highest number has been heard in the city’s northeast corner.

Yes, he’s already looked over there along with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works (Alhambra is eight miles from downtown Los Angeles) and the Alameda Corridor-East Construction Authority. No construction sites have been using any type of explosives or conducting any excavations near gas lines that could have caused the booms.

What about all of that seismic equipment listening for the next big California earthquake? Jennifer Andrews, staff seismologist for California Institute of Technology’s Seismological Laboratory, says her equipment is sensitive enough to pick up thunder, fireworks and even truck rumblings but no unusual seismic activity was recorded during the times of the mysterious Alhambra booms. Christopher Paulson is puzzled.

“Police will go out to the location where the caller is and they don’t see any evidence. There’s no damage. There’s no destruction. There’s no injury. There’s no smoke. There’s no flame. There’s no kids or transients running away from the scene of anything. It’s just the loud noise.”

Despite that, Paulson and other city officials are believers in the booms since they themselves heard a strange explosion in February right after a city council meeting. They’re waiting for a explanation too.

How can nearly 20 mysterious booms occur every month for six months in one city without any plausible cause emerging?

BOOM! Area abuzz by potential cause of Sunday blast

    Aug 22,2016 http://standardspeaker.com/news/boom-area-abuzz-by-potential-cause-...
Things are certainly booming in Hazleton — the question is, what caused the loud blast heard by many throughout the area?

At approximately 12:15 a.m. Sunday many residents across the Hazleton area reported experiencing what sounded and felt like a “sonic boom” — rattling windows, and “echoing like an explosion,” according to concerned resident Tom Heller.

“I’ve been hearing people report about it from all over,” he said. “McAdoo, Hazleton, Packer Township ... even the Valley.”

The noise went viral on social media, drawing hypotheses from concerned residents as to what caused such a boom.

“We’ve haven’t gotten any calls or responded to any incidents that were related to any type of boom like that,” Hazleton Fire Chief Donald Leshko said.

“We’ve heard people talking about this explosion, but there’s nothing that we’re sure of, or that we responded to.”

While some cite a “sonic boom,” “a meteor exploding in atmosphere” or “a high-tension power line breaking,” the most popular guess points to the ignition of a methane gas pocket at the site of the Jeanesville mine fire, burning underground in Banks Township.

Many local residents also cite smelling sulfur — something common in methane-related incidents.

“I wish we had some answers, but nothing was reported in that region for the past few days,” Colleen Connolly of the Department of Environmental Protection told the Standard-Speaker on Sunday evening.

The DEP, in conjunction with Hazleton Shaft Mining Company, are overseeing the Jeanesville fire operations.

“I personally spoke with our director of mining operations down in the Pottsville district office, and he had no phone calls and no reports made in to us for that.”

Despite the confusion, many local residents remain on alert.

“With this fire burning, we could be the next Centralia,” a local resident posted on social media. “Underground fires and explosions are no joke.”

The alleged explosion is still under investigation with the DEP, and anyone with further information or reports of more “booms” in the Jeanesville area are asked to contact the state DEP at 570-621-3118.

COLUMBIA - Multiple KOMU viewers across mid-Missouri reported feeling the effects of an explosion Wednesday.

     September 07, 2016, http://www.komu.com/news/possible-sonic-boom-shakes-komu-viewers-ac...

Reports came in from areas including Cole, Moniteau and Morgan counties. A viewer said the explosion shook windows in California and Fortuna.

Capt. John Wheeler of the Cole County Sheriff's Department said he received several calls from people reporting the explosion as a sonic boom.

Wheeler said the explosion could have been from a meteor, but the best explanation would be a sonic boom from an airplane, based on calls the sheriff's department received.

Mysterious boom startles South Frontenac residents
A loud and still unexplained boom startled South Frontenac residents on the evening of Saturday, Sept. 24.

The boom, first reported at around 8:50 p.m., was heard throughout the county, including Inverary, Sydenham, Glenburnie and Sunbury. Several residents of Rutledge Rd, Railton Rd, Greenfield Rd, Perth Rd, Freeman Rd, Unity Rd, Round Lake and Silverwood Dr reported what was described as "a window rattling explosion".

While South Frontenac fire crews and OPP quickly responded to the reports, they reported nothing visible and were unable to find a cause. Some theorized that a jet may have caused a sonic boom, however no jet noises were reported prior to the sound. Another theory, an earthquake, has not been corroborated by recent seismographic records. There are some unconfirmed reports of a visible meteor streaking across the sky north of Kingston at approximately the same time, however, as well as areas of the GTA and Northern USA..."

Two massive mystery "loud bangs" have been reported in Sheffield overnight (Nov 3)

    http://www.thestar.co.uk/news/mystery-loud-bangs-heard-in-sheffield...

The two blasts were reportedly heard in Handsworth, Manor and the city centre in the early hours, with people taking to social media to report the noises - which some said were too loud to be fireworks.

Facebook user Cheryl Hague said: "A lot of people are talking about hearing two loud bangs in Sheffield during the early hours of today.

"Social media reports suggest they were heard in Handsworth, Manor and city - far too loud to be fireworks."

It comes a few months after a mystery early morning blast which was heard by people across South Yorkshire and up to 30 miles away.

The "massive bang" in April was supposedly heard in the Rotherham and Meadowhall area - but there were no reports of fires or explosions in the area.

After we reported on the blast, others came forward to say they also heard the noise - with one saying it was reportedly heard in Saddleworth between Sheffield and Manchester, more than 30 miles away.

It is not the first time South Yorkshire residents have been left puzzled by mysterious explosions.

Something in Eufaula, Ala., went boom in the night Monday (Nov 28) and after a day of trying to figure it out, city officials are still scratching their collective heads.

Between 8 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. CST, a loud boom was heard throughout the East Alabama city and into neighboring Georgetown, Ga.

Eufaula Mayor Jack Tibbs, who lives south of town on the Country Club of Alabama golf course, said it sounded like a “clap of thunder” at his home. Others reported it was much more intense and even shook some structures, Tibbs said.

“We’ve checked everything, the chicken plant, the fertilizer plant, all the industries,” Tibbs said. “It clearly sounded like an explosion.”

There were no military planes in the area and the nearest storm was 150 miles away, Tibbs said.

There was a small earthquake in Alaska within 2 minutes of the noise, but that is certainly not it, Tibbs said.

“It really is a mystery,” Tibbs said.

All out of ideas, the mayor did offer a tongue-in-cheek theory.

“You know, maybe it was three or four red necks drinking beer out in the country with a few sticks of dynamite trying to take out a beaver dam,” Tibbs joked.

SARPY COUNTY, Neb. (WOWT) -- Loud booming noises heard early Monday left a metro neighborhood and local law enforcement confused as to where the noise originated. Questions flooded into the WOWT 6 Newsroom after two loud “boom” noises were reported early Monday morning.

Sarpy County deputies fielded 4-5 calls about the noises from residents in the Millard and Bellevue areas. Deputies checked the areas, but nothing suspicious was located.

Viewers tell WOWT 6 News around 3 a.m. two ‘massive’ boom sounds sounded about 10 minutes apart. Many people who reported hearing the sounds looked for answers on the Neighborhood app, but with no luck.

Sarpy County dispatch also checked with Offutt Air Force Base, they heard the "boom” noise as well, but they did not have any planes up at the time of the boom.

Deputies said at this point no one seems to know the origins of noise.

SOUTHINGTON, Conn. (WTNH)– A mystery strikes Southington and surrounding towns after a big sound shocks neighbors and shakes homes (Jan 3) . Still almost a day later, they don’t know what caused it.

    http://wtnh.com/2017/01/03/loud-southington-disturbance-remains-a-m...

First they heard it, then they felt it. A loud boom, followed by what felt like an earthquake. Town officials are investigating, but have not pin pointed a cause.

Many thinking it was a sonic boom. That can be caused by an aircraft traveling faster than the speed of sound. Neighbors from Waterbury to Wolcott to Cheshire to Southington noticed it. It rattled windows, knocked pictures around, and then it stopped.

Neighbors told our Bob Wilson Monday night, the sound was unsettling and so is the fact people still don’t know what caused it.

“You would think that someone would have some kind of a lead somewhere but who knows we’ll see it. Yeah it’s a little concerning,” said Ashley Stevens, Southington.

Southington police investigated, following up on dozens of 911 calls and they could find nothing. Also, there was no seismic activity in the area

Officers called Bradley International Airport to see if a plane could have caused this. Still it’s just a mystery.

Boom rattles windows around Hermiston,OR Friday afternoon

    http://www.eastoregonian.com/eo/local-news/20170106/boom-rattles-wi...

HERMISTON — A mysterious boom rattled windows, and a few nerves, around Hermiston Friday afternoon.

Residents in various part of the city, and in surrounding areas, reported hearing a booming sound that shook windows and homes about 2:45 p.m.

The noise resulted in several calls to law enforcement and widespread speculation on at least one social media group forum on Facebook.

Hermiston police chief Jason Edmiston said his department received calls about the sound and he also heard whatever it was himself.

“I was in a closed-door meeting in my office and it rattled my windows,” Edmiston said.

Edmiston, one of his captains and other officers drove around the city to investigate, but nothing was found to explain the noise.

“It would not surprise me if it turned out to be something at a high altitude,” he said, like a meteor or a sonic boom from an aircraft.

As of early Friday evening there was no confirmation of what caused the sound, which some people described as sounding like an earthquake.

The U.S. Geological Survey has not recorded any earthquakes in either Oregon or Washington state over the last 24 hours.

Mystery surrounds 'explosion' noises reported by residents across French city of Marseille (Jan 13)
    http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/753791/Marseille-explosions-res...

RESIDENTS have this afternoon reported a series of "explosion" noises in the southern French city of Marseille.

Numerous reports on Twitter from locals have claimed that the sound of several apparent "explosions" have rocked houses in the Riviera city.

But according to French media firefighters and police are not currently attending any major incidents, raising suspicions the loud noises were actually a sonic boom.

Local newspaper La Marseillaise reported that the bang was heard at around 1.05pm French time in neighbourhoods across the city and beyond, also suggesting that it may have been made by a passing plane and not a bomb.

And newspaper La Provence tweeted: "Many of you have reported hearing the sound of an explosion in Marseille. Firefighters and the police have not reported any ongoing incidents.”

One official told the paper: “We have also heard an explosion but its origin is, for the moment, a mystery.”

La Provence reported that there are no Navy planes in the area that have the capability to break the sound barrier currently in flight.

However, it added that the French air force could have conducted its own flight over the city.

AFP journalist Francois Becker said: “Sound of an explosion heard all across Marseille.

“The cause is unknown but firefighters and rescue workers have not received any calls for assistance.”

Journalist Pietro Guastamacchia suggested the “explosion” was “a plane that has passed the sound barrier”.

He added: “Marseille police had no reports of emergency so far.”

Earlier social media lit up with people expressing worry about the loud bangs amid fears France may have been targeted by another terror attack.

The country has been on edge following a series of atrocities over the last 18 months, including a lorry attack in nearby Nice on Bastille Day last year.

One person using the handle @sebaofotograf, wrote: “The explosion was felt on the wall [of my house] and the window trembled.”

They then added: "The explosion was heard in the eighth arrondissement. What is this madness, my windows are shaking.”

Another user called Maxence Rose wrote: “I heard an enormous explosion in La Valentine, Marseille. Any information?”

Others reported the sound of sirens in the city, although it was not clear whether that was linked to the loud bangs.

La Valentine is a suburban neighbourhood of Marseille, which is France's second largest city.

There has still been no official confirmation of what caused the disturbing noises.

Mysterious 'Loud Boom' Reportedly Rattles Homes in North Carolina Town (Jan 16)
The residents of Mount Holly, a town in North Carolina, have been puzzled by a mysterious "loud boom" that reportedly shook several homes earlier this week.

The Mount Holly Police Department "received more than 30 calls from various parts of the city and even neighboring communities" about the noise on Tuesday evening, said Chief of Police Don Roper.

"People were saying they heard a very loud boom or explosion or loud bang, and some folks said it shook their houses and rattled the windows," Roper told ABC News today.

"It sounded like a bomb just went off outside our house," one caller said, according to 911 audio obtained by ABC's affiliate WSOC in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Several officers immediately went out that night to check areas where callers reported hearing the sound, according to Roper.

But they found "nothing," he said. "There was no evidence of any type of injuries or damage."

There have been several other reports of similar loud noises in the area this past week, Roper said.

One was identified as a train releasing its air brakes and another was an "atmospheric disturbance" -- but what caused the "loud boom" on Tuesday evening remains a mystery, Roper said.

"There's certainly been a lot of chatter and theories on social media, but we weren't able to confirm anything," he said. "We do want people to know we do not feel there is any danger or cause for concern."

Mystery loud bang in Bodmin shakes homes and leaves people baffled

    http://www.cornwalllive.com/residents-in-bodmin-were-left-baffled-a...

Residents in Bodmin were baffled after hearing a loud bang which left houses shaking and led to armed officers being called out.

People living mainly in the Fair Park end of the town say they were left frightened by the mysterious bang that was heard at around 5pm on Sunday afternoon.

The source of the noise caused a debate on social media, with a firework, sonic boom and rook scarer among the theories.Writing on the Bodmin Voice community page on Facebook, some residents said the bang left their houses shaking, while others said the noise was so loud that they thought a car crash had occurred outside their properties.

The bang could be heard by residents living in places including Burden Close, Broomfield Drive, Foster Drive, Trelawney Road, Flamank Park, Monument Way, Whitestone Crescent, Old Market Place, Kinsman and Treningle View.

Adam Freeman believes the cause of the bang was a firework after seeing one go off near his house. "It was right outside my place, not sure why anyone would want to let them off in the day though," he said.

"I was in the garden and saw what either looked like a firework or a tiny rocket exploded above me in a cloud of smoke. It was so loud and scared the dogs."

Others appeared to disagree, claiming such a loud bang couldn't have been caused by a firework.

Georgia Stanton said: "I've had a firework go off over my old house before and it was nowhere near as loud as this! It vibrated through our room, my fiancé and I both sprung out of our seats and looked the window but couldn't see anything."

Police were informed about the noise.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "A call reporting a loud bang, possibly gun fire in Bodmin, was made at around 5pm yesterday.

"Sonic Boom" Registers as M2.9 "earthquake" near Lake Tahoe - Authorities cannot explain why!  https://www.superstation95.com/index.php/world/3802

May 03, 2017. According to the US Geological Survey (USGS) a "Sonic Boom" near Lake Tahoe on the California / Nevada border, registered on their Seismic sensors as a magnitude 2.9 EARTHQUAKE!

This is the SECOND TIME in two weeks that a "sonic boom" has been heard and felt in this specific region and no one can explain why it is taking place.

According to the military, there have not been any rockets or aircraft operating in the area which might account for such an event. Further, no one has reported seeing any type of meteor or other sky phenomena which would explain this.

THE USGS reported it as follows:

    M 2.9 Sonic Boom - 8km S of Truckee, California
    2017-05-02 21:12:55 UTC39.253°N 120.174°W 0.0 km depth

Back on April 22, local media around Lake Tahoe reported a meteor explosion had caused a sonic boom, and attributed that to the Lyrid Meteor Shower which was peaking at the time. Local reports on April 22 said:

"A loud boom that was heard and felt Sunday about 8am could be related to the Lyrid meteor showers.

While folks at the National Weather Service in Reno said they did not feel or hear anything, they did see something.

“I can tell you that I was speaking to a co-worker and she saw a flash across the sky,” meteorologist Mark Faucette told Lake Tahoe News. “If they are bright enough to see in the daytime, they are slightly bigger than the usual meteor.”

But Faucette stressed that he is no expert in these matters and that it is pure speculation on his part that what people heard-felt was related to the Lyrids – which were to peak this morning.

No one at CalTech’s Jet Propulsion Lab – where they deal with matters that are outside the Earth’s atmosphere – was available for comment.

Police dispatch in South Lake Tahoe said their phone has been ringing off the hook from callers asking what the commotion was. They don’t know what the cause of the noise was.

The latest "sonic boom" cannot be attributed to any meteor shower because none are taking place now.

Locals are beginning to fear the sounds are being generated from within the earth in advance of a possibly staggering earthquake to come.

Charleston,SC - Lowcountry residents reported hearing a loud boom Friday morning (May 5), which could

be another of the legendary and mysterious booms reported as far back as the 1800s.

People in North Charleston, Mount Pleasant and West Ashley reported hearing the boom and feeling brief shaking just after 8:30 a.m.

    Military activity?

Steve Jaumé, of the College of Charleston Department of Geology and Environmental Geosciences, said

no earthquake activity has been recorded in the area and it was most likely a sonic boom from an aircraft

    offshore.

Officials at Joint Base Charleston said they heard the boom and agreed it was most likely an aircraft,

but say it wasn't one of theirs.

The Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, Shaw Air Force Base and McEntire Joint National Guard also

say none of their planes could have created a sonic boom along the South Carolina coast this morning,

so the big boom remains a mystery.

A similar boom was reported in January 2016, with no definite explanation ever given...."

    Loud Boom Remains Under Investigation

    http://www.wearewvproud.com/story/35943871/loud-boom-remains-under-...

Raleigh County W. Virginia - Shortly before 11p.m. last night (July 20) people heard a loud boom in Bradley  and Beckley all the way to Ghent.

People in the Prosperity area said their homes shook and that the sound woke them up.

"The house just kind of shook a little bit huge boom I got up to go check on the wife and see and then looked

outside but it sounded like someone had hit one of the peers or something outside the house, a  loud

    boom" Randall Brickey said.

59News reached out to several different agencies and local military bases in the area to find out if the sound

could have come from a sonic boom. So far, no one claims to know what happened.

The National Weather service had several reports of a loud noise as well as a bright flash of light in the

sky. They said this is not weather related.

Lawrence Messinna with the department of Military affairs and homeland security says they have ruled out any

land explosions, mine explosions, or arson as the cause.

A spokesperson from the Green Bank Telescope said a meteorite was highly unlikely as the cause last night.

Mysterious Booms, House-Rattling Sounds In Pennsylvania Under Investigation By FBI

    http://philadelphia.cbslocal.com/2018/05/22/police-reported-loud-ex...

SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, Pa. (CBS) — Federal and local authorities are investigating mysterious booms being reported in Upper Bucks and Lehigh Counties.

Springfield Township police say there have been multiple reports of loud explosions, with the most recent one happening shortly after 4 a.m. on Tuesday.

No one seems to know the source of the mysterious booms.

“I thought that somebody was making a tunnel or space junk fell out of the sky,” said Susan Crompton, who lives in Haycock Township.

“From poachers, gunfire, to explosions to a sonic boom,” said Jerry Hertz of the mysterious sound.

There have been no shortages of theories, but still no answer as to why so many residents have been jolted by mysterious and near-deafening sounds.

“It’s a rumble, it actually like rumbles the ground like an earthquake would happen but with a loud like boom,” Crompton added.

“I’ve been in the military, I’ve got experience with explosives, I was a Navy diver and was definitely not a gunshot,” Hertz said.

Local police municipalities have been receiving reports of the booms since early April. All reported sounds have taken place between the hours of 2 a.m. and 4:30 a.m.

Crompton and her daughter heard the booms on two occasions.

“It’s like an explosion and, of course, it actually shakes your house,” said Crompton.

“It is imperative that we get the information as soon as possible in order to track these events,” said police.

There have been no reported injuries from these loud explosions.

CBS3 has confirmed that along with the Pennsylvania State Police, the FBI is now on the case as well.

Authorities are asking that if you notice anything odd, do not investigate for yourself and call police immediately.

No big bang theory after mysterious noise rattles Nanaimo region

    July 17, 2018 - 7:22pm

NANAIMO — There's a long list of things it wasn't, but no one can seem to figure out what it was.

A loud bang, described as an intensely close clap of thunder, was heard across the Nanaimo region Tuesday around 11:30 a.m. Hundreds of people reported hearing it, covering Nanoose to Hammond Bay to College Heights.

"Heard it and felt it near Lantzville," Jamie Penner said on Twitter, noting it was unlike the sound of blasting coming from his area in recent months. "It sounded like someone opening a big sliding door in an apartment above you."

"For me it was like a loud and quick thunder sound!," Donald Louch said.

"It was so loud!! My poor dog ran under the bed from the living room. I live in the Townsite area. Clear skies, so I knew it wasn’t thunder," Angela Gasson told NanaimoNewsNOW.

Earthquakes Canada said there was some seismic activity in the region around that time, however it didn't have the characteristics of a local quake. "Definitely something has been recorded but it doesn't look like an earthquake," a representative said.

It must have been a jet flying out of the Comox air base, right? Nope.

A spokesperson for 19 Wing Comox said they did not have planes in the air or operations planned for that time Tuesday morning. The same response from CFMETR, the maritime test facility in Nanoose Bay: no operations, American, international or otherwise on the schedule.

Nanaimo Fire Rescue said they were not called to any fires or explosions. Nanaimo RCMP said they received several calls about the noise. Dispatchers touched base with BC Hydro, Fortis, Telus, Shaw, and the Department of National Defence and received the same answer: it wasn't us.

Many people speculated the boom was blasting related to numerous active construction sites in the region.

However, one developer told NanaimoNewsNOW it's unlikely normal construction site blasting would have reverberated across the region the way it was described by people Tuesday morning.

The City of Nanaimo, District of Lantzville and Regional District of Nanaimo said they were not aware of any scheduled blasts or explosions beyond normal construction work. The provincial Ministries of Forests, Mining and Transportation had no official cause on the books, although several ministry staff in the region reported hearing the noise.

John Gregson, with Nanaimo construction giant Copcan Civil, said he heard the blast and confirmed it was not related to any of his operations. He said it did however sound like blasting possibly related to forestry operations in the bush. "In the right circumstances the noise can travel a long way," Gregson said. "It sounded like it came from behind Mount Benson."

Perhaps the thunderous noise was some sort of space activity?

Dr. Gregory Arkos, of Vancouver Island University's department of physics, engineering and astronomy, said he can't be sure, but it's not out of the question.

"It could have been a meteor or bolide passing by overhead and breaking the sound barrier, a lot like the Russian Chelyabinsk event of a couple of years ago. But without more data it's hard to say for certain," Arkos said. "Part of the problem may be it might have been heard over a wide area, which could mean the actual event occurred some distance away from Nanaimo."

With no clear answers to the question seemingly plaguing the entire mid-island region on Tuesday, the topic was ripe for speculation.

Residents report massive explosion in Cow Bay
    EXPLOSION HEARD

    Last updated: 08/10/2018 - 16:25 (AEST)

Daintree residents are still trying to figure out what was behind a massive explosion at 9.30pm last night.
“I was in bed and on the phone at the time and there was a sudden explosion which shook my bed. It gave me an incredible fright and initially I thought it was thunder. It was definitely not gun shot,” said Betty Hinton, artist and owner of Floravilla Ice Cream in the Daintree.

On social media a Cow Bay resident said they thought the noise and subsequent shockwave resembled a plane crashing creating a stir on the community page.

Another resident thought it sounded like a gas explosion and reported they witnessed a giant orange mushroom cloud rising from the area.

Fire services however have dealt with the matter and confirmed it was not considered serious

Loud 'boom' heard across Mobile & Eastern Shore triggers seismographs

     https://mynbc15.com/news/local/loud-boom-heard-across-the-area?fbcl...

People from Mobile and Daphne to Grand Bay and Point Clear reported feeling and hearing a loud 'boom' or tremor across the area Thursday afternoon (Nov 15). Around 2 p.m. Mobile Fire-Rescue received calls reporting an explosion, but after searching they couldn't find any evidence of an explosion or smoke.

Seismograph data from the University of South Alabama clearly shows a 'spike' around 2:15 p.m. Wednesday (USA)

Dr. Ale Beebe at the University of South Alabama told NBC 15 News that the event, whatever it was, registered on their seismographs (scientific instruments that measure tremors on the ground) as illustrated in the image above.

image: BRAL) The BRAL seismometer in Brewton AL also recorded the event

A tweet by NASA indicated that the "boom" could have been from aircraft travelling at super sonic speeds, but that is unconfirmed at this time.

NBC 15 News reached out to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), NASA, local and federal military agencies. We will continue to investigate the cause and will update as more information enters the newsroom.

    SOUNDS OF DOOM

Mystery booming sounds shake houses and terrify residents across America after ‘flashes of light’ spotted leaving experts baffled

    8th February 2019,

Some homeowners even claim to have lost power as a result of the tremors

MYSTERY booming sounds have been shaking houses and terrifying residents after "flashes of light" were spotted across America.

Experts have been left baffled by a spate of seismic booms from Arizona to New York that appear to have gathered pace over the past week

A flash of light and loud bang were recorded on a doorbell camera in Rhode Island

The string of phenomena was first reported last Thursday morning when locals in three separate Tennessee counties reported hearing loud booming noises.

On the same day, North Carolinians contacted police reporting unexplained loud blasts and booms that kept them awake at night.

Two homeowners said the booms were so powerful that they briefly lost power as a result of the tremors, Mysterious Universe reported.

Mary Buck told The Sun Online: “There was a loud boom heard in Gum Spring, Virginia, on Wednesday February 7 around 7pm.

“My neighbours and I heard it. We live close to interstate 64 so we just assumed something happened but there were no reported incidents.

“It sounded like an explosion. Could be related to other ‘mysterious boom’ noises reported?”

Similarly unexplained explosions have been reported happening in isolation over the past years, but rarely with this frequency.

On Saturday, loud bangs were reported in Rhode Island, where Jeremy Braza's doorbell captured a video and audio of a loud noise over a three minute period.

The whole house shook. It woke my wife up, woke up all my children

    Rhode Island resident Jeremy Braza

"The whole house shook," he told TurnTo10.com. "It woke my wife up, woke up all my children."

The following night an explosion was heard in New York, accompanied by a mysterious flash in the sky.

"What the heck was that boom or explosion in park slope Brooklyn?", asked Matt Wasowski on Twitter.

Another wrote: "Extremely loud boom in Brooklyn.....? Wtf??????"

    'CANNON-LIKE SOUNDS'

Some speculated that the boom could have resulted from a manhole explosion, but the true origin is yet to be explained.

These booms were followed by "strange cannon-like sounds" in Harahan and River Ridge in Louisiana, where they have also kept residents up at night.

Residents say the sounds have been going on for weeks, and nobody seems to know what causes them.

While Philadelphians were rocked by a series of mystery booms a week ago, and again on Tuesday.

Mysterious Universe speculates that the phenomenon could be caused by cryoseisms or “frost quakes”, which could come about in extreme cold climates.

‘Intense explosion’ that shook homes and rattled windows in Cornelius is investigated

    February 12, 2019 10:09 AM,

Widespread reports of a “very intense explosion” Monday 20 miles north of Charlotte in Cornelius are under investigation, according to a statement released by Cornelius-Lemley Fire Rescue.

“The explosion...was literally earth shaking,” recalled Brendan Krebs, in one of many comments posted about the sound on Fa....

Investigators believe the noise is linked to rock blasting by a construction company in the Bailey’s Glen Subdivision in Cornelius.

“The Mecklenburg County Fire Marshals Office is investigating to ensure all proper permits were in place and procedures were followed,” said the Cornelius-Lemley Fire Rescue Facebook post.

Residents of the area are continuing to complain on social media that, if that is the source, they did not received proper advance warning.

Fox 46 says some described the explosion as a “sonic boom” and said it rattled windows and set off sirens in east Davidson.

No injuries or damage has been reported, but frightened people have posted on Facebook that they heard it 10 miles away in Mooresville.

“That was very intense explosion,” posted Jenn Hol on the fire-rescue agency’s Facebook page.

“Would have been nice to know prior -- before my whole house shook,” wrote April Oates Monroe.

“It was insane!!” posted Wendy Raymond.

North Carolina is well known for reports of mysterious explosions and in most cases the causes are never found, reported the Charlotte Observer in 2017.

Some of the explosions have been blamed on a phenomenon called the Seneca Guns, a term applied to unexplained booms and shakings on the Carolina Coast.

The booms have sparked several active conversations on the Nextdoor App as well as Facebook groups. No one seems to know the source of what they’re hearing, but they agree, it’s loud—sometimes loud enough to shake a house.

In January, Barbara Martin says she was watching the football playoffs at a friend’s house in Jeffersontown near the Gene Snyder when two loud booms shook the house.

In a quest for answers, some homeowners have started conducting research of their own. Jennifer Whitfield called local utility companies, police and fire departments. Based on reports from neighbors in her area, she believes the source of the booms is within a three to five mile radius of Holiday Manor. “The general time seems to be 8:00 pm to 8:30 p.m.,” Whitfield says. Other neighbors have reported hearing the booms as late at 10:40 p.m. and as early as 4:00 a.m. Some even say they’ve seen a flash of light associated with it.

“Sometime around November… I had my own experience,” says Matthew Messer of St. Matthews. “I had just turned east on Columbia Avenue from Marquette Drive when I happened to notice a single bright light shoot up

into the sky behind me, followed by what sounded like a mortar type firework being launched. About five seconds later, right as I was about to turn left… I heard a very loud explosion that genuinely surprised me, as it was much louder than a standard mortar-type firework.”

These mysterious booms have been reported in East Louisville during all seasons and at all hours of the day. So, what are they and from where are they coming? WLKY took some rumored theories to the experts.

We first reached out to Fort Knox to investigate if the source could be military exercises known to carry sound. Media Relations Officer Kyle Hodges requested specific dates and times so he could check the base’s training log. None of them checked out. Hodges says, “My Range Control team does not believe we were the source of the booms. They checked the dates and times you sent against their training log and could not find a direct correlation. Training was complete well before the times mentioned on Jan. 6 and 13. On Jan. 12, we did have an engineer unit conducting light demolition training from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., but they don't believe the sound of that specific type of training would've carried much farther than the Radcliff area – definitely not enough to shake folk's homes in east Louisville.”

Hodges’ team recommended checking with the FAA to see if anything supersonic was flying through that area at the designated times.

FAA Frontline Manager Mike Shaw says he’s not aware of any booms related to air traffic. “If it happened in Lyndon, we’d know it. Our office is off Hurstbourne Lane and we have had no complaints to our office.” Shaw says it’s been at least five years since he’s heard complaints about military helicopters in the area, and he says it’s a much different sound than the boom described. Shaw recommended we double check with Air Traffic Control at Standiford Field.

Unfortunately, that didn’t lead to answers either. Air Traffic Control employee Stephanie Kimmel says, “My supervisors and I checked the log with the dates you gave me and I didn’t see anything out of the ordinary.”

WLKY then reached out to Kentuckiana Seismic & Survey, Inc., once again sending a list of specific dates and times. Vice President Joey Hopper responded saying, “Of the projects that Kentuckiana Seismic & Survey is involved on, we have no blasting projects that were operating in those locations on those dates.

Similar responses came from representatives with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet as well as Louisville’s Department of Public works and Transportation Department: no projects in the area and no known blasting that would cause the booms.

WLKY also reached out to officials with Graymoor Devondale Police, Lyndon City Hall and the St. Matthews Fire Department. Representatives from each say they’ve heard complaints—some have even heard the booms—but they did not know the source.

A Google search of “mysterious booms” suggests frost quakes could be the answer. A frost quake occurs when underground water freezes and expands quickly. The expansion pushes against soil and rock and can cause the ground to crack, creating a boom. WLKY Meteorologist John Belski says a frost quake is not likely the source of what people in Louisville are hearing. “When Chicago had 25 below they were having frost quakes, and even Cincinnati had a few, but I haven’t heard of any in our area. It’s more of an extreme cold phenomenon,” he says.

Another theory that didn’t pan out—local rock quarries. WLKY reached out to Rogers Group Inc, Jefferson County Stone in Louisville. Company representative Scott Chancellor says they conduct underground blasting, “but you wouldn’t be able to hear it. We’re so deep underground.” He says the only other quarries in our area are in Oldham and Bullitt Counties and it’s a similar situation there.

Finally, WLKY reached out to U.S. Geological Survey Geophysicist John Bellini, who’s based in Golden, Colorado. Bellini says, “Generally booming sounds are not easily recordable by seismometers. We’re not seeing anything in Kentucky, and we haven’t seen anything in that area for a while. We can occasionally can pick up a booming sound if it’s happening near a seismometer, for example a natural gas explosion, but these instruments are not built to detect booms. Seismometers are meant to pick up movement in the ground.” Bellini double checked his records with four specific reports of the booming sound in our area.

January 2 at 8:15 p.m. in Lyndon, KY

January 6 at 10:00 p.m. in Lyndon, KY

January 11 at 4:06 a.m. in Lyndon, KY

January 12 at 10:44 p.m. in Jeffersontown, KY

“I looked at our nearest station and nothing came up. I even looked at the records from stations as far as an hour away and nothing turned up there either.” Bellini reiterated, “This is typical with booming sounds.”

WLKY reached out to the University of Louisville’s Geology Department and are waiting to hear back.

Have you heard the booms? Can you record them? If so, please send video or tape recordings to jdolan@hearst.com (Updated: 12:53 PM EST Feb 14, 2019)

“It rattles the windows, it sounds like a firework going off in my backyard,” said Dallis Stumpf.

The sounds are especially startling to those who have kids.

“She’s two-years-old and she comes out, ‘mommy what is that?’ and she freaks out,” Stumpf said.

The loud bangs have attracted so much attention that a Facebook group has been created to track the times and direction of the explosions. It now has more than 500 followers.

Mysterious explosions are concerning Berkeley County communities

Berkeley County Sheriff's office is investigating the case, but says no danger

    May 01, 2019 10:17 PM EDT

    FALLING WATERS, W. Va. -
Several explosions were reported Tuesday night around 7 pm in the Berkeley County area. Berkeley County Sheriff Keller says emergency calls ranged from as far as the Hedgesville area to Maryland.

However, he says that by the time his deputies got there, there was no evidence of people nor explosions

Residents in the area report hearing loud explosions that shake their homes several times over the span of a few months.

One mother says the explosions frighten her children and her pets, but she also worries for other vulnerable populations.
"It will be constant explosions back to back to back then you won't hear it for a couple of weeks but this one, was the biggest one I've heard. What about the people who are war veterans? This is a big explosion that could throw them into a panic," said Ciara White who has expressed concern for the explosions.

"It needs to stop, it's scaring our children and our animals and it's very concerning to the community," White said.

Sheriff Keller did confirm that there is no immediate danger to the public.
